  • Tigther code - javascript object array

    - by Scott Silvi
    Inside the callback of a $.getJSON call, I have the code outlined below. The first for block aggregates 'total' & assigns values to sov[i]. The map function calculates the percentage of total. I then instantiate a variable called sovData. With the jQuery Flot graph, any objects that are empty aren't added to the pie chart, so this works for up to 7 different slices/datasets. What I'd like to do is only initialize the ones I need (e.g. sovData would have up to 'howMany - 1' (kws.length -1 ) objects inside of it, likely via something similar to dashboards[i] & sov[i]. How would I do this? Code: var sov = [], howMany = kws.length, total = 0, i = 0; for ( i; i < howMany; i++) { total += sov[ i ] = +parseInt(data.sov['sov' + ( i+1 ) ],10) || 0; } var dashboards = data.dashboards; sov = $.map( sov, function(v) { var s = Math.round( ( (v / total) * 10e3 ) / 100); return s < 1 ? 1 : s; }); var sovData = [{ label : dashboards[0], data : sov[0] }, { label : dashboards[1], data : sov[1] }, { label : dashboards[2], data : sov[2] }, { label : dashboards[3], data : sov[3] }, { label : dashboards[4], data : sov[4] }, { label : dashboards[5], data : sov[5] }, { label : dashboards[6], data : sov[6] } ]

  • fadeToggle() fails on chrome/safari due to display block on <a> tag

    - by kylex
    http://jsfiddle.net/GGsEt/3/ Works on firefox HTML <ul> <li class="lib_undefined"> <span class="hidden_toggle"> <a href="/">Test</a> </span> </li> </ul> ? CSS .hidden_toggle{ text-align: center; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 600; color: #999; line-height: 80px; display: none; } .hidden_toggle a{ color: #999; border: none; display: block; width: 100%; height: 90px; } .lib_undefined{ min-height: 90px; border: 1px solid #000; } jQuery $('.lib_undefined').hover(function(){ $(this).children('.hidden_toggle').fadeToggle(); });? Any known fixes? The a tag needs to fill the entire li, which is why display is set to block.

  • Adding image to html markup

    - by user1491991
    Hello guys i'm having a problem appending a image to my html markup which is generated when a button is clicked... wondering if i could some dirction __--------------------------SCRIPT----------------------------------------------------------- (function($){ $.confirm = function(params){ if($('#confirmOverlay').length){ // A confirm is already shown on the page: return false; } var buttonHTML = ''; $.each(params.buttons,function(name,obj){ // Generating the markup for the buttons: buttonHTML += '<a href="#" class="button '+obj['class']+'">'+name+'<span></span></a>'; if(!obj.action){ obj.action = function(){}; } }); var closetext= 'close'; var markup = [ '<div id="confirmOverlay">', '<div id ="model">','<div id="confirmBox">', '<div id="header">','<div id ="title">',params.title,'</div>', '<div id="close">','<ol id = "olclose">','<li id = "liclose">','<a id="close" href = "#">',closetext,'</a></li>', '<li id = "liclose">','<a id="close" href = "#">','<img src="../modal-close.gif"/>','</a></li>','</ol></div></div>', '<div id ="textbox">','<p>',params.message,'<br>','<br>' ,buttonHTML,'</p>', '</div>', '</div></div></div></div>' ].join(''); $(markup).hide().appendTo('body').fadeIn(); var buttons = $('#confirmBox .button'), i = 0; $.each(params.buttons,function(name,obj){ buttons.eq(i++).click(function(){ // Calling the action attribute when a // click occurs, and hiding the confirm. obj.action(); $.confirm.hide(); return false; }); }); } $.confirm.hide = function(){ $('#confirmOverlay').fadeOut(function(){ $(this).remove(); }); } })(jQuery); i've used firebug to check and its unable to fetch the image here

  • Align a set of elements that are not next to each other in the HTML

    - by user1917727
    I am creating a comparison table where the columns are built as below: <div id = "wrapper"> <div id = "col1"> <div class = "row1"> text lots more text and more text </div> <div class = "row2"> text </div> <div class = "row3"> text </div> </div> <div id = "col2"> <div class = "row1"> text </div> <div class = "row2"> a lot of text </div> <div class = "row3"> text </div> </div> </div> Col1 and col2 are then displayed as an inline-block so they visually sit next to each other on the page. The problem is that the contents of each row may vary. Without setting a min-height of each row, how could i make sure that each row visually lines up with its corresponding row from the other column? I can't think of any way to achieve this in CSS alone. I'm wondering if there's some sneaky jQuery way of achieving this? EDIT: I Can't change the HTML structure. Cheers

