  • CouchDB, HDFS, HBase or which is right for my situation?

    - by Lucas
    Hello all, This question is regarding data storage systems such as CouchDB, HDFS and HBase, specifically, which is right. I am looking at making a simple and customized Document Management System for my organization. Basically, we need the ability to store some Word Documents, PDFs and other similar files. I also want to store metadata about these files (e.g., Author, Dates, etc). Usage permissions would also be handy, but that can probably be built using meta-data. I would also need the ability to full-text index. The ability to version, while not required would be extremely useful. I would like the ability to simply add hardware to expand the resources of the system and the system must support Network Attached Storage over the CIFS or NFS protocol(s). I have read about CouchDB, HDFS and HBase. My preferred programming language is C# as all of my end-users will be running Windows machines and I will want to make both web and winforms client implementations. My question is which solution best fits my needs? Based on my research it appears that CouchDB (utilizing the CouchDB-Lounge and CouchDB-Lucene) perfectly fits my needs. However, I am worried that since I have worked with CouchDB that I might be overlooking something useful for my needs in HDFS or HBase or something similar due to a bias. Any and all opinions are welcome as I am looking for the community input as I really do not want to make the wrong choice at the start of my project. Please ask if you need more information. I thank you all for your time, input and assistance.

  • Can Internet Explorer bind events to absolute positioned elements ?

    - by mark
    Can Internet Explorer bind events to absolute positioned elements ? I can't bind a "click" to an element that is overlapping another. Have tried loads of different ways, here a few tests that don't work in IE: //version 1: $(".classHolder").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); //version 2: $(".classHolder").each(function(){ $(this).click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); }); //version 3: $("#id3").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); //version 4: $("#id3").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); $("#id3").trigger("click"); // in all trials I tested with and without: // $("img").unbind(); // $("div").unbind(); // just to make sure no "ghost" events were bind into the elements but no success. // replace all [ for < , and all ] for [html] [head] [script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"][/script] [script type="application/javascript"] $(document).ready(function(){ $("#id3").click(function(){ alert( $(this).html() ); }); $("#id3").trigger("click"); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [div id="id1" style="position:relative;"] [img id="id2" src="http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_com/images/srpr/logo1w.png" style=";z-index:-1;"/] [div id="id3" class="classHolder" style="position:absolute;border:2px solid red;left:0px;top:0px;width:70px;height:70px;z-index:1002;"]G[/div] [div id="id4" class="classHolder" style="position:absolute;border:2px solid red;left:210px;top:0px;width:25px;height:70px;z-index:1001;"]L[/div] asd asdf asdfg [/div] [/body] [/html]

  • How to run javascript on an ajax output?

    - by WAC0020
    I am using jquery-ui tabs and ajax to load the content of the tabs. Here is my javascript: $(document).ready(function() { $("#tabs").tabs({ fx: { opacity: 'toggle' } }); $('.hd_item').hover(function() { //Display the caption $(this).find('span.hd_caption').stop(false,true).fadeIn(600); }, function() { //Hide the caption $(this).find('span.hd_caption').stop(false,true).fadeOut(400); }); }); When the user clicks on the tab is will load the content.php via ajax. The output of the ajax is: <li class="hd_item"> <img title="Backyard Brawl" alt="Backyard Brawl" src="games/normal_icons/1844.png" id="hd_icon"> <span class="hd_caption"> <h1>Backyard Brawl</h1> <p id="hd_description">In this game you pick a player and beat each other up with ...</p> <p id="hd_stat">Added: <br>2009-12-14</p><a href="/dirtpilegames/index.php?ground=games&amp;action=play&amp;dig=backyard-brawl">PLAY</a> </span> </li> The problem that I am having is the javascript is not working on the ajax output. How to I get it to work on it?

