  • autocomplete: how do I avoid a duplicate search?

    - by dnagirl
    I use JQuery plugin autocomplete as a kind of dataset chooser. If the user chooses a value from the autocomplete lookup, the database is queried for the matching dataset. If the user types in a new value, the user can enter a new dataset. An issue arises when the user types in an existing value rather than choosing it from the autocomplete lookup. When this is done, the autocomplete .result() method is not called and no dataset is retrieved. To fix this I added a .blur(function(){$(this).search();}); to the input element. This fixed the original problem. Now I have the problem that .result() fires on selection from lookup AND on blur. I would like .result() to fire on selection from lookup OR on blur. How do I make that happen? Here is my code: $('#groupset').autocomplete('ajax/php/leeruns.php'); $('#groupset').result( function(event, data, formatted) { if(data){ $('#groupsetdesc').val(formatted); groups.load(data[1]); //retrieve matching dataset } else { $('#groupsetdesc').val(''); } } ).blur(function(){$(this).search();});

  • Crystal Reports Cross Tab Conditional Formatting

    - by ltran
    I would like to achieve a simplified result similar to the "Color Scale" function in Excel i.e. gradient colouring based on the lowest value (red) to highest value (green), except in my cross tab using Crystal Reports 2008. My cross tab looks a little like this: HOURS L1 L2 L3 L4 Total 1 hours | 5 | 0 | 1 | 16 | 22 | 2 hours | 0 | 1 | 0 | 10 | 11 | 3 hours | 8 | 2 | 6 | 12 | 28 | TOTAL |13 | 3 | 7 | 38 | 61 | The principle of my function is find the maximum value in the cross table then use 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% values to colour the background. Function is as follows (in the format background section): if currentfieldvalue < ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.2) then color(255,0,0) else if (currentfieldvalue >= ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.2) and currentfieldvalue < ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.4)) then color(255,192,0) else if (currentfieldvalue >= ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.4) and currentfieldvalue < ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.6)) then color(255,255,0) else if (currentfieldvalue >= ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.6) and currentfieldvalue < ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.8)) then color(146,208,80) else if (currentfieldvalue >= ((Maximum (MakeArray (CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentRowIndex, 1)))*0.8)) then color(0,176,80) It's not elegant, nor does it work properly, any assistance/suggestions would be much appreciated. I wasn't expecting it to be so complicated as originally I was working with the below assuming it would work, except it tells me that "CurrentFieldValue" is not a field. if CurrentFieldValue < ((Maximum (CurrentFieldValue))*0.2) then color(255,0,0) else if ... etc.

  • YouTube API, jQuery attr won't swap element attributes (I think) in IE, but works in FF

    - by Anthony
    JavaScript (jQuery) function display_youtube(new_url) { $('#movie_url').removeAttr('value'); $('#embed_url').removeAttr('src'); $(document).ready(function() { $('#movie_url').attr('value', new_url); $('#embed_url').attr('src', new_url); $('#shade').css('display', 'block'); $('#youtube_player').css('display', 'block'); $('#exit_youtube').css('display', 'block'); }); } HTML <object width="720" height="480"> <param id="movie_url" name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_eaToCSn7yU?f=user_uploads&app=youtube_gdata&autoplay=0" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> <embed id="embed_url" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_eaToCSn7yU?f=user_uploads&app=youtube_gdata&autoplay=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="720" height="480" /> </object> Hyperlink <a href="javascript:display_youtube('http://www.youtube.com/v/_eaToCSn7yU?f=user_uploads&app=youtube_gdata&autoplay=1');">Click Here for Fun!</a> What I've done is parsed YouTube's API for the videos on my user channel. The hyperlink above is php generated, meant to trigger the above JavaScript function, and swap the url from attributes contained in ids "movie_url" and "embed_url". Works just like it should in FF, but IE will only perform the .css commands. My guess? IE doesn't like me assigning IDs to PARAM and EMBED, perhaps? What do you think?

