  • Substring a text since the target founded

    - by user580463
    I have a search on my php page and it is ok. With my search result, I highlighted the string target on my content. $search_tag_text = @preg_replace("/($mysearch)/i", "<u style=\"color:red\">$1</u>", $row->txtContent); Ok, but is it possible, after having found a string target on my content, to show 20 words before and 20 words after, instead listing all my content? Any help will be appreciated.

  • Passing ActionListeners in Java, pack()

    - by Crystal
    Two questions. First question is I'm trying to create a simple form that when you press a button, it adds a Person object to the ArrayList. However, since I am not used to GUIs, I tried creating one and am first just trying to get the user input from the JTextField, create an ActionListener object of the appropriate type, so once that works, then I can pass in all the JTextField inputs to create my Person object. Unfortunately, I am not getting any data when I type in something to the firstName JTextField and was wondering if someone could look at my code below. import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import java.util.List; import java.util.ArrayList; public class AddressBook { public static void main(String[] args) { EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { AddressBookFrame frame = new AddressBookFrame(); JMenuItem saveAsItem = new JMenuItem("Save As"); JMenuItem printItem = new JMenuItem("Print"); JMenuItem exitItem = new JMenuItem("Exit"); fileMenu.add(openItem); fileMenu.add(saveItem); fileMenu.add(saveAsItem); fileMenu.add(printItem); fileMenu.add(exitItem); menuBar.add(fileMenu); JMenu editMenu = new JMenu("Edit"); JMenuItem newItem = new JMenuItem("New"); JMenuItem editItem = new JMenuItem("Edit"); JMenuItem deleteItem = new JMenuItem("Delete"); System.out.println("Test" + text); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { System.out.println("Hello" + name); } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } private String name; } } Second question is, how do I make my form not take up the whole center space. I don't like the stretch look and was hoping the JTextFields could be just one line long, not a big box. Same thing with the buttons. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  • HTML tags in ojective c programming

    - by user1661826
    Is there any function in Objective-C to print a list of elements as unordered HTML elements. For ex - [@"a--b-c---d" htmlList: @"--"] returns @ "ab-c-d" the "--" is the delimiter to seperate the string of elements. I have used NSSArray to store the input string and function componentsSeperatedByString:@"--" to get the elements. How do I go ahead in adding the HTML tags li and /li between elements and ul and /ul at the end of the entire list? Please help, Im a beginner in objective -C

  • In MVC framworks (such as Ruby on Rails), do usually Model spell as singular and controller and view

    - by Jian Lin
    I usually see Ruby on Rails books using script/generate model Story name:string link:string which is a singular Story, while when it is controller script/generate controller Stories index then the Story now is Stories, which is plural. Is this a standard on Ruby on Rails? Is it true in other MVC frameworks too, like CakePHP, Symfony, Django, or TurboGears? I see that in the book Rails Space, the controller is also called User, which is the same as the model name, and it is the only exception I see.

  • How does Response.Redirect calculate the URL for "~/folder1/folder2/some.aspx"

    - by Chris Marisic
    This might sound like a trivial problem but for some reason it is not. Instead of needing to redirect Response.Redirect("~/folder1/folder2/some.aspx") I need the location as if it behaved like string navigatingUrl = Response.Redirect("~/folder1/folder2/some.aspx") Trying to replicate this I started with string navigatingUrl = new Uri(HttpContext.Current.Request.Url, new Uri("~/folder1/folder2/some.aspx", UriKind.Relative)); This instead generates "http://www.fullRequestUrl/~/folder1/folder2/some.aspx"

