    I have a scraping object basically. I want to be able to add POST variables to it like $obj->addvar('Name', 'Value'); What I have now is this: function addvar($var, $val) { $postvars[] = Array($var=>$val); } function initiate() { $this->q = $postvars; } if(!empty($this->post)) { $this->params = http_build_query($q); } I haven't tested because it's too incomplete, But would my addvar() function work? How on earth do I append a key+value to the array so http_build_query would accept it?   • Android color picker - updating color array

    Hi all, I'm trying to create a color picker for Android that looks like a minimalistic version of Gimp's. So, it has a hue slider and a rectangle with saturation/value variants of a color chosen in hue slider. Question: what is the best way to create the rectangle? Right now, I'm creating an 200x200 array of pixels, but it takes ~5sec to create and display rectangle with that array. And I need colors in rectangle to change whenever I change the value in hue slider... Rectangle is bitmap, btw. Can I use color matrices on that and how? Any examples? Thanks in advance!

    I'm running a very simple query that I think should work. The only thing that I haven't done before is put a php variable in the WHERE clause of the query. The variable $X is a numerical value, say 100. When I run this query, I just get a value of 0 returned. Am I doing something obviously stupid? SELECT generator_64k.n FROM generator_64k WHERE generator_64k.n<= '$X' I've looked around the web and also tried this: SELECT generator_64k.n FROM generator_64k WHERE generator_64k.n<= '" . $X .     Hello guys, I'm having troubles with the logic and would apprecite any help/tips. I have <Deposits> elements and <Receipts> elements. However there isn't any identification what receipt was paid toward what deposit. I am trying to update the <Deposits> elements with the following attributes: @DueAmont - the amount that is still due to pay @Status - whether it's paid, outstanding (partly paid) or due @ReceiptDate - the latest receipt's date that was paid towards this deposit Every deposit could be paid with one or more receipts. It also could happen, that 1 receipt could cover one or more deposits. For example. If there are 3 deposits: 500 100 450 That are paid with the following receipts: 200 100 250 I want to get the following info: Deposit 1 is fully paid (status=paid, dueAmount=0, receiptNum=3. Deposit 2 is partly paid (status=outstanding, dueAmount=50, receiptNum=3. Deposit 3 is not paid (status=due, dueAmount=450, receiptNum=NAN. I've added comments in the code explaining what I'm trying to do. I am staring at this code for the 3rd day now non stop - can't see what I'm doing wrong.     I see everywhere constructions like: int? myVar = null; string test = myVar.HasValue ? myVar.Value.ToString() : string.Empty; Why not use simply: string test = myVar.ToString(); Isn't that exactly the same ? At least Reflector says that: public override string ToString() { if (!this.HasValue) { return ""; } return this.value.ToString(); } So, is that correct (the shorter version) or am I missing something?

My first try was with <rich:modalPanel id="mod1"> <ui:include src="#{mybean.generateURL()"/> </rich:modalPanel> but it just throws me a 404 page not found error, typing the generated URL directly into the address bar works perfectly fine. Does anyone know what's causing the problem , or what's the correct way to do this? The system is running on seam/richfaces. Thanks!

  • How do I insert into a unique key into a table?

    I want to insert data into a table where I don't know the next unique key that I need. I'm not sure how to format my INSERT query so that the value of the Key field is 1 greater than the maximum value for the key in the table. I know this is a hack, but I'm just running a quick test against a database and need to make sure I always send over a Unique key. Here's the SQL I have so far: INSERT INTO [CMS2000].[dbo].[aDataTypesTest] ([KeyFld] ,[Int1]) VALUES ((SELECT Max([KeyFld]) FROM [dbo].[aDataTypesTest]) + 1 ,1) which errors out with: Msg 1046, Level 15, State 1, Line 5 Subqueries are not allowed in this context. Only scalar expressions are allowed. I'm not able to modify the underlying database table. What do I need to do to ensure a unique insert in my INSERT SQL code?

    I'm working on pseudo-transport layer software that runs over UDP, providing reliable connection-oriented transmission, as an alternative to TCP. In order to maximize network efficiency, we query the MTU of the "best" network adapter upon initialization. MIB_IFROW row = {0}; row.dwIndex = dwBestIfIndex; dwRes = GetIfEntry(&row); Searching online I found that you can use the following netsh commands to query for this same value, from a command prompt (not a C++ API) netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces The troubling issue is that while row.dwMtu may be set to 1500, snooping the network traffic on the sending laptop shows that our packets are fragmented into 1300 byte packets. netsh also reports that the MTU is 1300. Clearly the value reported by netsh command is the actual used values. Anyone know what API I can call to get the same values as netsh?

