  Hello everybody. I have quick question, and I'm sure some of you guys will be able to point out what I'm doing wrong. Basically, I want to create a table with (calendar), with the months and days of an entire year, and Im using php to do it, my code is doing something weird. What happens is that January is empty and the days for January are being put in february.   Is there built-in support in the TPL for batching operations? I was recently playing with a routine to carry out character replacement on a character array which required a lookup table i.e. transliteration: for (int i = 0; i < chars.Length; i++) { char replaceChar; if (lookup.TryGetValue(chars[i], out replaceChar)) { chars[i] = replaceChar; } } I could see that this could be trivially parallelized, so jumped in with a first stab which I knew would perform worse as the tasks were too fine-grained: Parallel.For(0, chars.Length, i => { char replaceChar; if (lookup.TryGetValue(chars[i], out replaceChar)) { chars[i] = replaceChar; } }); I then reworked the algorithm to use batching so that the work could be chunked onto different threads in less fine-grained batches. This made use of threads as expected and I got some near linear speed up. I'm sure that there must be built-in support for batching in the TPL.   I just need to send one email into the future, so I figured i'd be best at using at rather than using cron. • I'm having an issue to use GLshort for representing Vertex, and Normal.

  As my project gets close to optimization stage, I notice that reducing Vertex Metadata could vastly improve the performance of 3D rendering. Eventually, I've dearly searched around and have found following advices from stackoverflow. Using GL_SHORT instead of GL_FLOAT in an OpenGL ES vertex array How do you represent a normal or texture coordinate using GLshorts? Advice on speeding up OpenGL ES 1.1 on the iPhone Simple experiments show that switching from "FLOAT" to "SHORT" for vertex and normal isn't tough, but what troubles me is when you're to scale back verticies to their original size (with glScalef), normals are multiplied by the reciprocal of the scale. Natural remedy for this is to multiply the normals w/ scale before you submit to GPU. Then, my short normals almost become 0, because the scale factor is usually smaller than 0. Duh! How do you use "short" for both vertex and normal at the same time? I've been trying this and that for about a full day, but I could only go for "float vertex w/ byte normal" or "short vertex w/ float normal" so far. Your help would be truly appreciated.

  I am developing and tableView in which in each row I have to display the click counter and row number.Each cell must have an initial click counter value of 0 when application is initialized. Then increment the click counter value within a cell whenever a user clicks on the cell. I have take 26 fixed rows. I have taken tableData.plist file as in the attached image. I am initializing the self.dataArray with the plist . Questions about his ideas why to waste resources to transform constantly-modified lists to table? Fast? only point where I to some extent agree but cannot understand the same upper limits n for each for-loops -- perhaps he supposed it circular why does the code take O(mlog(n)) to proceed in time as finite structure? The term finite may be wrong, explicit?

  I am trying to create multiple dependent dropdowns (selects) with a unique way. I want to restrict the use of selectors and want to achieve this by using a single class selectors on all SELECTs; by figuring out the SELECT that was changed by its index. Hence, the SELECT[i] that changed will change the SELECT[i+1] only (and not the previous ones like SELECT[i-1]). For html like this: <select class="someclass"> <option value="volvo">Volvo</option> <option value="saab">Saab</option> <option value="mercedes">Mercedes</option> <option value="audi">Audi</option> </select> <select class="someclass"> </select> <select class="someclass"> </select> where the SELECTs other than the first one will get something via AJAX. I see that the following Javascript gives me correct value of the correct SELECT and the value of i also corresponds to the correct SELECT. $(function() { $(".someclass").each(function(i) { $(this).change(function(x) { alert($(this).val() + i); }); }); }); Please note that I really want the minimum selector approach. I just cannot wrap my head around on how to approach this. Should I use Arrays? Like store all the SELECTS in an Array first and then select those? • Zend Framework Form Element Validators - validate a field even if not required

  Is there a way to get a validator to fire even if the form element isn't required? I have a form where I want to validate the contents of a texbox (make sure not empty) if the value of another form element, which is a couple of radio buttons, has a specific value selected. Right now I'm doing this by overriding the isValid() function of my form class and it works great. However, I'd like to move this to either its on validator or use the Callback validator. • Preserving Tabs in POST Data

  I need to preserve tab characters from a textarea through POST Data. It seems that there's no way to differentiate tabs from spaces in the $_POST array, and this is really frustrating me. I'm using a jQuery plugin from here to allow for tab and shift+tab usage within a textarea. http://teddevito.com/demos/textarea.html The JavaScript is using this as its TAB character: $.fn.tabby.defaults = {tabString : String.fromCharCode(9)}; For some reason, it shows an individual space instead of each tab character, so all my code formatting is lost: <textarea name="field0" rows="26" cols="123"><?php echo $_POST['field0']; ?></textarea> Neither does this. Apparently the tabs disappear before the data even reaches the str_replace function (the four spaces in the first double quotes is when I press TAB in my text editor). <textarea name="field0" rows="26" cols="123"><?php echo str_replace(" ", "\t", $_POST['field0']); ?></textarea> The reason I need tabs and not multiple spaces is because my application features and on-line code editor. Anyone have any ideas? I'm guessing the solution would involve modifying the data with javascript before it's sent through POST, but I haven't the slightest idea how to start.

