I see that if we change the HOME(linux) or USERPROFILE(windows) environmental variable and run a python script, it returns the new value as the user home when I tried,
os.environ['HOME']
os.exp
Is there any way to find the real user home directory without relying on the environmental variable?. Thanx.
So I am working on a gridview that uses the order number to order the table.
However, my users are able to ad a row. What i want is something similar to pages that have the arrows next to each row and the user can click up if they want that row to go up. I also want it to change the actual number in the row column. for the one being moved and for the other one being affected. I hope i am being clear enough
So our web server apps need to connect to the database, and some other apps have startup scripts that execute at boot time.
What's the best way to store the name/password for these applications, in terms of
security, e.g. perhaps we don't want sysadmins to know the database password
maintainability, e.g. making the configuration easy to change when the password changes, etc.
both windows and linux solutions appreciated!
I will be creating flatfiles and based on the data in the batch, it might be necessary to split the data into an undetermined number of files.
I can make the connection string dynamic with an expression, but that is only evaluated when the package starts. I'd like to change that expression to include a '-a' or '-b' in the filename.
Alternately, if I have to create new connection manager objects at run time on demand, how do I go about that?
I use ASP .NET and Facebook Connect APIs. but when I run the app and press Connect button it's return to the Website not to the test local server which is (http://localhost:xxxx/test.aspx)

Hi,
I have following case: I want to use uncompressed js/css files during development (to debug js for example) but on production I want to switch automatically to minified versions of that files.
some simple solution is to put in your template:
<script src="some_js.{% if not debug %}min.{% endif %}js"....
but this require manully providing that such file exist and to do minifaction manullay after original file change.
How do you accomplish this in your projects? Is there any tool for this?
I know that by typing the following: :%s/iwanthis/replacedbythis/g will change all the matching words of the file. How can I do the same for all the files within a folder?
(actually replacing a lot of words like this: padding-bottom:5px;)
in .NET (and WPF), I need to monitor changes on a Timespan object which doesn't include any change event like PropertyChanged. What would be the best way to add this functionnality?
I have some PHP creating automatic Twitter updates, which in the small print at the bottom reads "[date/n minutes ago] via API".
Is it possible to somehow change the "via API" part to something more useful and descriptive?
Is the sourcecode of riched32.dll or riched20.dll available somewhere
If not - what could I do if i want to create a richedit textfield that behaves slightly different (like changing the control for the scrollbars, such that i can change the size and positions of them from outside)
thanks
Hi,
I need to give my user a web interface to change the session timeout interval. So, each installation of the application might have different timeouts for their sessions, but they web.xml cannot be different.
Is there a way to set the session timeout programatically, so that I could use, say, ServletContextListener.contextInitialized() to read the configured interval and set it upon application startup?
Thanks a lot.
Is it possible to perform unittest tests via a web interface...and if so how?
EDIT:
For now I want the results...for the tests I want them to be automated...possibly every time I make a change to the code. Sorry I forgot to make this more clear
I have a Java web app that I develop on a Windows machine and will deploy on a Unix machine.
There are some file path settings and permissions details that differ on the two (and there is nothing I can do to change this). Is there some way of detecting which machine the app is sitting on (it's only one of two), either by detecting the operating system or the computer's name so I can then using the appropriate settings.
Hi, I need to change the database name in SQL SERVER 2008 and use it in another project. However it consist hundreds of stored procedures and the name of the database should be changed in the stored procedures as well. Is there any way to do this?

For assets stored in the 'public' folder of a ruby-on-rails application is it possible to change the 'Content-Type' when running 'script/server'? For example, I am attempting to create an HTML5 application supporting offline mode, and have an 'offline.manifest'. When I run:
curl -I localhost:3000/offline.mainfest
The following header information is returned:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
...
Content-Type: text/plain
...
However, HTML5 specifications require:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
...
Content-Type: text/cache-manifest
...
I have kind of got used to it now but in the past if i had to work on a piece of code someone else had written with the brackets placed in this way I would have to go through and change it all. Why would anybody do this, I can't think of a single advantage but lots of disadvantages.
I need to change the emulator's default time zone. It worked in command line with -timezone option. But when I tried it in eclipse android's launch options. it didn't work. I set it in Window-preferences-android-launch-default emulator options. Am I setting it in a wrong place?
I'm working with client's CMS and it's adding images like this and i can't change this.
I tried IE7.js but it's not working
<img src="~/imagefolder/CF88B05B445A4D008806C8B3E2830679.png?w=400&h=300&as=1" />
I want to use unity (2.0) to resolve my dependencies in a way so that i can configure policy injection (policies, matching rules and call handlers) in the .config file.
Or an other way to put it; i want my resolved objects to be "policy enabled", so that i can add and change to policies in config without have to recompile.
Any ideas on how to do that?
In Eclipse, if I change a file programmatically, and it is open in a text editor, it doesn't always reload, not even when refreshing the resource programmatically. How can I forcibly reload the text editor from code so that it show the changed file contents?
When a vote value is changed, the form POSTs the change, then refreshes the page. This is called on the top of the page upon load:
if (isset($_POST['q'.$question_id]))
{
$user->updateQuestionVotes($question_id, $_POST['q'.$question_id]);
}
Why does it update every time I refresh after the first time? Do I need to unset it somehow?
All of the NHibernate examples I've see that use hbm files have the hbm.xml file set as an embedded resource with "do not copy" chosen in the file properties. This means that if a database column name were to change in production, the app would have to be recompiled with the changes in the hbm.xml file during build time.
Is there any way to make NHibernate load the hbm.xml files from the file system at application startup instead of using an embedded version?
