  • Capture bitmap of window in isolation (Windows OS)?

    - by Jake Petroules
I know there's a way to capture a bitmap of a window in Windows without anything that may be obscuring it (e.g. you have a window with a dialog in front, but the dialog is not captured as it would be if you did a simple pixel grab), but I can't remember how to do so. Also I believe this is only possible in Windows Vista and above, with the introduction of the compositing window manager?

  • How do I tell cmake to do these two steps to use winpcap?

    - by Gtker
Quoted from here: If your program uses Win32 specific functions of WinPcap, remember to include WPCAP among the preprocessor definitions. If your program uses the remote capture capabilities of WinPcap, add HAVE_REMOTE among the preprocessor definitions. Do not include remote-ext.h directly in your source files. Has anyone managed to use winpcap with cmake?

    - by Jason
I'm actually needing to include html links in the longdesc attribute. I've altered prettyphoto to use longdesc instead of title for images, but I need to include html links in those descriptions. I know it's possible with code for characters, I just don't remember what those are. Thanks

  • How to add properties to users in ASP.NET MVC2?

    - by giglegi
After I have the initial ASP.NET MVC 2 website and the default Membership provider up, how do I start adding features specific to an user? Like, say, we want to let users choose their favorite products and we want to remember these choices somehow or add a favorite color property to an user? Where should these customizations go and how should they be associated with the out-of-the-box membership system?

  • Looking for early paper about compiling object-oriented code

    - by Robert Kosara
I remember reading a paper a long time ago that talked about object-oriented programming. I believe that this was from the early 1980s or perhaps even before then. This was at the time when object-oriented programming was still done through pre-processors, and one thing that stuck with me is this: it argued that you could write code in either procedural or object-oriented fashion, and after preprocessing/compiling, you would end up with the exact same machine code. Does anybody know which paper I'm talking about?

  • [X]HTML custom tags: pros & cons

    - by o_O Tync
I'd like to use some semantic [X]HTML tags instead of <div>s: <article>, <product>, <footer> etc. Some of them are already presented in the upcoming HTML5, however, it's not fully supported. Which are the possible cons I might face when Rendering? Using CSS, JS? The one I remember is: IE6 can't clone tags it doesn't know.