  Hello, I've been having problems with the infoWindows and Google Maps API v3. Initially, I've ran into the problem that everyone else has of closing infoWindows when opening a new one. I thought to have solved the problem by defining "infowindow" beforehand. Now they close when I click on a new marker, but the content is the same. How should I re-structure my code to make sure the content is the right one each time - and only one infoWindow is open at a given time? Thank you! • Using a join with three tables when a field might be null

  Hello, The code below works great. It combines data from two MySQL tables. I would like to modify it by pulling in some data from a third MySQL table called "comment." In the HTML table below, "title" is a field in the MySQL table "submission." Every "title" has a corresponding "submissionid" field. The field "submissionid" is also found in the "comment" MySQL table. In the HTML table below, I would like "countComments" to equal the number of times a field called "commentid" appears in the MySQL table "comment" for any given "submissionid," where the "submissionid" is the same in both the "submission" and "comment" tables, and where the "submissionid" corresponds to the "title" being used. Here's the catch: if there is no row in the MySQL table "comment" that corresponds with the "submissionid" being used for "table", I would like "countComments" to equal to zero. How can I do this? • Product Name Print Several times, How to fix.?

• Altering ManagedObjects In NSArray

  I have an entity called 'Job' with two boolean attributes named 'completed' and 'logged'. I am trying to retrieve all completed jobs that have not been logged at app start-up and change them to logged. I'm able to get all the completed but unlogged jobs with this fetchRequest: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(completed == %@ && logged == %@)", [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES], [NSNumber numberWithBool:NO]]; I'm then assigning this predicate to a fetchRequest and calling the [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:fetchRequest] method to get an array of all Job entities that meet this criteria. This seems to work fine and is returning the correct number of jobs. What I've been trying to do is loop through the NSArray returned, set the logged attribute to YES and then save. This seems to complete and doesn't return any errors but the changes are not persisted when the application quits. Where am I going wrong?   I use rich domain model in my app. The basic ideas were taken there. For example I have User and Comment entities. So the question is how can I organize pagination through model data (getComments). Is there a "beatiful" method to get comments from 5 to 10, not all, as getComments returns by default.

• Getting a UIImage from MySQL using PHP and jSON

  I'm developing a little news reader that retrieves the info from a website by doing a POST request to a URL. The response is a jSON object with the unread-news. E.g. the last news on the App has a timeStamp of "2013-03-01". When the user refreshes the table, it POSTS "domain.com/api/api.php?newer-than=2013-03-01". The api.php script goes to the MySQL database and fetches all the news posted after 2013-03-01 and prints them json_encoded. This is // do something to get the data in an array echo $array_of_fetched_data; for example the response would be [{"title": "new app is coming to the market", "text": "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...", image: XXX}] the App then gets the response and parses it, obtaining an NSDictionary and adds it to a Core Data db. NSDictionary* obtainedNews = [NSJSONSerialization JSONObjectWithData:responseData options:kNilOptions error:&error]; My question is: How can I add an image to the MySQL database, store it, pass it using jSON trough a POST HTTP Request and then interpret it as an UIImage. It's clear that to store an UIImage in CoreData, they must be transform into/from NSData. How can I pass the NSData back and forth to a MySQL db using php and jSON? How should I upload the image to the db? (Serialized, as a BLOB, etc)

• How to convert Big Endian and how to flip the highest bit?

  I am using a TStream to read binary data (thanks to this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2878180/how-to-use-a-tfilestream-to-read-2d-matrices-into-dynamic-array). My next problem is that the data is Big Endian. From my reading, the Swap() method is seemingly deprecated. How would I swap the types below? 16-bit two's complement binary integer 32-bit two's complement binary integer 64-bit two's complement binary integer IEEE single precision floating-point - Are IEEE affected by Big Endian? And, finally, since the data is unsigned, the creators of this dataset have stored the unsigned values as signed integers (excluding the IEEE). They instruct that one need only add an offset (2^15, 2^31, and 2^63) to recover the unsigned data. But, they note that flipping the most significant bit is the fastest way to do that. How does one efficiently flip the most significant bit of a 16, 32, or 64-bit integer? So, if the data on disk (16-bit) is "85 FB" - the desired result after reading the data and swapping and bit flipping would be 1531. Is there a way to accomplish the swapping and bit flipping with generics so it fits into the generic answer at the link above? Yes, kids, THIS is how scientific astronomical data is stored by NASA, ESO, and all professional astronomers. This FITS standard is considered by some to be one of the most successful standards ever created in its proliferation and flexibility!
