how powerful is Bluetooth programming on Android? is it possible to add new protocols and encryption techniques? or even change in the current protocols? does it support bluetooth 2.1+EDR?
I apologize if this is a subjective or repeated question. It's sort of awkward to search for, so I wasn't sure what terms to include.
What I'd like to know is what the basic foundation tools/functions are in C when you don't include standard libraries like stdio and stdlib.
What could I do if there's no printf(), fopen(), etc?
Also, are those libraries technically part of the "C" language, or are they just very useful and effectively essential libraries?
I am trying to write a pre-qualification programming exam, hopefully using Google Forms... however they seem to be unable to do new-lines in both the questions and the section headers...
My current format is new page for each question, with a "section header" as the main question (because it has a textarea for the "code snippet") and a "multiple choice question" as the ummm... question answer...
Help much appreciated...
For the longest time I've been curious to code in Intermediate Language just as an academic endeavour and to gain a better understanding of what's "happening under the hood".
Is there any sort of Visual Studio support for this in the form of: project templates, IntelliSense integration, and those kind of RAD features?
I want show an information page after success db opartions. And after the info I want to close each pages (information page and main page)
I wrote this in button oncommand event:
//but this code does not work
Response.Write("<script language='javascript'>setTimeout('self.close();',3000);</script>");
at the same time, I want to show an information message. And then I want to close all, after three seconds.I hope I could explain :)
Thanks.
Hey guys,
We're getting a QA for the first time in our project. We're not sure how to best use him.
We work in an Agile environment. Pair programming, user stories, short sprints (two weeks), daily stand-ups, retrospectives, planning meetings, quick releases etc.
One obviously way to use a tester is to verify bugs fixes and user stories every sprint. Are there any better ways for an Agile team to utilize a tester.
Thanks,
Sri
We have following code:
try {
// some code throwing MyException
} catch (MyException ex) {
// [1]
// no (re)throw here
} catch (Exception ex) {
if (ex is MyException) {
// [2]
}
}
If we run the code without a debugger attached, everything runs fine. However, IF we debug the code, we don't get to point [1] but [2]. As far as I understand the language specification this should not be possible.
Even weirder, this code used run fine even while debugging. The strange behavior started only a few days ago.
Ever since I started programming this has been something I have been curious about. But seems too complicated for me to even attempt.
I'd love to see a solution.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 // returns 6 (n + 1)
10, 20, 30, 40, 50 //returns 60 (n + 10)
10, 17, 31, 59, 115 //returns 227 ((n * 2) - 3)
Can any one explain how are the concepts of process and threads implemented in Linux kernel ? I am looking for an intuitive explanation with some C snippets ( and important data structures) that clearly distinguishes between the two. I am just looking for the key implementation ideas I should get hold off. Essentially, I want to understand them and implement something similar in an embedded target (not supporte by any OS) in C language.
What is the most painful programming mistake you have done and what lesson you have learn after?
I guess mine was making a release to production on the development code which was not tested yet.
The lesson-learned:
Delete any projects that can trigger a
release on the live application from
CCTray. I only add them when a release
to production is necessary since then.
And once I am done, I delete them from
my project lists.
Does anyone could tell something about these file? As I know:
1. Common-Lisp and Scheme are both some lisp programming langue.
2. common-Lisp source file *.lisp can be compiled into binary file *.fasl which can be load faster than the source file.
Q:Can the Scheme source code *.scm be compiled into some binary file that will be load faster than the source code?
Thanks in advance
joe
I have a container that contains an image that I need to drag from one container to the other. The Flex language references don't specify anything useful, nor did I find a tutorial for how to do this. How do I manually add drag and drop support for elements like images? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have read about partial methods in the latest C# language specification, so I understand the principles, but I'm wondering how people are actually using them. Is there a particular design pattern that benefits from partial methods?
Buttons in flex can be pressed with the space key, but a client would like to press enter instead of space. This can be achieved by programming each button, but it would be very time consuming.
Does anyone have an idea how to do this in the less amount of time?
thanks.
Is it practically possible to create a triangle of stars like this as below in SQL.I know that this could be done easily in any other programminglanguage like C,C++,Java but want to know whether it is really possible with just SQL or PL/SQL.I tried working on it with dual table in Oracle but couldn't get through it.

Can someone please shed somelight if anyone knows about it.
I installed unbuntu on virtualbox. The problem I have is that the settings don't get saved. Everytime I restart the server, it takes me to the main menu. (language settings etc)
I don't want to take the time to learn Obj-C. I've spent 7+ years doing web application programming. Shouldn't there be a way to use the WebView and just write the whole app in javascript, pulling the files right from the resources of the project?
Hi there.
Once I read an MSDN article that encouraged the following programming paradigm:
public class MyClass
{
public void Method1()
{
NewCustomException();
}
public void Method2()
{
NewCustomException();
}
void NewCustomException()
{
throw new CustomException("Exception message");
}
}
Do you think this paradigm makes sense? Wouldn't it be enough to store the exception message in a static const field and then pass it to the exception's constructor, instead of encapsulating the whole exception throw?
I am very new to iPhone programming and I was wondering how could I create a separate section for my application in the Settings.app? Like what the Facebook or BeejiveIM or JellyCar apps do. Would I have to declare this dynamically, or could I use Interface Builder?
I have a background in python and I'm looking for a new language. I am almost only intrested in making games.
I have come to 2 languages. C# and Action Script.
C# because Microsoft allows you to make Indie XBLA games programmed in C# ONLY.
Action Script so I can make flash games for new grounds and ect.
What do you think is better to learn in the long run?
Hi, I am trying to highlight a custom language in TextMate. However, the following definition does not highlight PHP insertions:
{ scopeName = 'source.serpent';
fileTypes = ( 'serpent' );
patterns = (
{ begin = '<\?';
end = '\?>';
patterns = ( { include = 'source.php'; } );
},
);
}
What can be the reason? Should it work?
I'm a blind student currently in a system admin/shell programming class. Although ssh works fine for executing commands like ls, pwd, etc editors do not work well with my screen reader and an ssh session. I was wondering if it is possible to mount a Linux folder over ssh so it appears as a windows drive? This way I could edit any files I needed to with accessible software and not have to constantly use SCP to send files back and fourth.
For many questions, especially for C-related ones, the answer seems to be found in "the standard". However, where do we find that - online?
Googling can sometimes feel futile, again especially for the C standards, since they are drowned in the flood of discussions on programming forums ;)
To get this started, since these are the ones I am searching for right now, where are there good online resources for:
C89
C99
C++03
Hi,
Does anyone know a good way to debug errors in the Visual Studio Designer?
In our project we have tons of UserControls and many complex forms.
For the complex ones, the Designer often throws various exceptions which
doesn't help much and was wondering if there's some nice way to figure out
what has gone wrong.
The language is C# and we're using Visual Studio 2005.
Thanks,
Daisuke
