    How do you handle ajax requests when user is not authenticated? Someone enters the page, leaves room for an hour, returns, adds comment on the page that goes throuh ajax using jQuery ($.post). Since he is not authenticated, method return RedirectToRoute result (redirects to login page). What do you do with it? How do you handle it on client side and how do you handle it in controller?

  • IIS hosting, asp.net mvc

    Hi I have a site that uses flex and calls controller actions which returns json to the flex. This works fine in a dev server , the folder that has the flex app lives inside the web project and in the dev ennvironment, makes calls hostname, ie www.someurl.com in the actual live scenario, this will be an intranet so not hostname to call, the flex app seems to have trouble calling http://localhost/Virtual directory name it seems to totally miss the virtual directory name. I am obviously missing something basic, any help?

  • hibernate - uniqueResult silently fails

    I have a login controller that use the hibernate uniqueResult method. Everything works fine when i test it in eclipse's tomcat server. But when i deploy my webapps to tomcat server (on the same machine) it fails: it always returns null even i use the correct credential.   • How to check at runtime if a class implements certain interface?

    Let's say I have some content classes like Page, TabGroup, Tab, etc. Certain of those will be implementing my IWidgetContainer interface - it means they will geet an additional field named ContainedItems from the interface and some methods for manipulating this field. Now I need to reflect the fact that some class implements this interface by rendering out some special custom controls in my ASP.NET MVC Views (like jQuery Add/Remove/Move/Reorder buttons). For instance, TabGroup will implement IWidgetContainer because it will contain tabs but a tab will not implement it because it won't have the ability to contain anything. So I have to somehow check in my view, when I render my content objects (The problem is, I use my base class as strong type in my view not concrete classes), whether it implements IWidgetContainer. How is that possible or have I completely missed something? To rephrase the question, how do you reflect some special properties of a class (like interface implementation) in the UI in general (not necessarily ASP.NET MVC)?     I'm trying to render a CGPDFPage (selected from a CGPDFDocument) into a UIImage to display on a view. I have the following code in MonoTouch which gets me part way there. My question is, how do I select the full pdf page and flip it round to display correctly. I have seen a few examples using ScaleCTM and TranslateCTM but couldn't seem to get them working. Is there any method to have automatically granted all permissions to this role, instead of hardcode every controller in the authorization_rules?   • Selectively turning off Devise's flash notices in Rails 3

    The Devise authentication framework uses flash notices everywhere. This makes it easy to integrate with apps but it leads to poor user experience sometimes. I am wondering what's an easy way to selectively turn off some of the Devise flash notices in my Rails 3 app. In particular, I'd like to get rid of the blatantly obvious signed_in and signed_out flashes. Some searching suggested subclassing the session controller or use something like this but I haven't been able to find any simple solutions to this problem.

    I'm a computer science teacher trying to create a little gradebook for myself using NumPy. But I think it would make my code easier to write if I could create an ndarray that uses field names for both the rows and columns. Here's what I've got so far: import numpy as np num_stud = 23 num_assign = 2 grades = np.zeros(num_stud, dtype=[('assign 1','i2'), ('assign 2','i2')]) #etc gv = grades.view(dtype='i2').reshape(num_stud,num_assign) So, if my first student gets a 97 on 'assign 1', I can write either of: grades[0]['assign 1'] = 97 gv[0][0] = 97 Also, I can do the following: np.mean( grades['assign 1'] ) # class average for assignment 1 np.sum( gv[0] ) # total points for student 1 This all works. But what I can't figure out how to do is use a student id number to refer to a particular student (assume that two of my students have student ids as shown): grades['123456']['assign 2'] = 95 grades['314159']['assign 2'] = 83 ...or maybe create a second view with the different field names? np.sum( gview2['314159'] ) # total points for the student with the given id I know that I could create a dict mapping student ids to indices, but that seems fragile and crufty, and I'm hoping there's a better way than: id2i = { '123456': 0, '314159': 1 } np.sum( gv[ id2i['314159'] ] ) I'm also willing to re-architect things if there's a cleaner design. I'm new to NumPy, and I haven't written much code yet, so starting over isn't out of the question if I'm Doing It Wrong. I am going to be needing to sum all the assignment points for over a hundred students once a day, as well as run standard deviations and other stats. Plus, I'll be waiting on the results, so I'd like it to run in only a couple of seconds. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  • drupal hook_menu_alter() for adding tabs