    I have set up the user defaults to record a integer for a UISlider, the problem is that, if the user has only just installed the app then the integer is zero or NULL.   • HiLo: how to control Low values

    I'm using the HiLo generator in my S#rpArchitecture/NHibernate project and I'm performing a large import batch. I've read somewhere about the possibility to predict the Low values of any new records because they are generated on the client. I figure this means I can control the Low values myself or at least fetch the next Low value from somewhere. The reason I want to use this is that I want to set relations to other entities I'm about to insert. They do not exist yet but will be inserted before the batch transaction completes. However, I cannot find information about how to set the Low values or how to get what Low value is up next. Any ideas?

  • Fastest way to calculate an X-bit bitmask?

    I have been trying to solve this problem for a while, but couldn't with just integer arithmetic and bitwise operators. However, I think its possible and it should be fairly easy. What am I missing? The problem: to get an integer value of arbitrary length (this is not relevant to the problem) with it's X least significant bits sets to 1 and the rest to 0. For example, given the number 31, I need to get an integer value which equals 0x7FFFFFFF (31 least significant bits are 1 and the rest zeros). Of course, using a loop OR-ing a shifted 1 to an integer X times will do the job. But that's not the solution I'm looking for. It should be more in the direction of (X << Y - 1), thus using no loops.

    I have WPF window which binds a local Dependency property to a property of my usercontrol. So now I see the value which the window gave me in my usercontrol. I achieve this by setting DataContext of window to the window itself Now once the window is loaded i set the DataContext of usercontrol to a ViewModel class, and at some point of time(based on user action) the control changes values in the control. All fine so far. But now the changed value is not reflected in Windows dependency property. How I can resolve this issue?

    Hello, My PHP script contains a loop, which does nothing much more than echoing and dereferencing pointers (like in $tab[$othertab[$i]]- stuff). It was working great until yesterday, when this script starting being VERY slow (like 50 times slower than before). After using strace, i figured out that 90% of the time, the script does mmap/munmap.     Any suggestions on whether fewer check constraints are better, or more? How should they be grouped if at all? Suppose I have 3 columns which are VARCHAR2(1 BYTE), each of which is a 'T'/'F' flag. I want to add a check constraint to each column specifying that only characters IN ('T', 'F') are allowed. Should I have 3 separate check constraints, one for each column: COL_1 IN ('T', 'F') COL_2 IN ('T', 'F') COL_3 IN ('T', 'F') Or a single check constraint: COL_1 IN ('T', 'F') AND COL_2 IN ('T', 'F') AND COL_3 IN ('T', 'F') My thoughts are it is best to keep these three separate, as the columns are logically unrelated to each other. The only case I would have a check constraint that examines more than one column is if there was some relationship between the value in one and the value in another, e.g.: (PARENT_CNT > 0 AND PRIMARY_PARENT IS NOT NULL) OR (PARENT_CNT = 0 AND PRIMARY_PARENT IS NULL)

  • Long Gigabit Ethernet Run

    I am trying to get an Gig-E network between two buildings that are approximately 260 ft. away. While some TRENDnet switches failed to be able to connect to each other over Cat 6 at that distance, two Netgear 5-port Gig-E switches do so just fine. However, it still fails after I put in place APC PNET1GB ethernet surge protectors at each end before the line connects to the respective switches. So I find myself wondering if I simply need to find a better surge protector that doesn't degrade the signal as much (if so, what kind would you recommend?) or if I should give up on copper and use fiber between the buildings. If I opt to go the latter route, I could really use some pointers. It looks like LC connectors are the most common, but I keep running into some others as well. A media converter on each end seems like the simplest solution, but perhaps a Gig-E switch with an SFP port would make more sense? Given a very limited budget, sticking with my existing copper seems best, but if it is bound to be a headache, a 100 meter fiber cable is something I think I can swing cost wise.

    I'm trying to install PEAR on OS X. I did this: curl http://pear.php.net/go-pear > go-pear.php php go-pear.php After answering some prompts, I start getting tons of errors like this: Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /Users/jacobweber/bin/pear/temp/PEAR.php on line 563 PHP Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /Users/jacobweber/bin/pear/temp/PEAR.php on line 566 Now, I understand what these errors mean. I just want to hide them. So in my /private/etc/php.ini file, I have the following: error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_STRICT & ~E_DEPRECATED This hides those same errors in my own code. But in PEAR it doesn't. They seem to be changing the error_reporting level. Is there a good way to fix this?