  • Display shift when adding rows to UITableView

    - by Kamchatka
    Hello, I have a UITableView displaying an underlying NSFetchedResultsController. When the fetchedResultsController is updated, - (void)controller:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller didChangeObject:(id)anObject atIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath forChangeType:(NSFetchedResultsChangeType)type newIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)newIndexPath { is called. And the following is executed: case NSFetchedResultsChangeInsert: [tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:shiftedIndexPath] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationFade]; break; The cellForRowAtIndexPath is only called for the new line (which is logical) The problem is however that all the values displayed in the rows of the table view are shifted down. The first row displays its title. The second rows displays the first row's title. The third row the second row's title etc. If I repeat that, the third row will display the second's row title, the fourth the third row's title etc. I don't understand what can happen, especially because cellForRowAtIndexPath is only called for the new line (which is logical) and not for all these lines. Additionally, if I click on these lines which have the wrong title, it opens the right document (didSelectRowAtIndexPath works correctly with the indexPath) Any clue of what could happen? Thanks!

  • jquery png fix on hidden div and jquerybrowser question

    - by Jared
    Hello, I have some code that if Javascript is available, it will remove a GIF image and replace it with a PNG image. The PNG is display:none and the GIF is visible. Since IE6- browsers can't load PNG, I have loaded the jquery PNG fix. But it only seems to work if the image is already visible. The other issue is I am trying to get the jquery.browser function to apply to less than version 6, and I am not having much luck. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#gif").hide(); jQuery.each(jQuery.browser, function(i, val) { if($.browser.msie && jQuery.browser.version <="6"){ $("#png").show(); $('.png').pngFix() }else{ $("#png").fadeIn("slow"); } }); }); </script> HTML <img class="png" id="png" src="images/main_elements/one-2-flush-it-campus-challenge.png" style="display:none;" /> <img id="gif" src="images/main_elements/one-2-flush-it-campus-challenge.gif"/>

  • JS Object this.method() breaks via jQuery

    - by Peter Boughton
    I'm sure there's a simple answer to this, but it's Friday afternoon and I'm tired. :( Not sure how to explain it, so I'll just go ahead and post example code... Here is a simple object: var Bob = { Stuff : '' , init : function() { this.Stuff = arguments[0] } , doSomething : function() { console.log( this.Stuff ); } } And here it is being used: $j = jQuery.noConflict(); $j(document).ready( init ); function init() { Bob.init('hello'); Bob.doSomething(); $j('#MyButton').click( Bob.doSomething ); } Everything works, except for the last line. When jQuery calls the doSomething method it is overriding 'this' and stopping it from working. Trying to use just Stuff doesn't work either. So how do I refer to an object's own properties in a way that allows jQuery to call it, and also allows the object to work with the calling jQuery object? i.e. I would like to be able to do things like this: doSomething : function() { console.log( <CurrentObject>.Stuff + $j(<CallerElement>).attr('id') ); } (Where <CurrentObject> and <CallerElement> are replaced with appropriate names.)

  • Issue with XSLT Processing on PHP

    I'm getting a few errors from XSLTProcessor: XSLTProcessor::transformToDoc() [<a href='function.XSLTProcessor-transformToDoc'>function.XSLTProcessor-transformToDoc</a>]: Invalid or inclomplete context XSLTProcessor::transformToDoc() [<a href='function.XSLTProcessor-transformToDoc'>function.XSLTProcessor-transformToDoc</a>]: XSLTProcessor::transformToDoc() [<a href='function.XSLTProcessor-transformToDoc'>function.XSLTProcessor-transformToDoc</a>]: xsltValueOf: text copy failed in Which is parsing this XSLT Line: <xsl:apply-templates select="page/sections/section" mode="subset"/> The section is: <xsl:template match="page/sections/section" mode="subset"> <a href="#{shorttitle}"> <xsl:value-of select="title"/> </a> <xsl:if test="position() != last()"> | </xsl:if> </xsl:template> The XML that the section is parsing is: <shorttitle>About</shorttitle> <title>#~ About</title> The PHP XSLT Code is: $xslt = new XSLTProcessor(); $XSL = new DOMDocument(); $XSL->load( $xsltFile, LIBXML_NOCDATA); $xslt->importStylesheet( $XSL ); print $xslt->transformToXML( $XML ); My suspicion about the the errors is due to content. I'm not getting these errors with Firefox's XSLT rendering, nor am I getting an invalid XML document on the backend.I'm not getting errors on the load, its just on the transformToXML function. Does anyone have a clue on how to solve this? This is with PHP5.

