  Hi all, I have large text in System.Windows.Forms.TextBox control in my form (winforms), vs 2008. I want find a text, and select the line number where I've found that text. • Facebox adding commas to input

  I'm using a facebox to display a form inside a lightbox, nothing too exciting (just a couple of datepickers, some textboxes and a checkbox). However, I'm having issues with the postbacks, whenever I post back from the facebox it adds a ',' to the start of the input (so "rabbit" becomes ",rabbit") Now, I saw that there was the same issue with the modalpopup extender from the ajaxcontroltoolkit, so I assume it's a common issue. Can anyone either explain why this is happening, or tell me how to fix it? provide a decent way of fixing this? I have actually done it, and it works very nicely, but I don't really want to answer my own bounty question so someone else give it a go!   My ASP.NET application runs in IIS on my web server and uses Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Beta 2. (Its Application Pool is set to .NET Framework version .NET Framework v4.0.21006.) It gives this new error: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client... This is due to a breaking change in .NET 4. To revert to the behavior of the ASP.NET 2.0 request validation feature, I added the following setting in the Web.config file: <httpRuntime requestValidationMode="2.0" /> Now Visual Studio 2008 throws a compile-time error: The 'requestValidationMode' attribute is not declared. And I can no longer debug on my development machine using the ASP.NET Development Server that comes with Visual Studio. I need Visual Studio and its ASP.NET Development Server to recognize the new .NET Framework 4 requestValidationMode attribute. How can I debug my application in .NET 4? Must I switch from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2?

• javascript textbox call event when value changes

  I have a textbox, and whenever the value of the box changes, I want to check and see if 20 digits have been entered. I thought that I would use the onChange event, but this seems to be interpreted as the onBlur event on IE. So then I thought I would use onKeyDown, but the problem comes in if the user wants to paste a value into the field, then the function never gets called. There are no other form boxes so I can't rely on onBlur or expect that they will change focus ever. How do I do this? I just want to evaluate the value of the textbox everytime the value of the textbox changes. <input type="text" onKeyDown="myfunction()">

• Mathematica - Import CSV and process columns?

  I have a CSV file that is formatted like: 0.0023709,8.5752e-007,4.847e-008 and I would like to import it into Mathematica and then have each column separated into a list so I can do some math on the selected column. I know I can import the data with: Import["data.csv"] then I can separate the columns with this: StringSplit[data[[1, 1]], ","] which gives: {"0.0023709", "8.5752e-007", "4.847e-008"} The problem now is that I don't know how to get the data into individual lists and also Mathematica does not accept scientific notation in the form 8.5e-007. Any help in how to break the data into columns and format the scientific notation would be great. Thanks in advance.

• Dock Panel component for .NET that allows docking inside tab-pages?

  I want to build a user-interface that, for historical reasons, has a lot of "columns" of information. Many of these aren't relevant for all users in all cases, so I thought I'd look at dock panels to allow the users to hide or rearrange the columns according to their job scenario. This is Winforms in .NET 3.5. As such, I'd like the following: Have tab-pages in the main form Each tab-page can have dock-panels docked into them Dock-panels should be movable from one tab-page to another I've tried the following component packages so far without luck: Telerik Allows me to dock inside a tab-page, but dock-panels can't move from one tab-page to another. When attempting to drop a floating panel onto a different tab-page than the one it came from, it appears the dock will succeed, but when dropped it is docked on its owner container. Divelements SandDoc Same problems as with Telerik. DevExpress XtraBars Same problems as with Telerik. Basically, does anyone know of any such component (package) that would allow me to do what I want?

• Looking for a component (.NET or COM/ActiveX) that can play AVI files in a WinForms app

  I'm looking for something like the Windows Media Player control that can be hosted on a form. The WMP doesn't work for me because I need a control that can play a continuously-appended playlist of AVI files in sequence, so that the transition from one file to the next happens seamlessly (i.e. without any glitches or pauses in the video and audio). With WMP, there's always a delay between files of half a second or so. Does anyone know of a control (it can be either commercial or open-source) that can do this? I assume anything like this wraps DirectX, and that's OK too.

• How to parse strings representing xml.dom.minidom nodes in python?

  I have a collection of nodes xml.dom.Node objects created using xml.dom.minidom. I store them (individually) in a database by converting them to a string using the toxml() method of a the Node object. The problem is that I'd sometimes like to be able to convert them back to the appropriate Node object using a parser of some kind. As far as I can see the various libraries shipped with python use Expat which won't parse a string like '' or indeed anything which is not a correct xml string. So, does anyone have any ideas? I realise I could pickle the nodes in some way and then unpickle them, but that feels unpleasant and I'd much rather be storing in a form I can read for maintenance purposes. Surely there is something that will do this?

