  I want to write some text directly to a file using Flex 3 / Air. The text on the file (call it "Database.txt") must have the following format: Line1 Line2 Line3 var FS:FileStream = new FileStream(); var DatabaseFile:File = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath("Database.txt"); FS.open(DatabaseFile, FileMode.WRITE); FS.writeUTFBytes("Line1" + "\n" + "Line2" + "\n" + "Line3"); FS.close(); But it writes the following text to the file: Line1 Line2 Line3.   Hi there, I am trying to create an app with some menus, an I am following the basic example available in the official android site: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/menus.html My problems appear when I define the menu in the XML. After creating the folder res/menu and creating the menu_option.xml file from eclipse.... The project (in general) gives an error that can be read from the Problems tab: Unparsed aapt error(s)! The XML code is exactly the same as the one in the example, so I don't really know what is happening.   Hello, I am trying to understand, how can Voldermort be used? Say, I have this scenario: Since, Voldemort is a key-value pair. I need to fetch a value (say some text) on the basis of 3 parameters. So, what will be the key in this case? I cannot use 3 keys for 1 value right, but that value should be search able on the basis of those 3 parameters. Am I making sense? • Custom UITableviewcell, CGGradient still shows when cell is selected?

  I'm using a custom tableview cell (like Tweetie's fast scrolling) i've added a gradient to the context, which looks really nice, but when I select the cell, the gradient is still visible.   If I understand it right the new ACT ComboBox Control is Bound once to a given Datasource. But the count of the records I want to bind is very large. So I want to load the content of the ComboBox List via Ajax after the user typed in a few charachters. So at page load the combobox list should be empty and if something is typed in the list is loaded with the typed text as search text. • SVN Mac oSX issue - permissions?

  Hello there, /Volumes/sites is a connection to a samba share that hosts some of our sites. We authorise using a username & password that is the same user/pass to log onto the mac. When committing, (or even doing a cleanup) from the Mac Client side using the svn command line tool or SCPlugin, this error occurs: Commit succeeded, but other errors follow: Error bumping revisions post-commit (details follow): In directory '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html' Error processing command 'committed' in '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html' Error replacing text-base of 'index.php' Can't move '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html/.svn/tmp/text-base/index.php.svn-base' to '/Volumes/sites/foobar/public_html/.svn/text-base/index.php.svn-base': Operation not permitted Any ideas? I think it's to do with permissions on the mac side not being able to move files around on the samba share. Apologies if my question is kinda vague so any extra information I can give please shout. After selecting the file,i need to open the file for reading the data from the text file.For this, i used the following code to open the text file. fp=File.OpenText(FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName) This is working fine in my system.The FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName statement gives the path of the file.The File.OpenText method opens the selected file.But when i run my project in IIS,it gives the following error: "File.OpenText is not declared." The FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName statement is not retrieving the path, it retrieves only only the filename.what could be the reason?

• Clipping the caret in a C# program

  I'm creating a WinForms control in C# (using VS2008, .net 3.5) which allows text input. I've imported the necessary Win32 API functions from User32.dll for displaying the normal Windows caret and these are all working fine, but it's not displaying exactly how I'd like it. Text is displayed on the control with a blank border and I use Graphics.SetClip() to leave this margin clear. I want the caret to be clipped to the same region, but since I don't paint it and there's no obvious API function to set a clipping region, I can't see any way of doing this. Have I missed anything obvious? The caret is clipped inside the control in which it is drawn. I'm therefore aware that one solution could be to place the text in a separate sub-control with no border. However, if there's a simpler way than redesigning this part of the control, I'd like to look for that first. Thanks in advance for any help!

  Hi, I'm repeating same binding parameters for every textbox and they're quite long strings (which is not good for many reasons). And I'm wondering if there's a way to make them shorter? For instance all my controls on forms are using the following binding template: Text="{Binding SourceProperty, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, ValidatesOnExceptions=True, ValidatesOnDataErrors=True, NotifyOnValidationError=True}" I'd would like to have something shorter that ideally will take SourceProperty as parameter. Possbly like this: Text="{MyBinding SourceProperty}" or Text="{Binding SourceProperty, Params=MyParams}" One possible option would be to inherit from Binding and create new markup extension. Did someone tried this? Any other ideas how to make these repetetive bindings look better?

  I'm writing a high-loaded daemon that should be run on the FreeBSD 8.0 and on Linux as well. The main purpose of daemon is to pass files that are requested by their identifier. Identifier is converted into local filename/file size via request to db. And then I use sequential mmap() calls to pass file blocks with send(). However sometimes there are mismatch of filesize in db and filesize on filesystem (realsize < size in db). In this situation I've sent all real data blocks and when next data block is mapped -- mmap returns no errors, just usual address (I've checked errno variable also, it's equal to zero after mmap). And when daemon tries to send this block it gets Segmentation Fault. (This behaviour is guarantedly issued on FreeBSD 8.0 amd64) I was using safe check before open to ensure size with stat() call. However real life shows to me that segfault still can be raised in rare situtaions. So, my question is there a way to check whether pointer is accessible before dereferencing it? When I've opened core in gdb, gdb says that given address is out of bound. Probably there is another solution somebody can propose.

  I have been spending quite some time lately reading Java6 Documentation; although I use Monaco as my monospaced font of choice, I am still searching for the best font which will please my eyes while reading the documentation text. I use both Windows7 at work and Mac OS X at home for the aforementioned and currently using (Monaco+Andalus) on Windows and (Monaco+Geneva) on Mac OS X, but would love to try out better looking fonts (specifically for documentation text, since I am sold on Monaco already). • Nav drop down with rounded corner troubles...

  Hi I have worked on the following nav drop down seen here http://charmcitykids.missionmedia.net/. It works and is almost complete, but I have one issue. When you mouseover a nav title the text goes from color to black and then shows the dropdown. That is how it should work, but when you move your mouse to go a nav title within the dropdown the black text(active image) goes back to color and doesnt remain black. Any suggestion when dropdown is active and user is navigating through such to keep the text(active image) black? thnx jonah

The refresh works ok when I just open the page, but when I click on one of the treeviews and expand it, the refresh stopps working and the page isnt being refreshed. Any ideas why this can happen? Is there any connection to the treeview being expanded?
