  • how do you get qTip to have proper width when loading content via ajax

    - by ooo
    i have an asp.net mvc site and here is a dynamic tooltip using qTip Here is my code: $('a.showNutritionInfo').each(function() { $(this).qtip({ content: { text: '<img src="../../images/ajax-loader1.gif" alt="" />', style: { width: 450 }, url: '/Tracker/NutritionInfo/' + $(this).attr('id'), method: 'get' } }); }); this works perfectly EXCEPT the width attribute listed above is ignored. No matter what i put in that width attribute, i get the same size width tooltip which is about half of the width that i need. the height is perfectly fine. any ideas? is this a bug in the product ?

  • Using Handlebars.js issue

    - by Roland
    I'm having a small issue when I'm compiling a template with Handlebars.js . I have a JSON text file which contains an big array with objects : Source ; and I'm using XMLHTTPRequest to get it and then parse it so I can use it when compiling the template. So far the template has the following structure : <div class="product-listing-wrapper"> <div class="product-listing"> <div class="left-side-content"> <div class="thumb-wrapper"> <img src="{{ThumbnailUrl}}"> </div> <div class="google-maps-wrapper"> <div class="google-coordonates-wrapper"> <div class="google-coordonates"> <p>{{LatLon.Lat}}</p> <p>{{LatLon.Lon}}</p> </div> </div> <div class="google-maps-button"> <a class="google-maps" href="#" data-latitude="{{LatLon.Lat}}" data-longitude="{{LatLon.Lon}}">Google Maps</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="right-side-content"></div> </div> And the following block of code would be the way I'm handling the JS part : $(document).ready(function() { /* Default Javascript Options ~a javascript object which contains all the variables that will be passed to the cluster class */ var default_cluster_options = { animations : ['flash', 'bounce', 'shake', 'tada', 'swing', 'wobble', 'wiggle', 'pulse', 'flip', 'flipInX', 'flipOutX', 'flipInY', 'flipOutY', 'fadeIn', 'fadeInUp', 'fadeInDown', 'fadeInLeft', 'fadeInRight', 'fadeInUpBig', 'fadeInDownBig', 'fadeInLeftBig', 'fadeInRightBig', 'fadeOut', 'fadeOutUp', 'fadeOutDown', 'fadeOutLeft', 'fadeOutRight', 'fadeOutUpBig', 'fadeOutDownBig', 'fadeOutLeftBig', 'fadeOutRightBig', 'bounceIn', 'bounceInUp', 'bounceInDown', 'bounceInLeft', 'bounceInRight', 'bounceOut', 'bounceOutUp', 'bounceOutDown', 'bounceOutLeft', 'bounceOutRight', 'rotateIn', 'rotateInDownLeft', 'rotateInDownRight', 'rotateInUpLeft', 'rotateInUpRight', 'rotateOut', 'rotateOutDownLeft', 'rotateOutDownRight', 'rotateOutUpLeft', 'rotateOutUpRight', 'lightSpeedIn', 'lightSpeedOut', 'hinge', 'rollIn', 'rollOut'], json_data_url : 'data.json', template_data_url : 'template.php', base_maps_api_url : 'https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false', cluser_wrapper_id : '#content-wrapper', maps_wrapper_class : '.google-maps', }; /* Cluster ~main class, handles all javascript operations */ var Cluster = function(environment, cluster_options) { var self = this; this.options = $.extend({}, default_cluster_options, cluster_options); this.environment = environment; this.animations = this.options.animations; this.json_data_url = this.options.json_data_url; this.template_data_url = this.options.template_data_url; this.base_maps_api_url = this.options.base_maps_api_url; this.cluser_wrapper_id = this.options.cluser_wrapper_id; this.maps_wrapper_class = this.options.maps_wrapper_class; this.test_environment_mode(this.environment); this.initiate_environment(); this.test_xmlhttprequest_availability(); this.initiate_gmaps_lib_load(self.base_maps_api_url); this.initiate_data_processing(); }; /* Test Environment Mode ~adds a modernizr test which looks wheater the cluster class is initiated in development or not */ Cluster.prototype.test_environment_mode = function(environment) { var self = this; return Modernizr.addTest('test_environment', function() { return (typeof environment !== 'undefined' && environment !== null && environment === "Development") ? true : false; }); }; /* Test XMLHTTPRequest Availability ~adds a modernizr test which looks wheater the xmlhttprequest class is available or not in the browser, exception makes IE */ Cluster.prototype.test_xmlhttprequest_availability = function() { return Modernizr.addTest('test_xmlhttprequest', function() { return (typeof window.XMLHttpRequest === 'undefined' || window.XMLHttpRequest === null) ? true : false; }); }; /* Initiate Environment ~depending on what the modernizr test returns it puts LESS in the development mode or not */ Cluster.prototype.initiate_environment = function() { return (Modernizr.test_environment) ? So what am I doing wrong that it makes the same number repeat ? Or what should I do to fix it ? I must notice that I've just started working with templates so I have little knowledge it.

