• How can I merge CSS definitions in files into inline style attributes, using Perl?

  Many email clients don't like linked CSS stylesheets, or even the embedded <style> tag, but rather want the CSS to appear inline as style attributes on all your markup. BAD: <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="/style.css"> BAD: <style type="text/css">...</style> WORKS: <h1 style="margin: 0">...</h1> However this inline style attribute approach is a right pain to manage. I've found tools for Ruby and PHP that will take a CSS file and some separate markup as input and return you the merged result - a single file of markup with all the CSS converted to style attributes. I'm looking for a Perl solution to this problem, but I've not found one on CPAN or by searching Google. Any pointers? • Is it possible to make a PHP script run itself every hour or so without the use of a cronjob?

  I'm pretty sure I've seen this done in a php script once, although I cant find the script. It was some script that would automatically check for updates to that script, and then replace itself if there was an update. I don't actually need all that, I just want to be able to make my PHP script automatically run every 30 minutes to an hour, but I'd like to do it without cronjobs, if its possible. Any suggestions? Or is it even possible? EDIT: After reading through a possible duplicate that RC linked to, I'd like to clarify. I'd like to do this completely without using resources outside of the PHP script. AKA no outside cronjobs that send a GET request. I'd also like to do it without keeping the script running constantly and sleeping for 30 minutes

• How much time should it take to find the sum of all prime numbers less than 2 million?

  I was trying to solve this Project Euler Question. I implemented the sieve of euler as a helper class in java. It works pretty well for the small numbers. But when I input 2 million as the limit it doesn't return the answer. I use Netbeans IDE. I waited for a lot many hours once, but it still didn't print the answer. When I stopped running the code, it gave the following result Java Result: 2147483647 BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 2,097 minutes 43 seconds) This answer is incorrect. Even after waiting for so much time, this isn't correct. While the same code returns correct answers for smaller limits. Sieve of euler has a very simple algo given at the botton of this page. • Are there any was to link my program with Wine-compiled part?

  I am trying to use windows dll functionality in Linux. My current solution is a compilation of a separate wine application, that uses dll and transfer requests/responses between dll and main application over IPC. This works, but is a real overhead comparing to a simple dll calls. I see that wine-compiled program usually is a bootstrapping-script and some .so, which (according to file utility) is normal linux dynamically linked library. Are there any way to link that .so directly to my application? Are there any manual?

  Hi, I want to make a dictionary out of list in a way, that the list becomes keys and values would be empty. I have following code Dictionary<XmlTest, int?> testBattery = new XmlTests().GetRandomTestBattery(id). ToDictionary(k => k, v => null); But I am getting the error "Cannot convert lambda expression to type System.Collections.Generic.IEqualityComparer' because it is not a delegate type" Any ideas how could I fix it? (I know I could iterate through and fill the dict one element at a time, but I simply want to use something more elegant)

  In my database I have a Person table and an Event table (parties, meetings, &c.). This many-to-many relationship is represented through an Invitation table. Each Person can have many Invitations. Each Event can also have many Invitations. • jquery :last missing multiple classes

  I have an unordered list, and am using jquery to find the last ul and apply a class. jQuery("ul.class1:last").addClass("lastUi"); The html is as follows: <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1"></ul> This is working fine, however it has now changed in that another class is being added to the list so the html looks like: <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1 class2"></ul> <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1 class2"></ul> The jQuery code is now not picking up the last ul with both class1 and class2 as the last element and isn't adding the lastUI class.

• Can Wordpress Duplicate An Entire Page Structure?

  I have a wordpress site that i've been working on that has some pages (as in NOT posts) that a client changes content on in order to target particular keywords. these pages have been using podscms for content management. The client now wants to be able to duplicate these pages any number of times and edit the text within them. So basically, he wants to be have a dozen or so versions of about 4 linked pages. Does anyone know if it's possible to duplicate an entire multipage structure like this in WP? Or any WP driven sites that implement segmentation similarly?

  Hey all, Im looking to Extract a SharePoint List (WSS 2.0) to a SQL(2005) Table using SQL Server Integrated Services. First off I am aware of the "adapter" that does this from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd365137.aspx however I'm just wondering for compatibility purposes if it can't just be done "out of the box". There are only a limited number of "Data Flow Sources" to select as alternatives and I am unsure if any of these would be able to work in a similar way either directly to SharePoint or via SharePoints web services (e.g. http://server_name/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx) From the list of these sources it looks like the best option would be the OLE DB connector, but not sure how it would do this. Any help you have would be great, Mark

  Hi, I'm trying to understand how Eval() works for a specific purpose. I'm working on a project I don't really know and I need to read some data and put them in drop down list. These data are already read and are displayed inside an ItemTemplate. I noticed there are read using the Eval() method. Something like: <ItemTemplate> <a href="...=<%# Eval("foo") %>></a> </ItemTemplate> I need to know where Eval is getting these data from in order to discover where I should read them for my drop down list! But I didn't really understand how it works! I know that Eval() evaluates data binding expressions at runtime but where do you think I should take a look at? Thank you

• Somewhat newb question about assy and the heap.

