• "Unrecognized configuration section connectionStrings" in app.exe.config

    - by Richard Bysouth
Hi On a Terminal Server install of my WinForms app, one of my clients gets the following exception on startup: "Unrecognized configuration section connectionStrings" This is occurring in myapp.exe.config but I can't figure out why. Runs perfectly everywhere else, only difference between this install and any other is the connection string. I've searched around, but can only find this issue relating to ASP.NET apps and issues in web.config. Any ideas what could be broken in the config of this WinForms app though? Is it indicating a problem further up in machine.config? FYI the top part of myapp.exe.config is: <configuration> <configSections> <sectionGroup name="applicationSettings" type="System.Configuration.ApplicationSettingsGroup, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=jjjjjjjjjj">
</sectionGroup> <sectionGroup name="userSettings" type="System.Configuration.UserSettingsGroup, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=jjjjjjjjj">
</sectionGroup> </configSections> <connectionStrings> <add name="MyApp.DataAccessLayer.Settings.MyConnectionString" connectionString="$$$$$$" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> </connectionStrings> ... thanks Richard

  • C# WPF XAML binding to DataTable

    - by LnDCobra
I have the following tables: Company {CompanyID, CompanyName} Deal {CompanyID, Value} And I have a listbox: <ListBox Name="Deals" Height="100" Width="420" Margin="0,20,0,0" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Visibility="Visible" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding}" SelectionChanged="Deals_SelectionChanged"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK.CompanyName}" FontWeight="Bold" /> <TextBlock Text=" -> TGS -> " /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding BuyFrom}" FontWeight="Bold" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> As you can see, I want to display the CompanyName rather then the ID which is a foreign Key. The relation "companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK" exists, as in Deals_SelectionChanged I can access companyRowByBuyFromCompanyFK property of the Deals row, and I also can access the CompanyName propert of that row. Is the reason why this is not working because XAML binding uses the [] indexer? Rather than properties on the CompanyRows in my DataTable? At the moment im getting values such as - TGS - 3 - TGS - 4 What would be the best way to accomplish this? Make a converter to convert foreign keys using Table being referenced as custom parameter. Create Table View for each table? This would be long winded as I have quite a large number of tables that have foreign keys.

  • WPF ICommand over a button

    - by toni
I have implemented a custom IComand class for one of my buttons. The button is placed in a page 'MyPage.xaml' but its custom ICommand class is placed in another class, not in the MyPage code behind. Then from XAML I want to bind the button with its custom command class and then I do: MyPage.xaml: <Page ...> <Page.CommandBindings> <CommandBinding Command="RemoveAllCommand" CanExecute="CanExecute" Executed="Execute" /> </Page.CommandBindings> <Page.InputBindings> <MouseBinding Command="RemoveAllCommand" MouseAction="LeftClick" /> </Page.InputBindings> <...> <Button x:Name="MyButton" Command="RemoveAllCommand" .../> <...> </Page> and the custom command button class: // Here I derive from MyPage class because I want to access some objects from // Execute method public class RemoveAllCommand : MyPage, ICommand { public void Execute(Object parameter) { <...> } public bool CanExecute(Object parameter) { <...> } public event EventHandler CanExecuteChanged { add { CommandManager.RequerySuggested += value; } remove { CommandManager.RequerySuggested -= value; } } } My problem is how to say MyPage.xaml that Execute and CanExecute methods for the button is in another class and not the code behind where is placed the button. How to say these methods are in RemoveAllCommand Class in XAML page. Also I want to fire this command when click mouse event is produced in the button so I do an input binding, is it correct? Thanks

  • Passing in defaults within window.onload?