  • Using Custom MapType with Google Maps API

    - by Pat Long - Munkii Yebee
    I realise there are a couple of examples such as Maoki's Add Your Own Custom Map and Mike Williams' [link text][Google Maps API Tutorial] however I have looked at these and still end up with a Grey box. The API will not call my "getTileUrl" callback function. This is the javascript I am using var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.setUIToDefault(); var copyCollection = new GCopyrightCollection('Map Data:'); var copyright = new GCopyright(1, new GLatLngBounds(new GLatLng(-90, -180), new GLatLng(90, 180)), 0, "©2006 RunwayFinder.com"); copyCollection.addCopyright(copyright); var tilelayers = [new GTileLayer(copyCollection, 3, 11)]; tilelayers[0].getTileUrl = function (a, b) { var z = 17 - b; var f = "http://localhost:25213/test.jpg?x=" + a.x + "&y=" + a.y + "&zoom=" + z + "&width=100&height=100"; return f; }; var custommap = new GMapType(tilelayers, new GMercatorProjection(12), "Chart", { errorMessage: "No chart data available" }); map.addMapType(custommap); Can anyone see what it is i am doing wrong?

  • Dealing with a null datetime element within xml using linq

    - by diver-d
    HI I have an example document that looks like <ItemEntry> <PurchaseDate>2010-03-18T20:36:32.81108+13:00</PurchaseDate> <StoreGUID>0a0324ad-5f99-486a-a2d0-870bc6991e9f</StoreGUID> <ExpiryDate /> <CardID>111111</CardID> <PurchaseAmount>0</PurchaseAmount> <RedeemedAmount /> <EntryType>1</EntryType> <RedeemedDate /> <SalesAssistantID>0</SalesAssistantID> </ItemEntry> As you can see there are couple of elements ExpiryDate and RedeemedDate are are empty. var q = from c in xml.Elements("ItemEntry") select new mdDetail { PurchaseDate = (DateTime)c.Element("PurchaseDate"), StoreGUID = (Guid)c.Element("StoreGUID"), ExpiryDate = (DateTime?)c.Element("ExpiryDate")??DateTime.MinValue, CardID = (int)c.Element("CardID"), PurchaseAmount = (double)c.Element("PurchaseAmount"), RedeemedAmount = (double?)c.Element("RedeemedAmount"), EntryType = (int)c.Element("EntryType"), RedeemedDate = (DateTime?)c.Element("RedeemedDate") ??DateTime.MinValue, SalesAssistantID = (int)c.Element("SalesAssistantID"), } ; foreach (var item in q) { } I am not sure how to deal with the null element value, I have tried ??DateTime.MinValue and ??null however both give me a " String was not recognized as a valid DateTime." error. Any suggestions? Thank you

  • ie7 preserve whitespace on dynamically injected text

    - by Rajat
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function init(){ document.getElementById('test2').innerHTML = '1 2'; } </script> <style type="text/css"> #test{ white-space:pre; } #test2{ white-space:pre; } </style> <title></title> </head> <body onload="init();"> <div id="test"> 1 2 </div> <div id="test2"></div> </body> </html> Here is an example page showing my problem. I have two divs. Each has this text '1 2' with white-space. The only difference is that one is injected dynamically and one is in the html itself. If you open the above page in IE7, the text in div test2 doesn't respect white space. How can i get the same behavior for the text that is dynamically injected?? P.S. My doctype is triggering standards mode on IE7.

  • MongoDB - proper use of collections?

