    If there is a foreach loop that contains DataContext.Customer.InsertOnSubmit(cust) for example: foreach (Object obj in collection) { Customer cust = new Customer { Id = obj.Id, Name = obj.Name ... }; DataContext.Customer.InsertOnSubmit(cust); } And outside of the loop there is a call to: DataContext.SubmittChanges(); Is there a way to obtain the SubmittChanges progress in order to report the progress back to the user (or a different approach without moving the SubmittChanges into the loop)?

    Is there a way to detect when a specific device is plugged into a usb port, what I would like to happen is when I plug my laptop into my docking station it run up several apps to account for my different keyboard, mouse and monitors. I know how to do this on the Windows versions, with SendInput calls, but I need to do something similar for Linux ports. It looks complicated, because ideally, I'd like something that would work on multiple Linux distros (SuSe, Red Hat, Ubunutu...) and it looks like there are at least 3 different screen-saver frameworks: xscreensaver, gnome-screensaver, and something else in KDE.

    Basically, I know how to create graph data structures and use Dijkstra's algorithm in programming languages where side effects are allowed. Typically, graph algorithms use a structure to mark certain nodes as 'visited', but this has side effects, which I'm trying to avoid. I can think of one way to implement this in a functional language, but it basically requires passing around large amounts of state to different functions, and I'm wondering if there is a more space-efficient solution.

  • Combining search button on google map and search API

    Basically, i have the google api search engine which will send back addresses based on the search by the user; And a map api which will go over to the selected place typed in the textbox. However, both of them are in different textboxes / buttons. i can't seem to be able to change the ids of the button to make ONE of the buttons function as two ways, which your able to get the address, and the map will move to the selected location.

    Hi Gurus, We are using 2.x spring security right now. I am asked to build an admin tool so that the ROLE_ADMIN can change to any user in the site and view the site as that person (each person on the site may see different stuff depending on the role which is dynamically granted base on the database) and of course the admin should be able to switch back to admin without logging in.   • Using FFmpeg or wrapper to get mp3 from mp4 in C#

    I'm trying to extract an mp3 from a flash compatible mp4 file and have so far found FFMpeg and a bunch of different wrappers that all claim to be able to do the job. Ideally, I'd like to not have to rely on shelling to the FFMpeg exe, but none of the wrappers I've tried seem to work.... Has anyone got any code or advice for how to go about this? Thanks!