  • Haskell Cons Operator (:)

    - by Carson Myers
    I am really new to Haskell (Actually I saw "Real World Haskell" from O'Reilly and thought "hmm, I think I'll learn functional programming" yesterday) and I am wondering: I can use the construct operator to add an item to the beginning of a list: 1 : [2,3] [1,2,3] I tried making an example data type I found in the book and then playing with it: --in a file data BillingInfo = CreditCard Int String String | CashOnDelivery | Invoice Int deriving (Show) --in ghci $ let order_list = [Invoice 2345] $ order_list [Invoice 2345] $ let order_list = CashOnDelivery : order_list $ order_list [CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, CashOnDelivery, ...- etc... it just repeats forever, is this because it uses lazy evaluation? -- EDIT -- okay, so it is being pounded into my head that let order_list = CashOnDelivery:order_list doesn't add CashOnDelivery to the original order_list and then set the result to order_list, but instead is recursive and creates an infinite list, forever adding CashOnDelivery to the beginning of itself. Of course now I remember that Haskell is a functional language and I can't change the value of the original order_list, so what should I do for a simple "tack this on to the end (or beginning, whatever) of this list?" Make a function which takes a list and BillingInfo as arguments, and then return a list? -- EDIT 2 -- well, based on all the answers I'm getting and the lack of being able to pass an object by reference and mutate variables (such as I'm used to)... I think that I have just asked this question prematurely and that I really need to delve further into the functional paradigm before I can expect to really understand the answers to my questions... I guess what i was looking for was how to write a function or something, taking a list and an item, and returning a list under the same name so the function could be called more than once, without changing the name every time (as if it was actually a program which would add actual orders to an order list, and the user wouldn't have to think of a new name for the list each time, but rather append an item to the same list).

    - by 3gwebtrain
    HI, i am using the following code to show a link which is inside the li element. the constrain is, once the mouse enter into li element, and if it's stay inside 3sec, then it need to show. once i leave from li element, immateriality it should hide. for this, i am using : var showTimeOut; var thisElement $('.user-list li').live('mouseover',function(){ thisElement = $(this).children('a.copier-link'); showTimeOut = setInterval(function(){ thisElement.css({'display':'block'}); },3000); }) $('.user-list li').live('mouseleave',function(){ clearInterval(showTimeOut); thisElement.hide(); }) It's work fine. But the problem is, while i cross the li element with just a second, even the interval is calling, and showing the link. but i need to show only, if i stay inside 3sec and it need to hide there after, again i stay back 3sec. anything wrong with my code?, else any one give me the best suggestion? Thanks.

  • password-check directive in angularjs

    - by mpm
    I'm writing a password verify directive : Directives.directive("passwordVerify",function(){ return { require:"ngModel", link: function(scope,element,attrs,ctrl){ ctrl.$parsers.unshift(function(viewValue){ var origin = scope.$eval(attrs["passwordVerify"]); if(origin!==viewValue){ ctrl.$setValidity("passwordVerify",false); return undefined; }else{ ctrl.$setValidity("passwordVerify",true); return viewValue; } }); } }; }); html : <input data-ng-model='user.password' type="password" name='password' placeholder='password' required> <input data-ng-model='user.password_verify' type="password" name='confirm_password' placeholder='confirm password' required data-password-verify="user.password"> Given 2 password fields in a form, if both password values are equal then the field affected by the directive is valid. The issue is that it works one way (i.e. when I type a password in the password-verify field). However, when the original password field is updated, the password-verify doesn't become valid. Any idea how I could have a "two way binding verify?"

  • PHP modifying and combining array

    - by Industrial
    Hi everyone, I have a bit of an array headache going on. The function does what I want, but since I am not yet to well acquainted with PHP:s array/looping functions, so thereby my question is if there's any part of this function that could be improved from a performance-wise perspective? I tried to be as complete as possible in my descriptions in each stage of the functions which shortly described prefixes all keys in an array, fill up eventual empty/non-valid keys with '' and removes the prefixes before returning the array: $var = myFunction ( array('key1', 'key2', 'key3', '111') ); function myFunction ($keys) { $prefix = 'prefix_'; $keyCount = count($keys); // Prefix each key and remove old keys for($i=0;$i<$keyCount; $i++){ $keys[] = $prefix.$keys[$i]; unset($keys[$i]); } // output: array('prefix_key1', 'prefix_key2', 'prefix_key3', '111) // Get all keys from memcached. Only returns valid keys $items = $this->memcache->get($keys); // output: array('prefix_key1' => 'value1', 'prefix_key2' => 'value2', 'prefix_key3'=>'value3) // note: key 111 was not found in memcache. // Fill upp eventual keys that are not valid/empty from memcache $return = $items + array_fill_keys($keys, ''); // output: array('prefix_key1' => 'value1', 'prefix_key2' => 'value2', 'prefix_key3'=>'value3, 'prefix_111' => '') // Remove the prefixes for each result before returning array to application foreach ($return as $k => $v) { $expl = explode($prefix, $k); $return[$expl[1]] = $v; unset($return[$k]); } // output: array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3'=>'value3, '111' => '') return $return; } Thanks a lot!

