  • use JSON variable in jQuery dynamically

    - by user1644123
    I have two DIVs, #placeholder AND #imageLoad. When the user clicks on a particular thumb its larger version (thumb2) should then appear in #imageLoad DIV. Here is the jQuery that needs to be fixed: $.getJSON('jsonFile.json', function(data) { var output="<ul>"; for (var i in data.items) { output+="<li><img src=images/items/" + data.items[i].thumb + ".jpg></li>"; } output+="</ul>"; document.getElementById("placeholder").innerHTML=output; }); //This is wrong!! Not working.. $('li').on({ mouseenter: function() { document.getElementById("imageLoad").innerHTML="<img src=images/items/" + data.items[i].thumb2 + ".jpg>"; } }); Here is the external JSON file below (jsonFile.json): {"items":[ { "id":"1", "thumb":"01_sm", "thumb2":"01_md" }, { "id":"2", "thumb":"02_sm", "thumb2":"02_md" } ]}

  • All site interaction through a single page

    - by Jacques Wolfghang
    Hi there I have an idea for a site where there would be no refreshing and all interactions take place via AJAX. The page would load with central space, where all interaction would take place. If a user clicked on a link, the page would request it via AJAX and replace the rectangle's content with the link content. The idea is effectively an AJAX implemented iframe. Are there any disadvantages with this approach? Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on the idea? Thank You for your time Note: I am sorry if it is not clear or hard to understand, English is not my mother tongue. If there is anything you would like made clearer, please comment and I will try my best to make it understood.

  • Zend - Deny access to CSS, JS, Image files

    - by Vincent
    All, I have the following Zend application structure: helloworld - application - configs - controllers - models - layouts - include - library - public - design -- css -- site.css -- js -- global.js -- images -- siteheader.gif -- sitefooter.gif - .htaccess - index.php My .htaccess file in public folder looks like this: Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -s [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -l [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d RewriteRule ^.*$ - [NC,L] RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php [NC,L] My document root points to the "public" folder. Currently, if the user visits a directory level URL, (Ex: http://localhost/design or localhost/css) , my .htaccess file above make sure to show him the "Access Forbidden" page. But if he visits the file level URL, (Ex: http://localhost/design/css/site.css), it shows him the CSS file or the js file or PHP file.. How can I make sure to lock file level access for the above file types, if accessed directly from the URL? Since my application is JS intensive, I want to protect it from users looking at it. Thanks

  • How to design app to be modular / support plugins

    - by Lee
    I'm currently in the process of refactoring my webplayer so that we'll be more easily able to run it on our other internet radio stations. Much of the setup between these players will be very similar, however, some will need to have different UI plugins / other plugins. Currently in the webplayer I do something like this in it's init(): _this.ui = new UI(); _this.ui.playlist = new Playlist(); _this.ui.channelDropdown = new ChannelDropdown(); _this.ui.timecode = ne Timecode(); etc etc This works fine but that blocks me into requiring those objects at run time. What I'd like to do is be able to add those based on the stations needs. Basically my question is, do I need to add some kind of "addPlugin()" functionality here? And if I do that, do I need to constantly check from my WebPlayer object if that plugin exists before it attempts to use it? Like... if (_hasPlugin('playlist')) this.plugins.playlist.add(track); I apologize if some of this might not be clear... really trying to get my head wrapped around all of this. I feel I'm closer but I'm still stuck. Any advice on how I should proceed with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lee

  • Can you explain this odd behavior with dragging items into nested sortables?

    - by RDL
    I have the following setup: A sortable list where one of the <li> has a table with lists in each cell. All of the lists are sortable with each other. Draggable items that can be added to any of the sortables Issue: When adding a draggable item ('drag 1', 'drag 2', 'drag 3') to one of the lists in the horizontal lists (table of lists) it duplicates the draggable when dropped. Sometimes it will create both copies in the same list or one in the item list and one in the column list. Here is a demo: http://jsfiddle.net/MQTgA/ Question: How do I prevent the second item being created when dropping the draggable?