• JComponent undock effect

  I'm trying to accomplish an undock effect for a custom Swing JComponent. By default the component is used inside a form along with other components. I want to be able to maximize this component to use the whole screen and then be able to dock it again. So far I've tested public void showDialog() { JFrame mainFrame = App.getApplication().getMainFrame(); JDialog dialog = new JDialog(mainFrame); dialog.setModal(true); dialog.setSize(800, 600); //Set to 80x660 for now dialog.add(this); //This is my JComponent dialog.setDefaultCloseOperation(JDialog.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE); dialog.setVisible(true); } This gives me desired effect but when closing the dialog my component doesn't receive events no more. How can I prevent this? Or is there perhaps a better way to accomplish this?

  I want to sort objects using by one of their attributes. As of now, I am doing it in the following way USpeople.sort(key=lambda person: person.utility[chosenCar],reverse=True) This works fine, but I have read that using operator.attrgetter() might be a faster way to achieve this sort. First, is this correct? Assuming that it is correct, how do I use operator.attrgetter() to achieve this sort? I tried, keyFunc=operator.attrgetter('utility[chosenCar]') USpeople.sort(key=keyFunc,reverse=True) However, I get an error saying that there is no attribute 'utility[chosenCar]'. The problem is that the attribute by which I want to sort is in a dictionary. For example, the utility attribute is in the following form: utility={chosenCar:25000,anotherCar:24000,yetAnotherCar:24500} I want to sort by the utility of the chosenCar using operator.attrgetter(). On the other side there are a whole bunch of "best practices" that are now embedded into Solaris 11 by default, so out of the box Solaris 11 should already address part of what SST/JASS gave you. (For example we did a lot of work on improving the auditing performance so that we can now have it turned on by default). On x86 can install VirtualBox in a Zone and use that to host other OSes.Yes, this was one of the first things we made sure would work when we acquired VirtualBox when we were still Sun Microsystems. If I have a Solaris 11 Control Domain on a T-series, can I run a Solaris 10 Ldom with Solaris 8 branded containers?Yes, you can.Is Oracle Solaris free or do we need to purchase?Solaris is free, the entitlement to run it comes either with a Sun system (new or historical) or for 3rd party systems the entitlement comes with a support contract. Note that for production use you will be expected to get a support contract. If you don't want to use the Solaris system (Sun or 3rd party) for production use (i.e. development) you can get an OTN license on the Oracle Technical Network website. Will encryption and deduplication both work on a share?This should work at the same time. What approaches does Solaris use to monitor usage?There are many different tools in Solaris to monitor usage. The main ones are the "stats" (vmstat, mpstat, prstat, ...), the kstat interface, and DTrace (to get details you couldn't see before). And then there are layered tools that can interface with these tools (Ops Center, BMC, CA, Tivoli, ...) Apart little-endian, big-endian how is it easy to port Solaris applications on Sparc to x86 and vice-versa ?Very easy. Except for certain hardware specific applications (those that utilize hardware specific drivers), all of the same Oracle Solaris APIs exist for all architectures. Is IPS based patching aware of the fact that zones can reside on ZFS and move from one physical server to another ?IPS is definitely aware of zones and uses ZFS to support boot environments for non-global zones in the same way that's used for the global zone. With respect to moving a zone from one physical server to another, Solaris 11 supports to the same zone attach/deattach method that was introduced in Solaris 10. Is vnic support in Ldoms planned?This is currently being investigated for a future LDOM release. Is it possible with the new patching system to build a system later with the same patch level as a system built a few months earlier?Yes, you can choose/define exactly which version should go to the system and it will always put the same bits in place. The technical answer is that you choose the version of the "entire" package you want on the system and the rest flows from there. Is it in the plans to allow zones to add/remove zpools to running zones dynamically in future updates?Work in this area is currently under investigation. Any plans to realese Solaris 11 source code? i.e. opensolaris?We currently can't comment on publicly releasing the source code. If you need/want this access please let your Oracle account team know. What about VirtualBox and Solaris11 for virtualization?Solaris 11 works great with VirtualBox, as both a client and a host system. Will Oracle DB software eventually be supplied as IPS packages? When?We don't have a date yet but this is actively being worked on. What are the new artifacts in Oracle Solaris 11 than the previous versions?There are quite a few actually. For example, IPS works with ZFS and Solaris Boot Environments to provide a safe environment for software lifecycle management so that changes can be reverted by switching to an older boot environment. With Zones on solaris 11, can I do paravirtualitation?The great thing about zones is you don't *need* paravirtualization. You're making the same direct kernel calls that you would outside of a zone.  It's an incredibly significant performance win over hypervisor-based virtualization. When running Solaris 10/11 on an enterprise server with a lot of zones, what are best practises commands to show the system is running fine? (has enough hardware resources). For example CPU / Memory / I/O / system load. What are the recommended values?For Solaris 11, look into the new zonestat(1M) command that provides a great deal of information about zone utilization.   Hi, I've been trying to make this code work for the last 3 hours. I've tried about everytinh, but I'm still unable to get it to work. I only managed to send 1 data. When I use this code, I only manage to retrieve recaptcha_challenge_field. If I remove recaptcha_challenge_field, I retrieve recaptcha_response_field. • Using Yii framework, what would be a right way to process an attribute before displaying it using CH

