• How do I specify a null relation in SQLAlchemy?

  Not sure what the correct title for this question should be. I have the following schema: Matters have a one-many relationship to WorkItems. WorkItems have a one-one (or one-zero) relationship to LineItems. I am trying to create the following relation between Matters and WorkItems Matter.unbilled_work_items = orm.relation(WorkItem, primaryjoin = (Matter.id == WorkItem.matter_id) and (WorkItem.line_item_id == None), foreign_keys = [WorkItem.matter_id, WorkItem.line_item_id], viewonly=True ) This throws: AttributeError: '_Null' object has no attribute 'table' That seems to be saying that the second clause in the primaryjoin returns an object of type _Null, but it seems to be expecting something with a "table" attribute. This seems like it should be pretty straightforward to me, am I missing something obvious?

  Is it possible to create a table that has no 'id'? For example, this is my domain: class SnbrActVector { int nid String term double weight static mapping = { version false id generator: 'identity' } static constraints = { } } When I run this SQL statement, it fails: insert into snbr_act_vector values (5, 'term', 0.5) I checked the table and 'id' is already set to autoincrement. I'm thinking that another option is to remove the 'id' itself. Or is there another workaround for this? Please assume that it is not an option to change the givent SQL statement.

This query takes about 14 seconds to run. The table has 214856 rows, and the particular run_id I am filtering on has 162204 records. It's not on a super high power machine, but I feel like I could be doing this more efficiently. My main goal is to summarize by Rule and Title and show Pass and Fail count columns.

  It was suggested that I repost this questions as I didn't do a very good job discribing my issue the first time. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2921286/access-question) THE SITUATION: I have inspections from many months of many years. Sometimes there is more than one inspection in a month, sometimes there is no inspection. However, the report that is desired by the clients requires that I have EXACTLY ONE record per month for the time frame they request the report. They understand the data issues and have stated that if there is more than one inspection in a month to take the latest one. If the is not an inspection for that month, go back in time untill you find one and use that one. I will now say what I have tried. Although if someone else has a better approach, I am perfectly willing to throw away what I have done and do it differently... STEP 1: create a query that removes the duplicates from the data. Ie. only one record per equip_id for each month/year, keeping the latest one. (done successfully) STEP 2: create a table of the date ranges the client wants the report for. (This is done dynamically at runtime) This table two field, Month and Year. So if the client wants a report from FEb 2008 to March 2010 the table would look like: Month Year 2 2008 3 2008 . . . 12 2008 1 2009 . . . 12 2009 1 2010 2 2010 3 2010 I then left joined this table with my query from step 1. So now I have a record for every month and every year that they want the report for, with nulls(or blanks) or sometimes 0s (not sure why, access is weird, but sometiems they are nulls and sumtimes they are 0s...) for the runtimes that are not avaiable. I don't particurally like this solution, but ill do it if i have to. (this is also done successfully) STEP 3: Fill in the missing runtime values. This I HAVE NOT done successfully. Note that if the request range for the report is feb 2008 to march 2010 and the oldest record for a particular equip_id is say june 2008, it is O.K. for the runtimes to be null (or zeros) for feb - may 2008. I am working with the following query for this step: SELECT equip_id as e_id,year,month, (select top 1 runhours from qry_1_c_One_Record_per_Month a where a.equip_id = e_id order by year,month) FROM qry_1_c_One_Record_per_Month where runhours is null or runhours = 0; UNION SELECT equip_id, year, month, runhours FROM qry_1_c_One_Record_per_Month WHERE .runhours Is Not Null And runhours <> 0 However I clearly can't check the a.equip_id = e_id ... so i don't have anyway to make sure i'm looking at the correct equip_id SUMMARY: So like i said i'm willing to throw away any part, or all of what I tried. Just trying to give everyone a complete picture. I REALLY apreciate ANY help! Thanks so much in advance!

'</td> <td>' . form_textarea('destination') . '</td> </tr> <tr id="list" style="display:none;"> <td>' . form_label('File Path:', 'list_path') . '</td> <td>' . form_input('list_path') . '</td> </tr> alias div is shown by default on page load, list shown then i click on isList checkbox, and alias is shown again when i click on the checkbox again. This part works great and pretty straight froward. Now, I add CodeIgniter Form Validation plugin, set appropriate rules and set-up validation plugin to re-populate the form with. Without checkbox enabled everything works great. On errors form is re-populated. However, when form is submitted with checkbox enabled, I have an issue. CI's Form Validation plugin re-populates the form, and re-enables the checkbox, but the list div that is supposed to be shown when checkbox enabled is not there, and instead the alias div is shown. Is there any way around this issue? Can i have the list div shown on list validation error? Also, i would like to avoid using JavaScript form validation, and stick with my good old PHP.   I am about to run a massive data insert into my DB. I have managed to work out how to enable and rebuild non-clustered indexes on my tables but I also want to disable/enable primary keys. You can't disable the clustered index for the primary key as the table is inaccessible when that is done and my attempt to do a ALTER TABLE for constraints does not work as I think that is only for foreign keys. Do you know of a way to Disable the Primary Key and Re-Enable After SQL Bulk Insert. NOTE: This is over numerous tables and so I don't know the exact primary key specifications eg/name etc

From a performance point of view, is better to have a single array controller per entity and share it between all views or does CoreData cache avoid memory waste?

