Hello, I have successfully setup gitosis on my server thanks to this helpful howto.
Versions:
Server: CentOS 5
Desktop: Windows 7
Git (on Desktop): 1.6.5.1.1367.gcd48
Client: TortoiseGit 1.3.2.0 (with msysgit 1.6.1)
How can I clone a Git repository from my server when my SSH port is non the default (22)?
I believe that the URL ssh://[email protected]:3031/gitosis-admin.git works, but I get:
'/gitosis-admin.git' does not appear
to be a git repository
Thank you.
Hello,
how can I change a default working directory/drive for shell in Emacs (on Windows)?
Normally, shell starts in the same directory as the file in current buffer. However, when my current file is on D: drive, it starts in c:. Manually changing drive to D: in shell brings me to my directory of course, but I want to avoid this extra step. Is it possible?
Do you know of any application that could define the application for opening different file types?
For example, setting a default application that would open .reg files.

I have a large monitor and when a PDF file is opened in my browser with the PDF plugin the letters are tiny with 100% zoom level. Every time I have to set it to 200% manually to be able to read the text.
Is there a way to set the default zoom level to 200% in the plugin?
I am using uTorrent for my torrents and when I open a new torrent with utorrent, I must manually
right click the item
click on bandwidth allocation
set it to HIGH
then I must repat the first 2 steps again and then go to click on Set upload limit and click the proper desired amount which for me is 1 Kb/s
This is very annoying to do this on every single torrent, is there a way to have these set as the default values in utorrent?
I just deployed Nagios on a Gentoo server and everything is fine except ssh, which it marks as "CRITICAL" because it's refusing connections. But that's because it's running on a port different from the default 22. How do I change it so that it monitors the right port?
Is it possible to set Google Reader as the default feed reader on Safari and/or Mac OS X so that when I open an RSS in Safari I'm redirected to Google Reader like it does in Firefox when you set it appropriately? How?
Imagine this: no matter which software, when I hit "SAVE", the file explorer dialog that appears is listing my files in reverse-alpha order. This happens by default on all folders and is just an annoyance because on each folder i have to set the view pane to Details then re-sort in alpha order.
Browsing through my PC just using explorer works fine, this happens only on SAVE or OPEN dialog boxes (regardless of the software).
Any trick to reset this to alpha order globally? thanks!
A user of ours cleared their path, thanks to some directions on the internet.
What is the default path, I am a developer so I have tons of extra stuff in mine, what should my user get on a plane jane one?
Hello All
Does anybody know how you can make files show their suffix on default in finder. Currently I have to open the info window for each file and deselect "Hide extension".

So I have been searching the web for days, looking for a solution to my problem.
Now my only hope are you guys.
I have installed Owncloud successfully on my Windows Server 2008R2. It all runs smoothly and I can connect without problems.
So first checks are OK. Now I wanted to change the default data directory from my server to a shared folder on my NAS (Synology DS1813+, DSM 5.0-4493 Update 3).
Tried following:
changing the directory in config.php
I changed the path in the config file from : "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\myfolder\data" to "\NASIP\cloud".
by doing this the owncloud server only shows:
Code: Select all
Daten-Verzeichnis (\192.168.2.4\Cloud\data) ist ungültig
Bitte stelle sicher, dass das Daten-Verzeichnis eine Datei namens ".ocdata" im Wurzelverzeichnis enthält.
I also tried coping the files that were created in the local data storage, to the share on the NAS. No Luck.
Now I tried it by mapping a network drive and using that in the config.php
But still no luck. I get the same message with the missing .ocdata file.
Now I tried the "External Storage APP" that comes with owncloud
I thought that at least I could add the share as an external storage. But this also does not work. tried UNC, Mapped Drive Name (Z:) but nothing helped.
So now I'm turning to you.. Does anyone have expirience with this kind of setup? Or can you even tell me how to make it work? (default or external storgae, I don't care anymore )
Using NAS (Synology DS1813+, DSM 5.0-4493 Update 3), Owncloud 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS7
I got an answer on an other forum:
The second option is how it should be done:
1. Put OC in maintenance mode
2. Mount (mapping in the windows world) your NAS directly to your OS
3. Copy the local data directory to the NAS mount
4. Ensure the permission is setup to give the web user access to the NAS mount
5. Update OC config.php with the new data path
6. Disable OC maintenance mode
And this seems like the right way..
Ensure the permission is setup to give the web user access to the NAS mount
I guess this is where I am not sure.
What user is it exactly on my Server that is making the requests to the NAS?
If the user is for example "IUSR" I can just create an account on my synology NAS and give him full access to my share? (But what is IUSRs password?)
I have full root ssh access to my NAS, so if you can tell me what chmod or chown I need to use on my cloud folder...
What is default sorting for excel 2010 pivot table and charts I have a "Year month Week" column in my data sheet which I am using as row label, excel pivot table renders it arbitrarily
like in data sheet I have data in the following order
2010 October Week 1
2010 September Week 1
2010 September Week 2
2010 September Week 3
2010 September Week 4
but when I use this in pivot table it generates row labels as
2010 October Week 1
2010 September Week 3
2010 September Week 2
2010 September Week 4
2010 September Week 1
I want pivot table to show row labels exactly in the same order as it is in data sheet
I just acquired a Wi-Fire long-range wi-fi adapter, and I would like to test it with my Ubuntu desktop computer. However, my machine defaults to using a built-in wireless card. How can I set my new wireless adapter as the default wireless connection? How can I disable my internal wireless card (without opening my computer case)?
In MS Outlook 2007/2010, it's possible to show multiple calendars overlayed on each other (a la Google Calendar; see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/view-calendars-side-by-side-or-overlaid-HA001230157.aspx#BM4). However, it appears that in order to do this, you must first open the calendars side-by-side and then press the little left-arrow button to "combine" them into an overlaid view. Is there a way to make "overlaid" the default view for multiple calendars (again, a la Google Calendar)?
Win7 libraries have a default folder location, but there are times I want to save to a different one (eg My Documents vs Shared Documents) but I can't find any way to specify any of the other locations from the file-save dialog.
I recently discovered the keyboard shortcut for metacity's "full screen" option, where a window is fully maximised with titlebar and border hidden. I like this mode a lot, and for one of my systems would like to make it the default for all new windows. How would I do that?
I am trying to set up the mod_status module in Apache2 per the documentation here: http://www.serverdensity.com/docs/agent/apachestatus/
My problem is that my default site is over-riding the /server-status location, what is it that I am doing wrong?
ANONYMOUS LOGON and Everyone have the following top level permissions in our Exchange 2003 Server:
Read
Execute
Read permissions
List contents
Read properties
List objects
Create public folder
Create named properties in the
information store
Are these the "default" settings?
In particular, are the "Read" and "Execute" permissions a problem?
We have a simple small business setup, Outlook clients connect to the server on the local network, OWA is used from outside the network for browser and smartphone access.
Thanks
