I want to implement a Custom logger which logs all log entries to a Database.
Currently my app logs this way (slf4j and log4j binding):
private static final Logger logger = LoggerFactory.getLogger( MyClass.class );
I'm not sure how to proceed.
My Idea is to implement a Custom Logging binding
through implementing the org.slf4j.Logger Interface
What would be the next steps?
My target is to not change the current code

Has anyone been able to get Oracle Forms running JInitator to loan in Internet Explorer 8 yet? I want to split the inetger values to individual digits and place them in a new array as individual elements such that my array now is:

How would i go about doing that? I'm doing this in java.

I have a xml document. I know the index where i need to insert the new node. The index that i have is the position considering only the text nodes and ignoring the element tags. Is there a java api to seek the index in a xml knowing the position relative to the text nodes alone and insert a new node in that position?

i am writing stored procedures in MySQL that return values;

and i get the error that the results cannot be shown in the given context.
after some googling, i think that i need to set the flag "CLIENT_MULTI_RESULTS" - i am connecting the database from JDBC using a java app, but cant find where to set it!

What jar libraries do I have to copy from the recompiled platform? the modifications are small and I don't want to replace the whole system.. I'm trying to replace specific jar libraries.

I'm trying to compile a runnable jar-file for a project that makes use of hibernate. I'm trying to construct an ant build.xml file to streamline my build process, but I'm having troubles with the inclusion of the hibernate3.jar inside the final jar-file.
If I run the ant script I manage to include all my library jars, and they are put in the final jar-file's root. When I run the jar-file I get a
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/hibernate/Session
error. If I make use of the built-in export to jar in Eclipse, it works only if I choose "extract required libraries into jar". But that bloats the jar, and includes too much of my project (i.e. unit tests).
Below is my generated manifest:

The refids' for the zipfilesets point to the directories in a library directory lib in the root of the project. The manifest.classpath-variable takes the classpath of all those library jar-files, and flattens them with pathconvert and mapper.
I've also tried to set the manifest classpath to ".", "./" and only the library jar, but to no difference at all. I'm hoping there's a simple remedy to my problems...
I'm practicing my knowledge of ADTs by implementing some data structures, even if most already exist. With Stacks, a lot of books and other documentation I've read talk about the stack throwing an error when you try to add an element but the stack is full. In a java implementation (or any other), should I specifically keep track of a maximum stack size (from constructor), check to see if that size is reached, and throw an overflow exception if it is?
Or is not such a big deal?
In Java, I may have a class, for example, "utility" ....., and I have a static method called "changeToCapitalLetter", so , I can do something like this:

How can I do the similar thing in Objective C? thz a lot.
Examining the attributes of UTF-16 and UTF-8, I can't find any reason to prefer UTF-16.
However, checking out Java and C#, it looks like strings and chars there default to UTF-16. I was thinking that it might be for historic reasons, or perhaps for performance reasons, but couldn't find any information.
Anyone knows why these languages chose UTF-16? And is there any valid reason for me to do that as well?

What is the basic idea of a Hash Map ? I am using it as it easy for me to store so much data with direct key references rather than having to iterate through an arraylist ?

Do you know of any tool that would do like Ruby on Rails' Scaffolding (create simple CRUD pages for any particular class to allow quickly populating a database with dummy data), only which used Java classes with Hibernate for database access, and JSP/JSF for the pages?
It is a drag when you are programming one part of an application, but need data that can only be added with another part that is not ready yet, or very cumbersomely by directly inserting it into the DB.
