  • JDO Exception in google app engine transaction

    - by Mariselvam
    I am getting the following exception while trying to use transation in app engine datastore. javax.jdo.JDOUserException: Transaction is still active. You should always close your transactions correctly using commit() or rollback(). FailedObject:org.datanucleus.store.appengine.jdo.DatastoreJDOPersistenceManager@12bbe6b at org.datanucleus.jdo.JDOPersistenceManager.close(JDOPersistenceManager.java:277) The following is the code snippet I used : List<String> friendIds = getFriends(userId); Date currentDate = new Date(); PersistenceManager manager = pmfInstance.getPersistenceManager(); try { Transaction trans = manager.currentTransaction(); trans.begin(); for(String friendId : friendIds) { User user = manager.getObjectById(User.class, friendId); if(user != null) { user.setRecoCount(user.getRecoCount() + 1); user.setUpdatedDate(currentDate); manager.makePersistent(user); } } trans.commit(); } finally { manager.close(); }

  • How to launch a Windows process as 64-bit from 32-bit code?

    - by Jonas
    To pop up the UAC dialog in Vista when writing to the HKLM registry hive, we opt to not use the Win32 Registry API, as when Vista permissions are lacking, we'd need to relaunch our entire application with administrator rights. Instead, we do this trick: ShellExecute(hWnd, "runas" /* display UAC prompt on Vista */, windir + "\\Reg", "add HKLM\\Software\\Company\\KeyName /v valueName /t REG_MULTI_TZ /d ValueData", NULL, SW_HIDE); This solution works fine, besides that our application is a 32-bit one, and it runs the REG.EXE command as it would be a 32-bit app using the WOW compatibility layer! :( If REG.EXE is ran from the command line, it's properly ran in 64-bit mode. This matters, because if it's ran as a 32-bit app, the registry keys will end up in the wrong place due to registry reflection. So is there any way to launch a 64-bit app programmatically from a 32-bit app and not have it run using the WOW64 subsystem like its parent 32-bit process (i.e. a "*" suffix in the Task Manager)?

  • starting .net application from command prompt is having issue when path is in SHORTNAME

    - by ioWint
    when we start our .net application using a double click on the explorer or from command prompt where your folder path is proper full name then there is no issue at all. But when you start it from command prompt with the path being a Shortname involving a ~ the application behaves weird. IF is entering condition though the condition evaluates to FALSE in quick watch. Accessing a value of a variable in quick watch and immediate window shows value. but when you use it to assign to another variable in code, it returns NULL / no value. another observation: when you attach Visual studio to debug the app, and when you go about "Set as next statement" visual studio is giving options to select which dll to work up on. i have never seen this prompt before!

  • how do you get the response back into the instance of the object?

    - by randomdev
    If you've written a class in JavaScript that calls a remote service's API, and that remote API offers a callback, how do you get the response back into the instance of the object that made the request? I'll try to give you a very basic example FOO for making cross domain calls to BAR service which offers a callback. Please ignore the usual security concerns, (I own both servers). function FOO() { this.response = null; this.execute = function(url) { var script = document.createElement('script'); script.src = url; document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script); } this.catch = function(response) { this.response = response; } } var sample = new FOO(); sample.execute('http://barservices.com/sample/?callback={ plshelphere: this.catch}'); I have a way to make this work, but I'm curious if there is an "accepted approach" here. Anyone have thoughts for me?

  • parsing xml attribute value

    - by vbNewbie
    I have been parsing xml content using the xmlreader and cannot use the xml document but so far it works getting all elementcontent except for the attribute contents. I need to parse the link below found in the following entry; <title>XXXX UUUUUU posted a</title> <category term="NotePosted" label="Note Posted"/> <link rel="alternate" type="html" href="http://www.dfsddsfdsf.com/profile.php?id=sdfdfsfdsdfddfsfd&amp;v=wall&amp;story_dbid=dssdfasdfdasfdsafafafa"/> <source>......... <source> I need the href tag in the link attribute but it keeps coming back null. While ureader.Read If ureader.HasAttributes Then fId = ureader.GetAttribute("href") If fId.Contains("?v=wall&amp") Then fIdList.Add(fId) Exit While End If If String.IsNullOrEmpty(fId) Then fId = "NOTHING" End If End If End While

  • How do I build a DataTemplate in c# code?

