When I click a command button, and then hit the browser back button to the form and click it again, it submits a second time without throwing the proper exception... Even stranger, the form id itself is DIFFERENT when I come back, which implies it has regenerated a "valid" form id at some point. The reRenderList is empty in my current test-case. onActivationComplete is also empty. I'm going to be going template-by-template to see if someone made it with nested forms, because my coworkers have had unrelated problems due to that, so it couldn't hurt to eliminate that as a possible problem.

SQL Server SELECT stored procedure according to combobox.selectedvalue

In order to fill a datagridview according to the selectedvalue of a combobox I've tried creating a stored procedure. However, as I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, depending on the WHERE statement at the end of my stored procedure, it either returns everything within the table or nothing at all. How to disable auto-generated WCF configuration

Every time my program runs vs adds the default configuration to my app.config file. At that run it works fine, but at the next run it actually tries to read the config. The problem is that the default configuration has errors, it adds the attribute "Address", but attritbutes are not allowed to have capitals so it throws an exception. This means I have to remove the bad section every run! I've tried to configure the .config but it gives errors. Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.

No feedback from Socket.SendAsync

I'm creating a socket and I'm trying to send data through it using SendAsync. My socket isn't connected to anything so I expected to get an error of some sort. However I get nothing. I get no indication that the send didn't work. If I use the synchronous Send method instead of the asynchronous SendAsync method I get an Exception stating that the socket isn't connected to anything. That makes sense to me. When using SendAsync the completed event doesn't ever fire and I get no indication that the send didn't work. So basically my question is how can I tell when SendAsync fails? Alternate cause of BadImageFormatException in .NET Assembly?

I'm working on a .NET 3.5 console application in C# which uses a VC++ unmanaged DLL. It ran without a problem when I worked on it a few weeks ago, but I'm coming back to it today and am now getting a BadImageFormatException ("An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)). My development workstation is running 64bit Windows 7, and I do a fair amount of work with unmanaged code, so I immediately checked that the .NET assembly and the VC++ library both had x86 targets. They did. Just to be sure, I cleaned and rebuilt the VC++ library and the .NET assembly, to no avail. Neither system is doing anything particularly unusual. The VC++ library loads a binary data file and does some mathematical processing on its contents. The .NET assembly has the DllImports for the library and some code to wire it up. This all worked a few weeks ago. So now I'm left wondering if there's some other cause of BadImageFormatException that's less common than an x86/x64 conflict that I might be running into. Thanks.

Execute SQL on CSV files via JDBC

Dear all, I need to apply an SQL query to CSV files (comma-separated text files). My SQL is predefined from another tool, and is not eligible to change. It may contain embedded selects and table aliases in the FROM part. For my task I have found two open-source (this is a project requirement) libraries that provide JDBC drivers: CsvJdbc XlSQL JBoss Teiid Create an Apache Derby DB, load all CSVs as tables and execute the query. These are the problems I encountered: it does not accept the syntax of the SQL (it uses internal selects and table aliases). Furthermore, it has not been maintained since 2004. I could not get it to work, as it has as dependency a SAX Parser that causes exception when parsing other documents. Similarly, no change since 2004. Have not checked if it supports the syntax, but seems like an overhead. It needs several entities defines (Virtual Databases, Bindings). From the mailing list they told me that last release supports runtime creation of required objects. Has anyone used it for such simple task (normally it can connect to several types of data, like CSV, XML or other DBS and create a virtual, unified one)? Can this even be done easily? From the 4 things I considered/tried, only 3 and 4 seem to me viable. Any advice on these, or any other way in which I can query my CSV files? Cheers

security negotiation with the remote endpoint has failed. Converting an integer to a boxed enum type only known at runtime

Imagine we have an enum: enum Foo { A=1,B=2,C=3 } If the type is known at compile-time, a direct cast can be used to change between the enum-type and the underlying type (usually int): static int GetValue() { return 2; } ... Foo foo = (Foo)GetValue(); // becomes Foo.B And boxing this gives a box of type Foo: object o1 = foo; Console.WriteLine(o1.GetType().Name); // writes Foo (and indeed, you can box as Foo and unbox as int, or box as int and unbox as Foo quite happily) However (the problem); if the enum type is only known at runtime things are... trickier. It is obviously trivial to box it as an int - but can I box it as Foo? (Ideally without using generics and MakeGenericMethod, which would be ugly). Convert.ChangeType throws an exception. ToString and Enum.Parse works, but is horribly inefficient. I could look at the defined values (Enum.GetValues or Type.GetFields), but that is very hard for [Flags], and even without would require getting back to the underlying-type first (which isn't as hard, thankfully). But; is there a more direct to get from a value of the correct underlying-type to a box of the enum-type, where the type is only known at runtime?

