    (I'm doing this in AS3, but I'm sure the answer could be given in psuedocode) Basically, I have a XML file similar to: <Main> <Event> <Name>Blah</Name> <Event> Name>Blah2</Name> <Event> <Name>Blah3</Name> ... </Event> </Event> </Event> </Main> Yeah, to some extent it's poor design. But the idea I'm going for is that any Event has the potential to compromise of other Events and this idea kinda loops. Any ideas on how to do this?

  • jCarousel jQuery ajax loading 1000 records

    I'm using jCarousel to present a vertical scolling list of +-1000 names. I am using ajax to load the data 100 records at a time then when all the data has loaded I just let the jCarousel loop in the DOM.   • JQuery/AJAX: Loading external DIVs using dynamic content

    I need to create a page that will load divs from an external page using Jquery and AJAX. I have come across a few good tutorials, but they are all based on static content, my links and content are generated by PHP. The main tutorial I am basing my code on is from: http://yensdesign.com/2008/12/how-to-load-content-via-ajax-in-jquery/ The exact function i need is as follows: Main page contains a permanent div listing some links containing a parameter. Upon click, link passes parameter to external page. External page filters recordset against parameter and populates div with results. The new div contains a new set of links with new parameters. The external div is loaded underneath the main pages first div. Process can then be repeated creating a chain of divs under each other. The last div in the chain will then direct to a new page collating all the previously used querystrings. I can handle all of the PHP work with populating the divs on the main and external pages.     This is probably a simple question, however I am new to C++ and I cannot figure this out. I am trying to load a binary file and load each byte to a vector. This works fine with a small file, but when I try to read larger than 410 bytes the program crashes and says: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.   • vcxproj file won't load into solution.

    We've just recently switched to VS 2010 and i had a solution that was working fine. This moring when i try to load the solution i get the error: "An item with the same key has already been added." This occurs when it is trying to load one of our main projects and it is not loaded. I assumed the problem was with my solution so i created a brand new empty solution and tried to load the same vcxproj and got exactly the same error. When i revert the project file to a previous version it works, so apparently it's something in the vcxproj file. However it also appears that i'm the only one in the office that is affected. So some combination of the vcxproj file and my computer seems to be the issue. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any ideas on a solution? Thanks

    could anybody knows any alternatives to progressbar? Inmy project im using progressbar..I would like to change it to something like a rotating gif image which indicates the processing or someother labels which prevents the user from interacting to the program.I tried to implement the gif image by using background worker but its hanging may be coz of huge file transfer process.. So im searching for someother alternative like a label which will disable the content and prevent the user to interact with the program. Could anybody help me on this?

    I am trying to write a web widget which will allow users to display customized information (from my website) in their own web page. The mechanism I want to use (for creating the web widget) is javascript. So basically, I want to be able to write some javascript code like this (this is what the end user copies into their HTML page, to get my widget displayed in their page) <script type="text/javascript"> /* javascript here to fetch page from remote url and insert into DOM */ </script> I have two questions: how do I write a javascript code to fetch the page from the remote url? Ideally this will be PLAIN javascript (i.e. not using jQuery etc - since I dont want to force the user to get third party scripts jQuery which may conflict with other scripts on their page etc) The page I am fetching contains inline javascript, which gets executed in an body.onLoad event, as well as other functions which are used in response to user actions - my questions are: i). will the body.onLoad event be triggered for the retrieved document?. ii). If the retrieved page is dumped directly into the DOM, then the document will contain two <body> sections, which is no longer valid (X)HTML - however, I need the body.onLoad event to be triggered for the page to be setup correctly, and I also need the other functions in the retrieved page, for the retrieved page to be able to respond to the user interaction. Any suggestions/tips on how I can solve these problems?

  • iPhone loading view from nib only works once

    Hi Forum I'm trying to add a «loader-view» to my app which shows a spinner while doing stuff. This works fine the first time, but it doesn't work a second time. here's what I do: I have a viewController for the spinner (spinnerViewController) and a nib-file which I made in IB (spinner.xib). I load the nib in the viewDidLoad-event: spinnerView = [[spinnerViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"spinner" bundle:nil]; [spinnerView retain]; spinnerView is declared in the .h-file (spinnerViewController *spinnerView;) next, I show the spinner-view: [self.view addSubview:spinnerView.view]; [self.view bringSubviewToFront:spinnerView.view]; which works fine... And now the trouble starts. No matter what I do, I can't show the spinner view again. I tried just hiding it (self.view sendSubViewToBack: spinnerView.view) which works for hiding, but when I try to bring it to the front again (self.view bringSubViewToFront: spinnerView.view) it doesn't work. I also tried removing the spinner-view and add it again with no success (within the spinnerViewController: [self.view removeFromSuperview] and to show it again [self.view addSubview... ) Any ideas what I'm doing wrong??? ;) Thanks for the help!