  • Asset Pipeline acting up

    - by Abram
    Ok, so my asset pipeline has suddenly started acting up on my development machine. JS functions that previously worked are now throwing "not a function" errors.. I know I must be doing something wrong. A minute ago the datatables jquery function was working, then it was throwing an error, then it was working, and now it's not working or throwing an error. Here is my application.js //= require jquery //= require jquery-ui //= require jquery_ujs //= require_self //= require_tree . //= require dataTables/jquery.dataTables //= require dataTables/jquery.dataTables.bootstrap //= require bootstrap //= require bootstrap-tooltip //= require bootstrap-popover //= require bootstrap-tab //= require bootstrap-modal //= require bootstrap-alert //= require bootstrap-dropdown //= require jquery.ui.addresspicker //= require raty //= require jquery.alphanumeric //= require jquery.formrestrict //= require select2 //= require chosen/chosen.jquery //= require highcharts //= require jquery.lazyload Here is some of my layout header: <%= stylesheet_link_tag "application", media: "all" %> <%= yield(:scripthead) %> <%= javascript_include_tag "application" %> <%= csrf_meta_tags %> <%= yield(:head) %> Above I am using the yield to load up online scripts from google as they're only needed on some pages, and generally slow down the site if included in the application layout. I tried removing the yield but things were still broken, even after clearing the browser cache and running rake assets:clean (just to be on the safe side). Here's what shows up between CSS and metatags (for a page with nothin in the yield scripthead): <script src="/assets/jquery.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery-ui.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery_ujs.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/application.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/aidmodels.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/audio.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-alert.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-dropdown.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-modal.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-popover.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-tab.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-tooltip.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/branches.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/charts.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/chosen/backup_chosen.jquery.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/chosen/chosen.jquery.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/consumers.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/dispensers.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/favorites.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/features.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/generic_styles.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.base.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.bing.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.googlemaps.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.mapquest.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.openlayers.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/highcharts.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery-ui-1.8.18.custom.min.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery.alphanumeric.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery.formrestrict.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery.lazyload.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/jquery.ui.addresspicker.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/likes.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/messages.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/overalls.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/pages.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/questions.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/raty.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/reviews.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/sessions.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/styles.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/tickets.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/universities.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/users.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/dataTables/jquery.dataTables.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/dataTables/jquery.dataTables.bootstrap.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-transition.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-affix.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-button.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-carousel.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-collapse.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-scrollspy.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap-typeahead.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/bootstrap.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/assets/select2.js?body=1" type="text/javascript"></script> From application.rb: config.assets.initialize_on_precompile = false # Enable the asset pipeline config.assets.enabled = true config.action_controller.assets_dir = "#{File.dirname(File.dirname(__FILE__))}/public" # Version of your assets, change this if you want to expire all your assets config.assets.version = '1.0' I'm sorry, I'm not sure what else to include to help with this puzzle, but any advise would be appreciated.   • OAuth Consumer request for token from ServiceProvider returns InternalServerError

    - by chridam
    I'm playing around with DevDefined.OAuth - an OAuth consumer and provider implementation for .Net http://code.google.com/p/devdefined-tools/wiki/OAuth and on launching the ExampleConsumerSite project after configuring the service endpoints on my IIS 7 web server, I'm receiving the following error: Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Exception: Request for uri: http://localhost%3A8080/RequestToken.aspx?oauth%5Fcallback=oob&oauth%5Fnonce=94efde0b-dd45-4cee-8253-7496cef0b877&oauth%5Fconsumer%5Fkey=key&oauth%5Fsignature%5Fmethod=PLAINTEXT&oauth%5Ftimestamp=1252512419&oauth%5Fversion=1.0&oauth%5Ftoken=&oauth%5Fsignature=secret%2526 failed. status code: InternalServerError An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. On tracing this, the error source is from the line 12 of Default.aspx.cs page: IToken requestToken = session.GetRequestToken(); protected void oauthRequest_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { OAuthSession session = CreateSession(); IToken requestToken = session.GetRequestToken(); if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(requestToken.Token)) { throw new Exception("The request token was null or empty"); } Session[requestToken.Token] = requestToken; string callBackUrl = "http://localhost:" + HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.Port + "/Callback.aspx"; string authorizationUrl = session.GetUserAuthorizationUrlForToken(requestToken, callBackUrl); Response.Redirect(authorizationUrl, true); } While I'm not sure if this has to do with configuring the service endpoints but I'm running the consumer project from VS2008 and hosting the service on IIS. Please advice.

