Looking for a simple interface for users to enter data for Silverlight application

I have made a Silverlight application which can read data from various URLs. So users of the application who control a website can: FTP text and XML files onto their website put a clientaccesspolicy.xml in their root directory enter their URL in the silverlight application at which point the silverlight application then begins reading data from their site. I would like to extend this to less technical users who do not control a website, aren't adept with FTP, etc. What is the best service on the web that: allows users to publish different kinds of data, e.g. put out text files on web allows Silverlight client access (has clientaccesspolicy.xml set up) Some ideas are: free blog services (although then they are limited to a RSS feed, or the silverlight app would have to do some screen scraping) Google Docs? free cloud services? What free services allow easy publishing of any kind of data on the web and allow Silverlight client access?

Wordpress nav not visible in pages like articles, blog & search

Databinding int32 to MaskedEditExtender enabled TextBox

I have a master/detail scheme for editing an asp:GridView using an asp:DetailsView. One of my fields is for a phone number of type int64 (always 10 digits). I would like this field to always be displayed as (###)###-####. My issue is the first digit in the phone number is always truncated for my edit item field which I used a MaskedEditExtender to achieve the formatting. Here is my EditItemTemplate for the details view: <cc1:MaskedEditExtender TargetControlID="edtPROJ_Leader_Phone" Mask="(999)999-9999" runat="server" ClearMaskOnLostFocus="false" ClipboardEnabled="true" MaskType="Number" /> <asp:TextBox ID="edtPROJ_Leader_Phone" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("PROJ_Leader_Phone") %>' ></asp:TextBox> When my details view is displayed for editing, the text box displays(_23)456-7890 for the integer 1234567890. Also worth noting that if the property MaskType="Number" is removed, the textbox shows: (234)567-890_. I would of course have the textbox show (123)-546-67890 after binding.

extract payload from tcpflow output

Tcpflow outputs a bunch of files, many of which are HTTP responses from a web server. Inside, they contain HTTP headers, including Content-type: , and other important ones. I'm trying to write a script that can extract just the payload data (i.e. image/jpeg; text/html; et al.) and save it to a file [optional: with an appropriate name and file extension]. The EOL chars are \r\n (CRLF) and so this makes it difficult to use in GNU distros (in my experiences). I've been trying something along the lines of: sed /HTTP/,/^$/d To delete all text from the the beginning of HTTP (incl) to the end of \r\n\r\n (incl) but I have found no luck. I'm looking for help from anyone with good experience in sed and/or awk. I have zero experience with Perl, please I'd prefer to use common GNU command line utilities for this Find a sample tcpflow output file here. Thanks, Felipe

However, the output is: <input id="user_email" name="user[email]" placeholder="[email protected]" size="30" type="text" /> which should be: <input id="user_email" name="user[email]" placeholder="[email protected]" size="30" type="email" /> Is there a way to force Rails to use the email type instead of text, or must I use HTML directly? Now on the TextView this one is triggered correctly, and on all empty area. Just on the Button it doesn't invoke the onClick method that I set. Is this normal? What do I have to do so that the onClick method is invoked everywhere on the LinearLayout?

I currently have a web form aspx page that calls RegisterClientScriptBlock. This sends down message text that I use for client side validation e.g. <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ var c_errorMessages = { RequiredField : "* Mandatory field" }; //]]> </script> The values are generated on the server side based on culture and resource files. I believe you cannot use RegisterClientScriptBlock with MVC. Any ideas on how I can achieve this with MVC?

Extracting information from PDFs of research papers

I need a mechanism for extracting bibliographic metadata from PDF documents, to save people entering it by hand or cut-and-pasting it. At the very least, the title and abstract. The list of authors and their affiliations would be good. Extracting out the references would be amazing. Ideally this would be an open source solution. The problem is that not all PDF's encode the text, and many which do fail to preserve the logical order of the text, so just doing pdf2text gives you line 1 of column 1, line 1 of column 2, line 2 of column 1 etc. I know there's a lot of libraries. It's identifying the abstract, title authors etc. on the document that I need to solve. This is never going to be possible every time, but 80% would save a lot of human effort.

Why can't I input the integers from a file?

I'm trying to get this C++ code to input a series of numbers from a text file: int x = 0; cin >> x; ifstream iffer; int numbers[12]; iffer.open("input.txt"); for (int i = 0; i < 12; i++){ iffer >> numbers[i]; } This doesn't seem to work on the Mac. Every cell will equal to 0 regardless of the values in the text file. In other words, the ifstream isn't assigning the numbers. How can I make this work? How is the iPhone SMS compose view implemented?

Regarding the SMS compose view as show in the picture below: I have two questions: 1) How is the text entry box implemented? There are no standard control from the API and the box is smart enough to resize when you press enter OR when the text is too long. Also the bar resizes with it. How is this done with the least coding? 2) How to code it such that when the keyboard shows up the whole view shifts up? Typically when the keyboard shows, it goes over your current view.

Complex String Processing - well complex to me

I am calling a web service and all I get back is a giant blob of text. I am left to process it myself. Problem is not all lines are necessarily the same. They each have 2 or 3 sections to them and they are similar. Here are the most common examples text1 [text2] /text3/ text1/test3 text1[text2]/text3 text1 [text2] /text /3 here/ I am not exactly sure how to approach this problem. I am not too good at doing anything advanced as far as manipulating strings. I was thinking using a regular expression might work, but not too sure on that either. If I can get each of these 3 sections broken up it is easier from there to do the rest. its just there doesn't seem to be any uniformity to the main 3 sections that I know how to work with.

Now I want to implement voice chat and later video chat in it, but I have less time provided by client :( So I am planning to go for some open source code in cocoa, which I can use and easily in-corporate in my application. After analysis over net I found that Jabber related client/ chat server application should be best according to my requirements. I have found that there are several jabber based client-server application but mostly written in java, C or C++. Can anyone suggest me some links or code for cocoa based, jabber server and client application?? can't get true height/width of object in chrome

I have a question, if i set a image height in css and try to get height/width i get different results in different browsers. Is there a way to get the same dimension in all browsers? Why is OnDragEnter not called?

I have added the COleDropTarget variable to my view class, Registered it in the OnCreate(), which is being called at startup. I added the OnDragEnter and OnDrop virtual functions (not the others yet, as OnDragLeave). But they are not called when I drag (or drop) a piece of text over them. I just happened to think about the fact that I had already implemented the dropfiles function to the same window. Is this preventing the text drag? What else do I need? TIA, Harvey

I'm trying to strip content titles out of the middle of text strings. Could I use regex to strip everything out of this string except for the title (in italics) in these strings? Or is there a better way? Joe User wrote a blog post called The 10 Best Regex Expressions in the category Regex. Jane User wrote a blog post called Regex is Hard! in the category TechProblems. I've tried to come up with a regex expression to cover this, but I think it might need two. The trick is that the text in bold is always the same, so you could search for that, like this: regex: delete everything before and including wrote a blog post called regex: delete in the category and everything after it.