  • Mouseup not working after mousemove on img

    - by leyou
    I'm trying to do a simple drag script. The idea is to save the position when the mouse is down, update the view while the mouse is moving, and stop when mouse is up. Problem, mouseup event isn't working properly. See the code: var target = $('a') var pos = 0; var dragging = false; $(document).mousedown(function(e) { pos=e.pageX; dragging = true }) $(document).mouseup(function() { dragging = false }) $(document).mousemove(function(e) { if(dragging){ target.css('left', e.pageX-pos); } }) ? Why mouseup works with a "a" tag: http://jsfiddle.net/leyou/c3TrG/1/ And why mouseup doesn't work with a "img" tag: http://jsfiddle.net/leyou/eNwzv/ Just try to drag them horizontally. Same probleme on ie9, ff and chrome.

  • Pass param to a silverlight application

    - by Lucas_Santos
    In my javascript I create my <OBJECT> tag var htmlEmbedSilverlight = "<div id='silverlightControlHost'> " + "<object data='data:application/x-silverlight-2,' type='application/x-silverlight-2' width='550px' height='250px'> " + "<param name='source' value='../../ClientBin/FotoEmprestimoChave.xap'/> " + "<param name='onError' value='onSilverlightError' /> " + "<param name='background' value='white' /> " + "<param name='minRuntimeVersion' value='4.0.60310.0' /> " + "<param name='autoUpgrade' value='true' /> " + "<param name='initparams' values='chave_id=" + data + "' /> " + "<a href='http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=149156&v=4.0.60310.0' style='text-decoration:none'> " + "<img src='http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=161376' alt='Get Microsoft Silverlight' style='border-style:none'/> " + "</a> " + "</object><iframe id='_sl_historyFrame' style='visibility:hidden;height:0px;width:0px;border:0px'></iframe></div>"; $("#tiraFotoSilverlight").html(htmlEmbedSilverlight); This is a reference to my Silverlight application where I call in my Web Application. The problem is my <param name='initparams' values='chave_id=" + data + "' /> " because in my App.xaml in Silverlight, I have the code below private void Application_Startup(object sender, StartupEventArgs e) { if (e.InitParams != null) { foreach (var item in e.InitParams) { this.Resources.Add(item.Key, item.Value); } } this.RootVisual = new MainPage(); } Where InitParams always has Count = 0 and I don't know why. Can someone help me ? I'm just trying to pass a value to my Silverlight application, without a PostBack.   • Phonegap jqm mixing local and server html files

    - by DavidVdd
    I would like to add some online pages to an application keep them up to date without releasing a new store version. For this I taught I could use jqm ajax navigation to load the external page. (I'm aware that might not be allowed for all platforms.) I have set: $.mobile.allowCrossDomainPages = true; $.mobile.pushStateEnabled = false; This seems to work but the problem is that all my href's and $.mobile.ChangePages would have to be changed to <a href='http://mydomain.com/mypage.html'>link</a> $.mobile.changePage('http://mydomain.com/mypage.html'); in stead of <a href='mypage.html'>link</a> $.mobile.changePage('http://mydomain.com/mypage.html'); I was thinking about overriding the changepage method(found this somewhere) to add a domain when the user is online, but the problem is that this method get's called more then once. var originalChangePage = $.mobile.changePage; $.mobile.changePage = function(to, options) { var o = JSON.stringify(o); try { to = to.replace('file:///android_asset/www/', 'http://mydomain.com/'); } catch (err) { //to isn't always filled in. } originalChangePage(to, options); }; Is there a better way to load html pages locally and online using jqm ajax navigation? Extra info: Phonegap/Cordova version 3.5.0 jqm 1.3.2

