  • How to scroll to the new added item in a ListView

    - by Thomas
Hi all My application show a ListView with a button which allow user to add an element. When the user clicks on this button, another Activity is started to allow user to populate the new element. When the add is finished, we return to the previous Activity with the ListView and I would like to scroll to the new element. Note that this element is not necessarily at the end of the ListView because there is an "order by" when I retrieve the datas from the database. I know I need the cursor position of the new element to make the ListView scrool to it, but the only info I have about this element is its id, so how to convert this id to cursor position ? Do I have to loop on the cursor to find the position ? Thanks in advance

  • How to change colors for ListView, alternating row color?

    - by Gerry
I have a couple of list views, one uses TextViews laid out with xml, the other uses a custom class derived from View. The default halloween color scheme is pretty ugly. How can I change the background and selection colors for the list elements. Ideally, I'd like to be able to do this in code not xml, to handle the custom view. Thanks, Gerry

  • DDMS plugin not loading GPX files

    - by Craig
    I am unable to load a GPX file in the DDMS eclipse plugin. When specifying a GPX file, no points are added to the emulator control list. I have tried adding KML files as well, generated in Google earth. Is there a way to get these files to work? The content of the file is listed below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <gpx version="1.0" creator="RunKeeper - http://www.runkeeper.com" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd"> <trk> <name>Running 11/30/09 3:37 pm11/30/09 3:37 pm</name> <time>2009-11-30T15:37:08Z</time> <trkseg> <trkpt lat="41.811406000" lon="-72.521427000"> <ele>37.000000</ele> <time>2009-11-30T15:37:08Z</time> </trkpt> <trkpt lat="41.811030000" lon="-72.522882000"> <ele>38.000000</ele> <time>2009-11-30T15:37:10Z</time> </trkpt>

  • Getting GPS data?

    - by svebee
    Inside public class IAmHere extends Activity implements LocationListener { i have @Override public void onLocationChanged(Location location) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void onProviderDisabled(String provider) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void onProviderEnabled(String provider) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } @Override public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } and inside public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.iamhere); i have LocationManager lm = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); List<String> providers = lm.getProviders(true); /* Loop over the array backwards, and if you get an accurate location, then break out the loop*/ Location l = null; for (int i=providers.size()-1; i>=0; i--) { l = lm.getLastKnownLocation(providers.get(i)); if (l != null) break; } double[] gps = new double[2]; if (l != null) { gps[0] = l.getLatitude(); gps[1] = l.getLongitude(); } gpsString = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.gpsString); String Data = ""; String koordinata1 = Double.toString(gps[0]); String koordinata2 = Double.toString(gps[1]); Data = Data + koordinata1 + " | " + koordinata2 + "\n"; gpsString.setText(String.valueOf(Data)); but seems it's not working? Why? I mean even emulator doesn't want to send GPS data - When I click "send" via UI or console, nothing happens...? Thank you.

  • Incremental Timer

    - by Donal Rafferty
I'm currently using a Timer and TimerTask to perform some work every 30 seconds. My problem is that after each time I do this work I want to increment the interval time of the Timer. So for example it starts off with 30 seconds between the timer firing but I want to add 10 seconds to the interval then so that the next time the Timer takes 40 seconds before it fires. Here is my current code: public void StartScanning() { scanTask = new TimerTask() { public void run() { handler.post(new Runnable() { public void run() { wifiManager.startScan(); scanCount++; if(SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME <= SCAN_MAX_INTERVAL){ SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME = SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME + SCAN_INCREASE_INTERVAL; t.schedule(scanTask, 0, SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME); } } }); }}; Log.d("SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME ** ", "SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME ** = " + SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME); t.schedule(scanTask, 0, SCAN_INTERVAL_TIME); } But the above gives the following error: 05-26 11:48:02.472: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(4210): java.lang.IllegalStateException: TimerTask is scheduled already Calling cancel or purge doesn't help. So I was wondering if anyone can help me find a solution? Is a timer even the right way to approach this?

  • How to get a continuous Touch Event?

    - by daliz
My class extends View and I need to get continuous touch events on it. If I use: public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent me) { if(me.getAction()==MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN) { myAction(); } return true; } ... the touch event is captured once. What if I need to get continuous touches without moving the finger? Please, tell me I don't need to use threads or timers. My app is already too much heavy. Thanks.

  • Background image for list view still shows white behind text for cells.

    - by MonkeyTroy
I wanted to put a background image partially visible behind a list view. I created a list view in my nib with an image view behind it and made the list view background 20% opacity. This allows the background image to show thru but my text in the cells show a white background behind and if I create the cells in cellForRowAtIndexPath the cells have a white background too. I am creating and setting the cell textLabel and the detailTextLabel in the cellForRowAtIndexPath event. Not sure how to get rid of that, or if there is a better way to do the background image.

  • Jwplayer 6: html5 fullscreen when video clicked to play

    - by caaruiz
I want to be able to use jwplayer so that when the user clicks on the video the video will start to play in fullscreen mode. I want this functionality to work on mobile devices that support html5. If the video is played on a mobile device it will take up the whole screen. Youtube and Vimeo currently do this on mobile devices. The Link Below uses Html5 video tag, which plays in fullscreen on mobile device when the video is clicked on. The only way I that I know that jwplayer allows fullscreen is that I manually click on the fullscreen button, but it would be nice to only click on the video to trigger the video to play in full screen.

  • Custom component which displays voice recognition button if available

    - by steff
Hi evereyone, I'd like to create a custom component which supports voice recognition. It will primarily be an extended EditText which should show the microphone button for voice recognition if it is available. I wanted to to look at the search app-widget on the homescreen but I don't find it in the source. This is intended to use the voice recognition as some sort of dictation device, i.e. the user does not have to type but use his voice instead. So could anyone please point me in some direction? Thanks in advance, Steff

But I find on my Droid phone, after adding a proximityAlert and leaving the phone over night for charging, the proximityAlert does not work the next day. How can I make sure that my proximityAlert is active indefinitely unless the user removes it? Thanks, Prasanna

Is there anything else that I need to do if my device is Droid? It seems there are discussions on this issue but I could not find any definitive answer. Thank you.