    - by Matrym
I now understand that the following code will not work because I'm assigning window.onload to the result of the function, not the function itself. But if I remove the parens, I suspect that I have to explicitly call a separate function to process the config before the onload. So, where I now have:

test

I imagine I would have to change it to: var lbp = { defaults: { color: "blue" }, configs: function(config){ for(prop in config){ setBgcolor.defaults[prop] = config[prop]; } }, init: function() { var bod = document.body; bod.style.backgroundColor = setBgcolor.defaults.color; } } var config = { color: "green" } lbp.configs(config); window.onload = lbp.init; Then, for people to use this script and pass in a configuration, they would need to call both of those bottom lines separately (configs and init). Is there a better way of doing this? Note: If your answer is to bundle a function of window.onload, please also confirm that it is not hazardous to assign window.onload within scripts. It's my understanding that another script coming after my own could, in fact, overwrite what I'd assigned to onload.

  • Could not load type in Custom Profile provider

    - by Cragly
I am writing a small console application in C# that references a custom assembly that implements custom .net Profile provider. I have added the following sections to my app.config file which references the custom class and assembly. <system.web> <profile defaultProvider="MyCompanyProfileProvider" inherits="MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile" automaticSaveEnabled="false"> <providers> <clear/> <add name="MyCompanyProfileProvider" connectionStringName="defaultDatabase" applicationName="/myApplication" type="MyCompany.Web.ProfileProvider, MyCompany.Web"/> </providers> <properties> <add name="JobRoleId" type="System.Int32"/> <add name="LastCompetencyId" type="System.Int32" defaultValue="0"/> <add name="MixSettings" type="System.Xml.XmlDocument"/> </properties> </profile></system.web> However when I run the app in debug mode I get the following error as if it is looking in the System.Web assembly rather than one specified in the app.config file. Could not load type 'MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile' from assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. I have a local web app that also uses the assembly and custom Profile provider and that work without any problems. I have checked the referenced assembly is being copied to the output directory. Any ideas??

  • How to validate selects / inserts are hitting the right server with MySQL Master/Slave

    - by bwizzy
    I've got a rails app using the master_slave_adapter plugin (http://github.com/mauricio/master_slave_adapter/tree/master) to send all selects to a slave, and all other statements to the master. Replication is setup using Mysql master / slave. I'm trying to validate that all the SQL statements are indeed going to the right place. Selects to the slave (db2), inserts to the master (db1) but I'm not sure how to do it. I've tried using tcpdump on the webservers: sudo /usr/sbin/tcpdump -q -i eth0 dst port 3306 and this is the output for a page request with a ton of selects: 10:32:36.570930 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 0 10:32:36.576805 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 0 10:32:36.577201 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 0 10:32:36.577980 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 86 10:32:36.578186 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 21 10:32:36.578359 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 27 10:32:36.578522 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 5 10:32:36.578741 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 13 10:32:36.579611 IP web2.mydomain.com.57524 > db1.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 29 10:32:36.588201 IP web2.mydomain.com.45978 > db2.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 0 10:32:36.588323 IP web2.mydomain.com.45978 > db2.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 0 10:32:36.588677 IP web2.mydomain.com.45978 > db2.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 0 10:32:36.588784 IP web2.mydomain.com.45978 > db2.mydomain.com.mysql: tcp 86 It doesn't look like all the selects are going to the slave. Maybe this isn't the right way to test, anyone know a better way?

  • Problem creating simple "windows script components" on Windows 7.

    - by Bigtoe
Hi folks, I'm trying to get a Windows Script Component working on and x64 development machine. Works fine on x32 bit. But can't seem to get it running, I have the same problem with both JScript and VBScript. Here's the most simple wsc component possible. All that it does it pop up "Hello" in a message box. If you save the snippit below to a file called test_lib.wsc, you'll then be able to right click and register it. It's now available as a COM Component. <component> <?component error="true" debug="true"?> <registration description="Test Script Library" progid="TestScript.Lib" version="1.00" classid="{314042ea-1c42-4865-956f-08d56d1f00a8}" > </registration> <public> <method name="Hello"> </method> </public> </component> Next create the following sample vb-script and save it to a file called test.vbs dim o set o = createobject("TestScript.Lib") o.hello() When I run the test.vbs with cscript or wscript I always get the following. "C:\test.vbs(3, 1) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: ActiveX component can't create object: 'TestScript.Lib'" This works perfectly fine on a 32 bit XP. Anyone got any ideas about what could be wrong? Thanks a bunch Noel.

