  • About Web service ,how to use Ajax to call a specific member function of a class?

    - by Liu chwen
    I'm trying to build a web service by PHP. In my case, I called the getINFO(), but the return value on client side always null. Have no idea to solve this problem.. Here's the SOAPserver code(WS.WEB_s.php): require("WEB_s.php"); ini_set("soap.wsdl_cache_enabled", 0); $server = new SoapServer('wsdl/WEB_s.wsdl'); $server->setClass("WEB_s"); $server->handle(); Where the main Class is(WEB_s.php): final class WEB_s { public function getINFO(){ $JsonOutput = '{"key":"value",...}'; return $JsonOutput; } public function setWAN($setCommand,$newConfigfilePath){ $bOutput; return $bOutput; } } And Client side: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#qqq').button().click(function(){ var soapMessage = LoginSoap($('#uid').val(),$('#pwd').val()); alert('soapMessage'); $.ajax({ //url: 'libraries/WS.WEB_s.php/WEB_s/getINFO',//success , return null //url: 'libraries/WS.WEB_s.php/', //success , return null url: 'libraries/WS.WEB_s.php/getINFO',//success , return null type: 'GET', timeout: (10* 1000), contentType: "text/xml", dataType: "xml", success: function( data,textStatus,jqXHR){ alert('Server success(' + data+')('+ textStatus + ')(' + jqXHR + ')'); }, error: function (request, status, error) { alert('Server Error(' + status+')->'+error); }, complete: function (jqXHR, textStatus) { alert('Server success(' + jqXHR+')('+ textStatus + ')'); } }); }); }); The following is the corresponding WSDL file : http://codepaste.net/95wq9b

  • getJSON and variable scope in javascript

    - by nillls
    Hi! In order to make function calls to our back-end php code we've implemented something called an ActionProxy like this: function ActionProxy(action, input, callback){ $.post("ActionProxy.php?method="+action, { data: input}, function(data, textStatus, XMLHttpRequest){ //return data.ResponseWhatever } }); The problem we're having is that using data outside the ActionProxy is impossible due to variable scope limitations (we assume), setting var res = data.ResponseWhatever or return data.ResponseWhatever is pretty futile. How would one handle these responses most appropriately so that functions calling the actionproxy can access the response values?

  • How do I upload a file when I know the client's filepath?

    - by GJTorikian
    I'm interested in the way Sonic Living detects your iTunes library XML file. It prompts the user to approve its actions, then automatically uploads the XML file based on the client OS (and assuming the default installation path of iTunes). How the heck does it do that? None of the upload libraries I've looked at have this feature. They all assume that a user will click "Select file..." then browse around for the right thing to upload.

  • Asynchronous javascript issue

    - by amit
    I am trying to create a function which takes values from various html elements of the page to create a string and pass on to a variable. now this works great for all browsers except IE 8 and 9. IE tends to skip the part of fetching the values and goes straight to the variable and finds nothing.. is there a way to sync it all so that it works in IE? function seturl() { var qstring = returnQString(); $('span.keyword').text($.trim($('#hdnKeyWord').attr('value'))); $('input.search_box').attr('value', $.trim($('#hdnKeyWord').attr('value'))); $('#hdnSearchKeyword').attr('value', $.trim($('#hdnKeyWord').attr('value'))); $(".search_box").val($.trim($("#hdn_span_hdnKeyWord").text())); $(".header_inner input[type='text']").focus(); $(".search_term input[type='text']").focus(); $('#locationurl').attr('value', qstring); } function returnQString(){ var qstring = $.trim($('#locationurl').attr('init')); //initial value of the url qstring += "?type=" + $('#hdnSTSearch').attr('value'); // type of handler hit qstring += "&keyword=" + encodeURIComponent($('#hdnKeyWord').attr('value')); // keyword addition qstring += "&pagestart=" + $('#current_page').attr('value'); // pagestart(current page) addition qstring += "&pagesize=" + $('#show_per_page').attr('value'); // per page size addition qstring += "&facets=" // facetsearch $.each(selectedFilter.items, function (index, value) { qstring += value.filter + ","; }); qstring += "&selectedSection=" + selectedSection // Section Select return qstring; }

  • Password value on click is not changing the text to 'Password'

    - by Sam
    window.onload=function() { var password = document.getElementById('apassword'); var real = document.getElementById('password'); var fake = document.createElement('input'); fake.setAttribute('type', 'text'); /*fake.setAttribute('id', 'password');*/ fake.setAttribute('class', 'contact-input contact-right'); password.appendChild(fake); fake.setAttribute('value', 'Password'); fake.onfocus = function() {this.style.display='none';real.style.display=''; real.focus();}; real.style.display = 'none'; real.setAttribute('value', ''); real.onblur = function() {if(this.value==''){this.style.display='none';fake.style.display=''}}; }; AND <label id="apassword"> <input type="password" title="Password" id="password" class="contact-input contact-right" name="password" /> </label> What is supposed to happen is that when you click on the input box, it changes from 'Password' to a blank type="password" input box, however it doesn't happen. This originally worked, but then I had to change some ID's and classes etc. I'm not sure how to debug scripts, so hopefully someone can help me with that, and also with my question :). Thankyou :).