  • Image not loading from cache after it's loaded in an iframe

    - by Amir
    I'm loading an image in an iframe and then (once the iframe is loaded) loading the image on the page. But most browsers seem to be loading the image twice. Why isn't the img tag being loading from the cache? Something like this: var loader = $('<iframe />').appendTo('body')[0]; loader.onload = function() { $('body').append('<img src="' + imgsrc + '" />'); }; loader.src = imgsrc; http://jsfiddle.net/amirshim/na3UA/ I'm using fiddler2 to see the network traffic. In case you want to know why I want to do this, check out this question

  • PHP / javascript live chat using too much bandwidth

    - by David
    So I am learning about javascript, so I am making a live chat system with PHP and javascript. I have it so the javascript refreshes the log (each message gets logged in a file on the server), and it refreshes every second. Im using firebug to monitor the resource usage, and I see under the net tab each times its updated, and the bytes add up really fast. I know I can change it to update less, but is there a way that when a user on the other end I'm talking to, when the send a message, it gets sent to the server, then an alert gets sent to me saying that the chatlog needs to update somehow. That way it only updates when the log is updated. let me know, thanks

  • Javascript and VERY LONG string

    - by StealthRT
    Hey all, i am having problems with the below code: function showTableData() { var tableArray; var x = 0; var theHTML; for (i = 0; i < 7032; i++) { if (x = 0) { theHTML = '<tr>' + '<th scope="row" class="spec">' + partNum[i] + '</th>' + '<td>' + Msrp[i] + '</td>' + '<td>' + blah[i] + '</td>' + '<td>' + blahs[i] + '</td>' + '</tr>' + theHTML; x++; }else{ theHTML = '<tr>' + '<th scope="row" class="specalt">' + partNum[i] + '</th>' + '<td class="alt">' + Msrp[i] + '</td>' + '<td class="alt">' + blah[i] + '</td>' + '<td class="alt">' + blahs[i] + '</td>' + '</tr>' + theHTML; x--; } } theHTML = '<table id="mytable" cellspacing="0">' + '<tr>' + '<th scope="col" abbr="Configurations" class="nobg">Part Number</th>' + '<th scope="col" abbr="Dual 1.8">Msrp Price</th>' + '<th scope="col" abbr="Dual 2">blahs Price</th>' + '<th scope="col" abbr="Dual 2.5">Low Price</th>' + '</tr>' + theHTML + '</table>'; $('#example').append(theHTML); } </script> <div id="example"> </div> The problem being that the $('#example').append(theHTML); never executes (or shows on the page). I think its because the string is soooooo long! It has over 7,000 items in the array so im not sure if thats the reason or if its something else? Any help would be great! Thanks! David

  • How do I get only two form fields to show instead of all 5 on initial page load? CSS

    - by marcamillion
    Here is the implementation: http://jsfiddle.net/AdQfB/2/ If you notice, when you click 'Login' or 'Register' before entering anything, you should see a few fields disappear and re-appear respectively. I would like for this page to display the view of just the two fields on the first load (rather than the current 5 it shows on first load), then when the user clicks the 'register' link, it shows the other 3 - for a total of 5. How do I do that? Thanks

  • Get ID of clicked on element in function

    - by skerit
    I want to get the ID of an element I click on. I put the function in the onclick element, like this: <a id="myid" class="first active" onclick="markActiveLink();" href="#home">Home</a> And this is in the function: function markActiveLink() { alert($(this).attr("id")); } This doesn't work, as it says it isn't defined. Does it really forget about the ID, do I have to type it in the onclick?