  • KnockoutJS showing a sorted list by item category

    - by Darksbane
    I just started learning knockout this week and everything has gone well except for this one issue. I have a list of items that I sort multiple ways but one of the ways I want to sort needs to have a different display than the standard list. As an example lets say I have this code var BetterListModel = function () { var self = this; food = [ { "name":"Apple", "quantity":"3", "category":"Fruit", "cost":"$1", },{ "name":"Ice Cream", "quantity":"1", "category":"Dairy", "cost":"$6", },{ "name":"Pear", "quantity":"2", "category":"Fruit", "cost":"$2", },{ "name":"Beef", "quantity":"1", "category":"Meat", "cost":"$3", },{ "name":"Milk", "quantity":"5", "category":"Dairy", "cost":"$4", }]; self.allItems = ko.observableArray(food); // Initial items // Initial sort self.sortMe = ko.observable("name"); ko.utils.compareItems = function (l, r) { if (self.sortMe() =="cost"){ return l.cost > r.cost ? 1 : -1 } else if (self.sortMe() =="category"){ return l.category > r.category ? 1 : -1 } else if (self.sortMe() =="quantity"){ return l.quantity > r.quantity ? 1 : -1 }else { return l.name > r.name ? 1 : -1 } }; }; ko.applyBindings(new BetterListModel()); and the HTML <p>Your values:</p> <ul class="deckContents" data-bind="foreach:allItems().sort(ko.utils.compareItems)"> <li><div style="width:100%"><div class="left" style="width:30px" data-bind="text:quantity"></div><div class="left fixedWidth" data-bind="text:name"></div> <div class="left fixedWidth" data-bind="text:cost"></div> <div class="left fixedWidth" data-bind="text:category"></div><div style="clear:both"></div></div></li> </ul> <select data-bind="value:sortMe"> <option selected="selected" value="name">Name</option> <option value="cost">Cost</option> <option value="category">Category</option> <option value="quantity">Quantity</option> </select> </div> So I can sort these just fine by any field I might sort them by name and it will display something like this 3 Apple $1 Fruit 1 Beef $3 Meat 1 Ice Cream $6 Dairy 5 Milk $4 Dairy 2 Pear $2 Fruit Here is a fiddle of what I have so far http://jsfiddle.net/Darksbane/X7KvB/ This display is fine for all the sorts except the category sort. What I want is when I sort them by category to display it like this Fruit 3 Apple $1 Fruit 2 Pear $2 Fruit Meat 1 Beef $3 Meat Dairy 1 Ice Cream $6 Dairy 5 Milk $4 Dairy Does anyone have any idea how I might be able to display this so differently for that one sort?

  • Prevent click event on the clicked element?

    - by nainy
    I have a click event on the body of my document: $("body").on('click.findElem', function(e) { e.stopPropagation(); e.preventDefault(); self.hinter(e.target); return false; }); It basically catches the clicked target and does something to it. However, there are some targets that already have a click event on them, and they prevent my click from being executed at all. How do I overcome that issue? I tried unbinding it, but the click doesn't even work at all to actually execute the unbinding.