    - by zmg
    In Mongo my understanding is that you can have databases and collections. I'm working on a social-type app that will have blogs and comments (among other things) and had previously be using MySQL and pretty heavy partitioning in an attempt to limit possible concurrency issues. With MySQL I've stuffed all my user data into a _user database with several tables to further partition the data (blogs, pages, etc). My immediate reaction with Mongo would be to create a 'users' database with one collection per user. In this way user 'zach' blog entries would go into the 'zach' collection with associated comments and such becoming sub-objects in the same collection. Basically like dynamically creating one table per user in MySQL, but apparently without the complexity and limitations that might impose. Of course since I haven't really used Mongo before I'm having trouble gauging the (ahem..) quality of this idea and the potential problems it might cause down the road. I'd like user data to be treated a lot like a users directory in a *nix environment where user created/non-shared (mostly) gets put into one place (currently with MySQL that would be the appname_users as mentioned above). Most of the users data will be specific to the users page(s). Some of the user data which is queried across all site users (searchable user profiles) is currently kept in a separate database/table and I expect things like this could be put into a appname_system database and be broken up into collections and/or application specific databases (appname_profiles). Anyway, since the available documentation on this is currently a little thin and my experience is extremely limited I thought I might find a little guidance from someone with a better working understanding of the system. On the plus side I'd really already been attempting to treat MySQL as a schema-less document-store and doing this with Mongo seems much more intuitive/sane/rational so I'm really looking forward to getting started. Thanks, Zach

  • Running ASP / ASP.NET markup outside of a web application (perhaps with MVC)

    - by Frank Schwieterman
    Is there a way to include some aspx/ascx markup in a DLL and use that to generate text dynamically? I really just want to pass a model instance to a view and get the produced html as a string. Similar to what you might do with an XSLT transform, except the transform input is a CLR object rather than an XML document. A second benefit is using the ASP.NET code-behind markup which is known by most team members. One way to achieve this would be to load the MVC view engine in-process and perhaps have it use an ASPX file from a resource. It seems like I could call into just the ViewEngine somehow and have it generate a ViewEngineResult. I don't know ASP.NET MVC well enough though to know what calls to make. I don't think this would be possible with classic ASP or ASP.NET as the control model is so tied to the page model, which doesn't exist in this case. Using something like SparkViewEngine in isolation would be cool too, though not as useful since other team members wouldn't know the syntax. At that point I might as well use XSLT (yes I am looking for a clever way to avoid XSLT).

  • Google Maps openInfoWindowHTML array problem

    - by user188791

Why is this and can someone help me with it? var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.addControl(new GSmallMapControl()); map.addControl(new GMapTypeControl()); map.setCenter(new GLatLng(47.6062, -122.3321), 8); var wa_locations = new Array(new Array("Seattle", "47.6062", "-122.3321", "###-###-####", "###-###-####"), new Array("Bellevue", "47.6104", "-122.2007", "###-###-####", "###-###-####"), new Array("Tacoma", "47.2529", "-122.4443", "###-###-####", "###-###-####"), new Array("Everett", "47.9790", "-122.2021", "###-###-####", "###-###-####")); for(var i = 0; i < wa_locations.length; i++) { var point = new GLatLng(wa_locations[i][1], wa_locations[i][2]); map.addOverlay(new GMarker(point)); GEvent.addListener(point, "click", function() { point.openInfoWindowHtml("<b>" + wa_locations[i][0] + "</b><br/>Sales: " + wa_locations[i][3] + "<br/>Helpdesk: " + wa_locations[i][4] + ""); }); }

  • Embedded non-relational (nosql) data store

    - by Igor Brejc
    I'm thinking about using/implementing some kind of an embedded key-value (or document) store for my Windows desktop application. I want to be able to store various types of data (GPS tracks would be one example) and of course be able to query this data. The amount of data would be such that it couldn't all be loaded into memory at the same time. I'm thinking about using sqlite as a storage engine for a key-value store, something like y-serial, but written in .NET. I've also read about FriendFeed's usage of MySQL to store schema-less data, which is a good pointer on how to use RDBMS for non-relational data. sqlite seems to be a good option because of its simplicity, portability and library size. My question is whether there are any other options for an embedded non-relational store? It doesn't need to be distributable and it doesn't have to support transactions, but it does have to be accessible from .NET and it should have a small download size. UPDATE: I've found an article titled SQLite as a Key-Value Database which compares sqlite with Berkeley DB, which is an embedded key-value store library.