    - by Russ
    I am trying to build a dropdown list for a winform interop, and I am building the dropdown in code. However, I am having a problem getting the data to bind based on the DataTemplate I specify. What am I missing? drpCreditCardNumberWpf = new ComboBox(); DataTemplate cardLayout = new DataTemplate {DataType = typeof (CreditCardPayment)}; StackPanel sp = new StackPanel { Orientation = System.Windows.Controls.Orientation.Vertical }; TextBlock cardHolder = new TextBlock {ToolTip = "Card Holder Name"}; cardHolder.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, "BillToName"); sp.Children.Add(cardHolder); TextBlock cardNumber = new TextBlock {ToolTip = "Credit Card Number"}; cardNumber.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, "SafeNumber"); sp.Children.Add(cardNumber); TextBlock notes = new TextBlock {ToolTip = "Notes"}; notes.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, "Notes"); sp.Children.Add(notes); cardLayout.Resources.Add(sp, null); drpCreditCardNumberWpf.ItemTemplate = cardLayout;

  • Performance issues in android game

    - by user1446632
    I am making an android game, but however, the game is functioning like it should, but i am experiencing some performance issues. I think it has something to do with the sound. Cause each time i touch the screen, it makes a sound. I am using the standard MediaPlayer. The method is onTouchEvent() and onPlaySound1(). Could you please help me with an alternate solution for playing the sound? Thank you so much in advance! It would be nice if you also came up with some suggestions on how i can improve my code. For test purposes i created a button and text block: It's in other controls part (above list box, but in FlipView) <Button Click="spr" >Sprawdz</Button> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Answers[0].IsSelected, Mode=TwoWay}" > </TextBlock> Click method private void spr(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { var ans = ((PrawoJazdyDataQuestion)this.flipView.SelectedItem).Answers; foreach (var item in ans) item.IsSelected = item.IsSelected ? false : true; } As I wrote when i'm changing data from code side its change text, but not appearance of ListBoxItem, and if i just select it on ListBox its doesn't change the date i textblock neither in ListBox itself.

  • HttpsURLConnection failing intermittently to the same URL

    - by Arkaitz Jimenez
    I think I'm experiencing the same as http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/msg/9d37d64aad0ee357 This is Android 1.5 SDK. I happen to call several times below code(which is in a method) with the same url and it fails intermittently. When it fails, there is no exception, the stream is empty so the readConnection fails, and getResponseCode returns -1. Global caching is disabled, setDefaultUseCaches(false); I suppose there must be some kind of url connection object pool somewhere. Any idea on how can I workaround this? HttpURLConnection connection = null; try { URL url = new URL(this.url); connection = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection(); connection.setRequestProperty("Authorization", "basic " + Base64Coder.encodeString(user + ":" + password)); connection.setRequestProperty("User-Agent", userAgent); connection.connect(); readConnection(connection.getInputStream()); connection.disconnect(); } catch (IOException ex) { reportException(ex, connection.getResponseCode()) } catch (ParserException ex) { reportException(ex, connection.getResponseCode()) }

  • NSMutableArray in appdelegate - EXEC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by Tejaswi Yerukalapudi
    Hi, I'm trying to use a global array in the appdelegate as a quick fix for a demo I'm building. The relevant code for this .h file has the declaration { NSMutableArray *trnEntered; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *trnEntered .m file has the following code - trnEntered = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; NSLog(@"%@",[trnEntered count]); // prints null. [trnEntered addObject:@"1"]; NSLog(@"%@",[trnEntered count]); // exec bad access. Not sure where I'm going wrong here. Looks fairly straight forward. Thanks for the help in advance, Teja.

  • NHibernate: Can I access a generated primary key after saving a model?

    - by littlecharva
    Howdy, So I've got a simple table with an ID field that's incrementally generated on INSERT. I've set the mapping up in NHibernate to reflect this: <id name="ID"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> And it all works fine. Trouble is, I need to get the generated ID after I've saved a new model to use elsewhere: var model = new MyModel(); session.SaveOrUpdate(model); But at this stage model.ID == null, not the ID. Any ideas? Anthony

  • A Better way? Finding ASP.NET controls, finding their id

    - by CSharp
    I have a method that finds all the controls, iterates through them, determines if they are a textbox,drop down list, etc.. retrieves their ID name, and depending on the ID name it will set a boolean statement (thus I would know if that section of the form is complete, and will email to a certain group of people) unfortunetly this is done with too many if statements and was wondering if I could get some help making this more manageable protected void getEmailGroup() { Control[] allControls = FlattenHierachy(Page); foreach (Control control in allControls) { if (control.ID != null) { if (control is TextBox) { TextBox txt = control as TextBox; if (txt.Text != "") { if (control.ID.StartsWith("GenInfo_")) { GenInfo = true; } if (control.ID.StartsWith("EmpInfo_")) { EmpInfo = true; } } } if (control is DropDownList) { DropDownList lb = control as DropDownList; if (lb.SelectedIndex != -1) { if (control.ID.StartsWith("GenInfo_")) { GenInfo = true; } if (control.ID.StartsWith("EmpInfo_")) { EmpInfo = true; } } } } } }

