Hello, Each time I try to deploy my server side code, the build fails. If I try to restart my machine, the build is successful but fails later when I try to build the subsequent times. I get the following Severe messages when I attempt to build: SEVERE: "IOP00410216: (COMM_FAILURE) Unable to create IIOP listener on the specified host/port: localhost/3820" org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: SUN minor code: 216 completed: No WARNING: Can not find resource bundle for this logger. class name that failed: org.glassfish.enterprise.iiop.impl.IIOPSSLSocketFactory WARNING: Exception getting SocketInfo java.lang.RuntimeException: Orb initialization eror WARNING: "IOP02310202: (OBJ_ADAPTER) Error in connecting servant to ORB" org.omg.CORBA.OBJ_ADAPTER: vmcid: SUN minor code: 202 completed: No Following are the details for the severe method: SEVERE: "IOP00410216: (COMM_FAILURE) Unable to create IIOP listener on the specified host/port: localhost/3820" org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: SUN minor code: 216 completed: No at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.logging.ORBUtilSystemException.createListenerFailed(ORBUtilSystemException.java:3835) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.logging.ORBUtilSystemException.createListenerFailed(ORBUtilSystemException.java:3855) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.transport.SocketOrChannelAcceptorImpl.initialize(SocketOrChannelAcceptorImpl.java:98) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.transport.CorbaTransportManagerImpl.getAcceptors(CorbaTransportManagerImpl.java:247) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.transport.CorbaTransportManagerImpl.addToIORTemplate(CorbaTransportManagerImpl.java:264) at com.sun.corba.ee.spi.oa.ObjectAdapterBase.initializeTemplate(ObjectAdapterBase.java:131) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.oa.toa.TOAImpl.<init>(TOAImpl.java:130) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.oa.toa.TOAFactory.getTOA(TOAFactory.java:114) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orb.ORBImpl.connect(ORBImpl.java:1740) at com.sun.corba.ee.spi.presentation.rmi.StubAdapter.connect(StubAdapter.java:212) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orb.ORBImpl.getIOR(ORBImpl.java:2194) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orb.ORBImpl.getFVDCodeBaseIOR(ORBImpl.java:966) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.glassfish.gmbal.generic.FacetAccessorImpl.invoke(FacetAccessorImpl.java:126) at org.glassfish.gmbal.impl.MBeanImpl.invoke(MBeanImpl.java:440) at org.glassfish.gmbal.impl.AttributeDescriptor.get(AttributeDescriptor.java:144) at org.glassfish.gmbal.impl.MBeanSkeleton.getAttribute(MBeanSkeleton.java:569) at org.glassfish.gmbal.impl.MBeanSkeleton.getAttributes(MBeanSkeleton.java:625) at org.glassfish.gmbal.impl.MBeanImpl.getAttributes(MBeanImpl.java:389) at com.sun.jmx.interceptor.DefaultMBeanServerInterceptor.getAttributes(DefaultMBeanServerInterceptor.java:726) at com.sun.jmx.mbeanserver.JmxMBeanServer.getAttributes(JmxMBeanServer.java:665) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.util.jmx.MBeanProxyHandler.getAttributes(MBeanProxyHandler.java:273) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.proxy.AMXProxyHandler.attributesMap(AMXProxyHandler.java:1193) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.proxy.AMXProxyHandler.attributesMap(AMXProxyHandler.java:1203) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.proxy.AMXProxyHandler.handleSpecialMethod(AMXProxyHandler.java:414) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.proxy.AMXProxyHandler._invoke(AMXProxyHandler.java:792) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.proxy.AMXProxyHandler.invoke(AMXProxyHandler.java:526) at $Proxy107.attributesMap(Unknown Source) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.AMXValidator._validate(AMXValidator.java:642) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.core.AMXValidator.validate(AMXValidator.java:1298) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.impl.mbean.ComplianceMonitor$ValidatorThread.doRun(ComplianceMonitor.java:256) at org.glassfish.admin.amx.impl.mbean.ComplianceMonitor$ValidatorThread.run(ComplianceMonitor.java:227) Caused by: java.net.BindException: Address already in use at sun.nio.ch.Net.bind(Native Method) at sun.nio.ch.ServerSocketChannelImpl.bind(ServerSocketChannelImpl.java:119) at sun.nio.ch.ServerSocketAdaptor.bind(ServerSocketAdaptor.java:59) at sun.nio.ch.ServerSocketAdaptor.bind(ServerSocketAdaptor.java:52) at org.glassfish.enterprise.iiop.impl.IIOPSSLSocketFactory.createServerSocket(IIOPSSLSocketFactory.java:293) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.transport.SocketOrChannelAcceptorImpl.initialize(SocketOrChannelAcceptorImpl.java:91) ... 32 more

  • Behavior of deployment tool in Visual Studio Express

    - by Bart Silverstrim
I created a quick game in VS Express (2008) and used the built-in deployment tool (click once?) to create an installer. I took it to another computer, ran it (Windows XP) to install from a burned CD. It created the program but only for the logged in user. Is there a setting I'm missing for installing it to all users on an XP system? Or is this a limitation of the Express edition's installer?