  • What's a good Java API for creating Word documents?

    - by Bill James
    I have a new app I'll be working on where I have to generate a Word document that contains tables, graphs, a table of contents and text. What's a good API to use for this? How sure are you that it supports graphs, ToCs, and tables? What are some hidden gotcha's in using them? Some clarifications: I can't output a PDF, they want a Word doc. They're using MS Word 2003 (or 2007), not OpenOffice Application is running on *nix app-server It'd be nice if I could start with a template doc and just fill in some spaces with tables, graphs, etc. Thanks for the help. Edit: Several good answers below, each with their own faults as far as my current situation. Hard to pick a "final answer" from them. Think I'll leave it open, and hope for better solutions to be created. Edit: The OpenOffice UNO project does seem to be closest to what I asked for. While POI is certainly more mainstream, it's too immature for what I want.

  • Error returning Ajax in IE7

    - by GuiPereira
    Hi everybody! It's my first question here. First of all, sorry for my 'not perfect' english... I'm developing an ASP.NET MVC application with AJAX. I have the following code in the View: <% using(Html.BeginForm(null, "Home", FormMethod.Post, new{id="formcpf"})){ %> <p> <input name="tipo" type="radio" value="GeraCPF" /> CPF <input type="radio" name="tipo" value="GeraCNPJ" /> CNPJ </p> <p> <input type="submit" id="sbmt" value="Gerar" /> <br /><br /> <span id="lblCPF" class="respostaBG"></span> </p> <%} % and the following Javascript to call an Ajax request: $(document).ready(function() { $("form#formcpf").submit(function(event) { $(this).attr("action", $("input[@name='tipo']:checked").val()); event.preventDefault(); hijack(this, update_sessions, "html"); }); }); function hijack(form, callback, format) { $.ajax({ url: form.action, type: form.method, dataType: format, data: $(form).serialize(), success: callback }); } function update_sessions(result) { $("#lblCPF").html(result); } in Firefox and Chrome works fine, but in IE7 sometimes returns the value into the label, sometimes not. I have to keep submiting to get the return. Anyone could help?

  • Return and Save XML Object From Sharepoint List Web Service

    - by HurnsMobile
    I am trying to populate a variable with an XML response from an ajax call on page load so that on keyup I can filter through that list without making repeated get requests (think very rudimentary autocomplete). The trouble that I am having seems to be potentially related to variable scoping but I am fairly new to js/jQuery so I am not quite certain. The following code doesn't do anything on key up and adding alerts to it tells me that it is executing leadResults() on keyup and that the variable is returning an XML response object but it appears to be empty. The strange bit is that if I move the leadResults() call into the getResults() function the UL is populated with the results correctly. Im beating my head against the wall on this one, please help! var resultsXml; $(document).ready( function() { var leadLookupCaml = "<Query> \ <Where> \ <Eq> \ <FieldRef Name=\"Lead_x0020_Status\"/> \ <Value Type=\"Text\">Active</Value> \ </Eq> \ </Where> \ </Query>" $().SPServices({ operation: "GetListItems", webURL: "http://sharepoint/departments/sales", listName: "Leads", CAMLQuery: leadLookupCaml, CAMLRowLimit: 0, completefunc: getResults }); }) $("#lead_search").keyup( function(e) { leadResults(); }) function getResults(xData, status) { resultsXml = xData; } function leadResults() { xData = resultsXml; $("#lead_results li").remove(); $(xData.responseXML).find("z\\:row").each(function() { var selectHtml = "<li>" + "<a href=\"http://sharepoint/departments/sales/Lists/Lead%20Groups/DispForm.aspx?ID=" + $(this).attr("ows_ID") + ">" + $(this).attr("ows_Title")+" : " + $(this).attr("ows_Phone") + "</a>\ </li>"; $("#lead_results").append(selectHtml); }); }

