    - by Hector Ramos
We have some COBOL programs running on our mainframe and we need one of those to communicate with our back end vault through a Java API. Is there any way a Cobol program can invoke the Java program? Would it be possible to use a Web Service from Cobol? How would I integrate a Cobol program with anything else?

When I insert a record to the master table using BCP, how can I use the newly created ID from the master table to insert in the related child tables (May be BCP again)? Will it be possible? I may be able to set identity off, but, will it work? Thanks Joseph

  • Getting current culture day names in .NET

    - by cxfx
Is it possible to get the CurrentCulture's weekdays from DateTimeFormatInfo, but returning Monday as first day of the week instead of Sunday. And, if the current culture isn't English (i.e. the ISO code isn't "en") then leave it as default. By default CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.DateTimeFormat.DayNames returns: [0]: "Sunday" [1]: "Monday" [2]: "Tuesday" [3]: "Wednesday" [4]: "Thursday" [5]: "Friday" [6]: "Saturday" But I need: [0]: "Monday" [1]: "Tuesday" [2]: "Wednesday" [3]: "Thursday" [4]: "Friday" [5]: "Saturday" [6]: "Sunday"

  • When overriding initWithCoder is it always necessary to call [super initWithCoder: coder]

    - by Evan
In this code I am loading a View Controller (and associated View) from a .xib: -(id)initWithCoder:(NSCoder *)coder { [super initWithCoder:coder]; return self; } This successfully works, but I do not really understand what the line [super initWithCoder:coder] is accomplishing. Is that initializing my View Controller after my View has been initialized? Please be as explicit as possible when explaining. Thanks.

  • How to set cookies with redirect in Pylons

    - by user136589
In light of the cookie-handling bugs affecting Safari and Chrome (see this thread), and Pylons implementation of redirect_to as an exception, is it possible to reliably set a tracking cookie and redirect at the same time? Is the META refresh method looked down upon?

  • Enable --hyperling-source for "cabal install"

    - by user263407
The command cabal haddock has very useful --hyperlink-source option. I would like to have the source hyperlinked when building documentation with cabal install. The ticket #517 seems to be just about it: http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/hackage/ticket/517 However, perhaps it is possible to set this flag via ~/.cabal/config file? If not, how can I get working cabal-install build with the patch from #517 without installing Cabal-0.9, which is currently mandatory (due to one patch from December)?

  • Turning .NET executable into native executable

    - by lmsasu
Hello all, Is there any approach to convert an application developed in .NET into a native executable (sources are included)? Installing the whole framework (up to .NET Framework 3.5 SP1) takes a lot of time - not always the computers are updated from the internet. Is it possible to call NGen in order to produce independent executables? Thanks

I;m trying to get WCF Silverlight faults working as per this : MSDN aricle After adding the SL fault to my Web.config file I get the following warning: The element 'behavior' has invalid child element 'silverlightFaults'. List of possible elements expected: 'serviceAuthorization, serviceCredentials, serviceMetadata, serviceSecurityAudit, serviceThrottling, dataContractSerializer, serviceDebug, serviceTimeouts, persistenceProvider, workflowRuntime'. Ignoring the warning doesn't work and my Silverlight application cannot add the WCF service. Any ideas?

  • Sharing transactions between web applications, which run in the same cluster

    - by pihentagy
We (will) have the following architecture: Base.war will be a self-contained spring-hibernate application All applications will run under Glassfish, and may be clustered E1.war will sit on top of Base.war, extending it's functionality There could be further extensions (E2.war, E3.war, …) sitting on top of Base.war Either wars could start a transaction, and transactions could span between wars Without shutting down Base.war, or any other Ex.war, it should be possible to upgrade an Ey.war Is there a solution for this with spring-hibernate-glassfish environment?

  • insert multiple rows via a php array into mysql

    - by toofarsideways
I'm passing a large dataset into a mysql table via php using insert commands and I'm wondering if its possible to insert approximately 1000 rows at a time via a query other than appending each value on the end of an mile long string and then executing it. I am using the codeigniter framework so its functions are also available to me.

  • Font Family Selection With Google Charts?

    - by mazniak
Is it possible to set font-family for any of the non-flash Google chart visualizations? Specifically for things like the text on the chart axis. Google charts is powerful, but ugly. And unfortunately I can’t move to something nicer, like gRaphael.
