  • Array.sort Sorting Stability in Different Browsers

    - by Boushley
    What is the stability of Array.sort in different browsers. I know that the ECMA Script specification does not specify which algorithm to use, nor does it specify whether the sort should be stable. I've found this information on for Firefox https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Core_JavaScript_1.5_Reference/Global_Objects/Array/sort which specifies that firefox uses a stable sort. Does anyone know about IE 6/7/8, Chrome, Safari?

  • Weird javascript problem...

    - by Silvio Iannone
    Hi there, i'm building a page that is dinamically loaded with ajax. This is what the '$.get' jQuery function calls (this is located on an external HTML page): <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('button').sb_animateButton(); $('input').sb_animateInput(); $('#settings_security_error').hide(); }); function check_passwords(password, password_confirm) { $('#settings_security_error').show(); alert('I\'m in funcion!'); // This works... if(password.length < 4) // ... this doesn't { $('#settings_security_error').innerHTML = 'Password too short'; } else { password = hex_md5(password); password_confirm = hex_md5(password_confirm); $.get('/engine/ajax/check_password.php?password=' + password + '$password_confirm=' + password_confirm, {language: "php", version: 5}, function(result) { $('#settings_security_error').innerHTML = result; }, 'html'); } } </script> <div class="title">Security</div> <table class="sub_container"> <tr> <td><label>Old password</label></td> <td class="td_input"><input type="password" name="old_password"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td><label>New password</label></td> <td class="td_input"><input type="password" name="new_password" id="settings_security_new_password" onkeyup="check_passwords(this.value, getElementById('settings_security_password_confirm').value)"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td><label>Confirm password</label></td> <td class="td_input"><input type="password" name="new_password_confirm" id="settings_security_password_confirm" onkeyup="check_passwords(getElementById('settings_security_new_password').value, this.value)"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="td_error" id="settings_security_error"></td> </tr> </table> And this is where the external HTML is placed...: <div id="settings_appearance"> </div> ... from this javascript snippet: function get_page_content(page, target_id) { $.get('engine/ajax/get_page_content.php?page=' + page, null, function(result) { $("#"+target_id).html(result); // Or whatever you need to insert the result }, 'html'); } Well... the problem is that the javascript in the first snippet is executed when it's loaded by the $.get function, but i still can't understand the reason why when i type into the input boxes nothing happen. It should write the output of the javascript function check_passwords(password, password_confirm) in <td class="td_error" id="settings_security_error"></td>. Thanks for helping. Silvio

  • How to read postgresql dump file in Python

    - by xorsyst
    I'd like my Python script to read some data out of a postgresql dump file. The Python will be running on a system without postgresql, and needs to process the data in a dump file. It looks fairly straightforward to parse the CREATE TABLE calls to find the column names, then the INSERT INTO rows to build the contents. But I'm sure there would be quite a few gotchas in doing this reliably. Does anyone know of a module which will do this?

  • How can I specify that Doctrine must use a mysqli-connection

    - by murze
    Hi, while executing a long script that uses Doctrine to access the db, I get an error 2006 server has gone away. I've already solved this problem on a website that doens't use Doctrine. The solution there was to use mysqli instead of the normal mysql driver. How can i tell Doctrine to use a mysqli-driver in order to avoid 2006-errors? Thanks!