  • Segmentation fault on certain inputs and not others

    - by Brandon Schwandt
    Heres a function I wrote that has some debugging elements in it already. When i enter either a "y" or a "Y" as the input I get a segmentation fault during runtime. When I enter any other value the code runs. The seg fault kicks out after it scans and gives me the response but before the "scan worked" line is output. DOn't know why it would act like this only on these values. If anyone needs the function call I have that as well. query_user(char *response [10]) { printf("response after query call before clear=%s\n",response); strcpy(response,""); printf("response after clearing before scan=%s\n",response); printf("Enter another person into the line? y or n\n"); scanf("%s", response); printf("response after scan=%s\n",response); printf("scan worked"); } main() { char response [10]; strcpy(response,"y"); printf("response=%s\n",response); printf("When finished with program type \"done\" to exit\n"); while (strcmp(response,"done") != 0) { printf("response after while loop and before query call=%s\n",response); query_user(&response); } } output on error: response after query call before clear=y response after clearing before scan= Enter another person into the line? y or n y response after scan=y Segmentation Fault (core dumped) output on non-error: response after query call before clear=y response after clearing before scan= Enter another person into the line? y or n n response after scan=n scan worked Cycle number 0 (program continues to run outside this function)

  • jQuery password strength plugin callback validation method

    - by jmorhardt
    I'm using a a jQuery plugin to evaluate password strength. It gives a graphical representation for the user to see how secure the password is. I'd like to use it to validate the field as well. The plugin works by assessing the password and giving it a score. I want to be able to verify that the user has entered a password of at least a certain score. The code is hosted on jQuery's site here: http://plugins.jquery.com/project/pstrength. The documentation states that there is a way to add a rule and do custom validation. I'm not sure where to start. The inline documentation states: * === Changelog === * Version 2.1 (18/05/2008) * Added a jQuery method to add a new rule: jQuery('input[@type=password]').pstrength.addRule(name, method, score, active) And later in the code there's this method: jQuery.extend(jQuery.fn.pstrength, { 'addRule': function (name, method, score, active) { digitalspaghetti.password.addRule(name, method, score, active); return true; }, 'changeScore': function (rule, score) { digitalspaghetti.password.ruleScores[rule] = score; return true; }, 'ruleActive': function (rule, active) { digitalspaghetti.password.rules[rule] = active; return true; } }); If anybody has seen an example of how to do this I'd appreciate a pointer in the right direction. Thanks!

  • WCF - "Encountered unexpected character 'c'."

    - by Villager
    Hello, I am trying to do something that I thought would be simple. I need to create a WCF service that I can post to via JQuery. I have an operation in my WCF service that is defined as follows: [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(Method = "POST", BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.WrappedRequest, RequestFormat=WebMessageFormat.Json, ResponseFormat=WebMessageFormat.Json)] public string SendMessage(string message, int urgency) { try { // Do stuff return "1"; // 1 represents success } catch (Exception) { return "0"; } } I then try to access this operation from an ASP.NET page via JQuery. My JQuery code to access this operation looks like the following: function sendMessage(message) { $.ajax({ url: "/resources/services/myService.svc/SendMessage", type: "POST", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: ({ message: message, urgency: '1' }), dataType: "json", success: function (data) { alert("here!"); }, error: function (req, msg, obj) { alert("error: " + req.responseText); } }); } When I execute this script, the error handler is tripped. In it, I receive an error that says: "Encountered unexpected character 'c'." This message is included with a long stack trace. My question is, what am I doing wrong? I have received other posts such as this one (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/320291/how-to-post-an-array-of-complex-objects-with-json-jquery-to-asp-net-mvc-controll) without any luck. How do I get this basic interaction working? Thank you!

  • Broken JS Loop with Google Maps...

I haven't changed the working code, but i did wrap it in the for...in loop youll see below. The issue is that no matter what marker I click it always triggers the last marker/infoWindow that was placed. $(function(){ var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(45.522015,-122.683811); var settings = { zoom: 10, center: latlng, disableDefaultUI:true, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE }; var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), settings); $.getJSON('api',function(json){ for (var property in json) { if (json.hasOwnProperty(property)) { var json_data = json[property]; var the_marker = new google.maps.Marker({ title:json_data.item.headline, map:map, clickable:true, position:new google.maps.LatLng( parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].latitude), parseFloat(json_data.item.geoarray[0].longitude) ) }); var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: '<div><h1>'+json_data.item.headline+'</h1><p>'+json_data.item.full_content+'</p></div>' }); new google.maps.event.addListener(the_marker, 'click', function() { infowindow.open(map,the_marker); }); } } }); }); Thank you for whoever figures this out!

