  I am trying to insert a parameter through an aspx page via text box. I set my parameters up, but evertime I executenonquery, the @Username shows up in the database instead of the actual value. • Windows Service Webbrowser object invalid cast exception error

  Hi all, I'm having a bit of trouble with a Windows Service webbrowser object. It's attempting to load in values of username and password to a site but keeps failing and throwing the following error: System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid. at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.IHTMLDocument2.GetLocation() at System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser.get_Document() at MyWindowsService.MyDataProcessor.login() The code that I'm using to make this call is: MyWebBrowser.Document.All["Login"].SetAttribute("Value", username); MyWebBrowser.Document.All["Password"].SetAttribute("Value", password); MyWebBrowser.Document.All["submit"].InvokeMember("Click"); Any ideas as to why it keeps failing? • Using sem_t in a Qt Project

  Hi everyone, I'm working on a simulation in Qt (C++), and would like to make use of a Semaphore wrapper class I made for the sem_t type. Although I am including semaphore.h in my wrapper class, running qmake provides the following error: 'sem_t does not name a type' I believe this is a library/linking error, since I can compile the class without problems from the command line. I've read that you can specify external libraries to include during compilation. However, I'm a) not sure how to do this in the project file, and b) not sure which library to include in order to access semaphore.h. Any help would be greatly appreciated. • Filtering a collection based on filtering rules

  I have an observable collection of Entities, with each entity having a status added, deleted, modified and cancelled. I have four buttons (toggle) when clicked should filter my collection as below: If I select the button Added, then my collection should contain entities with status added. If I select the button Deleted and Added, then my collection should contain entities with status Deleted AND entities with status Added, none of the rest. If I select the button Deleted,Added and Modified, then my collection should contain entities with status Deleted, Added AND Modified. . . so on. If I unselect one of the buttons, it should remove those entities from the collection with that status. For example if I unselect Deleted, but select Added and Modified, then my collection should contain items with Added and Modified status and NOT Deleted ones. For implementing this I have created a master collection and a filtered collection. The Filter collection gets filtered based on the selections and unselections. It should be just Modified and Cancelled in the filtered collection. Can you please help me in solving this issue? Also do I need 2 different list to solve this. Please note that I'm using .NET 3.5.

• setting a timeout using a manually created forms authentication ticket

  The constructors for manually creating FormsAuthenticationTicket objects force us to set an "expiration" value, and this value overrides the "timeout" setting in web.config in my tags, which is not what I want, because now the user doesn't timeout. The "session" just expires at the given time. I need to manually create my ticket for UserData reasons, and it is just the way I decided to build my app. I guess I could spend a whole lot of time and redo the way my app. authorizes, and store the "userdata" elsewhere... but this seems extremely tedious for something so small.. Is there anyway to manually create an Auth Ticket and still maintain timeout settings?! And by timeout, I mean resetting the timer on user activity. Not a fixed timeout! Please help!

  Hello, all! I have a WPF view that displays a Shipment entity. I have a textblock that contains an asterisk which will alert a user that the record is changed but unsaved. I originally hoped to bind the visibility of this (with converter) to the Shipment.EntityState property. If value = EntityState.Modified Then Return Visibility.Visible Else Return Visibility.Collapsed End If The property gets updated just fine, but the view is ignorant of the change. What I need to know is, how can I get the UI to receive notification of the property change. If this cannot be done, is there a good way of writing my own IsDirty property that handles editing retractions (i.e. if I change the value of a property, then change it back to it's original it does not get counted as an edit, and state remains Unchanged). Any help, as always, will be greatly appreciated. Cory

• Passing to service custom class instance in WCF

  Hi, I have my custom class Customer with its properties. I added DataContract mark above the class and DataMember to properties and it was working fine, but I'm calling a service class's function, passing customer instance as parameter and some of my properties get 0 values. While debugging I can see my properties values and after it gets to the function, some properties' values are 0. Why it can be so? There's no code between this two actions. DataContract mark workes fine, everything's ok. Any suggestions on this issue? I tried to change ByRef to ByVal, but it doesn't change anything. Why it would pass other values right and some of integer types just 0? Maybe the answer is simple, but I can't figure it out.   Hello, I am trying to validate Elements and Attributes exist in an XElement. Basically, I was wondering if anyone had a generic way to check if a give path is null. I don't have access to System.Xml.XPath (doing this for compact framework). Basically what I have is: <root value"1000"> <element1>test<element1> <element2>1<element2> .... <element30> <subElement1>stuff</subElement1> </element30> </root> Now I know you can "if this is null do this and that". But since there is upwards of 30 elements that can be under root, which are optional elements, I need a way to grab the value if it exists and convert it to the correct type (which I know) in a nice compact way. Any suggestions?

