• Permission problem - users can't access main index.php anymore

  From /var/www, I executed "chmod -R 774 ." and now none of my .php scripts are accessible. From my browser, when I type in mydomain.com or mydomain.com/test2.php or mydomain.com/test.php, I get the 403 Forbidden error msg. So, I changed the permissions of 3 of the .php scripts to 775, but this didn't help either. Here is the output from "ls -la /var/www": drwxrwxr-- 6 john wheel 4096 2010-09-29 17:38 . drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 4096 2010-09-27 21:15 .. -rwxrwxr-x 1 john wheel 3353 2010-09-29 05:29 index.php -rwxrwxr-x 1 john wheel 124 2010-09-27 23:12 .htaccess -rwxrwxr-x 1 john john 34 2010-09-29 17:39 test2.php -rwxrwxr-x 1 john john 26 2010-09-28 22:08 test.php The .htaccess file does a URL mod_rewrite so typing in index.php is not needed. • Windows Firewall: How to allow traffic on port 8080?

  I am trying to configure team Foundation Server so that 1) it is accessible from within my Home Network 2) and then make the Web site access accessible via the Internet I have a problem with point 1: When I access http://192.168.1.106:8080/tfs/web/ locally from 192.168.1.106, it works. When I access the same web site from another PC in my home network, the abive URL works only if I turn of the Firewall on 192.168.1.106. Can someone please tell me specifically how to allow traffic on port 8080 without turning off Windows Firewall? It seems that the exceptions that I specify are intended for listing programs on the box that need to communicate out. Is IIS the program that I need to make the exception? How do I specify that port 8080 traffic should be allowed for web site traffic on this port? I hope to have success with pt. 2 later but I figure (1) should be done first. I expect issues.

• TFS2010 - Correctly setting up Host Header

  We have a TFS2010 install on a Win2008R2 Server running IIS7. I've created a host header for TFS and want to use that instead of machineName:8080. I am getting weird behavior from it now. Every other time I log in I get: TF31002: Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server: http://web2/tfs. Team Foundation Server Url: http://web2/tfs. Possible reasons for failure include: - The name, port number, or protocol for the Team Foundation Server is incorrect. - The Team Foundation Server is offline. - The password has expired or is incorrect. Technical information (for administrator): The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found. I force a reconnect and voila - there it is. Also, connecting to the web site rarely works but connecting via VS2010 works 50% of the time. What do i need to change to stabilize this?

• Form Validation Options

  The steps involved in transmitting form data from the client to the Web server User loads web form. User enters data in to web form fields User clicks submit On submit page validates fields using JavaScript. If validation errors are found then the validation script stops the browser from canceling posting the data to the web server and displays error messages as needed. If the form passes the data validation process then the browser will URL encode the values of every field and post it to the server.  The server reads the posted data from the query string and then again validates the data just to ensure data consistency and to prevent any non-validated data because JavaScript was turned off on the clients browser from being inserted in to a database or passed on to other process. If the data passes the second validation check then the server side code will continue with the requested processes. In my opinion, it is mandatory to validate data using client side and server side validation as a fail over process. The client side validation allows users to correct any error before they are sent to the web server for processing, and this allows for an immediate response back to the user regarding data that is not correct or in the proper format that is desired. In addition, this prevents unnecessary interaction between the user and the web server and will free up the server over time compared to doing only server side validation. Server validation is the last line of defense when it comes to validation because you can check to ensure the user’s data is correct before it is used in a business process or stored to a database. Honestly, I cannot foresee a scenario where I would only want to use one form of validation over another especially with the current cost of creating and maintaining data. In my opinion, the redundant validation is well worth the overhead.

  I've been using Freenet6 from gogoNET to make my mobile device publicly accessible via IPv6. It works quite well except that the service is not as stable because it's non-commercial usage only as their servers are hosted for free by different operators around the world. Apparently gogoNET sells hardware called gogoSERVER which allows one to build a service similar to Freenet6. I've inquired their sales team, but they were unable to tell me which companies have a commercial, production-quality implementation of Freenet6. Specifically I'm looking for the following features in IPv6 service provider: Client-based IPv6 connectivity for mobile devices: gogoCLIENT (gw6c) is ideal for mobile devices since it allows a device to go online regardless of the device's location. API for account maintenance: so that we can create device accounts from our software Static IPv6 address: (or maybe I mean IPv4 address) by this I mean, just like gogoNET6 service (username.broker.freenet6.net), we want to provide our users with a permanent URL for their device Any info on commercial IPv6 service provider utilizing gogoSERVER is appreciated. • can't open web pages in google chrome

  When I type in google chrome "google.com" I receive such error: 404. That’s an error. The requested URL /cgi-bin/authme?s=0.2068704296834766 was not found on this server. That’s all we know. It seems I'm redirected somehow by some reason. Probably lenovo notebook problem? At the same time IE works fine. This problem reproducable with other webpages too, for example i'm redirected from vkontakte.ru to such web page which doesn't exist too http://www.vkontakte.ru/cgi-bin/authme?s=0.7140683813486247 Also I see such message when chrome starts "Lütfen yönlendirilirken bekleyin", this is very strange because I only have russian and english languages installed in system.