  • PHP image resize and rounded image corners dynamically

    - by Dan
    I'm working of a script that dynamically ads rounded edges to an image then crops it down to a certain size. At the moment the script ads the rounded edges to the picture but i cannot get it so the original image is resized to fit within the dimensons of the final outputted image (140px x 120px) The problem is that the orginal uploaded image depending on it's orginal dimensions change the size it is in the final PNG { $image_file = $_FILES['image']['tmp_name']; $corner_radius = isset($_GET['radius']) ? $_GET['radius'] : 20; // The default corner radius is set to 20px $topleft = (isset($_GET['topleft']) and $_GET['topleft'] == "no") ? false : true; // Top-left rounded corner is shown by default $bottomleft = (isset($_GET['bottomleft']) and $_GET['bottomleft'] == "no") ? false : true; // Bottom-left rounded corner is shown by default $bottomright = (isset($_GET['bottomright']) and $_GET['bottomright'] == "no") ? false : true; // Bottom-right rounded corner is shown by default $topright = (isset($_GET['topright']) and $_GET['topright'] == "no") ? false : true; // Top-right rounded corner is shown by default $imagetype=$_FILES['image']['type']; $endsize=$corner_radius; $startsize=$endsize*3-1; $arcsize=$startsize*2+1; if (($imagetype=='image/jpeg') or ($imagetype=='jpg')) { $image = imagecreatefromjpeg($image_file); } else { if (($imagetype=='GIF') or ($imagetype=='gif')) { $image = imagecreatefromgif($image_file); } else { $image = imagecreatefrompng($image_file); } } $forecolor ='#ffffff'; $size = getimagesize($image_file); // Top-left corner $background = imagecreatetruecolor($size[0],$size[1]); imagecopymerge($background, $image, 0, 0, 0, 0, $size[0], $size[1], 100); $startx=$size[0]*2-1; $starty=$size[1]*2-1; $im_temp = imagecreatetruecolor($startx,$starty); imagecopyresampled($im_temp, $background, 0, 0, 0, 0, $startx, $starty, $size[0], $size[1]); $bg = imagecolorallocate($im_temp, 255,255,255); $fg = imagecolorallocate($im_temp, 255,255,255); if ($topleft == true) { if(!imagearc($im_temp, $startsize, $startsize, $arcsize, $arcsize, 180,270,$bg))echo "nope"; imagefilltoborder($im_temp,0,0,$bg,$bg); } // Bottom-left corner // Top-right corner if ($topright == true) { imagearc($im_temp, $startx-$startsize, $startsize,$arcsize, $arcsize, 270,360,$bg); imagefilltoborder($im_temp,$startx,0,$bg,$bg); } $image = imagecreatetruecolor(140,120); imagecopyresampled($image, $im_temp, 0, 0, 0, 0, $size[0],$size[1],$starty+1310,$startx+1500); // Output final image if(!imagepng($image,'hello.png')) echo "boo"; if(!imagedestroy($image)) echo "2"; if(!imagedestroy($background)) echo "3"; if(!imagedestroy($im_temp)) echo "4"; } EDIT: My question is how to get the orginal image reized so it fits into the 140 x 120 image that is processed with the rounded edges?

  • Use .htaccess to change the url PHP sees

    - by incrediman
    I want to use htaccess to not only choose the script that processes the request, but also to change the request uri as php sees it. Can this be done? For example: RewriteRule /funstuff/ funstuff.php ...How can I change that RewriteRule or otherwise change my .htaccess file to get funstuff.php to think that the original request url was actually http://www.example.com/funstuff.php and not http://www.example.com/funstuff/?

  • javascript simple object creation test: opera leaks?

    - by joe
    Hi, I am trying to figure out certain memory leak conditions in javascript on a few browsers. Currently I'm only testing FF 3.6, Opera 10.10, and Safari 4.0.3. I've started with a fairly simple test, and can confirm no memory leaks in Firefox and Safari. But Opera just takes memory and never gives it back. What gives? Here's the test: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> window.onload = init; //window.onunload = cleanup; var a=[]; function init() { var d = document.createElement('div'); d.innerHTML = "page loading..."; document.body.appendChild(d); for (var i=0; i<400000; i++) { a[i] = new Obj("xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"); } d.innerHTML = "PAGE LOADED"; } function cleanup() { for (var i=0; i<400000; i++) { a[i] = null; } } function Obj(msg) { this.msg=msg; } </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> I shouldn't need the cleanup() call on window.unload, but tried that also. No luck. As you can see this is simple JS, no circular DOM links, no closures. I monitor the memory usage using 'top' on Mac 10.4.11. Memory usage spikes up on page load, as expected. In FF and Safari reloading the page does not use any further memory, and all memory is returned when the window (tab) is closed. In Opera, memory spikes on load, and seems to also spike further on each reload (but not always...). But regardless of reload, memory never goes back down below the initial load spike. I had hoped this was a no-brainer test that all browsers would pass, so I could move on to more "interesting" conditions. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this a known Opera issue? Thanks! -joe

  • php json encode

    - by hafizan
    This below output come from php json_encode.What we see here is 0849 is twice.Since javascript only use sn to get value why we need the "0" value.The main problem is speed execution. If 800 kb data might can be reduce to 400 kb {"success":"true","total":968,"data":[{"0":"0849","sn":"0849" }] If no solution i have to make a script to filter in json_encode so no need twice data transter.