    I want to add some tabs in the "node/%/edit" page from my module called "cssswitch". When I click "Rebuild Menus", the two new tabs are displayed, but they are displayed for ALL nodes when editing them, not just for the node "cssswitch". I want these new tabs to be displayed only when editing node of type "cssswitch". The other problem is when I clear all cache, the tabs completely dissapear from all edit pages.   • jqtouch - panels appear on page, class="back" not working in Safari

    I'm trying to get a demo working that was used in J. Stark's webinar on Safari Books Online (still available for viewing). I think I've followed the code example correctly, but the class="back" objects used to return from the "blog", "contacts", "settings" and "about" panels do not work, though the correct address shows in the nav area at the base of the browser window when I hover the mouse over the respective link. The panels-- which should slide in and out when called by their respective class"arrow" elements-- appear on the main page, nor do they animate correctly. Browser is Safari 5.0.3(6533.19.4); jquery-1.3.2; jqtouch freshly downloaded from the jqt website. Obviously I'm missing something simple. Sat 8 January 2011: 1 48 AM UPDATE in response to JS's comments: Most humble thanks for your note. Didn't want to impose on your server, so the URL for jqtouch.min.css points to a version on my server @ fastermac.net. There's something further amiss, I believe. On load, page still shows the elements that should be invisible until called by clicking class="arrow" elements. Animations not yet wiggling. Did get them to wiggle at one point, but "flip," for instance, landed then on a black page-- not the targeted panel. Probably something obvious, but I'm missing it after some considerable due diligence. Again, thanks for your note. Any further illumination would be sincerely appreciated.

    I have several dependency injection services which are dependent on stuff like HTTP context. Right now I'm configuring them as singletons the Windsor container in the Application_Start handler, which is obviously a problem for such services. What is the best way to handle this? I'm considering making them transient and then releasing them after each HTTP request. But what is the best way/place to inject the HTTP context into them? Controller factory or somewhere else?

  • onItemClick gives index/ position of item on visible page ... not actual index of the item in list .

    hi, I am creating a list .. the elements of the list are drawn from sqlite database .. I populate the list using ArrayList and ArrayAdapter ...upon clicking the items on the list I want to be able to fire an intent containing info about the item clicked ... info like the index number of the item .. using the method : onItemClick(AdapterView av, View v, int index, long arg) I do get index of the item clicked . however it is of the list currently displayed . the problem comes when I do setFilterTextEnabled(true) , and on the app type in some text to to search some item ..and then click it ..rather than giving me the index of the item on the original list it gives me the index on filtered list.. following is the snippet of code: myListView.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> av, View v, int index, long arg) { Intent lyricsViewIntent = new Intent(iginga.this, LyricsPage.class); lyricsViewIntent.putExtra("title", songList.get((int)arg).getTitle()); lyricsViewIntent.putExtra("id", songList.get((int)arg).getSongId()); startActivity(lyricsViewIntent); } }); myListView.setTextFilterEnabled(true); Is there any way I can get the original index /position of the item instead of the one showing in filtered text ...when filtered.

  • Invalid Argument javascript error only on certain computers

    Getting an error whenever we click a particular button/link on our site. It is generating a javascript "Invalid Argument" error. I know in the other posts it is typically because it is a syntax error in the javascript however it only just seems to have started happening and it doesn't happen on all pcs. ie. in our client's environment if I remote onto their web server and view the uat website I get the javascript error. If I remote onto their sql server and view the uat website I don't get the javascript error. If it was a syntax error then I would always get the error wouldn't I? both browsers are the same version of IE6 (yeah I know...) :) I have tried deleting temporary internet files - including viewing the files and deleting them myself - but no joy. client uses citrix.. and they're all getting the error :( Any ideas would be appreciated - Thanks! :) Update - Sorry I haven't posted specific code as there is too much to post (and I'm not sure where the error is occurring). The "button" launches a new window which in turn opens up a couple of aspx pages and calls lots of javascript. So the window opens ok, and there's a function that gets called to resize the window - but before it calls the resizing of the window/content it throws the invalid argument error. Am busy trying to get alerts to trigger to see if I can see where it's falling over but so far no luck. Again not sure why this error doesn't occur when I use a particular PC (same browser version)

    I have made countless test examples of a tableViewController hosted by a popoverController and I have come to the following conclusion: It does not appear possible to pre-select a tableView cell. It is possible to do pre-selection when a tableViewController is hosted by a splitviewController. I am using the exact same tableViewController code.