  • Multiple responses from identical calls in asynch QUnit + Mockjax tests

    - by NickL
    I'm trying to test some jQuery ajax code using QUnit and Mockjax and have it return different JSON for different tests, like this: $(document).ready(function() { function functionToTest() { return $.getJSON('/echo/json/', { json: JSON.stringify({ "won't": "run" }) }); } module("first"); test("first test", function() { stop(); $.mockjax({ url: '/echo/json/', responseText: JSON.stringify({ hello: 'HEYO!' }) }); functionToTest().done(function(json) { ok(true, json.hello); start(); }); }); test("second test", function() { stop(); $.mockjax({ url: '/echo/json/', responseText: JSON.stringify({ hello: 'HELL NO!' }) }); functionToTest().done(function(json) { ok(true, json.hello); start(); }); }); }); Unfortunately it returns the same response for each call, and order can't be guaranteed, so was wondering how I could set it up so that it was coupled to the actual request and came up with this: $.mockjax({ url: '/echo/json/', response: function(settings) { if (JSON.parse(settings.data.json).order === 1) { this.responseText = JSON.stringify({ hello: 'HEYO!' }); } else { this.responseText = JSON.stringify({ hello: 'HELL NO!' }); } } }); This relies on parameters being sent to the server, but what about requests without parameters, where I still need to test different responses? Is there a way to use QUnit's setup/teardown to do this?

  • Odd DOM Problem with Firefox

    - by Bob
    Hello. I'm experiencing an odd problem when trying to navigate through a table's rows and cells in a while loop using javascript. I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Win7 with Firebug enabled. I have this markup: <table> <tbody> <tr id='firstRow'><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> </tbody> </table> And this javascript: var row = document.getElementById('firstRow'); console.log(row); // Row call 1 while (row) { console.log(row); // Row call 2 row = row.nextSibling; } The problem I'm having is that on the line commented "Row call 1", Firebug is outputting <tr id='firstRow'> as expected. However, in the while loop, Firebug is giving me <tr id='firstRow'> <TextNode textContent="\n"> It is giving me different output for the exact same row, even immediately after the while loop begins executing and nothing else touched the row. For subsequent rows, it of course does not have id='firstRow' as an attribute. The bigger problem this is giving me is that if I'm in the while loop, and I want to access a particular cell of the current row using row.cells[0], Firebug will give me an error that row.cells is undefined. I want to know if someone could shed some light on this situation I am experiencing.

  • How can I get at the raw bytes of the request in WCF?

    - by Gregory Higley
    For logging purposes, I want to get at the raw request sent to my RESTful web service implemented in WCF. I have already implemented IDispatchMessageInspector. In my implementation of AfterReceiveRequest, I want to spit out the raw bytes of the message even (and especially) if the content of the message is invalid. This is for debugging purposes. My service works perfectly already, but it is often helpful when working through problems with clients who are trying to call the service to know what it was they sent, i.e., the raw bytes. For example, let's say that instead of sending a well-formed XML document, they post the string "your mama" to my service endpoint. I want to see that that's what they did. Unfortunately using MessageBuffer::CreateBufferedCopy() won't work unless the contents of the message are already well-formed XML. Here's (roughly) what I already have in my implementation of AfterReceiveRequest: // The immediately following line raises an exception if the message // does not contain valid XML. This is uncool because I want // the raw bytes regardless of whether they are valid or not. using (MessageBuffer buffer = request.CreateBufferedCopy(Int32.MaxValue)) { using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream()) using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(stream)) { buffer.WriteMessage(stream); stream.Position = 0; Trace.TraceInformation(reader.ReadToEnd()); } request = buffer.CreateMessage(); } My guess here is that I need to get at the raw request before it becomes a Message. This will most likely have to be done at a lower level in the WCF stack than an IDispatchMessageInspector. Anyone know how to do this?

