What's the main point behind putting variables and method signatures inside ApplicationDelegate.h in Objective-C ? By doing this, all those methods and variables are seen by another view controller classes? Is that the point?
And also: is there only one application delegate class inside each project?
I have a closed source Java application for which vendor has provided APIs for customization. As I have no other documents, i rely completely on the API's javadoc.
I want to trace what methods are actually called in different classes for a particular use case. Is there any way to do that with eclipse?

Hi guys,
I am here to write a small database application that will be running in desktop (offline mode).
I am using MSAccess 2007 as my database file and trying to write code in vb.net.
I used to write the code vb6 an usually had global variables for storing database connection and executing every query from that.
I am trying to upgrade myself from vb6 to vb.net.
do i need to read some more simple starter books also?
i have a properties file (under rsources folder) in which i'm stocking a variable (key=value),
i need to update it when a user insert a new value or update the older one , so can i do it ?
i have doubts because it's a web application so it' simply a war deployed in the server so how it is possible to access the .properties file and change it directly from the code .
if it's not possible is there another solution ?
Any Help will be apprecited
Many thanks

I was wondering if somebody use syslog to log his web application errors/warning/info ? It could be quite useful in a deployment environment with a lot of servers.
If yes, what kind of client visualisation you can get to watch errors and grouping the same errors into batch?
Do you use other techniques than syslog to achieve this kind of logging functionality?
I've just finished a functional peace of code and would like to upload it to the internet as freeware. It is just a window form application.

How is it posible to load python script as plugin in qt based application?
The basic idea would be to make a class in c++
class b
{
virtual void method1();
virtual void method2();
}
and 'somehow' inherit it in python like
class c(b):
def method1:
#do something
def method2:
#do something
I need to be able to modify the gui from python( add buttons to some widgets made in c++ with qt ). Basicaly something similiar to (gedit, blender, etc) plugin architecture with qt
Is there a simple way to load test an asp.net application? I've been reading on some microsoft pattern and practices documents that tell you to use ACT which seems kind of hard to use for complex requests.

I'm designing a web application.
I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user.
Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database.
Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.
I am saving Images in NSCachesDirectory in a App. At the end of app execution i would like to clear all temporary cache. Is there a way to force clear all cache on application exit. I do realise the local folder keeps cache for 3 days..but my requirement is to force clear the Cache. Thx
I'm using global constants, like this:
/project
/application
bootstrap.php
/public
index.php
index.php
defines PUBLIC_PATH and APPLICATION_PATH
calls APPLICATION_PATH . bootstrap.php
bootstrap.php
defines LIBRARY_PATH, MODULES_PATH, TEMP_PATH, CONFIG_PATH, ...
does real work
Also i want to ask if there is better way to do this?

In other words, is it possible during a call to allow the user to open a certain application? (for example, to provide information based on the person who is calling).
If not, will something like this be available on iOS 4?
Not completely a programming question, but its close enough so here goes:
In Mac OS I'll put user-specific files for my app in ~/Library/Application Data/{MyApp}/ and in *nix I'll put them in ~/.{MyApp}/ - where should I put them for Windows?
I'll be using Ruby's File.expand_path to get to this directory, so if there's a windows equivalent of ~ then that's fine.
(Answers for Windows XP, Vista and 7 would be appreciated if they're not the same)
