  • how to retrieve data from db and display it in list?

    - by raji
    In the below code I am passing catID to db.getNews(catID) super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.newslist); Bundle extras = getIntent().getExtras(); int catID = extras.getInt("cat_id"); mInflater = (LayoutInflater)getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); final ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.category); lv.setAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.newslist, db.getNews(catID)){ public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { View row; if (null == convertView) { row = mInflater.inflate(R.layout.newslist, null); } else { row = convertView; } TextView tv = (TextView) row.findViewById(R.id.newslist_text); tv.setText(getItem(position)); return row; } }); the getnews(int catid) function is below: public NewsItemCursor getNews(int catID) { String sql = "SELECT title FROM news WHERE catid = " + catID + " ORDER BY id ASC"; SQLiteDatabase d = getReadableDatabase(); NewsItemCursor c = (NewsItemCursor) d.rawQueryWithFactory( new NewsItemCursor.Factory(), sql, null, null); c.moveToFirst(); d.close(); return c; } But I'm getting bug as array adapter undefined... Can anyone help me to resolve this, and retrieve data to make it display in list.

  • (iphone) How to access CGRect member variable inside c++ class?

    - by Eugene
    i have a c++ class with CGrect variable and i'm getting segfault when trying to access it. class Parent { //with some virtual functions/dtors }; class Child { public: void SetRect(CGRect rect) { mRect = rect; } CGRect GetRect() { return mRect; } int GetIndex() { return mIndex; } private: CGRect mRect; int mIndex; }; i'm doing CGRect rect = childPtr->GetRect(); from object c code and it segfaults. I printed *childPtr just before the call and rect looks fine with intended data value. int index = childPtr->GetIndex(); from same object c code(*.mm), works fine though. Any idea why I'm getting segfaults? Thank you edit - It's got something to do with virtual functions. (gdb) p singlePuzzlePiece-GetRect() Program received signal EXC_BAD_ACCESS, Could not access memory. Reason: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at address: 0x00000001 0x00000001 in ?? • 20 lines of code you're working on right now [closed]

    Out of sheer curiosity. Hope none of you NDAs are violated or whatever. Here are mine. I'm currently refactoring a massively coupled webapp. As it usually is, no comments and no documentation whatsoever. if (paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.InAgency ) { EmailController.SendBookingCreateEmails(booking); this.DC.SubmitChanges(); return RedirectToAction("Result", new { id = booking.Id }); } else if (paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.CreditCard) { return RedirectToAction("Pay", new { id = booking.Id }); } else if(paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.MostravelBank || paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.MostravelCallback || paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.MostravelCardCredit || paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.MostravelCourierCash || paymentMethod == PaymentMethod.MostravelCourierPlasticCard) { isExclusive = true; Log.TraceInformation("Started booking for Mostravel.   • Access problem with NSMutableArray

    - by pbcoder
    Hi, my problem is that I can't access my NSMutableArray in - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {}. I create my NSMutableArray here: nodes = [xmlDoc nodesForXPath:@"/xml/items/item/short_desc" error:nil]; if (nodes != nil && [nodes count] >= 1) { for (int i = 0; i < [nodes count]; i++) { CXMLElement *resultElement = [nodes objectAtIndex:i]; result = [[[[resultElement attributeForName:@"data"] stringValue] copy] autorelease]; [short_desc addObject:result]; } } and I can print out the content of short_desc everywhere with: NSLog([short_desc objectAtIndex:0]); but not in: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { ..... NSString *date = [name objectAtIndex:0]; labelDate.text = date; ..... return cell;} if I use: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { ..... NSString *date = @"text..."; labelDate.text = date; ..... return cell;} it works correctly. ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM???