  • How do I get my custom WPF textbox to fill correctly?

    - by Dan Ryan
I am trying to create a custom WPF textbox control that extends the standard textbox control but the extended textbox behaves differently when placed in control containers. Within my Window I have a stackpanel with a standard textbox and my extended textbox: <StackPanel Margin="10"> <TextBox Height="21" /> <l:SearchTextBox Search="SearchTextBox_Search" Height="21" Margin="0, 10, 0, 0" SearchMode="Delayed" HorizontalAlignment="Left" /> </StackPanel> The standard textbox stretches the length of the StackPanel whereas the custom textbox does not. How can I get the controls to behave the same? The styling for the custom textbox is shown below:

  • WPF UserControl weird binding problem

    - by Heko
Hello! Im usign a Ribbon Window and in the "content area beneath" I have a grid in which I will be displaying UserControls. To demonstrate my problem lets take a look at this simple UserControl: <ListView x:Name="lvPersonList"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Width="120" Header="Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Name}"/> <GridViewColumn Width="120" Header="Height" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Height}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> And the code: public partial class MyUserControl: UserControl { private List<Person> personList; public TestSnpList() { InitializeComponent(); this.personList = new List<Person>(); this.personList.Add(new Person { Name = "Chuck Norris", Height = 210 }); this.personList.Add(new Person { Name = "John Rambo", Height = 200 }); this.lvPersonList.ItemsSource = personList; } } public class Person { public string Name { get; set; } public int Height { get; set; } } The parent Window: <Grid x:Name="grdContent" DockPanel.Dock="Top"> <controls:MyUserControl x:Name="myUserControl" Visibility="Visible"/> </Grid> I don't understant why this binding doesn't work. Instead of values (Name and Height) I get full class names. If I use this code in a Window it works fine. Any ideas? I would like this user contorl works for itself (it gets the data form the DB and represents it in a ListView)... Thanks!

  • WPF - Byte Array to Hex View (similar to Notepad++ HEX-Editor plugin)

    - by tenfour
    I am using an ItemsControl to display a List<byte> in hex. The ItemsPanelTemplate is a UniformGrid with a fixed number of columns: <ItemsControl HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <UniformGrid Columns="16"/> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding StringFormat='\{0:X2\}'}" Margin="5,5,5,0"/> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> I'd like to prefix each row with an 'Address' column, just like you'd see with the Notepad++ 'HEX-Editor' plugin. That is, since I have 16 columns, each row should be prefixed something like this: 0000 [00 01 02 .... 0F] 0010 [10 11 12 .... 1F] 0020 [20 21 22 .... 2F] ... Any suggestions?

  • Diff between
and <asp:ContentPlaceHolder runat="server" ID="HeadCon

    - by justSteve
Looking for an better understanding of how an mvc project should define javascript and css includes. I'm working with sample code where includes are defined like:

<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="TitleContent" runat="server" />Affiliate Checkout
     . . . <asp:ContentPlaceHolder runat="server" ID="HeadContent"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
I'm reading that to be that _all pages looking at this MasterPage will get jquery and jqueryUI and, additionally, each page will have the opportunity to add head elements thankx to the content placeholder HeadContent tag. The specific problem i'm troubleshooting is an instance where my rendered page is not including the 'prama no-cache' tag - as you see, it's defined in the upper level header section. Other .js and .css elements are making it into the rendered page so it very confusing to see that the no-cache tag isn't. When execute a 'View Generated Source' - the 'charset' is present the 'no-cache' is not.

  • How do you build a Windows Workflow Project with NAnt 0.90?