  • Using array instead of lots of db queries in PHP

Please help. function genMenu($parent, $level, $menu, $utype) { global $db; $stmt=$db->prepare("select id, name FROM navigation WHERE parent = ? AND menu=? AND user_type=?") or die($db->error); $stmt->bind_param("iii", $parent, $menu, $utype) or die($stmt->error); $stmt->execute() or die($stmt->error); $stmt->store_result(); /* bind variables to prepared statement */ $stmt->bind_result($id, $name) or die($stmt->error); if ($level > 0 && $stmt->num_rows > 0) { echo "\n<ul>\n"; } while ($stmt->fetch()) { echo "<li>"; echo '<a href="?page=' . $id .   • Cannot redeclare class on a copy of a site

    - by Polity
    I've developed a small SMS utility for a customer in PHP. The details are of non-importance. This project is hosted in: http://project.example.com/customer1 Now a second customer requests almost the same functionality, one cheap way of providing this is to copy the project from the first customer and modify it slightly. So i made a direct copy of the project for customer1 to another folder for customer 2. This project is hosted in: http://project.example.com/customer2 Now when i try and run the project for customer2 (calling a single page), i get the error message: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class SmsService in /var/www/html/project/customer1/application/service.class.php on line 3 Here, service.class.php is a simple interface with 3 methods: interface SmsService { public function SendSms($mobile, $customerId, $customerName, $message); public function QueryIncomingResponse(); public function CleanExpiredConfirmations($maxConfirmationDays); } printing the backtrace in service.class.php reveals something interresting: #0 require_once() called at [/var/www/html/project/customer2/endpoint/queryIncomingResponse.php:2] Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class SmsService in /var/www/html/project/customer1/application/service.class.php on line 3 Line 2 in queryIncomingResponses is the very first require line there is. Line 3 in service.class.php is the first statement there is in the file (Line 2 is an empty line and line 1 is the php file opening tag). Naturally, I only work with relative requires (double checked this) so there is no way one include/require from customer2 actually refers to a file for customer1. It seems to me that in some way SmsService and other classes gets cached by PHP. (I have little control over the server environment). One solution to this would be namespaces. Unfortunatly, we work with PHP 5.1.7 where namespaces are not a part of the language feature just yet. Another way would be to mimic namespaces by prefixing all classes but this approach just feels dirty. Does anyone have more information on this problem and possibly solutions? Many thanks in advance!

I was able to get the 'hello world' example running just fin: require_once 'path/to/F3.php'; F3::route('GET /','home'); function home() { echo 'Hello, world!'; } F3::run(); But when I try to add in the second part, which has two routes: require_once 'F3/F3.php'; F3::route('GET /','home'); function home() { echo 'Hello, world!'; } F3::route('GET /about','about'); function about() { echo 'About Us.'; } F3::run(); I get a 404 error if I try the second URL: /about Not sure why one of the mod_rewrite commands would be working and not the other. • JQuery AJAX returned too much data that I had not requested

    Hi all, I am using CakePHP 1.26 and CDN JQuery in this URL: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js In a HTML web page, I have these lines of code: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://mywebsite.com/controllers/avail/"+curl, success: function(data) { alert(data);} }); and in the PHP page, I got another few lines of code: function avail($uname){ $result1=$this->Site1->User->findByusername($uname); if($result1){ return 1; } else{ return 0; } } As you see, the Avail function will return either zero or one. But there was some redundant data returned from the server, what I saw in the Alert box was somthing like this (rather than 0 or 1): <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Missing Method in Controller</title> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> /* CSS Document */ /*PAGE LAYOUT*/ 0

  • [jQuery] What would be the best way to perform a basic CRUD using AJAX

The question is: do I have to create a function in JS and add onmouseclick event in the HTML? is there a more consistent way for doing this, like adding $('.delete').click() directly in the js file? If so, how do I pass the row ID for the ajax function? What I really want is to know how to pass the row ID to $.ajax() jQuery function through a clean! way

    im trying to copy a const char array to some place in the memory and point to it . lets say im defining this var under the main prog : char *p = NULL; and sending it to a function with a string : myFunc(&p, "Hello"); now i want that at the end of this function the pointer will point to the letter H but if i puts() it, it will print Hello . here is what i tried to do : void myFunc(char** ptr , const char strng[] ) { *ptr=(char *) malloc(sizeof(strng)); char * tmp=*ptr; int i=0; while (1) { *ptr[i]=strng[i]; if (strng[i]=='\0') break; i++; } *ptr=tmp; } i know its a rubbish now, but i would like to understand how to do it right, my idea was to allocate the needed memory, copy a char and move forward with the pointer, etc.. also i tried to make the ptr argument byreferenec (like &ptr) but with no success due to a problem with the lvalue and rvalue . the only thing is changeable for me is the function, and i would like not to use strings, but chars as this is and exercise . thanks for any help in advance.