• VLC - Adding to playlist

  I am using Songr to find/stream songs and double click them to play in VLC which basically "plays" the URL. But as I am listening to one item and search for another and double click another item from the results, it replaces the currently playing item in VLC. How do I set it up such that double clicking adds to the current playlist? When I see now is that it adds the new item to the end of the playlist and proceeds to play it. Any ideas? Thanks

• E-mail message of failed lock not identifying affected Lotus Notes documents

  I have a user who was sent several messages to his Outlook account with the following subject: Changes made to the database xxxx have NOT been incorporated into the database. There was a conflict detected. Your changes may be found in body of this message. A document link to the original document is attached to the end of the message. Unfortunately, besides the link, the body of the email is blank and the link URL is of this form: Notes:///482567CC001B4104. The link seems to be making reference to the database replica ID and clicking on the link opens up the database and not directly to the affected document. I'm finding that the message is not very useful in terms of identifying the affected document. Can anyone advise me on the ways to identify the affected documents or configure the system so that it would identify/link the affected documents?

• How to use mencoder to speed up video ?

  There's a webcam streaming WMV video that I can play/record with mplayer/mencoder (Debian Lenny including Debian-multimedia) just fine. I'd like to capture the video such that, when played back, it's faster (so say 100s of real time zooms past in every 1s of video). The "frameskip" filter seems like it ought to do this, but when I try e.g mencoder -o output.avi -ofps 25 -vf framestep=100 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:... <mms source URL> what I actually get is something which plays for the same length of time as it's allowed to capture for, but which only updates the displayed image every 4 seconds. Is there any way mencoder can be persuaded to do what I want ? (By the way, ideally I'd like to average the frames together to obtain motion-blur instead of just dropping/discarding most of them.).

• Installing List Compenent on Sharepoint Server

  I added the Sharepoint site to the 'Document Management' section in CRM with the List Components checked and it added it with no problem. Also when I navigate to the 'Documents' section under an account it shows up with the format of the List components. However, if i click on 'New' or 'Actions' I get the following error message: An Error has occured in the script on this page. Error: Access is denied URL: https://*serveraddress*/crmgrid/scripts/crmmenu.htc Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? I have ran the power script which added the MIME .htc extention to IIS. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

• SharePoint Server Search Not Crawling

  Hi there, we recently moved some sites into a new farm, everything seems to be doing fine, but the search for reasons I can't identify are not crawling the migrated content. We're getting this message in our crawl log for every document: http://xxx/sites/...announcements The object was not found. (The item was deleted because it was either not found or the crawler was denied access to it.) Of course the first thing I suspected was the crawler access account, so I logged into SharePoint with the account and was able to access via that URL just fine. I tried upping permissions (even all the way up to Admin) but to no avail. Thoughts?

A session is defined as a series of requests issued by the same client within a certain period of time, and is managed by associating a session ID with each unique client. • How can I allow a linux subversion user to only execute svnserve?

  I've got a user that I'd like to only be able to use subversion. We like to use svn+ssh:// URLs sometimes (for public keys and whatnot), so I need them to be able to connect over ssh and run only the svnserve command. When using a svn+ssh URL, svn ssh'es in and passes the arguments "-c svnserve -t". I wrote a custom shell as follows to filter the commands that can be run. This works, but it's not passing the input to svnserve, so when I try to "svn up" I get "svn: Connection closed unexpectedly". #!/bin/bash if [ "$1" == "-c" ] && [ "$2" == "svnserve" ] && [ "$3" == "-t" ] && [ "$4" == ""] ; then exec svnserve -t else echo "Access denied. When I run this: curl --ssl https://www.google.com I get this error: curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate More details here: http://curl.haxx.se/docs/sslcerts.html curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a "bundle" of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). If the default bundle file isn't adequate, you can specify an alternate file using the --cacert option. If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might not match the domain name in the URL). If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use the -k (or --insecure) option.

