    the thing is that there are number of items in the html select list,what i want to do is to click on any of the item, then query the database on the id of that item. retrieve the value and then display that in the textbox, how would i query the database? Then I decided to implement these in the myClick() function: function myClick( id ) { google.maps.event.trigger(markers[id], 'click'); $('.places li').removeClass('selected'); $(this).parent().addClass('selected'); } The problem is that I cannot use $(this) to add class to its parent li. See what I have tried here. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