  • jQuery indexOf select box manipulation

    - by kenny99
    Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to remove options from a select box when that option has been selected in an adjacent select box. Basically the user has the option to add multiple records here via select boxes, but I want to remove the list of options available to them so that, for example, they can't enter the same value in two select boxes. When an Add More button is clicked, I fade in the next select box container. A number of select boxes have been generated by PHP and I use JS to hide them. Each select box has a unique number appended to the ID, so i want to access those select boxes which contain the string "other_pet_types", then I want to iterate through the currently visible ones and build an array of the values which have been selected, which I will then remove from the list of options in the newly displayed select box. This is what I have so far, but it's definitely not right - I can't get the initial test on the ID to work. Any pointers greatly appreciated as i realise i'm pretty wide of the mark at the moment! var vals = new Array(); //build array with currently selected options $('p.mult_entries select').each(function(){ vals += $(this).val(); }); $("p.mult_entries:hidden:first").fadeIn("slow", function() { $(this).find(('select').attr('id').indexOf('other_pet_types') > 0).each(function(){ console.log($(this).val()); //as expected prints nothing - need to iterate through the options of the above select //once i extract the correct values, iterate through new select box and use inArray to remove options where that value already exists in one of previous select boxes }); });

  • Filtering a select list via input box & jquery

    - by zSysop
    Hi all, I was wondering if i could get some help with filtering a select list using an input box via jquery. Here's what my js looks like, but it doesnt seem to work. I'm guessing this is because options within a select list are not hide-able. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#inputFilter").change(function() { var filter = $(this).val(); $("#selectList option").each(function() { var match = $(this).text().search(new RegExp(filter, "i")); if (match > 0) { $(this).show(); // Does not work } else $(this).hide(); }); }); }); </script> and here's my html <input id="inputFilter" /> <select id="selectList"> <option value="1111" text="1111 - London" /> <option value="1112" text="1111 - Paris" /> </select>

  • Dynamic editor upload into web page. Need advice

    - by Andrew Florko
    Hello everybody, I am writing intranet site for tracking employees science activities in organization. There lots of editable information on each personal page (science degree, publications & so on) so I upload editor per request (user clicks "edit" and modal dialog with html editor: set of textboxes/comboboxes/autocomplete features & validation logic appears). Editor is html layout that is wrapped with jquery dialog plugin + some logic, written as javascript functions that should be invoked from the callee page (onsubmit, validate, afterLoad editor events). There are also attributes (editor preferrable with and height) that are passed to callee page also. Currently I send these functions & attribute as ... function onsubmit() { }; function validate() { } var width = 640; var height = 800 ... code that is embedded into the request page. Function calls and editor markup wrap with jquery plugin completed in the callee page. It works, but I have some try { call editor event handler } catch { } stuff in callee page (because not every editor provides these functions) and some attributes (editor width & height for instance) that are loaded as variables declared in javascript. Please, suggest, is there a better approach to build & use custom editors for my situation. Thank you in advance!

  • How to detect what allowed character in current Regular Expression by using JavaScript?

    - by Soul_Master
    In my web application, I create some framework that use to bind model data to control on page. Each model property has some rule like string length, not null and regular expression. Before submit page, framework validate any binded control with defined rules. So, I want to detect what character that is allowed in each regular expression rule like the following example. "^[0-9]$" allow only digit characters like 1, 2, 3. "^[a-zA-Z_][a-zA-Z_-0-9]+$" allow only a-z, - and _ characters However, this function should not care about grouping, positioning of allowed character. It just tells about possible characters only. By the way, complex regular expression like find two words near(\bword1\W+(?:\w+\W+){1,6}?word2\b) must be ignore to verify and it should return any characters is possible. Do you have any idea for creating this function? PS. I know it easy to create specified function like numeric only for allowing only digit characters. But I need share/reuse same piece of code both data tier(contains all model validator) and UI tier without modify anything. Thanks