  • File sorting, Comparison method violates its general contract

    - by user2677383
    My file sorting comparator sometimes invoke java.lang.IllegalArgumentException in android app. I cannot figure out the reason. could you explain that? here is my code block: Comparator cc = new Comparator<File>() { @Override public int compare(File f1, File f2) { if (f1.isDirectory() && !f2.isDirectory()) { return 1; } if (f2.isDirectory() && !f1.isDirectory()) { return -1; } if ((f1.isFile() && f2.isFile()) || (f1.isDirectory() && f2.isDirectory())) { if (sort == 1) { return Util.compareFileName(f2.getName(), f1.getName()); } else if (sort == 2) { return (int) (f1.lastModified() - f2.lastModified()); } else if (sort == 3) { return (int) (f2.lastModified() - f1.lastModified()); } else if (sort == 4) { return (int) (f1.length() - f2.length()); } else if (sort == 5) { return (int) (f2.length() - f1.length()); } else return Util.compareFileName(f1.getName(), f2.getName()); } return f1.compareTo(f2); } }; Util.compareFileName is as followings: public static int compareFileName(String s1, String s2) { int thisMarker = 0; int thatMarker = 0; int s1Length = s1.length(); int s2Length = s2.length(); while (thisMarker < s1Length && thatMarker < s2Length) { String thisChunk = getChunk(s1, s1Length, thisMarker); thisMarker += thisChunk.length(); String thatChunk = getChunk(s2, s2Length, thatMarker); thatMarker += thatChunk.length(); // If both chunks contain numeric characters, sort them numerically int result = 0; if (isDigit(thisChunk.charAt(0)) && isDigit(thatChunk.charAt(0))) { // Simple chunk comparison by length. int thisChunkLength = thisChunk.length(); result = thisChunkLength - thatChunk.length(); // If equal, the first different number counts if (result == 0) { for (int i = 0; i < thisChunkLength; i++) { result = thisChunk.charAt(i) - thatChunk.charAt(i); if (result != 0) { return result; } } } } else { result = thisChunk.compareTo(thatChunk); } if (result != 0) return result; } return s1Length - s2Length; }

  • Is There A Way To Apply CODE Formatting To A VB.Net TextBox?

    - by Jeff
    I'm playing with a simple string replacement editor for editing VB.Net functions outside of VB. Is there a way to apply VB.Net code formatting to a string? For example. The txtboxCodeEntry looks like this: If strVar="dummy" then 1 else 0 Endif I would like it to "autoformat" to: If strVar = "dummy" Then 1 Else 0 End If The formatting would match whatever formatting VB.Net does when you're editing code in the Visual Studio IDE. Thanks.

  • Dealing with C++ web views

    - by Jeffrey
    I'm working, as an hobby (before any one rage out of their mind, I'm just trying to study C++ regarding something I love: web. I'm not trying to reinvent your precious wheel, and I'm not trying to create the new web technology. I just have the time to go for it.), creating a web CGI C++ library. I'm at a pretty good point, but in the future I see one big problem: views. I'm used to the great <body><?php echo "Hey!"; ?></body> embedded php, but there's no such thing in C++, so I'm wondering: How would you deal with views? Would you create a simple find-replace-variable templating system and deal with thousands of partial views? For example: View view; view.load("header.html"); view.load("nav.html"); view.load("post_start.html"); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { std::map<std::string, std::string> post; Post p(i); post = p.get(); view.load(post_view.html, post); // p is passed as argument and every `{% varname %}` in the html will be replaced with its value inside the map } view.load(post_end.html); view.load(footer); Would you create a simple templating system? So that we can deal with this C++ code: std::vector<std::map<std::string, std::string>> posts; Posts p; posts = p.getAll(); view.load(posts.html, posts); and then this HTML/TPL: <html> ... <body> <h2> Posts </h2> {% for (i = 0; i < 10; i++): %} <div class="post">...</div> {% endfor %} </body> </html> Is there any other way? What is the best way to do this? (And no, I don't think this is subjective question)

  • How to write native SQL queries in Hibernate without hardcoding table names and fields?

    - by serg555
    Sometimes you have to write some of your queries in native SQL rather than hibernate HQL. Is there a nice way to avoid hardcoding table names and fields and get this data from existing mapping? For example instead of: String sql = "select user_name from tbl_user where user_id = :id"; something like: String sql = "select " + Hibernate.getFieldName("user.name") + " from " + Hibernate.getTableName(User.class) + " where " + Hibernate.getFieldName("user.id") + " = :id";

    - by Shuo
    Hey,everyone I have a string 'some.file.name',I want to grab 'some.file'. To do that,I need to find the last occurrence of '.' in a string. My solution is : declare @someStr varchar(20) declare @reversedStr varchar(20) declare @index int set @someStr = '001.002.003' set @reversedStr = reverse(@someStr) set @index = len(@someStr) - charindex('.',@reversedStr) select left(@someStr,@index) Well,isn't it too complicated?I was just intented to using 'some.file' in a where-clause. Anyone has a good idea?

  • Sending Data as Instances using Python Sockets

    I'm working on the networking part of a 2 player game (similar to tetris), and I'm trying to pass the game grid from client to server and vice versa. However, when I tried using send(grid) I get a TypeError: send() argument 1 must be string or read-only buffer, not instance. Is there anyway to circumvent this, or do I have to convert my grid instance into a string and then interpret it from the other side? Thanks in advance!