    I'm trying to build a Windows Workflow (WF) project using NAnt, but it doesn;t seem to be able to build the ".xoml" and ".rules" files. Here is the code of the csc task that I'm using: <csc debug="${build.Debug}" warninglevel="${build.WarningLevel}" target="library" output="${path::combine(build.OutputDir,assembly.Name+'.dll')}" verbose="${build.Verbose}" doc="${path::combine(build.OutputDir,assembly.Name+'.xml')}"> <sources basedir="${assembly.BaseDir}"> <include name="**/*.cs" /> <include name="**/*.xoml" /> <include name="**/*.rules" /> </sources> <resources basedir="${assembly.BaseDir}"> <include name="**/*.xsd" /> <include name="**/*.resx" /> </resources> <references> ... </references> </csc> Here's the output: Compiling 21 files to 'c:\Output\MyWorkFlowProject.dll'.   • jQuery UI - addClass removeClass - CSS values are stuck

    - by Jason D
Hi, I'm trying to do a simple animation. You show the div. It animates correctly. You hide the div. Correct. You show the div again. It shows but there is no animation. It is stuck at the value of when you first interrupted it. So somehow the interpolation CSS that is happening during [add|remove]Class is getting stuck there. The second time around, the [add|remove]Class is actually running, but the css it's setting from the class is getting ignored (I think being overshadowed). How can I fix this WITHOUT resorting to .animate and hard-coded style values? The whole point was to put the animation end point in a css class. Thanks!

  • Passing a string in Html.ActionLink in MVC 2

    - by 109221793
I have completed the MVC Music Store application, and now am making my own modifications for practice, and also to prepare me to do similar tasks in my job. What I have done, is create a view that displays the current list of users. I have done this as I want to be able to change the passwords of users should they forget them. Here is a snippet from my view: <% foreach (MembershipUser user in Model) { %>

<%: Html.ActionLink(user.UserName, "changeUserPassword", "StoreManager", new { username = user.UserName }) %>

<%: user.LastActivityDate %>

<%: user.IsLockedOut %>

<% }%> What I want to know, is it possible to pass the username through the actionlink as I have done above. I have registered the following route in the global.asax.cs file, however I am unsure if I have done it correctly: routes.MapRoute( "AdminPassword", //Route name "{controller}/{action}/{username}", //URL with parameters new { controller = "StoreManager", action = "changeUserPassword", username = UrlParameter.Optional }); Here is my GET action: public ActionResult changeUserPassword(string username) { ViewData["username"] = username; return View(); } I have debugged through the code to find that ViewData["username"] = username doesn't populate so it looks like either I have not registered the routes properly, or I simply cannot pass the username using the actionlink like I have. I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

  • Gridview buttonfield works LinkButton doesn't

    - by Karsten
I've been fighting this problem for many hours now and could really use some help :-) This is the grid <asp:GridView ID="annonceView" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="Id" DataSourceID="dataSourceAnnoncer"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="Productname" HeaderText="Productname" /> <asp:buttonfield buttontype="Link" commandname="Delete" text="Delete"/> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Administration"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkBtnDelete" runat="server" Text="Delete" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="Delete" OnClientClick="return confirm('Delete?')" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> </asp:GridView> <asp:LinqDataSource ID="dataSourceAnnoncer" runat="server" ContextTypeName="Namespcae.TheContext" EnableDelete="True" TableName="Annoncer"> </asp:LinqDataSource> Clicking the buttonfield deletes the record just fine. Clicking the LinkButton doesn't work. I get a postback and the grid is shown as empty and no record is deleted. Seems like an empty databinding. I have tried to create a custom OnClick, OnCommand event for the LinkButton, but neither are fired. The OnRowCommand isn't fired either. I don't manually DataBind in the codebehind.

  • How i can add border to ListViewItem, ListView in GridView mode.

    - by Andrew
Hello! I want to have a border around ListViewItem (row in my case). ListView source and columns generated during Runtime. In XAML i have this structure: <ListView Name="listViewRaw"> <ListView.View> <GridView> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> During Runtime i bind listview to DataTable, adding necessary columns and bindings: var view = (listView.View as GridView); view.Columns.Clear(); for (int i = 0; i < table.Columns.Count; i++) { GridViewColumn col = new GridViewColumn(); col.Header = table.Columns[i].ColumnName; col.DisplayMemberBinding = new Binding(string.Format("[{0}]", i.ToString())); view.Columns.Add(col); } listView.CoerceValue(ListView.ItemsSourceProperty); listView.DataContext = table; listView.SetBinding(ListView.ItemsSourceProperty, new Binding()); So i want to add border around each row, and set border behavior (color etc) with DataTriggers (for example if value in 1st column = "Visible", set border color to black). Can i put border through DataTemplate in ItemTemplate? I know solution, where you manipulate with CellTemplates, but i don't really like it. I want something like this if this even possible. <DataTemplate> <Border Name="Border" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="2"> <ListViewItemRow></ListViewItemRow> </Border> </DataTemplate>

  • How to change the Struts2 validation error message in the case of an invalid field value?