  • Query table value aliasing in Oracle SQL

    - by Strata
    I have a homework assignment in SQL for Oracle 10g where I have to apply union to two different select statements, to return two columns. I need the values of each cell under vendor_state to indicate CA and every other value in another state to return "Outside CA", to indicate they're elsewhere. I applied the union and produced the two columns and the listings for CA, but many other state IDs were listed and I couldn't find an explanation for how to change the actual values in the query itself. Eventually, I stumbled on an answer, but I can't explain why this works. The code is as follows: SELECT vendor_name, vendor_state FROM vendors WHERE vendor_state IN 'CA' UNION SELECT vendor_name, 'Outside CA' AS vendor_state FROM vendors WHERE vendor_state NOT IN 'CA' ORDER BY vendor_name This gives me the exact answer I need, but I don't know why the aliasing in the second select statement can behave this way....no explanation is given in my textbook and nothing I've read indicates that column aliasing can be done like this. But, by switching the column name and the alias value, I have replaced the value being returned rather than the column name itself...I'm not complaining about the result, but it would help if I knew how I did it.

  • Second user-defined function returns garbage value?

    - by mintyfresh
    I have been teaching myself C programming, and I've come to a difficult point with using variables across functions. When, I compile this program and run it, the function askBirthYear returns the correct value, but sayAgeInYears returns either 0 or a garbage value. I believe it has something to do with how I used the variable birthYear, but I'm stumped on how to fix the issue. Here is the code: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> int askBirthYear(int); void sayAgeInYears(int); int birthYear; int main(void) { askBirthYear(birthYear); sayAgeInYears(birthYear); return EXIT_SUCCESS; } void askBirthYear(int birthYear) { printf("Hello! In what year were you born?\n"); scanf("%d", &birthYear); printf("Your birth year is %d.\n", birthYear); return birthYear; } void sayAgeInYears(int birthYear) { int age; age = 2012 - birthYear; printf("You are %d years old.\n", age); }

  • Reverse wildcard search in codeigniter

    - by Andy Platt
    I am implementing a snippet-based content management system into my current project. Snippets can be associated with a page either by exact match of the full url falling back to a wildcard match on a partial url or finally a default snippet. To implement this I have a created table of page associations with a wildcard flag, the system first checks the current url against the non-wildcard associations and if it doesn't find a match it checks against the partial url's where the wildcard flag is set. In order to achieve this I am getting all the partial url's from the database and putting them into an array then walking the array to check for a match against the current url: protected function _check_wildcard($url = NULL) { if($url) { $q = $this->db->where('wildcard' ,'Y') ->from('content') ->get(); $wildcards = $q->result_array(); foreach($wildcards AS $wildcard) { if(strpos($url,$wildcard['url']) > 0) { return $wildcard['snipppet_id']; } } } else { return NULL; } } Can anyone suggest a better way to do this - preferably one that doesn't involve having to constantly download the full list of all the wildcards each time I load a page as I am afraid that this will have a negative effect on the scalability of the system down the line?

  • Flash Builder 4 "includeIn" property causing design view error

    - by Chris
    I am creating a custom TextInput component that will define an "error" state. I have extended the TextInput class to change the state to "error" if the errorString property's length is greater than 0. In the skin class, I have defined an "error" state, and added some logic to detect the size and position of the error icon. However, if I have this code at the same time I use the "includeIn" property in the bitmap image tag, I get a design view error. If I either A) Only include that code with no "includeIn" property set, it works or B) dont include the code to set the icon size and position and only use the "includeIn" property, it works. Any ideas what could be causing the design view problem when I use both the "includeIn" property and the icon size/position code at the same time? TextInput Class: package classes { import spark.components.TextInput; public class TextInput extends spark.components.TextInput { [SkinState("error")]; public function TextInput() { super(); } override public function set errorString( value:String ):void { super.errorString = value; invalidateSkinState(); } override protected function getCurrentSkinState():String { if (errorString.length>0) { return "error"; } return super.getCurrentSkinState(); } } } TextInput Skin File: override protected function updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth:Number, unscaledHeight:Number):void { //THIS IS THE CODE THAT SEEMS TO BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM if(getStyle("iconSize") == "large") { errorIcon.right = -12; errorIcon.source = new errorIconLg(); } else { errorIcon.right = -5; errorIcon.source = new errorIconSm(); } super.updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight); } </fx:Script> <s:states> <s:State name="normal"/> <s:State name="disabled"/> <s:State name="error"/> </s:states> //If I remove the problem code above or if I take out the includeIn //property here, it works <s:BitmapImage id="errorIcon" verticalCenter="0" includeIn="error" /> </s:SparkSkin>

