• Outlook 2007 does not have a ribbon

  I have outlook 2007 installed (12.0.6514.5000) on my work computer. I just installed Bowie to allow integration with outlook and TFS. Most of the features for that plugin are based on the Ribbon. But I don't have the ribbon. I have the old menu and toolbar structure. How do I switch to the ribbon view?

  Hello all, I'm using Windows Vista, and I was wondering if I can put shortcuts for applications.Like for example, if I press a certain combination of keys I get notepad, or something like that. If those shortcuts were already there, how can I know them? • Running programs by typing some alias in Windows

  Is there an easy way in windows to set a given string, like "sidb" to run a program or open a given folder in Windows? My original idea was to be able to run commands like that in the "Execute" start button menu (or Win + R),so I'd just have to do WIN+R and type "sidb". What is the best way to accomplish this? EDIT: May I rephrase this as : Is there a way to define for example, in systems variables, sibd="C:.......blabla\ and then I'd just have to type "sibd" in Run?

  There is a computer with Internet Explorer 8, Tabs are disabled completely. When the bookmarks on bookmark toolbar is clicked, they are opened in a new window. The need is; they should open in the current window. Note that, bookmarks menu works as expected and opens bookmarks in current window, the same is needed on bookmarks toolbar.   In VLC for Android, i discovered an option to preserve the pitch during faster-than-normal playback: The "requires a fast device" obviously implies that faster playback is more performant when the pitch is changed too. Why is that so? What i've tried: Before posting this question i did some shallow research through Google. According to Wikipedia, there are several methods for faster playback of audio, the "simplest" one (Resampling) changes the pitch.

  I have several copies/instances of my xp mode image and have a bunch of apps that were auto-published to Win7. I have since disabled the "auto-publish" apps in the instances but still have the applications listed. What is the correct/best way to clear them out. I read a post somewhere that you can just delete the shortcut in the start menu but I want to remove all links and don't know if that would suffice? Thanks TK

Is it possible to mount it in the file system. And I can't install smbfs or anything else. I need to use only what comes on the live CD, as there is no internet connection and no way to get in packages.

  I have a group of users on my server, "Developers", and I would like an environment variable to be set for them whenever they login. More specifically, when anyone in this group logs in, I would like the equivalent of: setenv ANDROID_SDK_HOME /Developers/Android/User to be set at login. I can do this with a login script if necessary, but what I'm asking is: is it possible to set this type of thing in Profile Manager, Workgroup Manager, Directory Utility, etc? • Word in office 2007 and Windows 7 ultimate cant navigate to folders

  In word 2007 I click office button top left I click open, I get the open box, in the top address bar, I if I click on the down arrow far right (previous Locations) the drop down menu is empty just a box with nothing in it. To go anywhere from here I have to navigate via the left had pane, on all other windows systems this dropdown has enabled me to go to any location on my computer. I'm wondering if because all my word documents are on my D drive that windows 7 doesn't like it.

• Ubuntu 10.04 boot splash screen and themes broken

  I recently upgraded to the release candidate of Ubuntu 10.04. Since then, two problems have occurred and persisted: the boot splash screen has reduced down to a black screen with random color blocks/text/gibberish at the top; and the themes are broken, as in the light themes have checkboxes in menus the same color as the background, and the dark themes don't correctly change the font colors in the top menu. Help? On a side note, is there a need to upgrade from 10.04 RC to LTS?

  The icons of my folders in Windows 8 have changed automatically ! Now it is similar to that of the Unknown File Type icon. My C: drive icon and some icons in the Explorer-Home menu had also changed, but they became normal after a restart. But the folder icons (Medium Size) don't change. Now Everything is set and I want to edit grub to set windows 7 as my default os when I run this command gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst I get an error that No such file or Directory found` then I tried this sudo grub find /boot/grub/stage1 I get an error No File found. • Why does Explorer lock up indefinitely when I try to access a particular file?

  I'm working in XP Pro and I've never seen this problem. When I try to open a file, Explorer locks up and I have to shut it down from the task manager. When I right-click, the only options in the context menu are Print, Open With..., and Send To. No Delete, no cut/copy/paste, etc.

Simply setting the article's Access Level to Restricted makes it disappear rather than prompting for a login. I can't figure out how to make a login page because I can't find any menu items or documentation pertaining to mod_login. I want to set at least one page to require login access. Where do I start?