    - by FarmBoy
I'm using Struts2 validation on a web form. In the case that a field is suppose to be an integer or Date, the <s:fielderror> message I receive is a generic Invalid field value for field "[fieldname]" Naturally, I want to customize this for the user. Here's an example validation: <field name="spouseDOB"> <field-validator type="date"> <message>"Spouse Date of Birth" is invalid.</message> </field-validator> <field-validator type="date"> 01/01/1900 <message>"Spouse Date of Birth" must be after 1900 AD. </field-validator> </field> The message "Spouse Date of Birth" is invalid. never appears, for any invalid date that I have tried. The output is the generic Invalid field value for field spouseDOB spouseDOB is a java.util.Date object in the action class. It is set by a <s:textfield> in the JSP.

  • Reading multiple instances of a tag or element using XSLT

    - by shashank saket
My RDF xml file is something like this.. <rdf:RDF> <rdf:Description rdf:about="........"> <j.0:property rdf:resource="....."/> <j.0:property rdf:resource=....."/> <j.0:property rdf:resource="........"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF> Now in my XSLT stylesheet I need to retrieve the values of all the j.0:property tags. I am using something like this: <xsl:apply-templates select="j.0:property"/> <xsl:template match="j.0:property"> <xsl:text><xsl:value-of select="/rdf:RDF/rdf:Description/j.0:propert /@rdf:resource"/></xsl:text> </xsl:template> But then it returns the same value 3 times. The value being the value of the first property encountered. Kindly help as to how I can get the value for each property.

  • Why does this class declaration not work on Visual Studio

    - by Roel
So I'm trying to get some code that is written for gcc to compile on Visual Studio 2008. I have a problem that I have narrowed down to this: class value_t { public: typedef std::deque<value_t> sequence_t; typedef sequence_t::iterator iterator; }; This code fails: 1>cpptest.cpp 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 9.0\vc\include\deque(518) : error C2027: use of undefined type 'value_t' 1> c:\temp\cpptest\cpptest.cpp(10) : see declaration of 'value_t' 1> c:\temp\cpptest\cpptest.cpp(13) : see reference to class template instantiation 'std::deque<_Ty>' being compiled 1> with 1> [ 1> _Ty=value_t 1> ] 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 9.0\vc\include\deque(518) : error C2027: use of undefined type 'value_t' 1> c:\temp\cpptest\cpptest.cpp(10) : see declaration of 'value_t' However when I try this with std::vector, it compiles fine: class value_t { public: typedef std::vector<value_t> sequence_t; typedef sequence_t::iterator iterator; }; What's wrong? I have tried adding 'typename' everywhere I can think of, but at this point in time I'm thinking it's just a bug in the Dinkumware STL. Can anyone explain what's happening, and/or offer a solution? Thanks.

  • PHP PayPal IPN - Getting drop down menu

    - by kimion09
I'm using Paypal's buy it now buttons along with an IPN handler written in PHP to send me an e-mail whenever a purchase is made. The e-mail is properly being sent and is passing much of the data, but it's not capturing the drop down list for selecting a clothing item's size. Here's my button code fields: Select a size: Small Medium Large Extra Large My PHP IPN script that captures the data into variables looks like this: $item_name = $_POST['item_name']; $item_number = $_POST['item_number']; $size = $_POST['on0']; $sizeChoice = $_post['os0']; The e-mail properly displays the item name and item number, but nothing for the $size and $sizeChoice variables. It's late so I'm sure I'm looking over something very obvious but am still wondering if I'm just calling it wrong or if I'm forgetting some hidden fields? Thanks :)