  • Python OOP - object has no attribute

    - by user1744269
    I am attempting to learn how to program. I really do want to learn how to program; I love the building and design aspect of it. However, in Java and Python, I have tried and failed with programs as they pertain to objects, classes, methods.. I am trying to develop some code for a program, but im stumped. I know this is a simple error. However I am lost! I am hoping someone can guide me to a working program, but also help me learn (criticism is not only expected, but APPRECIATED). class Converter: def cTOf(self, numFrom): numFrom = self.numFrom numTo = (self.numFrom * (9/5)) + 32 print (str(numTo) + ' degrees Farenheit') return numTo def fTOc(self, numFrom): numFrom = self.numFrom numTo = ((numFrom - 32) * (5/9)) return numTo convert = Converter() numFrom = (float(input('Enter a number to convert.. '))) unitFrom = input('What unit would you like to convert from.. ') unitTo = input('What unit would you like to convert to.. ') if unitFrom == ('celcius'): convert.cTOf(numFrom) print(numTo) input('Please hit enter..') if unitFrom == ('farenheit'): convert.fTOc(numFrom) print(numTo) input('Please hit enter..')

  • XNA, C# - Check if a Vector2 path crosses another Vector2 path.

    - by Nick
    Hello all, I have an XNA question for those with more experience in these matters than myself (maths). Background: I have a game that implements a boundary class, this simply hosts 2 Vector2 objects, a start and an end point. The current implementation crudely handles collision detection by assuming boundaries are always vertical or horizontal, i.e. if start.x and end.x are the same check I am not trying to pass x etc. Ideally what I would like to implement is a method that accepts two Vector2 parameters. The first being a current location, the second being a requested location (where I would like to move it to assuming no objections). The method would also accept a boundary object. What the method should then do is tell me if I am going to cross the boundry in this move. this could be a bool or ideally something representing how far I can actually move. This empty method might explain better than I can in words. /// <summary> /// Checks the move. /// </summary> /// <param name="current">The current.</param> /// <param name="requested">The requested.</param> /// <param name="boundry">The boundry.</param> /// <returns></returns> public bool CheckMove(Vector2 current, Vector2 requested, Boundry boundry) { //return a bool that indicated if the suggested move will cross the boundry. return true; }

  • Class Inside Structure

    - by Knvn
    Could some one please explain, What happens when a reference type is defined inside the value type. I write the following code: namespace ClassInsideStruct { class ClassInsideStruct { static void Main(string[] args) { ValueType ObjVal = new ValueType(10); ObjVal.Display(); ValueType.ReferenceType ObjValRef = new ValueType.ReferenceType(10); ObjValRef.Display(); Test(ObjVal, ObjValRef); ObjVal.Display(); ObjValRef.Display(); Console.ReadKey(); } private static void Test(ValueType v, ValueType.ReferenceType r) { v.SValue = 50; r.RValue = 50; } } struct ValueType { int StructNum; ReferenceType ObjRef; public ValueType(int i) { StructNum = i; ObjRef = new ReferenceType(i); } public int SValue { get { return StructNum; } set { StructNum = value; ObjRef.RValue = value; } } public void Display() { Console.WriteLine("ValueType: " + StructNum); Console.Write("ReferenceType Inside ValueType Instance: "); ObjRef.Display(); } public class ReferenceType { int ClassNum; public ReferenceType(int i) { ClassNum = i; } public void Display() { Console.WriteLine("Reference Type: " + ClassNum); } public int RValue { get { return ClassNum; } set { ClassNum = value; } } } } } Which outputs: ValueType: 10 ReferenceType Inside ValueType Instance: Reference Type: 10 Reference Type: 10 ValueType: 10 ReferenceType Inside ValueType Instance: Reference Type: 50 Reference Type: 50 I'm curious to know, after calling the method Test(ObjVal, ObjValRef), how the values of ReferenceType is changed to 50 which resides inside the ValueType who's value is not changed?