    - by Ravex
    Hi guys. i'm stuck with my table. need create toggle rows function. but i no idea how to find sub rows in table. Some one can help me? I have table with many rows 500 All Rows have class="row-1,row-2.....row-600 etc" And all main rows also have class="parent" between each "parent" rows i have 6 rows So i need for toggle/collapse purposes find all (sub)rows betwen parent rows. and add class with id like in prevous parent row. • Patching this Code to apply dynamic (iPhone) background position

    - by Brian
    I posted a question previously that got off topic, I'm reposting with better code that I have VERIFIED is compatible with iPhone (it works with mine anyway!) I just want to apply background-position coordinates to the body element and call the script conditionally for iPhone, iPod, & iPad. Here's my conditional call for those devices: var deviceAgent = navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase(); var agentID = deviceAgent.match(/(iphone|ipod|ipad)/); if (agentID) { // do something } else { //do this } Now, I've found this excellent script that sets the "top: x" dynamically on the basis of scroll position. Everyone has told me (and ALL of the tutorials and Google search results as well) that it's impossible to set scroll position dynamically for iPhone because of the viewport issue. HOWEVER, they are wrong because if you scroll to the bottom of the page and view this javascript demo on iPhone, you can scroll and the <div style="background-position: fixed; top: x (variable)"></div> div DOES stay centered on iPhone. I really hope this question helps alot of people, I thought it was impossible, but it's NOT... I just need help stitching it together! The original code (you can test it on iPhone yourself) is here: http://stevenbenner.com/2010/04/calculate-page-size-and-view-port-position-in-javascript/ So I just need help getting the following code to apply the dynamic "background-position: 0 x" to the BODY tag where x is centered and relative to the viewport position. Also, needs to be nested inside the above code that is conditional for iPhone and similar devices. // Page Size and View Port Dimension Tools // http://stevenbenner.com/2010/04/calculate-page-size-and-view-port-position-in-javascript/ if (!sb_windowTools) { var sb_windowTools = new Object(); }; sb_windowTools = { scrollBarPadding: 17, // padding to assume for scroll bars // EXAMPLE METHODS // center an element in the viewport centerElementOnScreen: function(element) { var pageDimensions = this.updateDimensions(); element.style.top = ((this.pageDimensions.verticalOffset() + this.pageDimensions.windowHeight() / 2) - (this.scrollBarPadding + element.offsetHeight / 2)) + 'px'; element.style.left = ((this.pageDimensions.windowWidth() / 2) - (this.scrollBarPadding + element.offsetWidth / 2)) + 'px'; element.style.position = 'absolute'; }, // INFORMATION GETTERS // load the page size, view port position and vertical scroll offset updateDimensions: function() { this.updatePageSize(); this.updateWindowSize(); this.updateScrollOffset(); }, // load page size information updatePageSize: function() { // document dimensions var viewportWidth, viewportHeight; if (window.innerHeight && window.scrollMaxY) { viewportWidth = document.body.scrollWidth; viewportHeight = window.innerHeight + window.scrollMaxY; } else if (document.body.scrollHeight > document.body.offsetHeight) { // all but explorer mac viewportWidth = document.body.scrollWidth; viewportHeight = document.body.scrollHeight; } else { // explorer mac...would also work in explorer 6 strict, mozilla and safari viewportWidth = document.body.offsetWidth; viewportHeight = document.body.offsetHeight; }; this.pageSize = { viewportWidth: viewportWidth, viewportHeight: viewportHeight }; }, // load window size information updateWindowSize: function() { // view port dimensions var windowWidth, windowHeight; if (self.innerHeight) { // all except explorer windowWidth = self.innerWidth; windowHeight = self.innerHeight; } else if (document.documentElement && document.documentElement.clientHeight) { // explorer 6 strict mode windowWidth = document.documentElement.clientWidth; windowHeight = document.documentElement.clientHeight; } else if (document.body) { // other explorers windowWidth = document.body.clientWidth; windowHeight = document.body.clientHeight; }; this.windowSize = { windowWidth: windowWidth, windowHeight: windowHeight }; }, // load scroll offset information updateScrollOffset: function() { // viewport vertical scroll offset var horizontalOffset, verticalOffset; if (self.pageYOffset) { horizontalOffset = self.pageXOffset; verticalOffset = self.pageYOffset; } else if (document.documentElement && document.documentElement.scrollTop) { // Explorer 6 Strict horizontalOffset = document.documentElement.scrollLeft; verticalOffset = document.documentElement.scrollTop; } else if (document.body) { // all other Explorers horizontalOffset = document.body.scrollLeft; verticalOffset = document.body.scrollTop; }; this.scrollOffset = { horizontalOffset: horizontalOffset, verticalOffset: verticalOffset }; }, // INFORMATION CONTAINERS // raw data containers pageSize: {}, windowSize: {}, scrollOffset: {}, // combined dimensions object with bounding logic pageDimensions: { pageWidth: function() { return sb_windowTools.pageSize.viewportWidth > sb_windowTools.windowSize.windowWidth ? sb_windowTools.pageSize.viewportWidth : sb_windowTools.windowSize.windowWidth; }, pageHeight: function() { return sb_windowTools.pageSize.viewportHeight > sb_windowTools.windowSize.windowHeight ? sb_windowTools.pageSize.viewportHeight : sb_windowTools.windowSize.windowHeight; }, windowWidth: function() { return sb_windowTools.windowSize.windowWidth; }, windowHeight: function() { return sb_windowTools.windowSize.windowHeight; }, horizontalOffset: function() { return sb_windowTools.scrollOffset.horizontalOffset; }, verticalOffset: function() { return sb_windowTools.scrollOffset.verticalOffset; } } };