  I am trying to setup a daily mirror of a mercurial repository - code.python.org in particular - within our local network, and serve that via Apache HTTPD. On the remote host that hosts apache, I did this: $ cd /var/www $ hg clone http://code.python.org/hg/trunk/ On my macbook, I ran: $ hg -v clone http://remote/trunk/ (falling back to static-http) abort: No such file or directory: http://remote/trunk/.hg/store/00manifest.i Google does not show any relevant result for this particular error. I remember back in those days being able to setup Bazaar mirrors by a simple clone. Doesn't Mercurial work like that? How do I setup a mirror that must further act like a clone URL?

• Is there a way to add a custom favicon to an App Tab?

  Since the release of Firefox "5", I've come to really love the new "App Tabs" feature. However, I've now realized that several internal websites at work do not have favicons. So, when I make an App Tab out of these sites, there's only a "blank page" icon in the tab. Perhaps I wouldn't mind so much if there was only one, but there's at least two or three of these. So, it's just a bit annoying to have to mouse-over the App Tabs to figure out which is what. I've tried using Favicon Picker 2 to change the bookmark icons, but it only does exactly that - changes the icon in the bookmarks folder. It doesn't change the favicon that's displayed next to the URL in the Address Bar, or the one next to the page title in tabs - the latter being that which is used for the App Tab icon. So, is there a plugin or other client-side (and preferably "Joe User" friendly) method to assign an icon to a web page or domain, that will be used in the tab bar?

  I've seen several requirements to have a more granular level of task assignment in BPM 11g based on some value in the data passed to the process. Parametric Roles is normally the first port of call to try to satisfy this requirement, but in this blog we will show how a lot of use-cases can be satisfied by the easier to implement and flexible Organization Unit. The Use-Case Task assignment is to an approval group containing several users. At runtime, a location value in the input data determines which of the particular users the task is ultimately assigned to. In this case we use the Demo Community referenced in the SOA Admin Guide, and specifically the "LoanAnalyticGroup" which contains three users; "szweig", "mmitch" & "fkafka". In our scenario we would like to assign a task to "szweig" if the input data specifies that the location is "JapanCentral", to "fkafka" if the location is "JapanNorth" and to "mmitch" if "JapanSouth", and to all of them if the location is "Japan" i.e....   The Process Simple one human task process.... In the output data association of the "Start" activity we need to set the value of the "Organization Unit" predefined variable based on the input data (note that the  predefined variables can only be set on output data associations)....  ...and in the output data association of the human activity we will reset the "Organization Unit" to empty, always good practice to ensure that the Organization Unit will not be used for any subsequent human activities for which we do not require it.... Set Up the Organization Unit  Log in to the BPM Workspace with an administrator user (weblogic/welcome1 in our case) and choose the "Administration" option. Within "Roles" assign the "ProcessOwner" swim-lane for our process to "LoanAnalyticGroup".... Within "Organization Units" we can model our organization.... "Root Organization Unit" as "Japan" and "Child Organization Unit" as "Central", "South" & "North" as shown. As described previously, add user "szweig" to "Central", "mmitch" to "South" and "fkafka" to "North"....   Test the Process Invalid Data  First let us test with invalid data in the input to see what the consequences are, here we use "X" as input.... ...and looking at the instance we can see it has errored.... Organization Unit Root Level Assignment  Now let us see what happens if we have "Japan" in the input data.... ...looking in the "flow trace" we can see that the task has been assigned....  ... but who has the task been assigned to ? Let us look in the BPM Workspace for user "szweig"....  ...and for "mmitch"....  ... and for "fkafka"....  ...so we can see that with an Organization Unit at "Root" level we have successfully assigned the task to all users. Organization Unit Child Level Assignment  Now let us test with "Japan/North" in the input data.... ...and looking in "fkafka" workspace we see the task has been assigned, remember, he was associated with "JapanNorth"....   ... but what about the workspace of "szweig"....  ...no tasks assigned, neither has "mmitch", just as we expected. Summary  We have seen in this blog how to easily implement multi-level dynamic task routing using Organization Units, a common use-case and a simpler solution than Parametric Roles.

• Jenkins shows same information for all projects

  I've been using Jenkins for the last month or so and what started out as a small issue has gotten worse and worse. I have 10 projects in Jenkins, all polling from different Git repos and building to different environments but they all show the same details on the dashboard. I can still build the projects, but I have to manually enter the URL to see any console output etc. I'm running 1.536 under Ubuntu 12.04, there's not much in the logs other than the following; Oct 22, 2013 2:21:19 PM WARNING jenkins.model.lazy.AbstractLazyLoadRunMap search JENKINS-15652 Assertion error #1: failing to load /data/builds #20 EXACT: lo=23,hi=9,size=23,size2=23 – Any ideas?