  • Including objects from external .js files

    - by Molle
    I have been searching for many hours over several days for this answer and though there are many topics on how to include files in a project (also here at Stack Overflow), I have not yet found THE solution to my problem. I'm working on a project where I want to include one single object at a time, from many different files (I do not want to include the files themselves, only their content). All the object in all the files have the same name, only the content is different. It is important that I do not get a SCRIPT tag in the head section of the page as all the content from the files will have the same names. None of the files will have functions anyways, only one single object, that will need to be loaded one at the time and then discarded when the next element is loaded. The objects will hold the data that will be shown on the page and they will be called from the menu by an 'onclick' event. function setMenu() // The menu is being build. { var html = ''; html += '<table border="0">'; for (var i = 0; i<menu.pages.length; i++) { html += '<tr class="menuPunkt"><td width="5"></td><td onclick="pageName(this)">'+ menu.pages[i] +'</td><td width="5"></td></tr>'; } // menu is a global object containing elements such as an array with // all the pages that needs to be shown and styling for the menu. html += '</table>'; document.getElementById("menu").innerHTML = html; style.setMenu(); // The menu is being positioned and styled. } Now, when I click on a menu item the pageName function is triggered and I'm sending the HTML element to the function as well, it is here that I want the content from my external file to be loaded into a local variable and used to display content on the page. ** The answer I want is "How to load the external obj into the function where I need it? (It may be an external file, but only in the term of not being included in the head section. I'm still loading the the file from my own local library.** function pageName(elm) // The element that I clicked is elm. { var page = info.innerHTML; // I need only the innerHTML from the element. var file = 'sites/' + page + '.js'; // The file to be loaded is created. var obj = ?? // Here I somehow want the object from the external file to be loaded. // Before doing stuff the the obj. style.content(); } The content from the external file could look like this: // The src for the external page: 'sites/page.js' var obj = new Object() { obj.innerHTML = 'Text to be shown'; obj.style = 'Not important for problem at hand'; obj.otherStuff = ' --||-- '; } Any help will be appreciated, Molle

  • Dynamic content doesn't work when loaded with ajax

    - by Wurlitzer
    I'm trying to load some dynamic content after the user has logged in, using $.ajax, like so: $.ajax({ url: "functions.php", type: "GET", data: login_info, datatype: 'html', async: false, success: function (response) { $('#main').html(response); } }); The problem is, that some events don't work, when loaded this way. I fixed the buttons with the .live() method, but a sortable list for example, doesn't work. How can I somehow refresh the DOM, and let jquery know of these new added elements? Thanks!

What i need to do is apply cross-browser blur above this image on only a portion of the left hand side. So it gives the appearance of a blur on the image. • It is only uploading first row's file input

    - by user1304328
    I have a application which you can access here. If you open the application please click on the "Add" button a couple of times. This will add a new row into a table below. In each table row there is an AJAX file uploader. Now the problem is that if I click on the "Upload" button in any row except the first row, then the uploading only happens in the first row so it is only uploading the first file input only. Why is it doing this and how can I get it so that when then the user clicks the "Upload" button, the file input within that row of the "Upload" button is uploaded and not the first row being uploaded? Below is the full code where it appends the file AJAX file uploaded in each table row: function insertQuestion(form) { var $tbody = $('#qandatbl > tbody'); var $tr = $("<tr class='optionAndAnswer' align='center'></tr>"); var $image = $("<td class='image'></td>"); var $fileImage = $("<form action='upload.php' method='post' enctype='multipart/form-data' target='upload_target' onsubmit='startUpload();' >" + "<p id='f1_upload_process' align='center'>Loading...<br/><img src='Images/loader.gif' /><br/></p><p id='f1_upload_form' align='center'><br/><label>" + "File: <input name='fileImage' type='file' class='fileImage' /></label><br/><label><input type='submit' name='submitBtn' class='sbtn' value='Upload' /></label>" + "</p> <iframe id='upload_target' name='upload_target' src='#' style='width:0;height:0;border:0px solid #fff;'></iframe></form>"); $image.append($fileImage); $tr.append($image); $tbody.append($tr); } function startUpload(){ document.getElementById('f1_upload_process').style.visibility = 'visible'; document.getElementById('f1_upload_form').style.visibility = 'hidden'; return true; } function stopUpload(success){ var result = ''; if (success == 1){ result = '<span class="msg">The file was uploaded successfully!<\/span><br/><br/>'; } else { result = '<span class="emsg">There was an error during file upload!<\/span><br/><br/>'; } document.getElementById('f1_upload_process').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('f1_upload_form').innerHTML = result + '<label>File: <input name="fileImage" type="file"/><\/label><label><input type="submit" name="submitBtn" class="sbtn" value="Upload" /><\/label>'; document.getElementById('f1_upload_form').style.visibility = 'visible'; return true; }

