  • Node.js Cron Job Messing with Date Object

    I'm trying to schedule several cron jobs to generate serial numbers for different entities within my web app. However I am running into this problem, when I'm looping each table, it says it has something to do with date.js. I'm not doing anything with a date object ? Not at this stage anyway. A couple of guesses is that the cron object is doing a date thing in its code and is referencing date.js. I.e. it has a bunch of prototypes (extensions) for the inbuilt date object. Within manageSerialNumbers.js I am just doing a callback, their is no code executing as I've commented it all out, but still receiving this error. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

  • Different values for Time.now when using activerecord

    I have this weird situation: When I do on rails console Time.now or Time.zone.now I get the same values (suppose they run at the sime time: 2014-06-05 23:38:06 -0300) But when I use Time.now in a query like: Match.where("datetime = ?", Time.now) it returns the time 3 hours ahead! .to_sql output: SELECT `matches`.* FROM `matches` WHERE (datetime = '2014-06-06 02:38:06') any thoughts on that? For example, from a web application, each user has files they can upload, but how do you limit access so only that user has access to that file? It seems like the query string authentication requires an expiration date and that won't work for me, is there another way to do this?

  • Zend_Paginator / Doctrine 2

    I'm using Doctrine 2 with my Zend Framework application and a typical query result could yield a million (or more) search results. I want to use Zend_Paginator in line with this result set. However, I don't want to return all the results as an array and use the Array adapter as this would be inefficient, instead I would like to supply the paginator the total amount of rows then and array of results based on limit/offset amounts. Is this doable using the Array adapter or would I need to create my own pagination adapter?

If I do not use views, what are the alternatives?     When you query the ALL_TAB_COLS view on Oracle 9i, it lists columns marked as UNUSED as well as the 'active' table columns. There doesn't seem to be a field that explicitly says whether a column is UNUSED, or any view I can join to that lists the unused columns in a table. How can I easily find out which are the unused columns, so I can filter them out of ALL_TAB_COLS?

Given SQLite doesn't have full outer or right joins, I've used the full outer join without right join technique on Wikipedia with much success. But I'm curious, how would one use this technique to join three tables by a common key? What are the efficiency impacts of this (the current query takes about ten minutes)? Thanks!

  • Android: how to get the walking distance between two geo coordinats?

It works with address names tho. I guess I could use google's geocoding to get the addresses first. But I wonder if there is another way to get the walking distance between two coordinates?