• OWB 11gR2 &ndash; JDBC Helper Utility

  One of the common queries when importing the tables via JDBC with 11gR2 is determining why the import wizard doesn’t display the tables that you think it should. I often just use the script below to dump out the schemas, tables and columns that the JDBC driver is returning. This is useful in a few areas; to figure out what the schema name is returned to double check with the schema name you have used in the location (this is used in the DatabaseMetaData.getTables API call within the basic JDBC metadata import. to figure out the data types returned from the JDBC driver when you see columns skipped because of no datatype supported messages. also…I can do it via scripting and don’t need to recompile classes and stuff :-) Edit the tcl script and set the JDBC driver, the connection URL and the username and password (they are at the bottom of the script), the script then calls a basic tcl procedure which writes to standard out the schemas, tables and columns with various properties. For example I executed it using the XML JDBC driver from ODI over a simple customers XML file and it writes the following metadata; You can add more details as you need and execute from the OMBPlus panel within OWB. • Removing specific part of filename (what's after the second dash) for all files in a folder

  I use the command line utility youtube-dl to download videos from YouTube and make mp3s from them with avconv. I'm doing this under Ubuntu 14.04 and very happy with it. The utility downloads the files and saves them with the following name scheme: TITLE(artist-track)-ID.mp3 So an actual filename looks like: EPIC RAP BATTLE of MANLINESS-_EzDRpkfaO4.mp3 Some other file names in the folder look like: EPIC RAP BATTLE of MANLINESS-_EzDRpkfaO4.mp3 Martin Garrix - Animals (Official Video)-gCYcHz2k5x0.mp3 Stromae - Papaoutai-oiKj0Z_Xnjc.mp3 At first, this was no problem. It didn't bother me while listening to my music in Rhytmbox. But when moving to phone or other devices it is pretty confusing to see a so long name, and some players, like the Samsung ones, treat that last part (id after second dash) of the name as Album or something. I'd like to create a bash script that removes what's after the second dash in the name for all files, so it'll make them like this: From: Martin Garrix - Animals (Official Video)-gCYcHz2k5x0.mp3 To: Martin Garrix - Animals (Official Video).mp3 Is it also possible to instruct youtube-dl to exclude the ID from now on? I am currently downloading with the command: youtube-dl --extract-audio --audio-quality 0 --audio-format mp3 URL

• Source-control your BI Publisher reports

  Version control systems (VCS) like Subversion, Git and the others has been widely adopted and became the must-have tool in any software development project. Source artifacts and checked out, modified, checked in, all the history of changes is tracked by the VCS.  But what if the development tool stores the source/configuration artifacts not in your laptop's hard drive, but in some shared repository instead? Well, we definitely need a way for export/import our artifacts from/to this repository.   Oracle BI Publisher report development approach is based on such a shared repository model (catalog), and starting from BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 Oracle ships Catalog Utility, which can be utilized to export/import the reports from the command line.  To start using the BI Publisher Catalog Utility you should: Go to the file system of the server where BI Publisher binaries has been installed and locate the following file: <MW_HOME>/Oracle_BI1/clients/bipublisher/BIPCatalogUtil.zip Copy the file to your local filesystem and unzip it. I will refer to this unzipped directory as <BIP_CLIENT_DIR> below If you do not want to pass server BI Publisher server URL, username and password during each invocation, modify the corresponding values inside <BIP_CLIENT_DIR>/config/xmlp-client-config.xml Open the terminal window and go to <BIP_CLIENT_DIR>/bin Make sure that the following environment variables are set: JAVA_HOME, ORACLE_HOME Now it's time to run the utility: if you are on Linux - just run BIPCatalogUtil.sh and pass the parameters according to the utility documentation if you are on MS Windows the bad news are that the command script for MS Windows is missing, and support.oracle.com note 1333726.1 says that a temporary solution is "create a .cmd file by setting up a classpath and copying the same commands from the .sh script". • IIS7 301 permanent redirect from billarga.com.au to billarga.com

  Using IIS7 GUI, I have placed a 301 permanent redirection from billarga.com.au to billarga.com and left the other behaviours unchecked (want relative redirect). As soon as I apply the redirect on the .com.au, the same redirect appears for the .com domain. Why? I don't understand why changing one will do the same to the other. Has it got something to do with both using the same bindings? Each domain uses two bindings, one with www and the other without. My aim is to condense all traffic and google listings to the one domain, but still be able to use the .com.au for appearance purposes in the url (for aussies). Any help with this is appreciated!

• nginx: try_files not finding static files, falling back to PHP

  Relevant configuration: location /myapp { root /home/me/myapp/www; try_files $uri $uri/ /myapp/index.php?url=$uri&$args; location ~ \.php { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root/index.php; } } I absolutely have a file foo.html in /home/me/myapp/www but when I browse to /myapp/foo.html it is handled by PHP, the final fallback in the try_files list. Why is this happening?