  • Operator Overloading for Queue C++

    - by Josh
    I was trying to use the overload operator method to copy the entries of one queue into another, but I am going wrong with my function. I don't know how else to access the values of the queue "original" any other way than what I have below: struct Node { int item; Node* next; }; class Queue { public: [...] //Extra code here void operator = (const Queue &original); protected: Node *front, *end; } void Queue::operator=(const Queue &original) { //THIS IS WHERE IM GOING WRONG while(original.front->next != NULL) { front->item = original.front->item; front->next = new Node; front = front->next; original.front = original.front->next; } }

  • Refactoring common method header and footer

    - by David Wong
    I have the following chunk of header and footer code appearing in alot of methods. Is there a cleaner way of implementing this? Session sess = factory.openSession(); Transaction tx; try { tx = sess.beginTransaction(); //do some work ... tx.commit(); } catch (Exception e) { if (tx!=null) tx.rollback(); throw e; } finally { sess.close(); } The class in question is actually an EJB 2.0 SessionBean which looks like: public class PersonManagerBean implements SessionBean { public void addPerson(String name) { // boilerplate // dostuff // boilerplate } public void deletePerson(Long id) { // boilerplate // dostuff // boilerplate } }

  • Foreign key on table A --> B, AND foreign key on table B --> A. How is this done?

    - by unclaimedbaggage
    Hi, I have two tables - 'business' and 'business_contacts'. The business_contact table has a many-to-one relationship with the business table. Furthermore, each business has a 'primary contact' field - which I'd assume is a one-to-many relationship with the business_contacts table. The problem, of course, is that this creates a catch-22 for data insertion. Since neither field can be null, I can't insert a business_contact until I have a corresponding business, but I can't insert a business until I have a corresponding business_contact. If anyone could help me get my head around how mutual one-to-many relationships are supposed to be dealt with I'd be most appreciative. (Project being done in MySQL if it makes any difference)

  • How to get parameters out of an ascx back to the main aspx page

    - by Hallaghan
    I've got an aspx page that renders an ascx page with filtering capabilities. Inside the ascx page, parameters are passed as follows: <tr> <td class="label">Plataforma</td> <td class="field lookup"><%= Html.Lookup("s.Site", null, Url, "Sites") %></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="label">Data</td> <td class="field date"><%= Html.TextBox("s.Date", DateTime.Today.ToString("yyyy-MM-dd")) %></td> </tr> I need to be able to get those parameters on the main aspx page, because they are needed for an action that is called there. How could I access these parameters?

  • Convince teammates to follow standards

    - by folone
    There's always one or two guys, who think, they are great programmers, and they don't need any literature/specifications/etc. They usually write awful code, that makes you want to hurt them. They catch and suppress Throwable's, return null's, concatenate String's in large loops, do other stupid stuff. So the question is — How do I make such a person follow best practices and specifications? He does not listen (cause he's the best programmer), team lead does not give a damn ("It actually works, so why changing it?.."), and I'm actually tired of rewriting that awful code on my own. What do I do? What would you do?

  • YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest does not work in Safari

    - by 24x7Programmer
    When I request a webpage using YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest in Safari I always get Communication Failure message in callback's failure properties statusText. The same method works in IE. What could be wrong here? Here is the code. When the code is executed I always get two alerts: "Three" and "communications failure undefined" (corresponding to the second alert in the failure part below.) Also when I attach the debugger and put break point in the SAProvision.aspx's page load event, the break point is not hit. So it is sure that in safari the page is not being called. While the same is called when executed from IE. function ProvisionBlade() { var path = "http://localhost/SC/Dashboard/SAProvision.aspx" YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest("POST", path, callbacks1, null); } var callbacks1 = { success: function(o) { var check = "test"; alert(o.responseText); }, failure: function(o) { alert("Three"); alert(o.statusText + ' ' + o.responseText); } }

  • iPhone, special characters in JSON Response

    - by eddit
    Writing an iphone app, and I'm getting my data from a REST API that returns JSON. My problem is, some of the data has special characters embedded and Im getting errors. Example: MartÌn Petite-RiviËre-Saint-FranÁois Here is my current code: NSString *jsonString = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:receivedData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSMutableArray *tempResults = [[[jsonString JSONValue] objectForKey:@"getRegionResortsLastUpdatedResponse"] objectForKey:@"return"]; Whenever the data has special characters in it "jsonString" return "(null)", otherwise everything works fine. Is this something I can handle on my end, or does the API need to be modified to output the character codes?