  • Create table class as a singleton

    - by Mark
    I got a class that I use as a table. This class got an array of 16 row classes. These row classes all have 6 double variables. The values of these rows are set once and never change. Would it be a good practice to make this table a singleton? The advantage is that it cost less memory, but the table will be called from multiple threads so I have to synchronize my code which way cause a bit slower application. However lookups in this table are probably a very small portion of the total code that is executed. EDIT: This is my code, are there better ways to do this or is this a good practice? Removed synchronized keyword according to recommendations in this question. final class HalfTimeTable { private HalfTimeRow[] table = new HalfTimeRow[16]; private static final HalfTimeTable instance = new HalfTimeTable(); private HalfTimeTable() { if (instance != null) { throw new IllegalStateException("Already instantiated"); } table[0] = new HalfTimeRow(4.0, 1.2599, 0.5050, 1.5, 1.7435, 0.1911); table[1] = new HalfTimeRow(8.0, 1.0000, 0.6514, 3.0, 1.3838, 0.4295); //etc } @Override @Deprecated public Object clone() throws CloneNotSupportedException { throw new CloneNotSupportedException(); } public static HalfTimeTable getInstance() { return instance; } public HalfTimeRow getRow(int rownumber) { return table[rownumber]; } }

  • What's wrong (or right) with this JS Object Pattern?

    - by unsane1
    Here's an example of the pattern I'm using in my javascript objects these days (this example relies on jQuery). http://pastie.org/private/ryn0m1gnjsxdos9onsyxg It works for me reasonably well, but I'm guessing there's something wrong, or at least sub-optimal about it, I'm just curious to get people's opinions. Here's a smaller, inline example of it: sample = function(attach) { // set internal reference to self var self = this; // public variable(s) self.iAmPublic = true; // private variable(s) var debug = false; var host = attach; var pane = { element: false, display: false } // public function(s) self.show = function() { if (!pane.display) { position(); $(pane.element).show('fast'); pane.display = true; } } self.hide = function() { if (pane.display) { $(pane.element).hide('fast'); pane.display = false; } } // private function(s) function init () { // do whatever stuff is needed on instantiation of this object // like perhaps positioning a hidden div pane.element = document.createElement('div'); return self; } function position() { var h = { 'h': $(host).outerHeight(), 'w': $(host).outerWidth(), 'pos': $(host).offset() }; var p = { 'w': $(pane.element).outerWidth() }; $(pane.element).css({ top: h.pos.top + (h.h-1), left: h.pos.left + ((h.w - p.w) / 2) }); } function log () { if (debug) { console.log(arguments); } } // on-instantiation let's set ourselves up return init(); } I'm really curious to get people's thoughts on this.

  • Share variable across site ASP.NET

    I have a class isSearching with a single boolean property in a 'functions' file in my webapp. On my search page, I have a variable oSearchHandler declared as a Public Shared variable. • why does vector.size() read in one line too little?

    when running the following code, the amount of lines will read on less then there actually is (if the input file is main itself, or otherwise) why is this and how can i change that fact (besides for just adding 1)? #include <fstream> #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <vector> using namespace std; int main() { // open text file for input string file_name; cout << "please enter file name: "; cin >> file_name; // associate the input file stream with a text file ifstream infile(file_name.c_str()); // error checking for a valid filename if ( !infile ) { cerr << "Unable to open file " << file_name << " -- quitting!\n"; return( -1 ); } else cout << "\n"; // some data structures to perform the function vector<string> lines_of_text; string textline; // read in text file, line by line while (getline( infile, textline, '\n' )) { // add the new element to the vector lines_of_text.push_back( textline ); // print the 'back' vector element - see the STL documentation cout << "line read: " << lines_of_text.back() << "\n"; } cout<<lines_of_text.size(); return 0; }