  • How much detail is in a good UI regression test?

    - by GlenPeterson
    We use a detailed step-by-step user-interface regression test for our commercial web application. It has a "backbone" test for the most used / most important parts of the system, with optional tests for specific areas of functionality. Using this plan has definitely helped us ensure high quality software. But, having very specific tests can be counter-productive. The tester concentrates on following the test and will completely miss usability issues, or not notice fairly obvious problems such as the bottom part of a page that is missing. By contrast, some of the best UI testing happens when building a demo of a new feature. I often do my own best testing by pretending to demonstrate the system to an imaginary prospect. Yet when I tell the testers, "Just demonstrate the system to yourself" they don't cover nearly as much functionality as they do with a detailed point-by-point test. I'm repeatedly asked to provide more and more detail in the test plan so that a new untrained tester can test with it without asking any questions. Yet details seem to be counter-productive. How much detail do you put in a regression test to make it effective? What techniques make the tester to focus more on the system than on checking off items on the test?

  • What is the correct UI interface to learn for creating Windows phone 8 apps? [closed]

    - by Robert Oschler
    I am a veteran Delphi 6 programmer transitioning to C# development. My first project is a open source library that will have a minimal user interface since it is meant to be used as a Component primarily on desktop PCs running Visual Studio. My next project is going to be a Windows 8 phone app and I intend for that platform to be my primary focus for future C# development, not the desktop. My concern is that I waste as little time as possible learning a presentation framework that will benefit or distract me from writing Windows 8 phone apps. The plethora of framework names I have already encountered include, WinForms, WPF (Windows Presentation Framework), Silverlight, Silverlight Mobile, Metro and there may be others. Given my goal outlined in the first paragraph above, I have a few questions: 1) Which of the frameworks should I use for the small amount of UI work I will do with the desktop Component project that will help me the most, or hurt me the least, when I move to Windows 8 phone app development? 2) Which is the correct framework to study for developing Windows 8 phone apps? 3) Any awesome tutorials, resources or books you have run into targeted towards veteran programmers from other platforms? I read about the Portable Library Tools on this Stack Overflow thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5522355/windows-phone-7-wpf-sharing-a-codebase But the reply by Simon Guindon seemed to indicate to me that it's not the best solution for writing a competitive Windows 8 phone app.

  • How can I choose a Webapp UI Design/dev collaborative tool?

    - by Cheeso
    I am working with a team that's building a webapp for internal use in an enterprise. It's basically a workflow app at heart, where there's a single "request". Each request flows through various stages, and at each stage, there's a person or role that is responsible for moving the request to the next stage. "Moving" the request to the next stage might involve adding more data, validating things, gathering input from some external source and correlating it to the data in the request, and so on. The workflow engine has been selected. The UI for the various roles and stakeholders is being designed. We have a distributed group of stakeholders. I'd like to employ a collaborative design/dev effort, where devs can produce and stand-up mockups or even working prototypes, then solicit feedback on those things. In a centralized team this could be done via design review meetings, with everyone gathered round a screen projector. That just is not going to work for us. So what I'd like is an app that can help with this. Any recommendations on apps or how to choose?

    I have a tumblr theme seen on http://www.kodilane.com and i am trying to make my Video Posts full screen. I have tried editing the code but i can only get the pictures to stretch. I have attached the template i have so far, if you can spot the changes that need to be done to make the video posts stretch full screen like the pictures do i would really appreciate it. Thank You - Kodi <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>{Title} {block:PostSummary}- {PostSummary}{/block:PostSummary}</title> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="{Favicon}"> <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="{RSS}"> {block:Description} <meta name="description" content="{MetaDescription}" /> {/block:Description} <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; • Javascript Noob: How to emulate slideshow on front page by automatically cycling through existing ho