  • How to get rid of the 'progress' cursor?

    - by Ivan
    I have an interval that launches an AJAX call to check if there is any update for the page (I imagine that it's similar to the mechanism used by Facebook or StackExchange to check for new notifications). The problem is that this call changes the cursor to the 'progress' or 'busy' cursor (visual problem) and disables to option to click on links (functional problem). I suppose both problems are related. How can get rid of this effect or at least minimize the consequences? Some code: setInterval(function() { try { var mid = $($("ul#alert-messages li.regular")[0]).attr('ref'); call_ajax('/load_alerts', {num:0, id:mid}, function (data) { if (data.ok) { for (var i=0; i<data.result.length; i++) { // .... } // ... } }, function() {}, // Do not show any error for this!! false); // Do not change cursor! } catch (e) {} }, 15000); function call_ajax(url, data, fnSuccess, fnError) { $.ajax({ 'url': url, 'type': 'POST', 'data': data, 'dataType': "json", 'success' : function(data) { if (fnSuccess) { fnSuccess(data); } else { if (typeof data.msg != 'undefined') { topBar(data.msg, typeof data.ok != 'undefined' && data.ok? 'message' : 'error'); } } }, error : function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { console.log(errorThrown); if (fnError) { fnError(STR_ERROR_AJAX + textStatus); } else { topBar(STR_ERROR_AJAX + textStatus, 'error'); } } }); }

I cant figure out if its because its asynchronous or because the variable is out of scope.

  • "Intercepting" user input into text box and removing it

    - by James P
    I have a text box that I would like to do some validation on. At the moment I have this code: function updateChanger() { // Validate input var likeMessage = validateInput($("#like").val()); alert(likeMessage); } function validateInput(input) { input = input.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9:\(\/\)\s\.,!~]/g, ""); return input; } This successfully trims out unwanted characters in the likeMessage variable, but the character still gets entered into the text box. I would like to stop that from happening. I know it will have something to do with $("#like").val() but the only thing I can think of is just chopping off the end character from the text box value, would this suffice? Thanks for any help!

    Can someone please guide me regarding which touch framework (javascript) I should use to make a tablet app? I am new to this area and I am looking for something which allows me to play with my own UI design comfortably. I went through sencha as I heard its apt for a tablet app environment but I am (sorry, it might sound odd) not able to make out whether I can use my own UI design to make app in sencha. Or any other framework (stable) allows to use custom UI design?? Any help regarding this is appreciated .. thanks in advance

  • Including a minified js code in another js library

    - by Nir
    I want to incorporate a minified javascript library (for example http://sizzlejs.com/) into my own non minified javascript library. The reason is that my library plugs into other websites and I don't want to ask them to include the extra library (sizzle) as well. Is there a way to include a minified library in a non minified library and have them both in one js file?

  • Switching layouts page jumping (improvement to script)

    - by Ricardo Zea
    Hello, I'm using this script to switch layouts in a page: $("span.switcher").click(function () { $("span.switcher").toggleClass("swap"); /*!*/ $("ol.search-results").fadeOut("fast", function() { $(this).fadeIn("fast").toggleClass("grid"); }); The script works fine, the problem I have is that if the switch view is down the page, the layout changes and then the page jumps back up. If I add 'return false' right where you see the /* ! */ in the second line the script doesn't work. Also, as you can see, I'm using < span instead of < a since I was told that using other element other than < a would stop the page from jumping. Any idea how to fix the jumping of the page? Thanks.
