  Keep only ObservableCollections in the ViewModel and IEnumerables in the Model? Does following this general guideline make any sense? I'm thinking this is the way to go because the models don't care about updating the View with the RaiseNotifyChanged.

• Camping: Return user to recent entries, but keep errors

  Users can view a specific entry in my webapp with a URL. /entry/8, for example. If an entry doesn't exist, "Entry not found" gets appended to @messages and I render an error page. I'd like to redirect the user to /recent, but I can't figure out a good way to keep the error message around to be displayed. There are other actions that need to take place in the Recent controller, so I can't just duplicate the query and render :posts.

I have a youtube video url and I'd like the user to be able to click a video thumbnail in my list and go to a youtube app to view the video (similar to iPhone). Is this possible?   is there a way to load the full binary of an image in javascript? what i want to do is to allow the user to preview an image before uploading it. ie the user selects an image on his local drive (C:\image.jpg) , view it, and decides to upload or cancel. i tried to set the source to the image path, but it didn't work since it is outside the webapplication project folder. any help?

  How to display the datas of tables, that are linked by a primay key and foriegn key, where the foriegn key of the data repeats? For ex. I have two tables, ParentTable and Childtable. The primarykey of the Parent table acts as the foriegn key of the Child table. There are more than one record with same ParentId in Child table. How to retrieve them and display in a single Grid or List or any type of view?

• does @@identity return the primary key or identity field?

  Hi, My issue is that I've got update triggers on an SQL View (MS SQL 2005) which I'm mapping to LINQ to SQL entities in C#... My SQL looks correct but it complains about trying to insert a null value into a secondary table PK field. I believe my issue relates to having the primary key and identity as seperate fields in the primary table. So my question is this....when using @@identity, does it look at the primary key of the inserted row, or does it look at the field with "IDENTITY" specified???

But, when I view/preview or save or edit the content, the [nid:n] appears again. Anybody can help me?

• Text extra aliased(jagged) in IE - looks terrible - but OK in FF and Chrome

  I am building a website - http://www.efficaxdevelopment.com As you can see when you load the page(in IE) the text on the page that isn't an image or the menu looks terrible, while in FF and Chrome the text looks fine. you can view the source on the page and the css is here http://www.efficaxdevelopment.com/styles/mainstyle.css Also, the sliding bar over the menu appears a few pixels left of where it appears in FF and IE. Any ideas?