    - by Zildjoms
    hey everyone. hope you could help me out am working on this website and i've finished all the hover effects i like - they're exactly how i want them to be: http://s5ent.brinkster.net/beta3.asp - try hovering over the four links and you'll see a very simple fade effect at work, which degrades into a regular css hover without javascript. what i plan to do is to make the page look like it had a fancy slideshow going on upon loading and while idle, and i wanted to achieve that by capitalizing on the existing hover styling/behavior of the main page links instead of using another script to create the effect from scratch. to do this i imagined i'll need a script that emulates a hover action on each link at regular time intervals once the page has loaded, starting from left to right (footcare, lawn & equipment, about us, contact us), looping through all 4 links indefinitely (footcare, lawn & equipment, about us, contact us, footcare, lawn& equipment, etc.) but pauses when any of them have been actually hovered over by a viewer and resumes from wherever the user left off upon mouseout. hope you get my drift... i also want to achieve this without unnecessarily disrupting the current html. so i guess everything will have to be done by scripting as much as possible.. i'm very new to javascript and jquery. as you can see at s5ent.brinkster.net/beta3.1-autohover.asp, the following script i made works wrong: it hovers-on all of them at the same time and doesn't hover-out anymore. when you try to actually hover into and out of each link the link just comes back on: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { var speed = 5000; var run = setInterval('rotate()', speed); }); function rotate() { $('.lilevel1 a').each(function(i) { $(this).mouseover(); }); } </script> it's just gross. aside from the fact that this last bit of script isn't even working in ie. could you please help me make this thing happen? that'd be really sweet, guys. i know there are tonsa geniuses out there who could whip this up in no time. or if you have a better way to go about it by all means kindly lemme know. thanks guys, hope you're all havin a blast.

  • Form submit to target iframe only works once

    - by Pointy
    I'm having a really irritating problem doing something that I'm sure I've done before. The setup is this: There's a form which is submitted via a "click" handler on a button, though the submit is ultimately a simple call to the form's native submit() function. The form's target is an iframe, which is initially filled with an empty page (that is, its source object is an URL for an empty page). That is, the "target" attribute of the form is the same identifier (and yes, it's a valid identifier) as the "name" and "id" attributes of the iframe (and yes, it's unique) Now the goal of this setup is as follows: the form contains file upload fields. Should something be wrong with one of the files uploaded, the server will report back an error. If the error response (that is, the html page with a new copy of the form, along with appropriate error messages) were to be allowed to reload the original window, then the file input fields would be cleared. That's not good. Thus the form submits to the iframe, so that the response from the server can be a small page that knows it's in that hidden iframe, and knows to move the error messages up to the form. One more thing: the form itself is also in an iframe, as part of a popup modal dialog (like a jQuery UI dialog, only slightly different; same idea though). The setup works fine - on the first submit. In other words, if I supply nice happy files to upload, the server ships back the successful response, and the dialog is closed correctly. If I send a bogus file, the server responds with an error page that correctly copies its stuff up to the form page. On the second submit, however (like, if I fix the bogus file input field), the browser insists on sending the server response to a new browser tab. As far as I can tell, the form's "target" remains correct, the iframe "name" and "id" attributes aren't changed, and I even make sure to update the hidden iframe "window.name" and "window.id" values. None of that is helping; I always get a new browser tab. I'm trying to set up a slightly simpler test case to see if I can rule out some of my framework code (the stuff that does the submit), though via a few console.log() calls I think that stuff is OK; it's certainly OK on all the other dialogs etc. in the site. When/if I create a simpler version I'll post it. In the meantime, if any of you insanely smart people recognize this situation and know of a trick to make it work, I'd be really thankful. I see the same behavior in both Firefox (3.6) and Chrome, so it's got to be my problem and not a browser quirk (well, at least that's what I think to be true).

  • add a div.class in a child, only when the parent does not have other div.class

    i have a html code like this: <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="checkclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="checkclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="checkclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> </div> and i need to add a div only on those divs that dont have that "checkclass", so it will like this: <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="checkclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="newclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="checkclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="checkclass"></div> </div> <div class="someclass"> <div class="childclass"></div> <div class="newclass"></div> </div> i tried with jquery something like: $('.someclase:not(children(hasClass(checkclass))').append('<div class="newclass"></div>'); $('.someclass:not(:children(.checkclass))').append('<div class="newclass"></div>'); $('.someclass > :not(.checkclass)').append('<div class="newclass"></div>'); but still nothing, any ideas?

