  • Java - How to avoid loss of precision during divide and cast to int?

    I have a situation where I need to find out how many times an int goes into a decimal, but in certain cases, I'm losing precision. Here is the method: public int test(double decimalAmount, int divisor) { return (int) (decimalAmount/ (1d / divisor)); } The problem with this is if I pass in 1.2 as the decimal amount and 5 as the divisor, I get 5 instead of 6. How can I restrusture this so I know how many times 5 goes into the decimal amount as an int?

But the UIImageView must contain a special image, depending on the device's current orientation.     I'm running this query: SELECT FROM com.Data WHERE entryDate DATE('2010-3-16') I get this error: org.datanucleus.store.appengine.query.DatastoreQuery$UnsupportedDatastoreFeatureException: Problem with query DATE('2010-3-16'): Unsupported method while parsing expression: InvokeExpression{[null].DATE(Literal{2010-3-16})} The same query works when I use it on the admin console. But it does not work for code (java), either locally or when deployed. Any ideas?

    I've created a subclass of UITableViewCell to create some custom appearance and UI functionality ('swipe to reveal delete button'). Some of the cells are disclosure/detail disclosure type, and have a UIButtonTypeDetailDisclosure etc added manually. I cannot use the table view controllers' UITableViewCellAccessory for row at index path method. The question is, how do I set the target of these manually added buttons so that they correctly send the didSelectRowAtIndexPath to their table view controller?

  • Why isn't JML implemented as Annotations in Java?

    Contrary to Code Contracts in C#, in JML Code Contracts are just text that's used in the form of comments in the header of a method. Wouldn't it be better to have them exposed as Annotations, then? That way even when compiling the information would persist on the .class's metadata, contrary to comments, that get erased.   • What is the difference between Thread.Sleep(timeout) and ManualResetEvent.Wait(timeout)?

    Both Thread.Sleep(timeout) and resetEvent.Wait(timeout) cause execution to pause for at least timeout milliseconds, so is there a difference between them? I know that Thread.Sleep causes the thread to give up the remainder of its time slice, thus possibly resulting in a sleep that lasts far longer than asked for. Does the Wait(timeout) method of a ManualResetEvent object have the same problem?
