    I have the following JavaScript JSON array of real estate home objects: var json = { 'homes' : [ { "home_id":"1", "price":"925", "sqft":"1100", "num_of_beds":"2", "num_of_baths":"2.0", }, { "home_id":"2", "price":"1425", "sqft":"1900", "num_of_beds":"4", "num_of_baths":"2.5", }, // ... (more homes) ... ]} var xmlhttp = eval('(' + json + ')'); homes = xmlhttp.homes; What I would like to do is be able to perform a filter on the object to return a subset of "home" objects. For example, I want to be able to filter based on: price, sqft, num_of_beds, and num_of_baths. Question: How can I perform something in javascript like the pseudo-code below: var newArray = homes.filter( price <= 1000 & sqft >= 500 & num_of_beds >=2 & num_of_baths >= 2.5); Note, the syntax does not have to be exactly like above.     I am working on a simple news module. There is a form where user adds multiple image IDs to one textbox then submits it. To improve the usability, I listed all the images they can add (ID numbers displayed next to it) on one side. However, this still is little bit confusing. I want image IDs added/deleted to the textbox when user clicks on the images. Spare me codes, methods, ideas, examples... I will take anything.

    I have the following link. On click, I'd like to check the item.primary_company field and if populated, give the user a warning and ask if they would like to continue.   • Dynamically change embedded video src in IE/Chrome (works in Firefox)

    I'm trying to dynamically change an embedded video on a page. It's working in Firefox but for some reason it's not working in IE and Chrome (strange combination). I don't know which phoneGap event to catch just before application shut-down so I can make sure data is saved before shutdown completes. Base on suggestion from naughtur, I tried both unload and beforeunload events, neither of them got fired during app shutdown.     if I have 4 variables startTime; endTime; startMerid; endMerid; startMarid and endMarid are either going to be 'AM' or 'PM'. but startTime and endTime are going to be strings like 'dd:dd' so it may be start:12:30 PM and end:5:30 PM How can I validate that the end time is not before the start time?   • New Site : Showing first time visitors what the site offers

    The site I'm working on, is almost completed. I have a Demo page created as well, where people can try out the product. However for first time visitors to understand what service the site actually provides I'm brainstorming with the following ideas. Since a lot of folks have been through this a number of time, would like to get some advice on what they use and what generally works. Here is what I came up with - 1.) Plain Slideshow, showing various features. (Using jQquery, hence figuring out a simple BUT professional looking plugin).Simplest to implement. 2.) Flash - Will have to hire someone. 3.) JellyVision ? - I'm not sure if this is free though. But something free like this would be great !

  • Prevent hash navigation url

    I have the following problem: I'm using a slider (coda) to let people navigate trough some 'pages'. The slider uses hash links to navigate to the next page/slide. If a user is at page one (#page1), there is a link which will lead the user to page 2 (#page2) and so on. At the top of the slider the numbers of the pages appear as a link, but only when the page is visited. So if there are six pages and the user navigates from the first to the second and then the third one, there are only three links at the top of the slider (to page one, two and three). The problem is that a user can navigate to page five (or any page actually) without first visiting the pages previous to page five by just using the hash URL and typing the whole link in their address bar. For example if I would type www.mydomain.com/slider/index.php#page5 the slider automatically navigates to the fifth slide/page of the slider and thereby skipping the first four. I want to allow users to navigate to #page5 only if they have visited the first four (So by clicking trough the slides). This means that if they would go to #page5 directly by typing the URL in the address bar, I would like them to be send to the first page (#page1). Does anyone have any idea on solving this?

When the user clicks on mail i would like to have the download for which he opted to download. If msi means i would like to prompt msi file to be downloaded and if zip it should be downloaded I need this to be worked with out using query-string

So it got me thinking can I somehow set it in my project to always take my "development scripts" and minify them automatically. Right now if I make a change to my script I have to remember to minify it once I am done otherwise I could be using a out to day version. So it would be cool if I could just set up like so when I build it takes all my development scripts and then minifys them. How could I do something like this?

    I want to trigger event just right after I stop typing (not while typing) characters in my input textbox. On this fiddle I demonstrate the same problem with a simple alert instead of an AJAX. Is there a solution for this or I'm just using a bad approach for this?

Please note that the search term is treated as a single string as if the words are in a quote, so I cannot search and highlight each word individually.

A calculation is performed to return their distance from the users current location based on the latitude/longitude. I would like to return only the record with the shortest calculated distance. Also is there a way I can send the tags to a "class" attribute instead of "name". It seems to not work in Safari.