  • Reconstructing Position in the Original Array from the Position in a Stripped Down Array

    - by aronchick
    I have a text file that contains a number of the following: <ID> <Time 1> --> <Time 2> <Quote (potentially multiple line> <New Line Separator> <ID> <Time 1> --> <Time 2> <Quote (potentially multiple line> <New Line Separator> <ID> <Time 1> --> <Time 2> <Quote (potentially multiple line> <New Line Separator> I have a very simple regex for stripping these out into a constant block so it's just: <Quote> <Quote> <Quote> What I'd like to do is present the quotes as a block to the user, and have them select it (using jQuery.fieldSelection) and then use the selected content to back out to the original array, so I can get timing and IDs. Because this has to go out to HTML, and the user has to be able to select the text on the screen, I can't do anything like hidden divs or hidden input fields. The only data I will have is the character range selected on screen. To be specific, this is what it looks like: 1 0:00 --> 0:05 He was bored. So bored. His great intellect, seemingly inexhaustible, was hungry for new challenges but he was the last of the great innovators 2 0:05 --> 0:10 - society's problems had all been solved. 3 0:11 --> 0:20 All seemingly unconnected disciplines had long since been found to be related in horrifically elusive and contrived ways and he had mastered them all. And this is what I'd like to present to the user for selection: He was bored. So bored. His great intellect, seemingly inexhaustible, was hungry for new challenges but he was the last of the great innovators - society's problems had all been solved. All seemingly unconnected disciplines had long since been found to be related in horrifically elusive and contrived ways and he had mastered them all. Has anyone com across something like this before? Any ideas how to take the selected text, or selection position, and go backwards to the original meta-data?

  • Spring MVC return ajax response using Jackson

    - by anshumn
    I have a scenario where I am filling a dropdown box in JSP through AJAX response from the server. In the controller, I am retuning a Collection of Product objects and have annotated the return type with @ResponseBody. Controller - @RequestMapping(value="/getServicesForMarket", method = RequestMethod.GET) public @ResponseBody Collection<Product> getServices(@RequestParam(value="marketId", required=true) int marketId) { Collection<Product> products = marketService.getProducts(marketId); return products; } And Product is @Entity @Table(name = "PRODUCT") public class Product implements Serializable { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private int id; private Market market; private Service service; private int price; @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) public int getId() { return id; } public void setId(int id) { this.id = id; } @ManyToOne(fetch=FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name = "MARKET_ID") public Market getMarket() { return market; } public void setMarket(Market market) { this.market = market; } @ManyToOne(fetch=FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name = "SERVICE_ID") public Service getService() { return service; } public void setService(Service service) { this.service = service; } @Column(name = "PRICE") public int getPrice() { return price; } public void setPrice(int price) { this.price = price; } } Service is @Entity @Table(name="SERVICE") public class Service implements Serializable { /** * */ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private int id; private String name; private String description; @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name="ID") public int getId() { return id; } public void setId(int id) { this.id = id; } @Column(name="NAME") public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } @Column(name="DESCRIPTION") public String getDescription() { return description; } public void setDescription(String description) { this.description = description; } } In the JSP, I need to get the data from the service field of Product also. So I in my JQuery callback function, I have written like product.service.description to get the data. It seems that by default Jackson is not mapping the associated service object (or any other custom object). Also I am not getting any exception. In the JSP, I do not get the data. It is working fine when I return Collection of some object which does not contain any other custom objects as its fields. Am I missing any settings for this to work? Thanks!

The CSS: .order-table{ border-collapse:collapse; } .order-table-header{ text-align:center; background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #E5E5E5; border-bottom:1px solid #95bce2; padding:16px; } .order-table-odd-row{ text-align:center; background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFFF; border-top:1px solid #000000; } .order-table-even-row{ text-align:center; background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #ecf6fc; border-top:1px solid #BBBBBB; } table.order-table tr.over { background-color: #bcd4ec; } The table: <h:dataTable id="personsTable" value="#{personController.allPersons}" var="bean" styleClass="order-table" headerClass="order-table-header" rowClasses="order-table-odd-row,order-table-even-row"> <h:column> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText value="First Name" /> </f:facet> <h:outputText value="#{bean.firstName}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText value="Last Name" /> </f:facet> <h:outputText value="#{bean.lastName}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText value="Phone" /> </f:facet> <h:outputText value="#{bean.phone}"/> </h:column> </h:dataTable> and a small JQuery script: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(".order-table tr").mouseover(function(){ $(this).addClass("over"); }); $(".order-table tr").mouseout(function(){ $(this).removeClass("over"); }); }); </script> The result is (notice the white grid that came from i don't know where. And also no underline which should come from the CSS): http://imagebin.org/132574

