    Hello, In my table I have a serial number field, which is represneted by string.. It has a prefix and some numbers follow. Eg: ABC1234, ABC2345 etc. How to retrieve the largest value (max equivalent of int type) from this column. In my case it would be ABC2345. I probably could retrieve all the data,, sort it and get the same, but that would be slow. thanks in advance..

My thought is to build two SQL tables: TBL 1 - ColumnsDefinition: ColId, ColName, ColType[Text] TBL 2 - ColumnsValues: RowId, ColId, Value [Text] I want the solution to be efficient in DB space, and I want to allow the user to sort the dynamic columns.   • Umbraco: Handling In Page Javascript in Uswe Controls

    I have quite a number of user controls that I need to embed in Umbraco macros. Each user control has quite a bit of in page javascript that needs loaded into the page. I have been building up the javascript with StringBuilder.Appendline then registering a startup script with code behind but this stinks and I feel there has to be a better way of going about this.   • how to close open ftp connections?

    I use FileZilla, and I thought when a session ended, it automatically closed the ftp connection, but that doesn't appear to have happened because now I'm getting a "530 Sorry, the maximum number of connections (10) for your host are already connected." error. Is there a way to find any open ftp connections and close them from my end? Or, do I have to contact the host?

    I have a main activity where I call VersionSettings vs = new VersionSettings(this); if (vs.firstRun2()) vs.versionCheckbox(); What I'm trying to do is set a checkbox (checkboxVideoType) to an unchecked state if the Android version is 1.6-2.1 I only want to do this the very first time the app is ever run, it never needs to run again. I think I'm running into the problem when the main activity calls versionCheckbox(), I get a force close if it attempts to run the code inside that is going to set the checkbox to false.
