  • Can't get basic web servers working on EC2 RedHat

    I'm trying to get some basic Python web servers (Flask, Tornado) turned up on the EC2. On the Amazon-flavored Linux AMI (Amazon Linux AMI 2013.03.1) they work no problem, but the same web servers installed on the RedHat quicklaunch AMI (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4) don't work at all- All I get is connection failure errors when I try to browse to them. Both these servers share the same security group, with the relevant ports (5000, 5010) open, so I'm trying to understand why RedHat would not be not working.

  • Using a SD card as a smart card for two-step verification for Mac logon

    What I am trying to do is create two-step verification to logon to my mac, one being that you would need to input a SD card (formated with special format or something) and then also have a password. Is there any software out there that could do this or any way of programming it so that once it reads the SD Card it makes the password bar visible for logon. Would it be easier to do it with Linux since it is open source? Any help in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks

It works properly on another 32bit machine, but on this i have still problem with some .so module. # file /bin/bash /bin/bash: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.18, stripped if i run doctotext.sh it`s return an error: ./doctotext: error while loading shared libraries: libgsf-1.so.114: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory please, can you help?

  • Gedit opens on all workspaces?

    Im using Fedora 10 with XFCE. Every time I open Gedit, it opens a instance on every workspace. The circle icon on my window border is selected (meaning, enabled on all workspaces). When I disable it to appear on one workspace, then close and restart, Gedit opens normal (current workspace). Question is: How to keep this current configuration? If I restart my system, and start up Gedit, it appears on all workspaces again.

    I am using Word 2007, but saving my documents in .doc (as opposed to .docx) formats because that's company policy. I have the ToC set up fine, but is there a way to have it update automatically (at document open, save or otherwise)? Word help suggests that it should update upon opening the document, but that doesn't seem to happen. Any ideas?

    I am trying to create a ERD using VISIO Professional 2010 (full install) but I am having problems. I can't open the table properties windows at the bottom of the screen when I double click on a table, and I can't right-click on the table and choose properties because the choice is not there... The Database tab is missing from the ribbon on top. What can cause this? Here is what I already tried: File/Options/Trust Center/ Trust Center Settings.../Add-ins/Disable all Application Add-ins is UNCHECKED

    Hello, I have Windows 7 installed and some certificate in .pfx format. I succeed installing it to local store and store of domain user with administrator privileges, but when I connect with local administrator and try to install it I get error: The import failed because the store was read-only, the store was full, or the store did not open correctly.     I can't open my hard disk drive. The error box says "RUnDLL, there was a problem starting ~$WCFLPM.FAT32 The specified module could not be found". My HDD has a virus before. My hard disk contains a shortcut and the shortcut contains all files. I don't want to format it just yet because it contains quite many files. I tried troubleshooting it but none of the solutions in the internet helped.

However, this registry tweak does not work to speed up the desktop peek functionality when the mouse is moved over the 'desktop' area of the task bar. Any idea how to speed up this function?

    I like to view my library in various ways in WMP. For example, I usually search for Podcast and order the result by date added. This gives me a list of my podcasts by date order, newest to oldest. Is there a way of saving this view so that I don't have recreate it each time I open WMP? If it's not possible to do this, can anyone suggest an app that does do it, and that handles syncing as well as WMP.

  • Firefox appending .xls extension to .xlsx files

    We are serving files with the .xlsx (excel 2007/2010) extension. IE, Chrome, Safari all download the file and open excel just fine. Firefox is being stupid. For some reason it's appending .xls to the extension. I found this: https://support.mozilla.com/bs/questions/758363 However, the instructions weren't very specific and completely unclear to me. Who offers reliable unlimited online backup space for a fixed price that's compatible with rsync, FTP, or other generic/open source file transfer protocols? Or, has anyone written software that lets me treat Mozy's/etc space as though it were regular file space (eg, "mozyfs"?)

  • Windows 7 New Folder shortcut doesn't work, opens browser/Firefox

    I was so excited to hear that Windows 7 Explorer now has a hotkey to create a new folder (ctrl+shift+N), but I tried it on my machine, and it doesn't work!! If I press ctrl+shift+N in a Windows Explorer window, it opens up my default web browser (Firefox) and tries to open the last downloaded file. How do I get Create New Folder functionality back? Notes: Windows 7, Firefox is default browser. Keyboard is MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000.

    so I've been trying to reencode a .mp4 video I have into a .avi so my cousin can use it on his Windows machine. He's not very tech-savvy, and doesn't want to deal with downloading any new programs to open .mp4 videos, but thats beside the point. The current string I'm using is ffmpeg -i Courage.Under.Fire.1996.BRRip.H264.AAC.5.1ch.Gopo.mp4 -sameq -acodec copy -vcodec copy CourageUnderFire.avi It produces the video, however doesn't give me any audio. Any assistance?