  • Insert default value if input-text is deleted

    - by Kim Andersen
    Hi all I have the following piece of jQuery code: $(".SearchForm input:text").each(function(){ /* Sets the current value as the defaultvalue attribute */ if(allowedDefaults.indexOf($(this).val()) > 0 || $(this).val() == "") { $(this).attr("defaultvalue", $(this).val()); $(this).css("color","#9d9d9d"); /* Onfocus, if default value clear the field */ $(this).focus(function(){ if($(this).val() == $(this).attr("defaultvalue")) { $(this).val(""); $(this).css("color","#4c4c4c"); } }); /* Onblur, if empty, insert defaultvalue */ $(this).blur(function(){ alert("ud"); if($(this).val() == "") { $(this).val($(this).attr("defaultvalue")); $(this).css("color","#9d9d9d"); }else { $(this).removeClass("ignore"); } }); } }); I use this code to insert some default text into some of my input fields, when nothing else is typed in. This means that when a user sees my search-form, the defaultvalues will be set as an attribute on the input-field, and this will be the value that is shown. When a user clicks inside of the input field, the default value will be removed. When the user sees an input field at first is looks like this: <input type="text" value="" defaultvalue="From" /> This works just fine, but I have a big challenge. If a user have posted the form, and something is entered into one of the fields, then I can't show the default value in the field, if the user deletes the text from the input field. This is happening because the value of the text-field is still containing something, even when the user deletes the content. So my problem is how to show the default value when the form is submitted, and the user then removes the typed in content? When the form is submitted the input looks like this, and keeps looking like this until the form is submitted again: <input type="text" value="someValue" defaultvalue="From" /> So I need to show the default value in the input-field right after the user have deleted the content in the field, and removed the focus from the field. Does everyone understand what my problem is? Otherwise just ask, I have struggled with this one for quite some times now, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kim Andersen

  • Problem with JSON, Struts 2 and Ajax.

    - by Javi
    Hello, I have an apllication with Struts 2, Spring and I want to send JSON as a response to an Ajax request, but my server in not sending the JSON in the response. I have this base package: <package name="myApp-default" extends="struts-default"> <result-types> <result-type name="tiles" class="org.apache.struts2.views.tiles.TilesResult" /> <result-type name="json" class="com.googlecode.jsonplugin.JSONResult"> <param name="enableGZIP">true</param> <param name="noCache">true</param> <param name="defaultEncoding">ISO-8859-1</param> </result-type> </result-types> </package> And another package which extends the previous one. <package namespace="/rest" name="rest" extends="myApp-default"> <action name="login" class="restAction" method="login"> <result type="json"/> </action> So I call with jQuery Ajax and debugging it I see it enters in the Action restAction in the method login and it also enters in the method getJsonData() because I have set two breakpoints and the program is stopped first in login and then in getJsonData. public class RestAction extends BaseAction { private String login; private String password; private String jsonData; public String login() { jsonData = "changed"; return Action.SUCCESS; } //I ommit getter/setters for login and password @JSON(name="jsonData") public String getJsonData() { return jsonData; } public void setJsonData(String jsonData) { this.jsonData = jsonData; } } My ajax looks like this: $.ajax({type: 'GET', url: this_url, data: pars, cache:false, success: handleResponse, error: handleError}); With firebug I see that the response to my request is completely void (though I have seen that the data saved in pars variable has been populated to the action and the methods have been executed correctly). And maybe for that reason my ajax enters in my handleError function where xmlHttpRequest.readyState is 4 and xmlHttpRequest.status is 0. Can anyone tell me what may the problem be? Thanks.