Django upload failing on request data read error

Hi All, I've got a Django app that accepts uploads from jQuery uploadify, a jQ plugin that uses flash to upload files and give a progress bar. Files under about 150k work, but bigger files always fail and almost always at around 192k (that's 3 chunks) completed, sometimes at around 160k. What computer science topic am I trying to describe?

I've been programming for around... 6-8 years, and I've begun to realize that I don't really know what really happens at the low-ish level when I do something like int i = j%348 The thing is, I know what j%348 does, it divides j by 348 and finds the remainder. What I don't know is HOW the computer does this. Similarly, I know that try { blah(); }catch(Exception e){ blah2(); } will invoke blah and if blah throws, it will invoke blah2... however, I have no idea how the computer does this instead of err... crashing or ending execution. And I figure that in order for me to get "better" at programming, I should probably know what my code is really doing. [This would probably also help me optimize and... err... not do stupid things] I figure that what I'm asking for is probably something huge taught in universities or something, but to be honest, if I could learn a little, I would be happy. The point of the question is: What topic/computer-science-course am I asking about? Because in all honesty, I don't know. Since I don't know what the topic is called, I'm unable to actually find a book or online resource to learn about the topic, so I'm sort of stuck. I'd be eternally thankful if someone helped me =/

JConsole does not connect when a program (running in eclipse) is waiting for a console input

Hi, I have a problem similar to the one mentioned here. I have a program which launches a selenium browser and refreshes it every 2 seconds. My idea here was to monitor the memory usage of my application as the page is being hit. This console program does a "System.in.read" and when a user presses enter key, this stops the browser refresh thread. I run the program and it runs as I would expect it to. But when I fire jconsole and attach it to the process, it looks like jconsole waits forever to attach. This is because of the "System.in.read", apparently as shown in the JConsole source. In my code it makes perfect sense for me to terminte the browser when user presses something so is there any alternative available at all ? As far as I can tell, the paging is working, but I can't get the data to be certain. The database is a Microsoft Access database. How to mock the Request.ServerVariables using MOQ for ASP.NET MVC?

hi guys, i'm just learning to put in unit testing for my asp.net mvc when i came to learn about the mock and the different frameworks there is out there now. after checking SO, i found that MOQ seems to be the easiest to pick up. as of now i'm stuck trying to mock the Request.ServerVariables, as after reading this post, i've learned that it's better to abstract them into property. as such: /// <summary> /// Return the server port /// </summary> protected string ServerPort { get { return Request.ServerVariables.Get("SERVER_PORT"); } } But i'm having a hard time learning how to properly mock this. I have a home controller ActionResult function which grabs the user server information and proceed to create a form to grab the user's information. i tried to use hanselman's mvcmockhelpers class but i'm not sure how to use it. this is what i have so far... Problem with .Contains

Hello there, I have a little problem which i can't solve. I want to use an SQL-In-Statement in Linq. I've read in this Forum and in other Forums that I have to use the .Contains (with reverse-thinking-notation :-)). As input i have a List of Guids. I first copied them into an array and then did something like that : datatoget = (from p in objectContext.MyDataSet where ArrayToSearch.Contains(p.Subtable.Id.ToString()) select p).ToList(); datatoget is the result in which all records matching the Subtable.Id (which is a Guid) should be stored. Subtable is a Detail-Table from MyData, and the Id is a Guid-Type. I've tried several things (Convert Guid to String, and then using .Contains, etc), but I always get an Exception which says : 'Linq to Entities' doesn't recognize the Method 'Boolean Contains(System.Guid) and is not able to Translate this method into a memory expression. (Something like that, because I'm using the German Version of VS2008) I am using L2E with .NET 3.5 and am programming in C# with VS 2008. I've read several Examples, but it doesn't work. Is it perhaps because of using Guid's instead of strings ? I've also tried to write my own compare-function, but I don't know how to integrate it so that .NET calls my function for comparing.

ObjectDataSource.Select with Parameters Time Out

I'm using an ObjectDataSource with a 2008 ReportViewer control and Linq to CSV. The ODS has two parameters (the SQL is spelled out in an XSD file with a table adapter). The Reportviewer takes a very long time to render the output after a button is clicked to generate the report. That's my first problem. Even though it works (most of the time), the processing time worries me, and subsequent requests don't seem to be changing the results shown on the screen. The next issue is that when I go to export the ODS to CSV I'm getting a time out exception on the select method of the ODS (shown below). This works for ODS without parameters, but it seems like now that I've added parameters that it doesn't want to cooperate.
