  • How to notify a Windows .net service from PHP on Linux?

    I'm writing a service in C# on Windows which should be triggert by an PHP driven web frontend, which runs on Linux. Both processes share the same SQL Server 2005 database. There is no messaging middleware available atm. The PHP process inserts an row in a SQL Server table. The Windows process should read this entry and process it. I have no experience in PHP, so what would you suggest to notify the Windows process?

I would like to read both success and failure stories here. Both long tries and short ones. My goal is to find ways of presenting Scala to another person, friend, co-worker (not an audience) that will make them want to use this great language.

There I have to specify the select statement with the name of the sheet I wish to read ([Sheet1$]). this.dataAdapter = new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]", connectionString); Is it possible to select the first sheet, no matter what name?     Hello, I just found something that I never heard of before and I do not agree with (by now). In an (upvoted and not further commented) answer I read "why to mix class and interfaces in the same package" So I wonder, if there are reasons to separate Interfaces and implementations in Java. I know that we are not obliged to have all implementations in the package of the interface, but is it (sometimes) wise to have none there? Regards Mike [;-)

    I read in another question that you can increase the JRE memory allowance for an app through Window - Preferences in Eclipse, but I can't seem to find anything related to heap memory allocation. Editing -xms/xmx values in eclipse.ini doesn't help since those are for Eclipse itself.

  • 301 redirects in .htaccess on apache

    I guess this should be straightforward but my host got me to switch server from zeus to apache following which the .htaccess file with existing individual 301 redirects failed to work causing an internal server error, so have commented them out for the time being. Could someone explain how to set these up to work in their new apache context? Have no apache experience Example redirect: Redirect 301 /pages/exhibitions/thegreatindoors.html http://www.klassnik.com/pages/thegreatindoors.html Read a lot about mod rewrites etc but not sure what to write. We have been able to accomplish this in Firefox, but it doesn't appear to be supported at all in IE. From what I've read, IE won't support this. But I'm wondering if there's anything else I could try. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

    hi, I'm using hillelcoren:AutoComplete component (hillelcoren.com/flex-autocomplete) in my Flex application. It is really cool, however the text attribute doesn't work: <hillelcoren:AutoComplete id="filterTag" dataProvider="{ dataManager.retrievedTagsList }" labelField="name" keyUp="filterItems(filterTag.searchText)" /> while for the normal TextInput component it works: <mx:TextInput id="filterTag" width="100%" keyUp="filterItems(filterTag.text)" /> 1) I've tried keyUp="Alert.show(filterTag.searchText)" and I can read the text 2) I've tried filterItems(filterTag.text.toString())... still not working 3) the filterItems function works, because it works with a normal TextInput thanks

    This is the code I've seen so far to delete last 3 lines in a text file, but it's required to determine string[] lines = File.ReadAllLines(); which is nt necessary for me to do so. string[] lines = File.ReadAllLines(@"C:\\Users.txt"); StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); int count = lines.Length - 3; // except last 3 lines for (int s = 0; s < count; s++) { sb.AppendLine(lines[s]); } The code works well, but I don't wanna re-read the file as I've mentioned the streamreader above : using (StreamReader r = new StreamReader(@"C:\\Users.txt")) Im new to C#, as far as I know, after using streamreader, and if I wanna modify the lines, I have to use this : while ((line = r.ReadLine()) != null) { #sample codes inside the bracket line = line.Replace("|", ""); line = line.Replace("MY30", ""); line = line.Replace("E", ""); } So, is there any way to delete the last 3 lines in the file within the "while ((line = r.ReadLine()) != null)" ?? I have to delete lines, replace lines and a few more modications in one shot, so I can't keep opening/reading the same text file again and again to modify the lines.
