how to create multiple selections in text edit box in qt4?

Qt3.3 used to allow for multiple selections in the QTextEdit widget by calling the setSelection() function and specifying a different selection id (selNum) as the last argument in that function. In Qt4, to create a selection, I do it by creating a QTextCursor object and call the setPosition() or movePosition() methods. I have no problems being able to create a single selection of text. I am, however, unable to find a way to create multiple selections. The methods in Qt4 do not have an argument which allows you to set a selection id, nor can i find any other function in the QTextCursor or QTextEdit which looks like it might allow me to do so. Has this feature been completely removed from Qt4? or has is there a new and different way of doing it? Thanks. Ronny

so I'm new to this site, and new to jquery, and javascript as a whole really, but I have very good comprehension of HTML and CSS. For a class in school, I'm making a photo gallery webpage using the Shadowbox plugin. I have that part all down, but one of the requirements is to add some sort of user option that the user can change that will get saved in a cookie. (I haven't gotten to the cookie part yet) For my option, I decided to add a toggle that will switch the view of the page from a grid view (default) with images, to a list view of just the captions of the images. I figured out how to do that, but decided it could probably done in a much simpler fashion with the use of loops. Callback from static library

I think this should be simple, but im having a real hard time finding information about this topic. I have made a static library and have no problem getting the basics to work. But im having a hard time figuring out how to make a call back from the static library to the main APP. I would like my static library to only use one header as front, this header should contain functions like: requestImage:(NSString *)path; requestLikstOfSomething:(NSSting *)guid; and so on.. These functions should do the necessary work and start a async NSURLConnection, and call back to the main application when the call have finished. How do you guys do this, what are the best ways to callback from a static library when a async method is finished? should i do this with delegates (is this possible), notifications, key/value observers. I really want to know how you guys have solved this, and what you regard as the best practices. Im going to have 20-25 different calls so i want the static library header file to be as simple as possible preferable only with a list of the 20-25 functions. UPDATE: My question is not how to use delegate pattern, but witch way is the best to do callbacks from static librarys. I would like to use delegates but i dont want to have 20-25 protocol declarations in the public header file. I would prefer to have only one function for each request. Thanks in advance. iPhone Development - calling external JSON API (will Apple reject?)

Ok guys, so im new to iPhone development, so apologies if this is a silly question, but before i actually create my app i want to know if this is possible, and if Apple will reject this. (Note this is all theoretical) So i'd have a API (.NET) that runs on a cloud server somewhere and can return HTML/JSON/XML. I'll have a website that can access this API and allow customers to do some stuff (but this is not important for this question). I would then like my iPhone app to make a call to this API which would return JSON data. So my iPhone app might make a call to http://myapp/Foos which would return a JSON string of Foo objects. The iPhone app would then parse this JSON and do some funky stuff with it. So, that's the background, now the questions: Is this possible? (that is, call an external cloud API over HTTP, parse JSON response?) What are the chances of Apple rejecting this application (because it would be calling a non-Apple API) Are there any limitations (security, libraries, etc) on the iPhone/Objective-C/Cocoa that might hinder this solution? On this website, they seem to be doing exactly what im asking. Thoughts, suggestions, links would be greatly appreciated...

Problem with detecting phone orientation change in Symbian/Qt

I want to do some custom processing when the orientation of the phone changes. I have re-implemented the resizeEvent(QResizeEvent*) virtual function in my class. The strange thing is, for the first one time when the phone orientation is changed, this function is actually called, and works fine. But all subsequent orientation changes, this function isn't even called? Why does this happen? Are there any other ways to detect phone orientation change? Thanks.

Hello, I'm trying to implement "hand draw tool". At the moment algorythm looks like that (I don't insert any code because methods are quite big, will try to explain an idea): Drawing In touchesStarted: method I create NSMutableArray *pointsArray and add point into it. Call setNeedsDisplay: method. In touchesMoved: method I calculate points between last added point from the pointsArray and current point. Add all points to the pointsArray. Call setNeedsDisplay: method. In touchesFinished: event I calculate points between last added point from the array and current point. Set flag touchesWereFinished. Call setNeedsDisplay:. Render: drawRect: method checks is pointsArray != nil and is there any data in it. If there is - it starts to traw circles in each point of this array. If flag touchesWereFinished is set - save current context to the UIImage, release pointsArray, set it to nil and reset the flag. There are a lot disadvantages of this method: It is slow It becomes extremely slow when user touches and move finger for long time. Array becomes enormous "Lines" composed by circles are ugly I would like to change my algorithm to make it bit faster and line smoother. Calling into a saved java object via JNI from a different thread

