• Is There A Central Repository of Javascript Information?

  For example, if you want information of PHP functions, you can go to http://www.php.net/ . If you want information of Perl functions you can to to http://www.cpan.org/ and/or use perldoc. If you want information on Java you can go to http://java.sun.com and/or use javadoc. However, if you want information on Javascript methods/functions and their attributes, return values, etc. where do you go? The reason I ask is I was playing with the "focus()" method and wondering if it could be passed any values or if it returned anything when called. I have done a cursory Google search but haven't found much. Does such a beast exist or am I out of luck? Thanks for reading, and have a good day.

• Facebook application redirect on different URL's

  Hi, I have made a facebook application for generating access_token. It's working fine except one problem with it's redirect url. Have set redirect Url : www.mysite.com/myfolder/ in my FB application. So it will work for all folders/files inside www.mysite.com/myfolder/ but I am having problem I want to use these urls for redirect: http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/index.php?mod=config&do=useradd http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/index.php?mod=config&do=useredit and it always redirecting me on: http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/index.php?mod=config which is wrong . Please help to resolve this issue.

• Ways not to write function headers twice?

  Hi, I've got a C/C++ question, can I reuse functions across different object files or projects without writing the function headers twice? (one for defining the function and one for declaring it) I don't know much about C/C++, Delphi and D. I assume that in Delphi or D, you would just write once what arguments a function takes and then you can use the function across diferent projects. And in C you need the function declaration in header files *again??, right?. Is there a good tool that will create header files from C sources? I've got one, but it's not preprocessor-aware and not very strict. And I've had some macro technique that worked rather bad. • .NET Web Service Proxy is adding special characters in XML

  My web service proxy seems to be adding special characters like "*" and "#" etc. within the xml nodes. My proxy created lists using arrays of objects. I am trying to create a generic list and then doing list.ToArray() to set the proxy MyProxyObject[] object. Is this the cause of the problem I am having? I plan on running fiddler on the request later but it is over SSL and I do not have access to the URL at the moment.   I have a WCF Service hosted w/n IIS that has the following host header: WcfService.xxx.com. I'm able to successfully browse via IE to my service with the address subdomain.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc. I'm trying to consume the WCF Service via a ASP.NET Web application that has the following host header subdomain2.xxx.com. I've added the service reference correctly in the web.config to /WcfService.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc, but get the error(s): "The remote name could not be resolved: 'WcfService.xxx.com'" "There was no endpoint listening at http://WcfService.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action" Any direction/help would be appreciated.

• Automatically CONCATENATE text on data entry

  I am a newbie and need help. I have a table called "Employees". It has 2 fields [number] and [encode]. I want to automatically take whatever number is entered into [number] and store it in [encode] so that it is preceded by the appropriate amount of 0's to always make 12 digits. Example: user enters '123' into [number], '000000000123' is automatically stored in [encode] user enters '123456789' into [number], '000123456789' is automatically stored in [encode] I think i want to write a trigger to accomplish this. I think that would make it happen at the time of data entry. is that right? The main idea is would be something like this: variable1 = LENGTH [number] variable2 = REPEAT (0,12-variable1) variable3 = CONCATENATE (variable2, [number]) [encode] = variable3 I just don't know enough to make this happen ANY help would be FANTASTIC. • Htaccess strange behaviour with Nginx

  I have a site running on Nginx (v1.0.14) serving as reverse proxy which proxies requests to Apache (v2.2.19). So Nginx runs on port 80, Apache is on 8080. Overall site works fine except that i cannot block access to certain directories with .htaccess file. For example i have 'my-protected-directory' on 'www.site.com' Inside it i have htaccess with following code: <Files *> order deny,allow deny from all allow from 1.2.3.4 <--- my ip address here </Files> When i try to access this page with my ip (1.2.3.4) i get 404 error which is not what i expect: http://www.site.com/my-protected-directory However everything works as expected when this page is served directly by Apache.   I found this site to compare CPU's. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html What wasn't clear is how the benchmark for multiple core processors is calculated. If one CPU has 4 cores (such as Intel Core i7 which comes in 2, 4, and 6 core versions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_i7#Core_i7), does that mean that the benchmark should be double that of the version that has 2 cores (assuming the same clock frequency)?

  What is the quickest way to come up to speed on OpenGL ES 1.x? Let's assume I know nothing about OpenGL (which is not entirely true, but it's been a while since I last used OpenGL). I am most interested in learning this for iPhone-related development, but I'm interested in learning how it works on other platforms as well. I've found the book OpenGL ES 2.0 Programming Guide, but I am concerned that it might not be the best approach because it focuses on 2.0 rather than 1.x. My understanding is that 2.0 is not backwards-compatible with 1.x, so I may miss out on some important concepts.   I've been given a big chunk of code which eventually calls upon the SetDocsMetaInfo method from Frontpage Server Extension RPC. This is easy enough for most document uploading and property updating, except when dealing with multichoice fields. I've been scouring through MSDN and I can't find anything on how to fill in multiple values for such a field. The general syntax for properties is something like this: [SR|default], with the type (string in this case) followed by a pipe and then the value to be written. • Can we add new attribute or change type of existing attribute to a "Referenced Element"?

  In my XML schema I have an element being referenced tens of times by other elements but with different enumerated values for one of its attribute. For now, instead of creating this element in global space and referencing it later, I am creating a new instance wherever it is needed. This approach has increased my schema size enormously because of repeated creation of almost same element many times. It also may have adverse effect on efficiency of the schema. The only way that I see is to create element once and then reference it many times but my problem is: one of the attribute of this referenced element is required to have a different set of enumerations for each referencing element. My question is: Is it possible to to add an attribute to a "Referenced Element" in XML Schema? • I can't change a value, for a web service using an axiom client!

  Hi.I just started learning about web serices. I succesfuly installed Tomcat, and deployed axis2 on it. I followed the tutorial from here http://ws.apache.org/axis2/1_1_1/quickstartguide.html . I made the StockQuoteService web service, moved the .aar file in the WEB-INF/services folder and tested it - it worked all fine. Then I made a client for the servce. I took the source code of the file AXIOMClient.java from the dir described here http://ws.apache.org/axis2/1_1_1/quickstartguide.html#clientaxiom , imported the classes in Eclipse Java IDE and runned it. I tested and the update method works from the browser when calling http://localhost:8080/axis2/services/StockQuoteService/update?symbol=WSO&price=144 But from my java client update method is not working at all, when calling getPrice I always receive 42.00. What am I doing wrong? or, how can I trace what is happening?

• Servlet 3 spec and ThreadLocal

  As far as I know, Servlet 3 spec introduces asynchronous processing feature. Among other things, this will mean that the same thread can and will be reused for processing another, concurrent, HTTP request(s). This isn't revolutionary, at least for people who worked with NIO before. Anyway, this leads to another important thing: no ThreadLocal variables as a temporary storage for the request data. Because if the same thread suddenly becomes the carrier thread to a different HTTP request, request-local data will be exposed to another request. All of that is my pure speculation based on reading articles, I haven't got time to play with any Servlet 3 implementations (Tomcat 7, GlassFish 3.0.X, etc.). So, the questions: Am I correct to assume that ThreadLocal will cease to be a convenient hack to keep the request data? Has anybody played with any of Servlet 3 implementations and tried using ThreadLocals to prove the above? Apart from storing data inside HTTP Session, are there any other similar easy-to-reach hacks you could possibly advise?
