  • Multiple file selection for an upload control

    - by Abel Morelos
Hi, I was trying to do something like this: http://www.element-it.com/Examples/MultiPowUpload/AdvancedHTMLinterface.html But in my search for information I found that is not possible to perform multiple file selection with simple HTML and JavaScript (and JSP in the server side). There is a way to do this without using Flash? A third party component you could recommend? Thanks.

  • iPhone database load

    - by Mizan
I have a sqlite databse that holds a table. The table contains about 7500 data. I've fetch the 7500 data in a UITableView. A UISearchBar is used to search the UITableView. There is no problem in simulator but when I run in a iPhone device, then it will take time to load and when I type to SearchBar then it hangs the device keyboard. Is there any optimal solution to load 7500 data in a UITableView?

  • Searching a process' memory on Linux

    - by Matt Joiner
How can I search the memory state of an process in Linux? Specifically I wish to identify certain regions of interest, and peek at them at regular intervals, possibly occasionally poking new values. I suspect an answer may involve calls to ptrace(), and reading /proc/[pid]/mem, but need more to go on.

Neither the code examples or the source could help me. Thanks, William van Doorn

  • Searching for SD-cards

    - by Shaddix
I need to implement searching for SD-cards in my program. Currently I'm using search for all removable devices like: searcher = New Management.ManagementObjectSearcher("\\localhost\root\cimv2", "SELECT DeviceId FROM Win32_LogicalDisk WHERE DriveType=2 AND Size>0"); But it find USB flash drives also. Is there a proper way to find SD-cards only? What I need is in general only drive letter for available SD-cards (like "F:" or so).

  • The limits of parallelism

Is it possible to solve a problem of O(n!) complexity within a reasonable time given infinite number of processing units and infinite space? The typical example of O(n!) problem is brute-force search: trying all permutations (ordered combinations).

  • Which data structures and algorithms book should I buy?

    - by Hei
I know C and C++ and I have some experience with Java, but I don't know too much about Algorithms and Data Structures. I did a search on Amazon, but I don't know what book should I choose. I don't want a book which put its basis only on the theoretic part; I want the practical part too (probably more than the theoretical one :) ). I don't want the code to be implemented in a certain language, but if is in Java, probably I would happier. :)

  • list of uids / names of System Preferences > Accounts

    - by neoneye
How can I obtain an array with uid and names? I could iterate from 0 to 99999 and do a getpwnam(). However most machines have less than 5 accounts, so it's not optimal. I don't know what framework is responsible for this and thus I have no clue what to search for. Is there a more optimal solution that can traverse the accounts?

  • Is there a jquery plugin for table paginnation and sorting support via ajax call?

    - by Ethan
I am looking for a jquery plugin for table paginnation and sorting (and search/filtering hopefully). Datasource could be obtained locally or via ajax call. Hopefully comes with most of the features of this script: http://www.leigeber.com/2009/11/advanced-javascript-table-sorter/ Here is the demo of this script: http://sandbox.leigeber.com/tinytablev3/index.html The problem with this script is that it only support local datasource.

  • What's the worst name you've seen for a product? [closed]

    - by Dean J
(Community wiki from the start.) What's the worst name you've seen for a product? It might be a euphemism the company didn't know about, maybe something like Penetrode (from Office Space). It might be something impossible to do a web search on, like the band named "Download". It might be some combination of random syllables that's just awful. But no matter what, it's bad. What's the worst you've seen?

  • Allowed characters in linux environment variable names

    - by Christian Semrau
What characters are allowed in linux environment variable names? My cursory search of man pages and the web did only produce information about how to work with variables, but not which names are allowed. I have a Java program that requires an defined environment variable containing a dot, like com.example.fancyproperty. With Windows I can set that variable, but I had no luck setting it in linux (tried in SuSE and Ubuntu). Is that variable name even allowed?