  • Google Maps API v3 - infoWindows all have same content

    - by paulriedel
    Hello, I've been having problems with the infoWindows and Google Maps API v3. Initially, I've ran into the problem that everyone else has of closing infoWindows when opening a new one. I thought to have solved the problem by defining "infowindow" beforehand. Now they close when I click on a new marker, but the content is the same. How should I re-structure my code to make sure the content is the right one each time - and only one infoWindow is open at a given time? Thank you! Paul var allLatLngs = new Array(); var last = 0; var infowindow; function displayResults(start, count){ if(start === undefined){ start = last; } if(count === undefined){ count = 20; } jQuery.each(jsresults, function(index, value) { if(index >= start && index < start+count){ var obj = jQuery.parseJSON(value); $("#textresults").append(index + ": <strong>" + obj.name + "</strong> " + Math.round(obj.distanz*100)/100 + " km entfernt" + "<br/>"); var myLatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(obj.geo_lat, obj.geo_lon); allLatLngs.push(myLatlng); var contentString = '<strong>'+obj.name+'</strong>'; infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: contentString }); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: myLatlng, //title:"Hello World!" }); marker.setMap(map); google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { if (infowindow) { infowindow.close(map,marker); } infowindow.open(map,marker); }); } }); last = start+count;

  • Simple Modal with Autocomplete in ASP.NET

    - by DanielJaymes
    Hello, I am quite new to this so any help is very much appreciated. I am generating a modal pop using Simple Modal, this works ok. I now want to add jquery autocomplete to the element txtEmail. When I run the page outside of Simple Modal I can use Autocomplete, however when the page is loaded through Simple Modal it does not work. I have checked to ensure the element is loaded, and it is allowing me to change the text color, but I can not add autocomplete to it. The code is /** * @author Daniel */ jQuery(function($) { $("input.ema, a.ema").click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); $("#osx-modal-content").modal({ appendTo: 'form', overlayId: 'osx-overlay', containerId: 'osx-container', closeHTML: '<div class="close"><a href="#" class="simplemodal-close">X</a></div>', minHeight: 80, opacity: 65, position: ['0', ], overlayClose: true, onOpen: OSX.open, onClose: OSX.close, onShow: OSX.show }); }); var OSX = { container: null, open: function(d) { var self = this; $.ajax({ url: "/Message/UserMessage/", type: 'GET', dataType: 'html', // <-- to expect an html response success: function(result) { var data = "Core Selectors Attributes Traversing Manipulation CSS Events Effects Ajax Utilities".split(" "); $('div#osx-modal-data').html(result).find("#txtEmail").css('color', '#c00'); if ($('div#osx-modal-data').find("#txtEmail").length) { // implies *not* zero $('div#osx-modal-data').find("#txtEmail").autocomplete(data); alert('We found img elements on the page using "img"'); } else { alert('No txtEmail elements found'); } } }); self.container = d.container[0]; d.overlay.fadeIn('slow', function() { $("#osx-modal-content", self.container).show(); $('div#osx-modal-title').html("Send Email"); var title = $("#osx-modal-title", self.container); title.show(); d.container.slideDown('slow', function() { setTimeout(function() { var h = $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).height() + title.height() + 20; // padding d.container.animate({ height: h }, 200, function() { $("div.close", self.container).show(); $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).show(); }); }, 300); }); }) }, close: function(d) { var self = this; d.container.animate({ top: "-" + (d.container.height() + 20) }, 500, function() { self.close(); // or $.modal.close(); }); }, show: function(d) { // $('div#osx-modal-data').find("#txtEmail").css('color', '#ccc') } }; });