  • performance problem looping through table rows

    - by Sridhar
    Hi, I am using jquery to loop through table rows and save the data. If the table has 200 rows it is performing slow. I am getting the javascript message "Stop Running this script" in IE when I call this method. Following is the code I am using to loop through table rows. Can you please let me know if there is a better way to do this. function SaveData() { var $table = $('#' + gridid); var rows = $table.find('tbody > tr').get(); var transactions = []; var $row, empno, newTransaction, $rowChildren; $.each(rows, function(index, row) { $row = $(row); $rowChildren = $row.children("td"); if ($rowChildren.find("input[id*=hRV]").val() === '1') { empno = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tEmpno]").val(); newTransaction = new Array(); newTransaction[0] = company; newTransaction[1] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tEmpno]").val(); newTransaction[2] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tPC]").val(); newTransaction[3] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=hQty]").val(); newTransaction[4] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=hPR]").val(); newTransaction[5] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tJC]").val(); newTransaction[6] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL1]").val(); newTransaction[7] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL2]").val(); newTransaction[8] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL3]").val(); newTransaction[9] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL4]").val(); newTransaction[10] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL5]").val(); newTransaction[11] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL6]").val(); newTransaction[12] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL7]").val(); newTransaction[13] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL8]").val(); newTransaction[14] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL9]").val(); newTransaction[15] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tL10]").val(); newTransaction[16] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tSF]").val(); newTransaction[17] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tCG]").val(); newTransaction[18] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tTF]").val(); newTransaction[19] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tWK]").val(); newTransaction[20] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tAI]").val(); newTransaction[21] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tWC]").val(); newTransaction[22] = $rowChildren.find("input[id*=tPI]").val(); newTransaction[23] = "E"; var record = newTransaction.join(';'); transactions.push(record); } }); if (transactions.length > 0) { var strTransactions = transactions.join('|'); //send data to server //here ajax function is called to save data. } }

  • markitup wysiwyg with a standard HTML form

    - by Chris
    Hi, I'm trying to use the markitup editor on my site and I'm having a problem trying to figure out what I need to do to submit the text area to my server side script. I'm guessing there is something simple that needs to be done but my lack of JS/JQuery knowledge is making it really hard to find a answer The editor works fine, I just want to use my own form and submit button with it, however when I try to submit the form I don't get any of the textarea data in my script. Any idea what I need to do? This is the min that works (before submit) In the Head of my HTML <script type="text/javascript" > <!-- $(document).ready(function() { $("#markItUp").markItUp(mySettings); }); --> </script> And the body: <form id="postpreview" name="newpost" action="/someurl" method="POST" /> <input type="hidden" name="key1" value="val1" /> <input type="hidden" name="key2" value="val2" /> <textarea name="text" id="markItUp"></textarea> <input id="SubmitPost" type="image" value="Continue" name="Doit" class="preview" src="/img/somimage" /> </form> As I said, everything prior to the submit works but once I submit I don't get anything for the form data element "text". I tried doing this in the head: <script type="text/javascript" > <!-- $(document).ready(function() { $("#markItUp").markItUp(mySettings); $("#SubmitPost").click(function(){ data = markItUp.textarea.value; $.post("scripturl",{ key1: "value1", key2: "value2", text: data }); }); }); --> </script> I've also tried: <script type="text/javascript" > <!-- $(document).ready(function() { $("#markItUp").markItUp(mySettings); $("#postpreview").submit(function(){ var data = $("#markItUp").html(); $.post("live",{ func: "posting", text: data }); return false; }); }); --> </script> And I have no luck - the last attempt above just disabled the form (so clicking on the submit or preview buttons did nothing). Any ideas? I guessing its really simple to use my own form but I have no clue how to do it. TIA!

  • drag and drop working funny when using variable draggables and droppables

    - by Lina
    Hi, i have some containers that contain some divs like: <div id="container1"> <div id="task1" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+1+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task2" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+2+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task3" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+3+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task4" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+4+");">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="container2"> <div id="task5" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+5+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task6" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+6+");">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="container3"> <div id="task7" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+7+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task8" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+8+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task9" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+9+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task10" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+10+");">&nbsp;</div> </div> i'm trying to drag tasks and drop them in one of the container divs, then reposition the dropped task so that it doesn't affect the other divs nor fall outside one of them and to do that i'm using the event onMouseOver to call the following function: function DragDrop(id) { $("#task" + id).draggable({ revert: 'invalid' }); for (var i = 0; i < nameList.length; i++) { $("#" + nameList[i]).droppable({ drop: function (ev, ui) { var pos = $("#task" + id).position(); if (pos.left <= 0) { $("#task" + id).css("left", "5px"); } else { var day = parseInt(parseInt(pos.left) / 42); var leftPos = (day * 42) + 5; $("#task" + id).css("left", "" + leftPos + "px"); } } }); } } where: nameList = [container1, container2, container3]; the drag is working fine, but the drop is not really, it's just a mess! any help please?? when i hardcode the id and the container, then it works beautifully, but as soon as i use id in drop then it begins to work funny! any suggestions??? thanks a million in advance Lina
