  I'm often deep inside a directory tree, moving upwards and downwards to perform various tasks. Is there anything more efficient than going 'cd ../../../..'? I was thinking something along the lines of this: If I'm in /foo/bar/baz/qux/quux/corge/grault and want to go to /foo/bar/baz, I want to do something like 'cdto baz'. I can write some bash script for this, but I'd first like to know if it already exists in some form.

  I have strange behavior with browsers on my PC (but it work well before yesteday) My Chrome, FF (ERROR: Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown Error ) write me that can't connect to Internet I need to check Proxy, Firewall etc. I did it and all settings are fine, on other PC in this area all working with the same settings. • best way to save a web page

  Hi all I have tried many ways/software to save a web page (html, mht, doc, pdf). My favorite software was an addon for browsers from Omnipage (OCR). What i like about this is that it prints the whole page (continuously) and it doesn't write the http path and page number on the footer of every page, which i find very annoying. • Emacs - Disable Some Minibuffer Messages

  In Emacs, there are some cases where I would like to prevent messages from appearing in the minibuffer, mainly pertaining to "Beginning/End of buffer" and "Text is read-only". Is there any way I can prevent these messages from appearing in the minibuffer? Also, is there some significant reason I might not want to disable these? At face value, I can just as easily look at the row number and buffer write status on the modeline.

  I'm currently using conventional HDDs like the 5200 rpms, browsing a lot, my folder and files are scattered, torrenting always and I'm not fond of optimization like disabling cache, cleaning temp Files , etc. My question is, given the above conditions (no disable of cache, seeding always in torrent, downloading torrent) is it safe to use SSD? I'm pretty worried about cycles but I read an article wherein it says its safe since it will usually wear out for 10 years given that you always write heavily and continuously. Thanks

• How to allow only specific directories to use htaccess?

  Currently in apache2.conf I have AllowOverride all set for /var/www which simply allows htaccess for all the sites on the server (which is Ubuntu, 9.04). However, I'd rather only allow overrides in each site root directory and nothing else. In other words, /var/www/site1, /var/www/site2, etc. can have a htaccess, but all other directories including /var/www and /var/www/site1/content cannot. Is there a way to do this without having to write a rule for every site on the server?

  I chrooted a user to the directory /var/www/upload using ChrootDirectory /var/www/upload in my etc/ssh/sshd_config. The permissions of all the files in var/www/upload is 755 and owner is root:upload_user. However, I still cannot modify the files. (Getting a permission denied error.) Is it possible if I create a subdirectory with ownership upload_user:upload_user. Is it, by any means, possible to allow my chrooted user to write to his / directory?

  Is there a program which lets you easily get the x,y coordinates for your cursor? Basically, I move my cursor to somewhere on my screen, it shows me the x,y coordinates and has an option to copy them to the clipboard or export them somehow. I can already do this if I take a screenshot and open it in MS Paint, then as I move the mouse cursor over the screenshot it shows the coordinates in the status bar, however I have to manually write them down, hence its not convenient.

  When I hit Start-Run and type "Chrome", nothing happens (no new "chrome.exe" process is launched, not error, nothing). When I hit Start (without "Run"), type Chrome and run it, it works. How do I find what shortcut is run via Start-Run ? When I open a command prompt and write "Chrome.exe", it doesn't recognize it as an executable program.

  Hi All, I have a 6509 with ~1000 user machines in different vlans, I want to allow 10 server machines to send as much as they can/want but to limit all client machines from all subnets to have a sedning rate limit of 1mbps with no receiving limitation. It is worth noting that all my ip addresses are assigned using a DCHP server and there are 1000 of them so I can not write ACLs for every address seperately.   Maybe someone knows a reason for following behaviour: I'm going to add a printer thru the normal printer wizard. At the step where to connect to a shared printer i select browse and take a printer from the printers attached to another host. That won't work. But if i write the complete address (\\host\printer) the printer get attached. Any idea why i cannot select from the list ?

The WS-C3548-XL shows the fields in the order Destination Address Address Type VLAN Destination Port while the C2960 shows it like Vlan Mac Address Type Ports is there a way to tell show to print the fields in a predefined order?
