  • Java - Incrementing through IP addresses in String format

    I'm new to java and i'm trying to find a way of incrementing through an user input IP address range. For example from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.255. However the way my application works at the moment is the take the from and to ip addresses as a String. Is there a way I can increment through all the ip addresses the user input from and to? Hope this makes sense and please dont flame me, I have looked for an answer!

    Hi, I have an SQL database table, I want to find everything in a table where the 'Room' says 'DISPOSED', Insert 'DISPOSED' into the 'Status' field and then delete the entry in 'Room'. Basically moving the entry from one field to another (if the 'Room' field has 'DISPOSED' in it) Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

    I'm trying to use Html.ActionLink to generate a link with in this form: /Action/Model/Id/Parameter1/Parameter2 I've used: <%= Html.ActionLink("Link Text", "Action", "Model", new { id = var, parament1=var1 }, null) % but it always ends up looking like /Action/Model/Id?parameter1=variable I've seen similar questions on Stackoverflow and elsewhere, but I can't find a solution that works/makes sense. Any help would be appreciated.

I want to add some methods that operate on both models though. for example, addX() will create an object from both models A and B. What's the best way to structure code in this situation, since it doesnt make sense to have the method belong to either of the models methods.     Working on a custom model binder in ASP.NET MVC 2. Most of the time I am binding data from typical form or querystring data. There are times that I end up letting the model binder bind part of an object and get the rest out of session at the controller action level. Does it make better sense to bind the entire object from the model binder (e.g. querystring, form, and session)?

I mean this in a strong sense: if my program generator compiles, I want the type system to be strong enough that only type-correct programs can be generated.   • Why Windows Live Spaces Fetch Image Through HTTPS?

    I happens to find that, when a live space page is loaded, inline images are fetched by https protocol instead of http protocol. This doesn't make sense. The text part of live space is not fetched by https, why images are fetched with https? I bet the https way to fetch image just make the page loaded slower. Is there any special advantage to choose https over http in this case?

    In my application I use some icons. Where should I store the path of the directory containing those icons ? The icons are used in different classes so it doesn't really make sense to store them in one of those classes in particular. I read that global variables are evil, but is it acceptable to use a class (eg Commons) containing only public static final fields to store this king of data ? What solution is used in professional applications ?

  • Django Show M2M field in both model forms

    Hi I am using the forms.ModelForm to create my form. I want to be able to show the manytomany field in both model forms, how do I do this? If the manytomany relationship is defined in the model it is fine and just appears but if it is not in the model (but is still linked via the other model) it does not appear. Hope this makes sense.