  Ultimately I am just trying to figure out how to dynamically allocate heap memory from within assembly. If I call Linux sbrk() from assembly code, can I use the address returned as I would use an address of a statically (ie in the .data section of my program listing) declared chunk of memory? I know Linux uses the hardware MMU if present, so I am not sure if what sbrk returns is a 'raw' pointer to real RAM, or is it a cooked pointer to RAM that may be modified by Linux's VM system? I read this: How are sbrk/brk implemented in Linux?. I suspect I can not use the return value from sbrk() without worry: the MMU fault on access-non-allocated-address must cause the VM to alter the real location in RAM being addressed. Thus assy, not linked against libc or what-have-you, would not know the address has changed. Does this make sense, or am I out to lunch?

My home page and everything else gets shifted down to make room for Info page. The "Categories" table have 5 entries, they are: "Car", "Websites", "Technology", "Mobile Phones", and "Interest". So each time I put an entry to the "Pages" table, I need to map it to the "Categories" table so are arranged properly.   Suppose we're making a system where we have to store the addrees for buildings, persons, cars, etc. The address 'format' should be something like: State (From a State list) County (From a County List) Street (free text, like '5th Avenue') Number (free text, like 'Chrysler Building, Floor 10, Office No. 10') (Yes I don't live in U.S.A) What would be the best way to store that info: Should I have a Person_Address, Car_Address, ... Or the address info should be in columns on each entity, Could we have just one address table and try to link each row to a different entity? Or are there another 'better' way to handle this type of scenario? How would yo do it?

  Recently I came across the SkipList data structure. It really helped me to solve one otherwise critical problem to be solved. I was struggling to solve the same problem with Balanced Binary tree but it became very complex as the tree needs to be always balanced and I wanted to know the existence of not only a particular value but values in certain range. SkipList helped me to solve that problem effectively. I am wondering what else data structures that I need to know? I know - Array, List, Stack, Queue, Linked List, hashtable, tree and its different forms like B-tree, Trie etc. Would like to know if you find some other data structure/concept very interesting to know yet effective enough to be used in a daily development cycle.

• Security for web services only used from a Silverlight application?

  I have googled a bit for how I should handle security in a web service application when the application is basically the data repository for a Silverlight application, but have gotten inconclusive results. The Silverlight application is not supposed to have its own user authentication, since it will be reachable only through a web application that the user have already authenticated to get into. As such, I was thinking I could simply add a parameter to the SL application that is a cookie-type value, with a certain lifetime, linked to the user in the database. The SL application would then have to pass this value alongside other parameters to the web services. Since the web service is hopefully going to be a generic web service endpoint, few methods, adding an extra parameter at this level will not be a problem. But, am I supposed to roll this system on my own? It sounds to me as this isn't exactly new features that nobody has considered before, so what are my options?

• Remote XP -> Win98 WMI Connection

  I've asked this on Technet, but because Win98 is no longer supported, I can't get any decent information, I was hoping there might be some "old school" developers here who might be able to help me. There is an application that we use a lot at work. This application should run 8am-5pm with as little interruption as possible. Most of the computers where this application runs are using Win98, and we have no way to upgrade them because we can't buy new hardware at the moment. My computer is running WinXP, so I thought of a way to make sure that this application runs all the time: The idea I had was to develop a Windows Service that executes a VBScript file that contains a WMI query to get a list of processes from each computer. Each list is then examined, and, depending on whether or not the target application is running, it will either do nothing, or it will execute another VBScript file that contains a WMI query that will be used to start the target application remotely. I later found a way to do this all with 1 VBScript file (see code below) My problem is in the remote connection to the target computers. I've installed WMI Core 1.5 on them, but every time I try the remote connection, I get the following: The remote server is unavailable or does not exist: 'GetObject' VBScript runtime error 800A01CE I've done some research, and all I've found is info about DCOM Config and Windows Firewall, but Win98 doesn't have either of these. • Is there anything like memcached, but for sorted lists?

  I have a situation where I could really benefit from having system like memcached, but with the ability to store (per each key) sorted list of elements, and modifying the list by addition of values. For example: something.add_to_sorted_list( 'topics_list_sorted_by_title', 1234, 'some_title') something.add_to_sorted_list( 'topics_list_sorted_by_title', 5436, 'zzz') something.add_to_sorted_list( 'topics_list_sorted_by_title', 5623, 'aaa') Which I then could use like this: something.get_list_size( 'topics_list_sorted_by_title' ) // returns 3 something.get_list_elements( 'topics_list_sorted_by_title', 1, 10 ) // returns: 5623, 1234, 5436 Required system would allow me to easily get items count in every array, and fetch any number of values from the array, with the assumption that the values are sorted using attached value. I hope that the description is clear. And the question is relatively simple: is there any such system?

• IQueryable Where fails to work

  I am using N-Hibernate and have a class/table called Boxers I also have a prospect table which tells use if the boxer is a prospect. (this table is one column of just the boxersID) So i Want to get all boxers that are prospects (meaning all boxers that have there id in the prospects table) Public static IQueryable<Boxer> IsProspect(this IQueryable<Boxer> query) { return query.Where(x => x.Prospect != null); } this doesnt trim down my list of boxers to the boxers that are prospect... yet if i debug and look at any boxer it will have True or false next to each one correctly... Why isnt the where clause correctly trimming down the list?