I have a java object which calls into a C++ shared object via JNI. In C++, I am saving a reference to the JNIEnv and jObject. I've been following various solutions I have found on the net and on here and it seems it is more difficult than anticipated. I have tried various solutions and using KSoap2 seems to be the easiest way to implement this, well it would be if I could get it working. How to mark a method as "ignore all handled exception" + "step through"? Even when user has selected

I want to mark a method as "debug step through" even if an exception is thrown (and catched within) the function. This is because 99% of the times I know this function will throw an exception (Assembly.GetTypes), and since this function is in a library I wish to hide this normal exception. (Why did MS not add an exceptionless GetTypes() call?) Basically if a person clicks the button and this action happens I dont want them to click and run this action again for another 5 seconds. I looked at delay() to unbind the click for this then bind it again but once it unbinded it never allowed me to click the button anymore.

Connecting data to a GUI - OOP

I have an application with several graphs and tables on it. I worked fast and just made classes like Graph and Table that each contained a request object (pseudo-code): class Graph { private request; public function setDateRange(dateRange) { request.setDateRange(dateRange); } public function refresh() { request.getData(function() { //refresh the display }); } } Upon a GUI event (say, someone changes the date range dropdown), I'd just call the setters on the Graph instance and then refresh it. Well, when I added other GUI elements like tables and whatnot, they all basically had similar methods (setDateRange and other things common to the request). What are some more elegant OOP ways of doing this? The application is very simple and I don't want to over-architect it, but I also don't want to have a bunch of classes with basically the same methods that are just routing to a request object. I also don't want to set up each GUI class as inheriting from the request class, but I'm open to any ideas really.

Anyone knows what's wrong? EDIT: Alright, so I got the IL working now. The entire goal of this was to be able to call a private constructor. The private constructor takes a pointer so I can't use normal reflection. Now.. When I call it, I get an exception saying Attempt by method <built method> to access method <private constructor> failed. Apparently it's performing security checks - but from experience I know that Reflection is able to do private stuff like this normally, so hopefully there is a way to disable that check?

I am using clojure.contrib.sql to fetch some records from an SQLite database. (defn read-all-foo [] (let [sql "select * from foo"] (with-connection *db* (with-query-results res [sql] (into [] res))))) Now, I don't really want to realize the whole sequence before returning from the function (i.e. I want to keep it lazy), but if I return res directly or wrap it some kind of lazy wrapper (for example I want to make a certain map transformation on result sequence), SQL bindings will be gone after I return, so realizing the sequence will throw an error. How can I enclose the whole function in a closure and return a kind of anonymous iterator block (like yield in C# or Python)? Or is there another way to return a lazy sequence from this function?

Interrupting `while loop` with keyboard in Cython

I want to be able to interrupt a long function with cython, using the usual CTRL+C interrupt command. My C++ long function is repeatedly called inside a while loop from Cython code, but I want to be able, during the loop, to send an "interrupt" and block the while loop. The interrupt also should wait the longFunction() to finish, so that no data are lost or kept in unknown status. Passing session between jsf backing bean and model

Background : I am having backing bean which has upload method that listen when file is uploaded. Now I pass this file to parser and in parser am doing validation check for row present in csv file. If validation fails, I have to log information and saving in logging table in database. My end goal : Is to get session information in logging bean so that I can get initialContext and make call to ejb to save data to database. What is happening : In my upload backing bean, am getting session but when i call parser, I do not pass session information as I do not want parser to be dependent on session as I want to unit test parser individually. So in my parser, I do not have session information, from parser am making call to logging bean(just a bean with some ejb methods) but in this logging bean, i need session because i need to get initial context. Question Is there a way in JSF, that I can get the session in my logging bean that I have in my upload backing bean? I tried doing: FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); HttpSession session = (HttpSession) ctx.getExternalContext().getSession(false); but session value was null, more generic question would be : How can I get session information in model bean or other beans that are referenced from backing beans in which we have session?