  • Javascript int variable from ASP.NET MVC Model data?

    - by Anders Svensson
    I need to get model data into a javascript variable and use it as an int to compare values. But I can only figure out how to get the model data as strings, otherwise the compiler complains. So how can I get the max and taskBudgetHours as int variables in the Javascript? <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $("#taskForm").submit(function (e) { var taskBudgetHours = $('#BudgetHours').val(); var max = '<%: Model.Project.RemainingBudgetHours %>'; var test = 'test'; alert(taskBudgetHours); alert(max); if (taskBudgetHours <= max) { //This doesn't work, seems to treat it as strings... return true; } else { //Prevent the submit event and remain on the screen e.preventDefault(); alert('There are only ' + max + ' hours left of the project hours.'); return false; } }); return; }); </script>

  • How does Facebook codes their Cropping tool?

    - by Trip
    I ask this because I am currently trying to work out my own technique, and there are huge strategic hangups for the entire site when your begin this. Of them are: Using jCrop and rMagick, it takes up a huge amount of processing ( to which I have backgrounded ). Because I have it backgrounded, I must by ajax develop a feature that auto-updates every five seconds to check when the backgrounding is done. Has anyone accomplished this with their sites? If so, what are some creative techniques you came across to keep the processing streamline, and the users happy?

  • How to drop a sortable block?

    - by Pentium10
    I have a list which is reordered using sortable. I defined a trash can div, and I want to achieve that when the blocks are dropped on this div to get deleted. So far I can't seam to fine the way to fire the drop event, when I release the item gets back to his previous position. I have this code: $(document).ready(function() { var order = null; $("#order-list").load(location.href+" #order-list>*",""); $("#order-list").sortable({ handle : '.handle', update : function (e, ui) { order = $(this).sortable('serialize'); $("#info").load("process-sortable.php?"+order); } }); }); and $("#trashcan").droppable({ drop: function(event, ui) { draggedid = ui.draggable.attr('id'); alert(draggedid); // doesn't fire $.get("process-add-subcat.php", { "action" : "delete_subcategory", "draggedid": draggedid }, function(data){ }); } });

  • Better alternatives to know whether a control is valid in javascript?

    - by Anthony
    I want to know whether a control is valid or not in javascript. Is there a direct client side API available in Asp.Net which can tell me whether a control is valid or not? Eg. If I have 2 validators attached to a textbox, I need a function that can tell me whether the textbox is valid or not. If even 1 validator is not valid then it should return false. I can't seem to find a function that can give me this. Here is a little helper that I wrote which does the job but is inefficient: function isControlValid(control) { for (i = 0; i < Page_Validators.length; i++) { var validator = Page_Validators[i]; var controlId = validator.controltovalidate; if ($(control).attr('id') == controlId && validator.isvalid == false) { return false; } } return true; } Anybody has any better alternatives?

  • Ideas on limiting content to single printed page?

    - by James Skidmore
    I have 5-6 text areas that users fill out in a template (a couple of columns, basically a newsletter format). I'm needing to limit their content to one printed page, but I'm having a hard time coming up with practical solutions. The printed format (margin, font size, etc.) will be the same for all users, as it's printed from a central source. I've had a couple of ideas, but all of them seem rather unreliable and difficult to implement: Determine height of content using JavaScript and estimate the number of printed pages from that. The problem with this is that browser font sizes can vary, it's only a rough estimate (pixels to inches), etc. Limit the number of characters. This is problematic because there are various text fields, certain characters (like M) take up more space than others (like I), and line breaks obviously count for much more. What ideas do you all have? I appreciate your help!

  • Javascript: How to filter object array based on attributes?

    - by JGreig
    I have the following JavaScript JSON array of real estate home objects: var json = { 'homes' : [ { "home_id":"1", "price":"925", "sqft":"1100", "num_of_beds":"2", "num_of_baths":"2.0", }, { "home_id":"2", "price":"1425", "sqft":"1900", "num_of_beds":"4", "num_of_baths":"2.5", }, // ... (more homes) ... ]} var xmlhttp = eval('(' + json + ')'); homes = xmlhttp.homes; What I would like to do is be able to perform a filter on the object to return a subset of "home" objects. For example, I want to be able to filter based on: price, sqft, num_of_beds, and num_of_baths. Question: How can I perform something in javascript like the pseudo-code below: var newArray = homes.filter( price <= 1000 & sqft >= 500 & num_of_beds >=2 & num_of_baths >= 2.5); Note, the syntax does not have to be exactly like above. This is just an example.
