• Problems wih minSdkVersion 1.5

  Hello, we have a problem related to the manifest file and the property "android:minSdkVersion". The issue is: If our platform is 2.0 and we use the property "android:minSdkVersion=3" (3 = sdk 1.5) the graphics get corrupted (In details, the application's resolution get reduced to a 2/3 part of the original size, this is, when the resolution should be 480x720, it becomes in a 320x480). This is happening on the Android emulator, and on the devices Droid/Milestone (Which are platforms 2.0). When we switch the property to "android:minSdkVersion=4" (4 = sdk 1.6) the problem gets solved, but when we want to put that version on platform 1.5, Android doesn't allow us to install it. It would help us to know any conflict regarding graphics within the 2.0 sdk, or any known problem around the "android:minSdkVersion" in the manifest. Thanks!

  Hi, I have some issues with my email -body when i send mails I'm using php in my site. My website is a spanish site , when ever i send a mail some special characters are comming in that mail.   I made a code for generate a graph with 379613734 edges. But the code couldn't be finished because of memory. It takes about 97% of server memory when it go through 62 million lines. • Jquery cross-fade rollover problems in IE7

  I built some cross fade rollovers in IE7 using this single image technique: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/image-cross-fade-transition/ It works by placing the rollover image in the background and fading the original image state when the user rollovers the image. IE7 hates it. The rollover state shows up directly below the original image. You can check it out here: http://hardtopdepot.com/dev/inner.html It should be pretty obvious in IE7 but the add to cart buttons are suppossed to be Jquery rollovers. I am by no means a JS expert so Im not sure how to go about solving this problem, any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks-

• Qt/C++, Problems with large QImage

  I'm pretty new to C++/Qt and I'm trying to create an application with Visual Studio C++ and Qt (4.8.3). The application displays images using a QGraphicsView, I need to change the images at pixel level. The basic code is (simplified): QImage* img = new QImage(img_width,img_height,QImage::Format_RGB32); while(do_some_stuff) { img->setPixel(x,y,color); } QGraphicsPixmapItem* pm = new QGraphicsPixmapItem(QPixmap::fromImage(*img)); QGraphicsScene* sc = new QGraphicsScene; sc->setSceneRect(0,0,img->width(),img->height()); sc->addItem(pm); ui.graphicsView->setScene(sc); This works well for images up to around 12000x6000 pixel. The weird thing happens beyond this size. When I set img_width=16000 and img_height=8000, for example, the line img = new QImage(...) returns a null image. The image data should be around 512,000,000 bytes, so it shouldn't be too large, even on a 32 bit system. Also, my machine (Win 7 64bit, 8 GB RAM) should be capable of holding the data. I've also tried this version: uchar* imgbuf = (uchar*) malloc(img_width*img_height*4); QImage* img = new QImage(imgbuf,img_width,img_height,QImage::Format_RGB32); At first, this works. The img pointer is valid and calling img-width() for example returns the correct image width (instead of 0, in case the image pointer is null). But as soon as I call img-setPixel(), the pointer becomes null and img-width() returns 0. So what am I doing wrong? Or is there a better way of modifying large images on pixel level? Regards, David

• Problems with ASP.NET, machine-level web.config, and the location element

  I've got a server running Windows Web Server 2008 R2. The machine-level web.config has the following entries: <location path="Preview"> <appSettings> <add key="Environment" value="Preview" /> </appSettings> </location> <location path="Staging"> <appSettings> <add key="Environment" value="Staging" /> </appSettings> </location> <location path="Production"> <appSettings> <add key="Environment" value="Production" /> </appSettings> </location> I have a website that I'd set up in the direction D:\Sites\Preview\, so the full path would be D:\Sites\Preview\WebSite1. If I put a simple aspx file that just outputs the value of ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["Environment"], it displays the value Preview. I'm not clear on exactly how that works, but it does. I'd set this up several weeks ago, and just now tried to duplicate this - I put a second site in the D:\Sites\Preview\ directory, expecting that it would automatically pick up the appropriate appSettings entries, but for some reason it hasn't - the same aspx page doesn't show anything. Additionally, when I go into the IIS manager and open the Configuration Editor, there are no settings in there, whereas there are settings listed for the first site. Any ideas as to what I could be missing? Is the location element intended to work like this, or did I just find some magical fluke with my first site?

• Running Solr on VPS problems

  I have a VPS with Ubuntu OS. I run solr om my local machine (windows xp laptop) just fine. I have configured Jetty, and Solr just the same way as on my computer, but on the server. I have also downloaded the JRE and installed it on the server. However, whenever I try to run the start.jar file, the PuTTY terminal shows a bunch of text but gets stuck. I could pase the text here but it is very long, so unless somebody wants to see it I wont. Also, I cant view the solr admin page at all. Does anybody have experience in this kind of problem? Maybe java isn't correctly installed? It is a VPS so maybe installation is different.   Hello, I added a table view into a view in interface builder and now I need to wire it up to some pre-made classes that you can generate in xcode. I set the tableview controller's class to the class in xcode and wired the dataSource and delegate to my table view but the app just crashes. Im not sure how to get data to properly load into my table view when using a tableview in a different view. If anyone knows how to do this any help is appreciated. Thanks