  I'm writing a Pylons app, and am trying to create a simple backup system where every table is serialized and tarred up into a single file for an administrator to download, and use to restore the app should something bad happen. I can serialize my table data just fine using the SqlAlchemy serializer, and I can deserialize it fine as well, but I can't figure out how to commit those changes back to the database. In order to serialize my data I am doing this: from myproject.model.meta import Session from sqlalchemy.ext.serializer import loads, dumps q = Session.query(MyTable) serialized_data = dumps(q.all()) In order to test things out, I go ahead and truncation MyTable, and then attempt to restore using serialized_data: from myproject.model import meta restore_q = loads(serialized_data, meta.metadata, Session) This doesn't seem to do anything... I've tried calling a Session.commit after the fact, individually walking through all the objects in restore_q and adding them, but nothing seems to work. What am I missing? Or is there a better way to do what I'm aiming for? I don't want to shell out and directly touch the database, since SqlAlchemy supports different database engines.

  I have a Joomla plugin which takes varying parameters. I need to retrieve one of these parameters from the current session. I've tried using Jumi and a little PHP snipped to retrieve the value and output it in the plugin's parameter list, but the Joomla plugin parser only handles the outter-most set of curly braces. ex. {fabrik view=table id=62 resetfilters=1 fab_tours_ro___tour_id=[tour_id]} [tour_id] I need to retrieve from the current session. I've tried {fabrik view=table id=62 resetfilters=1 fab_tours_ro___tour_id={jumi [scripts/get_tour_id.php]}} In that case the {jumi} tag never gets parsed. I could hack the {fabrik} plugin, but I'd prefer to do this without making any core or component changes, especially since I update Fabrik quite regularly via svn.

  Hello all! I am new to web services and i have a question: Should a web service be able to access the client database? Sorry if i am not using the proper terms. Lets say i have a web service method called : GetCarDetails(string name) which will actually return details from car table. in this method i have an sql statement like SELECT * FROM car WHERE name = ?. In the client application, i have a textbox where i can input a name and a button on which when i click, fill a gridview. • UIActionSheet Cancel button keeps crashing my app

  I am really puzzeled by this one. I have set up two UIActionSheets in my application. They work perfectly fine until you use the cancel button in the UIActionSheets. • Why won't this sql update query work?

  I have a table that has 5,000(table1) lines in it. Currently, 3,000 of them are filled up with data. The remaining values are currently null. In a separate table(table2), I have the remaining 2,000 rows of data. I am simply trying to take the values in table2 and put them in table1, but this statement isn't working: Update table1 Set field1 = (Select field1 From table2 Where table1.id = table2.id) Where Exists(Select field1 From table2 Where table1.id = table2.id) It looks like this should be working, but I am getting an error from Base, the db program I am using that just says error Near " ": syntax error...any help??   I'm trying to get forms authentication working for an mvc site. I have a custom database with a users table, and I would like to do my own password validation. I am logging in my user like this: if (PasswordHasher.Hash(password) == dataUser.Password) { FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(email, true); return true; } The problem is, when the session expires obviously the user has to login again. I am thinking I should be storing this Auth cookie in my users table? Update: I'm obviously in desperate need of more education in this area. I just noticed that the user stays authenticated even after an iisreset. I guess what I'm asking is how can I get persistent and non persistent authentication working properly. I want a user to not have to login again if they click "remember", and if they don't then their authentication should expire when the forms authentication is set to expire.

  Hello. I'm developing an iPhone application and I'm trying to do this: I want an application with tree views. The view shown first, doesn't have a navigation bar. If the user tap on a button, I need to open the second view with a navigation bar and a table view. The user can also add new items to the table view. If the user do so, the application will show the third view where the user can add fields (this view has also a navigation bar). It may seem simple, but for me it is not. I don't know how to use the UINavigationController and have not found yet a similar example for what I do (paragraph translated by google). UPDATE I don't know how where to put UINavigationController. How can I do that? Can I use a UIViewController to call a UINavigationController? Thank you.

  So I do this to retrieve my entire table: $result = mysql_query( 'SELECT * FROM mytable' ); Then, in another part of my PHP-page, I do another query (for a specific row): $result2 = mysql_query( 'SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE id = ' . $id ); $row = mysql_fetch_array( $result2 ); So, I'm performing two querys. However, I don't really have to do that, do I? I mean, the row that I'm retrieving in my second query already is present in $result (the result of my first query), since it contains my entire table. Therefore, instead of doing the second query, I would like to extract the desired row from $result directly (while keeping $result itself in tact). How would I do that?   I've never been able to find a good script or plugin for sql server Management Studio (2005 and or 2008) for a very common scripting need: specifying a few/all rows in a table and scripting their insert. You can guess my story: I've got some configuration data in my dev db and I need to script it for deployment to UAT and then production. I've found a few cludgy systems in the past, that were more trouble than they were worth. I need something free and unobtrusive. Once I find it I'll share it with the other 20 developers in my shop who are annoyed by this. Aren't we all annoyed by this by the way? What is the best, easiest, free, way to specify a few/all rows in a table and get a script their insert?

How can i only update to id of 1 being to update only one record.