    Hi folks, I've made a simple custom control: base.Style[HtmlTextWriterStyle.Position] = "absolute"; if (this.Expanded) // If the Calendar is expanded. this.Style[HtmlTextWriterStyle.Display] = "block"; else this.Style[HtmlTextWriterStyle.Display] = "none"; //create the containing table Panel pnl = new Panel(); pnl.ID = "pnl_" + this.ClientID; pnl.Enabled = true; SherlockIIITextBox txtCalendar = new SherlockIIITextBox(); txtCalendar.ID = "Cal_" + this.ClientID; pnl.Controls.Add(txtCalendar); ImageButton imgButton = new ImageButton(); imgButton.ImageUrl = ""; imgButton.ID = "img_" + this.ClientID; imgButton.BorderStyle = BorderStyle.NotSet; imgButton.OnClientClick = "o = document.getElementById('" + this.ClientID + "');if (o.style.display=='none'){o.style.display='block';}else{o.style.display='none';}"; pnl.Controls.Add(imgButton); pnl.RenderControl(writer); When I click the ImageButton it should render the calendar. But when I click the ImageButton nothing happens. Anyone got an idea?

  • What is usefulness of W3C's "Semantic Data Extractor" in semantically correct XHTML CSS Development?

    - by metal-gear-solid
    What is the usefulness of W3C's Semantic Data Extractor? http://www.w3.org/2003/12/semantic-extractor.html This tool, geared by an XSLT stylesheet, tries to extract some information from a HTML semantic rich document. It only uses information available through a good usage of the semantics defined in HTML. The aim is to show that providing a semantically rich HTML gives much more value to your code: using a semantically rich HTML code allows a better use of CSS, makes your HTML intelligible to a wider range of user agents (especially search engines bots). As an aside, it can give clues to user agents developers on some hooks that could be interesting to add in their product. After checking validation for CSS and HTML. Should i go for Semantic Data Extractor tool. What it does. and how it can improved our coding.? Is anyone using it? And i check some site randomly with but with most of sites it gives error Using org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser Exception net.sf.saxon.trans.XPathException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "input" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "`</input>`". org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "input" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "`</input>`". Is it possible to get pass every site with this tool? on one site i got this error No top-level heading (h1) found, no outline extracted. Is it necessary to have at least a H1 in any webpage?

  • html - selection range - getting the range + starting node + ending node + distance

    - by sugar
    From my previous question for selecting specific html text, I have gone through this link to understand range in html string. Actually I am confused here very much. My question is as follows. For selecting a specific text on html page. We need to follow this steps. assumed html <h4 id="entry1196"><a href="http://radar.oreilly.com/archives/2007/03/call_for_a_blog_1.html" class="external">Call for a Blogger's Code of Conduct</a></h4> <p>Tim O'Reilly calls for a Blogger Code of Conduct. His proposals are:</p> <ol> <li>Take responsibility not just for your own words, but for the comments you allow on your blog.</li> <li>Label your tolerance level for abusive comments.</li> <li>Consider eliminating anonymous comments.</li> </ol> java script to make selection by range var range = document.createRange(); // create range var startPar = [the p node]; // starting parameter var endLi = [the second li node]; // ending parameter range.setStart(startPar,13); // distance from starting parameter. range.setEnd(endLi,17); // distance from ending parameter range.select(); // this statement will make selection I want to do this in invert way. I mean, assume that selection is done by user on browser (safari). My question is that How can we get starting node ( as we have 'the p node' here ) & ending node ( as we have 'the second li node' here ) and the range as well (as we have 13,17 here) ? Please help me. Thanks in advance for sharing your great knowledge. Sagar