  • SQL Server 2008 - Update a temporary table

    - by user336786
    Hello, I have stored procedure in which I am trying to retrieve the last ticket completed by each user listed in a comma-delimited string of usernames. The user may not have a ticket associated with them, in this case I know that i just need to return null. The two tables that I am working with are defined as follows: User ---- UserName, FirstName, LastName Ticket ------ ID, CompletionDateTime, AssignedTo, AssignmentDate, StatusID TicketStatus ------------ ID, Comments I have created a stored procedure in which I am trying to return the last completed ticket for a comma-delimited list of usernames. Each record needs to include the comments associated with it. Currently, I'm trying the following: CREATE TABLE #Tickets ( [UserName] nvarchar(256), [FirstName] nvarchar(256), [LastName] nvarchar(256), [TicketID] int, [DateCompleted] datetime, [Comments] text ) -- This variable is actually passed into the procedure DECLARE @userList NVARCHAR(max) SET @userList='user1,user2,user2' -- Obtain the user information for each user INSERT INTO #Tickets ( [UserName], [FirstName], [LastName] ) SELECT u.[UserName], u.[FirstName], u.[LastName] FROM User u INNER JOIN dbo.ConvertCsvToTable(@userList) l ON u.UserName=l.item At this point, I have the username, first and last name for each user passed in. However, I do not know how to actually get the last ticket completed for each of these users. How do I do this? I believe I should be updating the temp table I have created. At the same time, id do not know how to get just the last record in an update statement. Thank you!

  • C# InternalsVisibleTo() attribute for VBNET 2.0 while testing?

    - by Will Marcouiller
    I'm building an Active Directory wrapper in VBNET 2.0 (can't use later .NET) in which I have the following: IUtilisateur IGroupe IUniteOrganisation These interfaces are implemented in internal classes (Friend in VBNET), so that I want to implement a façade in order to instiate each of the interfaces with their internal classes. This will allow the architecture a better flexibility, etc. Now, I want to test these classes (Utilisateur, Groupe, UniteOrganisation) in a different project within the same solution. However, these classes are internal. I would like to be able to instantiate them without going through my façade, but only for these tests, nothing more. Here's a piece of code to illustrate it: public static class DirectoryFacade { public static IGroupe CreerGroupe() { return new Groupe(); } } // Then in code, I would write something alike: public partial class MainForm : Form { public MainForm() { IGroupe g = DirectoryFacade.CreerGroupe(); // Doing stuff with instance here... } } // My sample interface: public interface IGroupe { string Domaine { get; set; } IList<IUtilisateur> Membres { get; } } internal class Groupe : IGroupe { private IList<IUtilisateur> _membres; internal Groupe() { _membres = new List<IUtilisateur>(); } public string Domaine { get; set; } public IList<IUtilisateur> Membres { get { return _membres; } } } I heard of InternalsVisibleTo() attribute, recently. I was wondering whether it is available in VBNET 2.0/VS2005 so that I could access the assmebly's internal classes for my tests? Otherwise, how could I achieve this?

  • Linq based generic alternate to Predicate<T>?

    - by Eric
    I have an interface called ICatalog as shown below where each ICatalog has a name and a method that will return items based on a Predicate<Item> function. public interface ICatalog { string Name { get; } IEnumerable<IFamily> GetItems(Predicate<Item> predicate); } A specific implementation of a catalog may be linked to catalogs in various format such as XML, or a SQL database. With an XML catalog I end up deserializing the entire XML file into memory, so testing each item with the predicate function does does not add a whole lot more overhead as it's already in memory. Yet with the SQL implementation I'd rather not retrieve the entire contents of the database into memory, and then filter the items with the predicate function. Instead I'd want to find a way to somehow pass the predicate to the SQL server, or somehow convert it to a SQL query. This seems like a problem that can be solved with Linq, but I'm pretty new to it. Should my interface return IQueryable instead?

  • C++ Segmentation Fault when Iterating through a Vector

    - by user1790374
    I have a program that maintains an integer vector. I have three functions that add an integer, remove an integer and check whether an integer is already in the vector. The problem is with the last one. vector<int> children; void CtpTestingApplication::addChild(int child) { for (int i=0; i<children.size(); i++) { //already a child if (children[i]==child) return; } //child not yet recorded children.push_back(child); received.push_back(false); cout<<"added child "<<child; } void CtpTestingApplication::removeChild(int child) { Enter_Method("removeChild"); for (int i=0; i<children.size(); i++) { //already a child, remove it if (children[i]==child) { children.erase(children.begin()+i); received.erase(received.begin()+i); cout<<"removed child "<<child; } } //not recorded, no need to remove } bool CtpTestingApplication::isChild(int child) { Enter_Method("isChild"); vector<int>::iterator ic; bool result = false; for (ic= children.begin(); ic < children.end(); ic++) { cout<<*ic<<" vs "<<child; // if (child==*ic) result = true; } return result; } I always get segmentation fault when I uncomment "if (child==*ic)", even though printouts show that the vector is not empty and contains the expected integers. For example, with the if statements commented, I can see 1 vs 4, 2 vs 4, 4 vs 4, 12 vs 4 I also attempted looping using children[i] and so on, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