  • Capistrano, Mercurial and branches

    - by J. Pablo Fernández
It is my understanding that although Mercurial has support from branches, the community generally clone repos instead of creating branches. Similar to the Darcs model, unlike the Git model. I'm deploying a Ruby on Rails app with Capistrano and there I'd like to separate the production from the development branch. Should I point Capistrano to a different repo or should I use branches?

  • Which HTML and CSS standards reached W3C Recommendation status?

    - by mxn 4000
Could anyone please tell me which HTML/XHTML and CSS versions reached "Recommendation" (not "Candidate Recommendation") status? I tried to find the documents at http://www.w3.org/TR/tr-status-stds and they appear to be: 1) "XHTML™ 1.0 The Extensible HyperText Markup Language (Second Edition)" 2) "Cascading Style Sheets (CSS1) Level 1 Specification" Please correct me if I'm wrong. These are kinda neanderthal technologies...

  • Subversion vision and roadmap

    - by gbjbaanb
Recently C Michael Pilato of the core subversion team posted a mail to the subversion dev mailing list suggesting a vision and roadmap for the future of Subversion. Naturally, he wanted as much feedback and response as possible which is why I'm posting this here - to elicit some suggestions and contributions from you, the users of Subversion. Any comments are welcome, and I shall feedback a synopsis with a link to this question to the dev mailing list. Similarly, I've created a post on ServerFault to get feedback from the administator side of things too. So, without further ado: Vision The first thing on his "vision statement" is: Subversion has no future as a DVCS tool. Let's just get that out there. At least two very successful such tools exist already, and to squeeze another horse into that race would be a poor investment of energy and talent. There's no need to suggest distributed features for subversion. If you want a DVCS, there should be no ill-feeling if you migrate to Git, Mercurial or Bazaar. As he says, its pointless trying to make SVN like them when they already exist, especially when there are different usage patterns that SVN should be targetting. The vision for Subversion is: Subversion exists to be universally recognized and adopted as an open-source, centralized version control system characterized by its reliability as a safe haven for valuable data; the simplicity of its model and usage; and its ability to support the needs of a wide variety of users and projects, from individuals to large-scale enterprise operations. Roadmap Several ideas were suggested as being "very nice to have" and are offered as the starting point of a future roadmap. These are: Obliterate Shelve/Checkpoint Repository-dictated Configuration Rename Tracking Improved Merging Improved Tree Conflict Handling Enterprise Authentication Mechanisms Forward History Searching Log Message Templates If anyone has suggestions to add, or comments on these, the subversion community would welcome all of them. Community And lastly, there was a call for more people to become involved with Subversion development. As with most OSS projects it can be daunting to join, but there is now a push for more to be done to help. If you feel like you can contribute, please do so.

  • Why did Dylan loose to Objective-C

    - by Adam Gent
I have played/worked with many different programming languages and Dylan is still one of my favorites. My question is why did Dylan fail when Objective-C, Ruby and even Scheme have had more success? Was Dylans performance that much worse than Objective-C that Apple went with it or was purely for social/political reasons. Hopefully someone from apple will see this question :) BTW if you have no idea what Dylan is please google Dylan Progrmaming Language.

  • Simple thread-safe non-blocking file logger class in c#

    - by Jason Renlan
I have a web application, that will log some information to a file. I am looking for a simple thread-safe non-blocking file logger class in c#. I have little experience with threading. I known there are great logging components out there like log4Net, Enterprise Library Logging Block, ELMAH, but I do not want an external dependence for my application. I was thinking about using this queue implementation http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cpp/lockfreeq.aspx

  • Difference between Java SE/EE/ME?

    - by Richard Knop
Which one should I install when I want to start learning Java? I going to start with some basics so I will create simple programs that create files, directories, edit XML files and so on, nothing too complex for now. I guess Java SE (Standard Edition) is the one I should install on my Windows 7 desktop? I already have Komodo IDE which I will use to write Java code.

  • Which conveniences does CEDET bring to dynamic languages ?

    - by julien
I've been looking into CEDET, but it seems that most of its features would appeal more to developpers working in statically typed languages, and I'm kind of getting cold feet from the amount of tinkering it seems to require. As I work mainly with ruby and javascript, I'm wondering what kind of improvements it could bring when working with these dynamic languages, over a plain TAGS file ?

  • Best practices for model driven development using LiveCycle Data Services

    - by Adnan
What are your advises on using model driven development in developing enterprise applications. Adobe's LiveCycle Data Services looks very promising, I have found numerous tutorials/videos that shows how fast an application can be build by having methods/functions auto-generated. What are the best-practices, is it good/bad to use those auto-generated methods, they can really save a lot of time. All suggestions are welcome, also if you know some existing blog/discussion please let me know.

  • .Net Library for parsing source code files?

    - by Jörg Battermann
Does anyone know of a good .NET library that allows me to parse source code files, but not only .NET source code files (like java, perl, ruby, etc)? I need programmatic access to the contents of various source code files (e.g. class/method /parameter names, types, etc.). Has anyone come across something like this? I know within .NET it is reasonably possible and there are some libraries out there, but I need that to be abstracted to more types of programming languages.