  Say I have this line of code in the view. <?php echo CHtml::activeTextField($model,'start_time'); ?> start_time is a UNIX timestamp. When just displaying it in a view I can apply functions like date() on it. Where should I apply the formatting when I'm displaying it in a form, by using the above line of code? (This case of timestamps/dates might be special, but I'm also interested in how would one go about if it wasn't a date and I just want to work with "value in database" < "different representations of the value in different views. Thanks =)

Should turn URL-s automatically into links Should support some form of basic markups (bold, image, url, pre, list) Should have a simple parser, that turns user input text into HTML Content on the site is public to everyone, XSS must not allowed to happen. What do you suggest? What markup language in the first place? BBCode? Wiki? Markdown? Are there any complete API-s with good examples? PHP is available on the server side. If there is a WYSIWYG-like texarea in addition (like here on SO) that would be a fantastic bonus!

The problem is that When I go to lower half of the datagrid which is not visible until I scroll down, as I click any cell, the table adapter is filled and updated and the pointerpoints to the very first row. Any suggestion on how to fix it. I have a ideas to record the top row of the datagridview that is visible and set the pointer to that row. But how to do it?

So far I already have a form for retrieving and saving data to a SQLite database and now I need some information on how I can upload the SQLite data to a server.   Hi, Could someone please help me with this- I've 2 applications AAA and BBB. The homepage of AAA contains an iFrame which displays the application BBB. When I login to AAA, the same login details should be used to login to BBB(single signon) and on pageload of the homepage of AAA, homepage of BBB should also be loaded in the iFrame. I tried to use javascript to access the form elements of login page of BBB to enter the login data and submit. But the browser gives me a 'Access is denied' error. I did a little reading and came to know that cross- domain communication is not allowed by the browser. Could someone tell me how i can go about achieving this?

I realize that this is similar to what a rootkit would do, and I am completely happy to use some hacker software if it provides the necessary functionality (and if I can get it in source-code form). If I can't find something, I'll have to write it using C. Probably an embedded HTTP server running on an odd port and doing some kind of XMLRPC thing. Here is the basic functionality I need: Get list of running processes Kill a process.   The method DotNetOpenAuth.OpenId.RelyingParty.IAuthenticationRequest.RedirectToProvider() is documented never to return: Redirects the user agent to the provider for authentication. Execution of the current page terminates after this call. However, it does return under the latest implementation (3.4.3). I'm using the following code: using (var relayingParty = new OpenIdRelyingParty()) { var response = relayingParty.GetResponse(); if (response == null) { // Stage 2: user submitting Identifier var openId = Request.Form["openId"]; relayingParty.CreateRequest(openId).RedirectToProvider(); throw new Exception("Never gets here"); } ... } (The line with "Never gets here" is reached). I need to return an ActionResult from this method ... Is this a known bug? Is there a aorkaround? Should I return EmptyResult? Now I'm trying to create a form that has the following fields: First name (from User) Last name (from User) Location (from UserProfile, which extends User via a foreign key) Employer (also from UserProfile) I have created a modelform: from django.forms import ModelForm from django.contrib import auth from alert.userHandling.models import UserProfile class ProfileForm(ModelForm): class Meta: # model = auth.models.User # this gives me the User fields model = UserProfile # this gives me the UserProfile fields So, my question is, how can I create a ModelForm that has access to all of the fields, whether they are from the User model or the UserProfile model?   After a bit of searching, I've found that it's possible to instantiate a WTForms object in web.py using the following code: form = my_form(**web.input()) web.input() returns a "dictionary-like" web.storage object, but without the double asterisks WTForms will raise an exception: TypeError: formdata should be a multidict-type wrapper that supports the 'getlist' method From the Python documentation I understand that the two asterisks are used to unpack a dictionary of named arguments. That said, I'm still a bit confused about exactly what is going on. What makes the web.storage object returned by web.input() "dictionary-like" enough that it can be unpacked by ** but not "dictionary-like" enough that it can be passed as-is to the WTForms constructor? I know that this is an extremely basic question, but any advice to help a novice programmer would be greatly appreciated!