A[ j ] 11 else return j and my code public class Hoare { public static int partition(int a[],int p,int r) { int x=a[p]; int i=p-1; int j=r+1; while (true) { do { j=j-1; } while(a[j]>=x); do { i=i+1; } while(a[i]<=x); if (i<j) { int t=a[i]; a[i]=a[j]; a[j]=t; } else { return j; } } } public static void main(String[]args){ int a[]=new int[]{13,19,9,5,12,8,7,4,11,2,6,21}; partition(a,0,a.length-1); } } and mistake is this error: Class names, 'Hoare', are only accepted if annotation processing is explicitly requested 1 error any ideas

  • How to make a multi vector in C++

    - by Bob Dealio
    I was wondering why can't I have a multi vectors in C ++ /please take a look at this example, it's not working though. there are only two parts to the code, foo function to manipulate the vector and the main function to echo them. typedef vector< vector<double> > MyVec; MyVec foo() { MyVec v; for (int index=0; index < 2; index ++) { for (int j=0; j<5; j++) { v[index][j]; } } return v; } int main () { MyVec z = foo(); for (int i = 0; i < z.size(); i++) { cout << z[i][1]; } return 0; }

  • Remove the hash after Ajax loading (I'm ajaxing wordpress 8-) )

    - by Alberto
    Hi everybody, I followed this great tutorial to"ajax" my blog:http://www.deluxeblogtips.com/2010/05/how-to-ajaxify-wordpress-theme.html But it creates some problems and I think the problem is in the hash that ajax creates. So, after the content is loaded, how can I remove the hash from the url? I copy my code here: jQuery(document).ready(function($) { var $mainContent = $("#content"), siteUrl = "http://" + top.location.host.toString(), url = ''; $(document).delegate("a[href^='"+siteUrl+"']:not([href*=/wp-admin/]):not([href*=/wp-login.php]):not([href$=/feed/]):not([href*=/go.php]):not(.comment-reply-link)", "click", function() { location.hash = this.pathname; $('html, body').animate({scrollTop:0}, 'fast'); return false; }); $("#searchform").submit(function(e) { location.hash = '?s=' + $("#search").val(); e.preventDefault(); }); $(window).bind('hashchange', function(){ url = window.location.hash.substring(1); if (!url) { return; } url = url + " #inside"; $mainContent.html('<div id="loader">Caricamento in corso...</div>').load(url, function() { //$mainContent.animate({opacity: "1"}); scriptss(); }); }); $(window).trigger('hashchange'); }); Thank all very much!

  • Operator+ for a subtype of a template classe.

    - by baol
    I have a template class that defines a subtype. I'm trying to define the binary operator+ as a template function, but the compiler cannot resolve the template version of the operator+. #include <iostream> template<typename other_type> struct c { c(other_type v) : cs(v) {} struct subtype { subtype(other_type v) : val(v) {} other_type val; } cs; }; template<typename other_type> typename c<other_type>::subtype operator+(const typename c<other_type>::subtype& left, const typename c<other_type>::subtype& right) { return typename c<other_type>::subtype(left.val + right.val); } // This one works // c<a>::subtype operator+(const c<a>::subtype& left, // const c<a>::subtype& right) // { return c<a>::subtype(left.val + right.val); } int main() { c<int> c1 = 1; c<int> c2 = 2; c<int>::subtype cs3 = c1.cs + c2.cs; std::cerr << cs3.val << std::endl; } I think the reason is because the compiler (g++4.3) cannot guess the template type so it's searching for operator+<int> instead of operator+. What's the reason for that? What elegant solution can you suggest?