• Problems compiling libjingle/gtk+-2.0 for Mac OS X

  Hi All, I'm trying to compile libjingle on Mac OSX Snow Leopard. The INSTALL file said to './configure', 'make' and 'make install', as usual. But make fails for me. Initially it gave some messages indicating that I didn't have pkg-config installed (I guess OSX doesn't come with it installed?), so I downloaded pkg-config from http://pkgconfig.freedesktop.org/releases/ Now I get this message: Package gtk+-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtk+-2.0.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'gtk+-2.0' found I tried to install gtk by using the script at SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gtk-osx/ (this is the website pointed to by the gtk website) Running the script didn't really seem to do anything, here is the output: $./gtk-osx-build-setup.sh Checking out jhbuild (2.27.3) from git... From git://git.gnome.org/jhbuild * tag 2.27.3 -> FETCH_HEAD Installing jhbuild... Installing jhbuild configuration... Installing gtk-osx moduleset files... • Problems Using memset and memcpy

  So I am trying to create a Memory Management System. In order to do this I have a set amount of space (allocated by malloc) and then I have a function myMalloc which will essentially return a pointer to the space allocated. Since we will then try and free it, we are trying to set a header of the allocated space to be the size of the allocated space, using memset. memset(memPtr,sizeBytes,sizeof(int)); We then need to be able to read this so we can see the size of it. We are attempting to do this by using memcpy and getting the first sizeof(int) bytes into a variable. For testing purposes we are just trying to do memset and then immediately get the size back. I've included the entire method below so that you can see all declarations. Any help would be greatly appreciated! • Android multiple screen sizes and density problems

  I'm having a real problem with my drawables that I just can't seem to figure out. The problem is this: There are screen sizes at approximately 320x480, 480x800, 480x854 Then there are most commonly densities at 1.0 (160) and 1.5 (240) Now, on a Droid, the screen size is 480x800 and the density is reporting using DisplayMetrics as 1.5 On the G1, it's 320x480 and reporting back at a density of 1.0 BUT tablet devices are reporting back at 480x800 with a density of 1.0 (160) So, I'm going mad because I can put 320x480 images in the drawables-mdpi folder and 480x800 images in the drawables-hdpi folder, but on Tablet computers, no matter what it's not resizing up anything to a full screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want all of my 320x480 images to scale up regardless of the device.

  I am having some issues involving Parallel for loops and adding to a List. The problem is, the same code may generate different output at different times. I have set up some test code below. In this code, I create a List of 10,000 int values. 1/10th of the values will be 0, 1/10th of the values will be 1, all the way up to 1/10th of the values being 9. After setting up this List, I setup a Parallel for loop that iterates through the list. If the current number is 0, I add a value to a new List. After the Parallel for loop completes, I output the size of the list. The size should always be 1,000. Most of the time, the correct answer is given. However, I have seen 3 possible incorrect outcomes occur: The size of the list is less than 1,000 An IndexOutOfRangeException occurs @ doubleList.Add(0.0); An ArgumentException occurs @ doubleList.Add(0.0); The message for the ArgumentException given was: Destination array was not long enough. Check destIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds. What could be causing the errors? Is this a .Net bug? Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? Please try the code for yourself. If you do not get an error, try it a few times.   Hi, I am trying to compress multiple files into a single zip archive and I am running into low memory warning. Since the complete zip file is loaded into the memory I guess that's the problem. • c++ webservice having problems with Mozilla Firefox browser

  Hi , About Problem:- We have a webservice written in c++.And we use cgi scripts in HTML pages to run our own exe which will output HTML. With IE i am not seeing any problem. But With Mozilla FireFox 3.0 there is error showing up as " You have chosen to open gefebt.exe which is a : Application from http:\3.212.219.180\test Would you like to save this file" Also i did some investigation :- i have created a virtual directory using IIS where when i click hyperlink i have made gefebt.exe to execute. With IIS there is no problem untill Execute Permissions is set to "Scripts and Executables" . If i select scripts i could see the same message in IE and mozilla plugin. At the same time i not seeing any difference with the code of Webservice. The way we are reffering the executable in HTML is href=gefebt.exe?xyz.bclInvoke xyz.bcl - I have also tries with IFrames and frames .

• iPhone: Problems releasing UIViewController in a multithreaded environment

  Hi! I have a UIViewController and in that controller, i am fetching an image from a URL source. The image is fetched in a separate thread after which the user-interface is updated on the main thread. This controller is displayed as a page in a UIScrollView parent which is implemented to release controllers that are not in view anymore. When the thread finishes fetching content before the UIViewController is released, everything works fine - but when the user scrolls to another page before the thread finishes, the controller is released and the only handle to the controller is owned by the thread making releaseCount of the controller equals to 1. Now, as soon as the thread drains NSAutoreleasePool, the controller gets releases because the releaseCount becomes 0. At this point, my application crashes and i get the following error message: bool _WebTryThreadLock(bool), 0x4d99c60: Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread. Crashing now... The backtrace reveals that the application crashed on the call to [super dealloc] and it makes total sense because the dealloc function must have been triggered by the thread when the pool was drained. My question is, how i can overcome this error and release the controller without leaking memory? One solution that i tried was to call [self retain] before the pool is drained so that retainCount doesn't fall to zero and then using the following code to release controller in the main thread: [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(autorelease) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; Unfortunately, this did not work out.