  • Stylesheets loading but styles not showing...

    Hi- I have a website I created in VS2010 and am trying to run with IIS7. My website starts in all major browsers but for some reason the styles are not applied even though I've confirmed using Firebug that the stylesheets have indeed loaded. Also, when I use the inspect tool to click on an element, I can see in the right-side box the specific styles that are supposed to be applied. I thought this might be a permissions issue but I think I've got those set properly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I am able to create, write and read an SQLite Database in my Android App. I have a copy of the Database that is fully populated with data, and I want to get that data into the App's Database. Is it possible to access my pouplaed database from inside my App? Or can I at least create a copy of the populated database and then use that copy? Or do I need to do a .dump and put all the inserts into the Android code?

    Hello, I have an application where different users can log in via a single portal login. When they log in, if they belong to more than 1 company they have to select the company they belong to. The theme will change if there is a custom theme for that company. Each page my application has inherits a "CustomPage" class Here is the code for the custom page: public class CustomPage : Page { protected void Page_PreInit(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (Globals.Company != null && Directory.Exists(Page.MapPath("~/App_Themes/" + Globals.Company.CompanyName))) { Page.Theme = Globals.Company.CompanyName; } else { Page.Theme = "Default"; } } } When the customer belongs to more than 1 company, and they select the company they belong to, the theme loads just fine. So, the problem I am having is this: If they belong to just 1 company, the company is automatically selected but the theme does not load right away. However, if I refresh the page, the theme loads just fine. Even the default theme will not load. The page has no css at all until I refresh. I am not using forms authentication and the default theme in the web config is "Default" <pages theme="Default"> Any thoughts to what might be going on?     Hello, To start off, what I have is a simple Winforms app, with just a save and load button, and with a datagridview control to hold data. What I am looking to do is input some data into the control, hit the save button, and it save all the data to a file locally on the computer, and when I hit load, it loads the file and populates the control appropriately, keeping all rows, columns, and data the same as when saved. Although it sounds fairly simple to me, I cant seem to figure a good way to save and load the data. Can I get a few pointers or examples to get myself started? Thank you.

    I've got an entity with a few properties that gets used a lot in my Hibernate/GWT app. For the most part, everything works fine, but Hibernate refuses to load one of the properties. It doesn't appear in the query, despite being annotated correctly in the entity. The relevant portion of the entity: @Column(name="HasSubSlots") @Type(type="yes_no") public boolean hasSubSlotSupport() { return hasSubSlotSupport; } And the generated SQL query: Hibernate: /* load entities.DeviceModel */ select devicemode0_.DevModel as DevModel1_0_, devicemode0_.InvModelName as InvModel2_1_0_ from DeviceModels devicemode0_ where devicemode0_.DevModel=? Despite the fact that I refer to that property, it's never loaded, lazily or not, and the getter always returns false. Any ideas on how I can dig deeper into this, or what might be wrong?

    I'm trying to create an actionscript class to serve as a data model for my Flex app. I already have a formatted XML file to read from, and when I was simply declaring the data service in my MXML app I used this code inside the declarations: I'm now trying to create a model class and can't seem to get the same functionality. I've tried importing mx.rpc.http.HTTPService but i think this is different. And using the XML class doesn't seem to allow the ability to define a source url. I'm assuming that I am able to declare a public var inside my class that will read this XML source file as I had done in the main app. If this is possible, how do I do it?

  • Django: IE doesn't load locahost or loads very SLOWLY

    I'm just starting to learn Django, building a project on my computer, running Windows 7 64-bit, Python 2.7, Django 1.3. Basically whatever I write, it loads in Chrome and Firefox instantly. But for IE (version 9), it just stalls there, and does nothing. I can load up "http://127.0.0.1:8000" on IE and leave the computer on for hours and it doesn't load. Sometimes, when I refresh a couple of times or restart IE it'll work. If I change something in the code, again, Chrome and Firefox reflects changes instantly, whereas IE doesn't - if it loads the page at all. What is going on? I'm losing my mind here....
