    From today, when I tried to run an app in NetBeans on a 2.3.3 Android platform, it shows me that: Failed to allocate memory: 8 This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. and the Emulator doesn't want to start. This is for the first time when I see it, and google has no asnwers for this, I tried even with 2 versions of NetBeans 6.9.1 and 7.0.1, still the same error.

    I'm running a cron job (every 15 minutes) which takes about a minute to execute. It makes lots of API calls and stores data to the database. Right now I create a mysql connection at the beginning and use the same connection through out the code. Most of the time is spent making the API calls. Will it be more efficient to create a new database connection only when it's time to store the data (below)? This works fine but it's a nightmare when it comes to searching. Is there a better way to approach this?

I understand how to store user-genereated data into the db using form_for, but I'm struggling to create a random number and put it in the db. @hand = rand(9) + 2 I have "hand" as a field in my db, just curious how to store this random number.     This is a bit of a naive / simple question. I'm having a hard time finding this info online. Basically, does rspec run rake db:test:prepare between every rspec group? Or is it between every example or model? Or does the schema get loaded once and then truncated between each. I need to add a rake task directly after this call to create a view since they are not supported in schema.rb. Either a link or explanation would be greatly appreciated so that I know where to insert my rake task to create a view. Or whether there is a callback like rake db:test:after_prepare thx

  • c# creating a database query METHOD

    I'm not sure if im delluded but what I would like to do is create a method that will return the results of a query, so that i can reuse the connection code. As i understand it, a query returns an object but how do i pass that object back? I want to send the query into the method as a string argument, and have it return the results so that I can use them. Here's what i have which was a stab in the dark, it obviously doesn't work. This example is me trying to populate a listbox with the results of a query; the sheet name is Employees and the field/column is name. I am not getting any errors while doing inserts yet no data is actually going into my DB. My DB is a SDF file (SQL CE). Any ideas what to check?   • DB2 increase bufferpool size and compressed tables not equal better performance. Why?

    Hi, I’m working on tuning and increasing the performance of my IBM DB2 version 9.7 database. I’ve been searching around the net for the last couple of days and learned that if I created my tables in COMPRESS mode and created one more bufferpool and set both of them to access 1024mb, then the performance in my queries should increase because of the less I/Os to the disks. However, when I run my time analysis, the performance Decrease. I added the new additions to my regular database with the indexes I’ve used all the time. Each time I search google I come up with the statement that: Increased bufferpool size and several bufferpools AND a table compression SHOULD prove to get better performance. I’m very puzzled about the total unexpected result. Are there some tuning mechanisms I’ve forgot or does anyone have a explanation for this odd behavior? Sincerely Mestika

    I have several locations in tables in a mysql database which i want to have displayed as POI's, the table is too large and changes too frequently to use sql lite so i need to get the info from mysql. I have set up a mapView indicating the device location in mapview using an image at drawable, but i now need to ad the other locations from the database. Then when a user clicks on an item i need a popup with options to route there using google maps navigation, or view mobi site, phone, or email. I am new to android. Please assist. Have gone through the overlay tut but no indication on how to get the info from db. Is there a tut somwhere so i can see some example code to do this?