• How to print css applied background images with the winforms webbrowser control

  I am using the webbrowser control in winforms and discovered now that background images which I apply with css are not included in the printouts. Is there a way to make the webbrowser print the background of the displayed document too? Edit: Since I wanted to do this programatically, I opted for this solution: using Microsoft.Win32; ...   Hi, I'm trying to use memcache to cache data retrevied from the datastore. Storing stings works fine. But can't one store an object? I get an error "TypeError: 'str' object is not callable" when trying to store with this: pageData = PageType(page) memcache.add(memcacheid, pageData, 60) I've read in the documentation that it requires "The value type can be any value supported by the Python pickle module for serializing values." But don't really understand what that is. Or how to convert pageData to it. Any ideas? ..fredrik

  I see everywhere constructions like: int? myVar = null; string test = myVar.HasValue ? myVar.Value.ToString() : string.Empty; Why not use simply: string test = myVar.ToString(); Isn't that exactly the same ? At least Reflector says that: public override string ToString() { if (!this.HasValue) { return ""; } return this.value.ToString(); } So, is that correct (the shorter version) or am I missing something?

  I'm trying to create a workbook with python and I need to test the values of different cells to fill it but I'm having some troubles. I use xlrd and xlwt to create and edit the excel file. • MTU mismatch between GetIfEntry and netsh

  I'm working on pseudo-transport layer software that runs over UDP, providing reliable connection-oriented transmission, as an alternative to TCP. In order to maximize network efficiency, we query the MTU of the "best" network adapter upon initialization. MIB_IFROW row = {0}; row.dwIndex = dwBestIfIndex; dwRes = GetIfEntry(&row); Searching online I found that you can use the following netsh commands to query for this same value, from a command prompt (not a C++ API) netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces The troubling issue is that while row.dwMtu may be set to 1500, snooping the network traffic on the sending laptop shows that our packets are fragmented into 1300 byte packets. netsh also reports that the MTU is 1300. Clearly the value reported by netsh command is the actual used values. Anyone know what API I can call to get the same values as netsh?

  I am writing a C# application which allows users to store emails in a MS SQL Server database. Many times, multiple users will be copied on an email from a customer. If they all try to add the same email to the database, I want to make sure that the email is only added once. MD5 springs to mind as a way to do this. I don't need to worry about malicious tampering, only to make sure that the same email will map to the same hash and that no two emails with different content will map to the same hash. My question really boils down to how one would combine multiple fields into one MD5 (or other) hash value. Some of these fields will have a single value per email (e.g. subject, body, sender email address) while others will have multiple values (varying numbers of attachments, recipients). I want to develop a way of uniquely identifying an email that will be platform and language independent (not based on serialization). Any advice?

  Any suggestions on whether fewer check constraints are better, or more? How should they be grouped if at all? Suppose I have 3 columns which are VARCHAR2(1 BYTE), each of which is a 'T'/'F' flag. I want to add a check constraint to each column specifying that only characters IN ('T', 'F') are allowed. Should I have 3 separate check constraints, one for each column: COL_1 IN ('T', 'F') COL_2 IN ('T', 'F') COL_3 IN ('T', 'F') Or a single check constraint: COL_1 IN ('T', 'F') AND COL_2 IN ('T', 'F') AND COL_3 IN ('T', 'F') My thoughts are it is best to keep these three separate, as the columns are logically unrelated to each other. The only case I would have a check constraint that examines more than one column is if there was some relationship between the value in one and the value in another, e.g.: (PARENT_CNT > 0 AND PRIMARY_PARENT IS NOT NULL) OR (PARENT_CNT = 0 AND PRIMARY_PARENT IS NULL)

  I need to find the highest value from the database that satisfies a certain formatting convention. Specifically, I would like to fund the highest value that looks like EU999999 ('9' being any digit) select max(col) will return something like 'EUZ...' for instance that I want to exclude. The following query does the trick, but I can't produce this via Linq-to-SQL. There seems to be no translation for the isnumeric() function in SQL Server. select max(col) from table where col like 'EU%' and 1=isnumeric(replace(col, 'EU', '')) Writing a database function, stored procedure, or anything else of that nature is far down the list of my preferred solutions, because this table is central to my app and I cannot easily replace the table object with something else. What's the next-best solution?

  Hello guys, I'm having troubles with the logic and would apprecite any help/tips. I have <Deposits> elements and <Receipts> elements. However there isn't any identification what receipt was paid toward what deposit. I am trying to update the <Deposits> elements with the following attributes: @DueAmont - the amount that is still due to pay @Status - whether it's paid, outstanding (partly paid) or due @ReceiptDate - the latest receipt's date that was paid towards this deposit Every deposit could be paid with one or more receipts. It also could happen, that 1 receipt could cover one or more deposits. For example. If there are 3 deposits: 500 100 450 That are paid with the following receipts: 200 100 250 I want to get the following info: Deposit 1 is fully paid (status=paid, dueAmount=0, receiptNum=3. Deposit 2 is partly paid (status=outstanding, dueAmount=50, receiptNum=3. Deposit 3 is not paid (status=due, dueAmount=450, receiptNum=NAN. I've added comments in the code explaining what I'm trying to do. I am staring at this code for the 3rd day now non stop - can't see what I'm doing wrong. • WPF Binding issues

  I have WPF window which binds a local Dependency property to a property of my usercontrol. So now I see the value which the window gave me in my usercontrol. I achieve this by setting DataContext of window to the window itself Now once the window is loaded i set the DataContext of usercontrol to a ViewModel class, and at some point of time(based on user action) the control changes values in the control. All fine so far. But now the changed value is not reflected in Windows dependency property. How I can resolve this issue?
