• Listview with alternating resources in Android

  Hi! I have a ListView and an adapter that sets alternating background colors to the list items overwriting getView Method in my adapter. I want to go further and I would to set to each row a Resource background. • Sending basic authentication information via form

  I am working on a site that currently uses a basic authentication dialog box login system, that is the type of dialog that you get if you go here: http://www.dur.ac.uk/vm.boatclub/password/index.php I did not set this system up and am not in a position to easily/quickly work around it, but it DOES work. The issue however is that the dialog box is not very helpful in telling you what login information you have to use (that is which username and password combination), and so I would like to replace it with a form. I had been thinking that this wasn't possible but I wanted to ask in order to find out. Is it possible to set up an HTML form that sends the data to the server such that it accepts it in the same way that it would using this dialog box? Alternatively is it possible to set up a PHP script that would take normal form data and process it somehow passing it to the server such that it logs in? Edit: After being told that this is basic authentication I went around and have managed to find a way that works and keeps the user persistently logged in. However, this does not work in internet explorer. The solution was simply to redirect the user to: http://username:[email protected].ac.uk/vm.boatclub/password/index.php But Internet Explorer removed it due to phishing uses about 3 years ago. Is there a way to use javascript to get the browser to access the site in this way? Or will I have to simply change my UI?

  I want to use Festival TTS with my C++ programme. So i have downloaded all files form http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/downloads/festival/2.0.95/ then i start reading manual(http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/manual/festival_28.html) for C++ API but in manual they says that: In order to use Festival you must include festival/src/include/festival.h' which in turn will include the necessary other include files infestival/src/include' and speech_tools/include' you should ensure these are included in the include path for you your program. Also you will need to link your program withfestival/src/lib/libFestival.a', speech_tools/lib/libestools.a',speech_tools/lib/libestbase.a' and `speech_tools/lib/libeststring.a' as well as any other optional libraries such as net audio. " I am using UBUNTU 10.04(festival package is by default installed and i can use it form terminal by festival command) and GCC 4.4.3 but the problem is that i am new to GCC and i am not understanding which files i have to include in order to run my C++ code and i also don't know how to link libraries with my c++ code. So please tell me exactly which files i have to include and how to link with libraries if anyone already use festival tts with c++ then please post your code Thanks

• Django-allauth redirected to connections

  I have a query result set which I like to edit first and then put it to my ListView. • Mix Audio tracks with offset in SOX

  From ASP.Net, I am using FFMPEG to convert flv files on a Flash Media Server to wavs that I need to mix into a single MP3 file. I originally attempted this entirely with FFMPEG but eventually gave up on the mixing step because I don't believe it it possible to combine audio only tracks into a single result file. I would love to be wrong. I am now using FFMPEG to access the FLV files and extract the audio track to wav so that SOX can mix them. The problem is that I must offset one of the audio tracks by a few seconds so that they are synchronized. Each file is one half of a conversation between a student and a teacher. For example teacher.wav might need to begin 3.3 seconds after student.wav. I can only figure out how to mix the files with SOX where both tracks begin at the same time. My best attempt at this point is: ffmpeg -y -i rtmp://server/appName/instance/student.flv -ac 1 student.wav ffmpeg -y -i rtmp://server/appName/instance/teacher.flv -ac 1 teacher.wav sox -m student.wav teacher.wav combined.mp3 splice 3.3 These tools (FFMEG/SoX) were chosen based on my best research, but are not required. Any working solution would allow an ASP.Net service to input the two FMS flvs and create a combined MP3 using open-source or free tools.

• Rails: Display Maintenance Page if No Database Connection Available

  I'm looking for a solution that will allow my rails app to render a user-friendly maintenance page when there is no Mysql server available to connect to. Normally a Mysql::Error is thrown from the mysql connection adapter in active_record. Something like: /!\ FAILSAFE /!\ Wed May 26 11:40:14 -0700 2010 Status: 500 Internal Server Error Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' Is there a low-overhead way to catch this error and render a maintenance page instead? I'm assuming that since connections are actually made in the active_record mysql adapter the app never makes it to the controller stack before it throws the error, so you can't catch it in a controller. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

• JXTreeTable and BorderHighlighter Drawing Border on All Rows

  I'm using a BorderHighlighter on my JXTreeTable to put a border above each of the table cells on non-leaf rows to give a more clear visual separator for users. The problem is that when I expand the hierarchical column, all cells in the hierarchical column, for all rows, include the Border from the Highlighter. The other columns are displaying just fine. • How to customise the TextView inside a Spinner?

  I have a Spinner with an ArrayAdapter that feeds Values into it. The Problem is that the text is to long for the view and the result is a very very ugly spinner. As can be seen in the screenshot: I tried to pass the Id of my own TextView into the Adapter but everytime the spinner should be shown I get an Exception that the Id I supplied is not valid: 04-26 17:38:39.695: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(4276): android.content.res.Resources$NotFoundException: Resource ID #0x7f09003a type #0x12 is not valid Where do I have to define the TextView? In a separate xml file? With a surrounding viewgroup? It would help me a lot if I could see an example of the adapter initialization and the textview definition?

  steps: 1. created a vm in windows 2. partitioned drive and installed ubuntu 3. exported the vm I created 4. mounted windows drive in ubuntu 5. imported the vm from the export, in the mounted drive 6. tried to start vm, got the following error: "Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XXXX. Using the same ImageAdapter with a GridView, everything works ok, but when i use with above class, i get nothing. Inside AdapterView.java there is code for those click, longclick, etc events... so why can't i just fire them? Maybe i'm misunderstanding basic things on how AdapterView works? Should I extend other base classes instead? And why? Hoping to find more experienced guidance on here, thanks in advance.

I want to load images into GridView from JSON (by caching images into SD Card), and wanna populate GridView (no matter Internet available or not) once images already downloaded into SD Card.
